This is our customary Treehouse Church Sunday benediction. This is a time for finding solace, a time for reflection. We are about to enter another week. Will it be a week blessed by the Love and Protection of our Dear Lord. Or will it be a week where we are made to feel lost and alone? I can’t answer that question. What I can answer is to speak to the value of faith in Our Dear Lord. Having faith in time of high stress will help us in so many mysterious ways. Our lord loves us, want’s to look after us and protect us. All He asks is belief in
Him. All you have to do is simply ask . . . That’s all it takes. Honest.

Tonight, I’d like to include a post from a dear Treeper friend. She made this earlier tonight and it is such a profound statement of belief, of faith, of true devotion . . . Please note that her last comment is “yes”.

Can we trust Him with His Answers? He hears all our prayers. He Hears us. He Loves us. He also sees our future, six months, a year, a day… from now. He Knows what He’s doing. Can we trust Him with our pain? The desires of our hearts? The results if His Answer seems to be a “no”? Maybe He’s moving a mountain for us? A mountain seen or unseen. What is He Saving us from? Can we trust Him with His Answers?

Psalm 1
This is a psalm of instruction concerning good and evil, setting before us life and death, the blessing and the curse, that we may take the right way which leads to happiness and avoid that which will certainly end in our misery and ruin. The different character and condition of godly people and wicked people, those that serve God and those that serve him not, is here plainly stated in a few words; so that every man, if he will be faithful to himself, may here see his own face and then read his own doom. That division of the children of men into saints and sinners, righteous and unrighteous, the children of God and the children of the wicked one, as it is ancient, ever since the struggle began between sin and grace, the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, so it is lasting, and will survive all other divisions and subdivisions of men into high and low, rich and poor, bond and free; for by this men’s everlasting state will be determined, and the distinction will last as long as heaven and hell. This psalm shows us,

I. The holiness and happiness of a godly man (v. 1-3).
II. The sinfulness and misery of a wicked man (v. 4, 5).
III. The ground and reason of both (v. 6).

Whoever collected the psalms of David (probably it was Ezra) with good reason put this psalm first, as a preface to the rest, because it is absolutely necessary to the acceptance of our devotions that we be righteous before God (for it is only the prayer of the upright that is his delight), and therefore that we be right in our notions of blessedness and in our choice of the way that leads to it. Those are not fit to put up good prayers who do not walk in good ways.

Jesus Christ is laying down this principle – Do what you know you must do, now, and do it quickly; if you do not, the inevitable process will begin to work and you will have to pay to the last farthing in pain and agony and distress. God’s laws are unalterable; there is no escape from them. The teaching of Jesus goes straight to the way we are made up.

To see that my adversary gives me my rights is natural; but Jesus says that it is a matter of eternal and imperative importance to me that I pay my adversary what I own him. From our Lord’s standpoint it does not matter whether I am defrauded or not; what does matter is that I do not defraud. Am I insisting on my rights, or am I paying what I owe from Jesus Christ’s standpoint?

Do the thing quickly, bring yourself to judgment now. In moral and spiritual matters, you must do it at once; if you do not, the inexorable process will begin to work. God is determined to have His child as pure and clean and white as driven snow, and as long as there is disobedience in any point of His teaching, He will prevent none of the working of His spirit. Our insistence in proving that we are right is nearly always an indication that there has been some point of disobedience. No wonder the Spirit so strongly urges to keep steadfastly in the light!

“Agree with thine adversary quickly.” Have you suddenly turned a corner in any relationship and found that you had anger in your heart? Confess it quickly, quickly put it right before God, be reconciled to the one – DO IT NOW.

Beryl has formed an eye wall and is at CAT 2 strength with 100+ mph sustained winds and continuing to get ever more organized and powerful. This is a very compact storm but they now believe that it will reach CAT 4 strength meaning winds in excess of 130 mph.

It is currently moving due west at 20 mph which is a bit south of the most probably track shown yesterday. The stronger the storm the longer it can last under adverse conditions which it will start to encounter as it approaches the vicinity of Jamaica in the form of wind shear that will get stronger as it continues to move west.

Forecast track is now showing it passing south of that island and since it is so compact, having a relatively small area of hurricane force winds, that would mean Jamaica would dodge a bullet. But that also means that it will delay it’s encounter with the trough in the upper troposphere coming down from the NE that will cause the shear that will weaken it.

Beryl set has set a record. No storm this early in the season ever reached hurricane strength when it was so far east in the Main Development Region (MDR). Other hurricanes have formed earlier in the season but they were the result of close in development and had not formed from a tropical wave coming off the coast of Africa as Beryl has. Lets hope that Beryl doesn’t set any other records.

Visitors to Ireland, or even those who pick up an old illustrated Irish Book of Kells, will find representations of the mysterious Celtic knot. Although widely used as a Christian ornamentation on crosses and in religious manuscripts, the endless knot predates Christianity. Chinese art has an ancient form of the knot. Today’s verse knots together hope, joy, and peace, and the One who created that knot is the triune God. It is an endless knot that only He can tie.

 In today’s verse, Paul reminds you that hope, peace, and joy can be yours because God is a God of hope. He is able to supply these things in your life until you overflow with them. It is available to those who believe, to those who have put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ and his atoning death on Calvary and subsequent resurrection.

Complete hope, peace, and joy cannot be self-produced. 

When such joy, peace, and hope fill your life, the world cannot help but notice. Your steadfast security in even the darkest hours becomes a living testimony to those around you of the power and faithfulness of Jesus as your Source for everything.

Pastor David Jeremiah said, “The attitude of joy is one of our greatest witnessing tools.” Your joyful spirit, he says, will “open the doors of evangelism.” 

Let joy overflow! Let peace rule your heart! Let your future be filled with hope! Pray that these realities will shine forth from Christ-believing members of Congress and their staffers in the halls of government.

Joan, I meant to get back with you last night regarding shoes and concrete.

I read your post again, and it does sound as if the shoes may be a bit too snug with your middle toe being a bit longer.

My thinking on the Keen steel toes applied to steel toes. Since you don’t have to wear steel toes, by all means find something else.

Yes, SAS are great shoes and indeed very expensive……but if they are hurting your toe, they are only going to continue to do so, and eventually that’s gonna be more than a little problematic. Perhaps you can wear them places other than work and eventually they will conform more to your feet and stretch a bit to where you need them.

Now, this is the meat & ‘taters of this message:

If your feet hurt, everything else will eventually hurt. There is a time period where one “adapts” to being on concrete all the time. It lasts for quite awhile til you adapt. It’s never good for you to be on your feet on it all day, but you adapt.

Dealing with back problems since 1997 has lead me to always be on the lookout for shoes/boots that are comfortable and help my back. And how they fit and feel on my feet play a big role.

Find a store that sells Oboz hiking shoes and boots.

Do not, I repeat, do NOT order a pair based on the size you currently wear, no matter WHAT a review online says about them.

I wear Oboz Bridger mid cut hiking boots. If I could wear them to work, I WOULD.

Oboz are sized juuuuust enough differently that it is imperative to try them on and walk around in the store for awhile insuring you have the size you want.

MAKE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you have enough room for your toes. Walk around for 15 minutes if you have to.

I bought the first pair, some 8 inch hikers, after having gone and tried them on only to discover they were a FULL size “larger” than what I usually wore. I even took off the boots I wore into the store and put them heel to heel and measured them to the toe. They were the exact same length.

Sooooo………since the store price was really high, and since I knew I needed a size (in THAT brand) different than what I ordinarily wore, and since I found a good sale online, I ordered them online.

Good boots. I wore them a lot over that winter, walked a lot of miles in them trying to help my back and improve my conditioning even though I had finally returned to work after the back surgeries.

As it started to warm up in the spring, I decided I needed the mid cut boots (6 inch) in the same style.

Well…….I got to thinking about how the size was different compared to what I normally wore. The dimensions of the shoe were the same, but THEIR numbering system was different.

I went back to the outdoor store where I had first seen the Oboz brand and tried on the Oboz Bridger in the 8 inch boot, and I tried the Bridger in the 6 inch (mid cut) boot. It was even better.

I left the store knowing EXACTLY the size I needed in the most comfortable boots I’d ever had…..

And I started looking on eBay. Yes, eBay.

You see, I figured that since tons of people order stuff online, there would likely be some Oboz Bridgers on there that folks had worn once or twice and could not quite get comfortable in because they ordered the size they THOUGHT they needed without ever trying them on, only to find Oboz sizing was a bit different.

I was SO right.

I looked around on eBay and saw a pair that looked new, and bought them for a fraction of the price of new.

You know what happens if one buys a pair of shoes and wears them once? They become “used”.

I have bought several pairs of Oboz Bridgers on eBay. All of them nearly knew. As in, some came with the original box. You can’t even look at the soles and find wear.

Oboz has changed some styles. I bought a new in the box pair of Sawtooth X boots that looked a bit better for summer because they had a couple of canvas panels. I’m breaking them in a bit at a time because the toe box design was changed to be a bit shorter vertically and it sort of pinched my toes from top to bottom. They are slowly stretching out. I’ll wear them, because I know eventually they will work, but they are not the Bridgers. This is the ONLY pair I’ve needed to break in. All the others I’ve put on and walked for miles with no problem.

Oboz now has some other styles that I have read have undergone a difference in their sizing. ALL this is gonna do is create confusion in sizing for people who already know their size, or DID know their size, in Oboz.

Go with the Bridgers. Either in a low cut or a mid. And yes, they can look cute on girls.

Most definitely go find a store and TRY THEM ON before finding nearly new, worn once or twice pairs on eBay for a fraction of the price.

The Bridgers I wear are $200 in the store. I bought a pair I didn’t even NEED and started wearing them a month ago. You know what I paid on eBay for a pair that had been worn once or twice? $50 plus tax and shipping bringing it to something like $63. I’ve paid more for some that were new with the box……but not a lot more.

These are hands down the best I’ve ever had. And this is with a continuous search for good boots that help my back…….going back to 1997.

Your mileage may vary, but if you give this advice a shot, you could be pleasantly surprised without spending anywhere near what you did for the SAS. Your feet and budget will thank you.

Thank You for allowing me to come to You in Your Throne Room to bow on my knees. Thank You that You Lift my chin to raise my eyes to You and You raise me up, lifted in Your Powerful Arms to tuck my head into Your Chest and to bring my inner pleadings to You.

In unity with my brothers and sisters here, Father, we lift those our heart and minds deny us. We lift those who are sick and demented, broken and sinister. Those who have been given over to graven images and practices. Those who practice witchcraft and demonics. Those who crucify others at whim. Those who we would not want saved. Those who we detest. Their evil wreaking in the foulest odor, that our Holy Spirit living within us warns us to avoid!

Father, You Made them in Your Image. Only a Father and Creator can love such!

Let the tide turn, Father. Do not banish them to the pits of hell forever. Do not allow them to escape Your Sight and Your Authority. Do not give them over to satan for eternity.

We ask You to use Your armies of angels and the seven Holy Spirits to flood the world and turn the tides. Release all from the grips of the demons within and set the world on a new course. Each sinner has a choice to make – to turn and sin no more. It’s easy. Just turn away and walk away from every evil that entices you. Do not worry about the consequences of this earth or its people – for the Eternal consequences matter more than any temporary ones offered here. Eternity is forever and man who is made in God’s Image belongs with and too its Creator, God. Just turn. You have the power to do it, God Gives you free will to do whatever you set your mind to. Set you mind to things above and not to what’s down here. Down here, there is nothing for you, but up There in Glorious Heaven, Perfection awaits.

Forgiveness is yours. Turn. Turn. Turn. And sin no more! If you are breathing, there is still time.

Unite with Right and Truth and sin no more. We are here waiting to welcome you into the Eternal Body of Christ Who died for you, too, sinners. He didn’t die for the righteous, for they would need no absolution (yet there’s not a single one of those!)… He died for the broken, the sinner, the criminal, and the saint.

2) Ask for The Lord’s Forgiveness that is plentiful
3) Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for you and paid the ultimate price for all our sins as a Living Sacrifice, paying a debt we could never pay
4) Turn from the evil and sin no more
5) Seek Him with all your mind, soul, and body and You Will always find Him.
6) When you can and if you can, be baptized. It is an outward expression of an inward commitment to God. A living testimony of our Spiritual cleansing

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I am learning more and more about the sinister workings of the Superintendent of Lebanon Community Schools. This is all buried on an obscure little website… but he is directly related to the killing of legislation in the assembly to protect our children. I saw this man, not five feet in front of me, metamorphize into a demon possessed man while he gleefully bragged of being mentored by the former President of the School Superintendents Union of Indiana who was actively destroying the student protecting legislation through committee.

Milleman said “if that legislation passed, it would remove humanity from the classrooms”. How’s that humanity working for all of us? I say instead let’s add Divinity back into the classrooms through sensibility, morality, ethics, and good judgement.

I have to pray for these people. Those kids in that building don’t stand a chance under his leadership and the radicals.
