I go to the marina and the government has an agency charged with managing the waterways. The agency is renting space at my marina for part of their dredging operation, which consists of 2 excavators, a single barge, a tugboat and a couple dump trucks. It takes a half hour to load the barge and a half hour to unload the barge so all the time they’re working there are at least 3 guys sitting while 1 guy works.
They do not care how or how much they waste our resources
But, using a one man working in a unit philosophy renders that one good man to do all the work and be on call 24 hours a day. That is called greedy capitalism where the one underpaid worker is going to bow out from sickness and overwork and no one trained to step in to take his place. This is foolishness and has happened to me in several workplaces.
Maybe this situation is different and I failed to explain how it works. This is in a nutshell.
One excavator is in the water out away from shore, it has pontoons on the tracks. The tugboat moves the barge between the 2 excavators. These 3 pieces of equipment each have an operator who sits when his part of the process isn’t happening.
If there were 3 barges everyone would be busy all day. The job would get done faster and we’d be getting a little value for our money. They’d need another truck or 2 but the operation would be much more efficient. It will cost a little more to run with 2 more trucks and 2 more barges but we won’t be paying guys a premium wage to sit in an air conditioned machine and play angry birds on their phone for 60 out of every 90 minutes. The amount of materials moved are not going to change, it all needs to be dredged either way. It’ll just get moved more quickly.
As someone paying the user fee on 2 different vessels which directly funds this operation, I’d prefer it operate much more efficiently and not blatantly waste my money right in my face.
There is another dredge in another part of the lakes that is like a sewer vacuum machine on a barge with a pipeline that moves the material to shore. It isn’t very fast either but at least its just 1 guy on it all day. Id rather see more of this than pay dudes to sit.

The recently retired leader of U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency has come out against the creation of a new cyber branch of America’s armed services as efforts to consider a cyber force gain momentum on Capitol Hill.
The House Armed Services Committee last month directed the Pentagon to study the need for a separate a cyber force in an amendment to a major defense bill now working its way through Congress.
Former Army Gen. Paul Nakasone says the problem is serious, but acknowledged he is not a fan of creating a new force to join the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Space Force.
“We have to think about how we’re going to organize ourselves; I do not think organizing a service is the best way to do that right now,” Gen. Nakasone said on a podcast with ClearanceJobs, a website listing career opportunities with special security requirements.
The general sounded much more optimistic about modeling the current Cyber Command after the U.S. Special Operations Command instead, with a focus on developing cyber professionals who are operating around-the-clock.
His reluctance to the creation of a new cyber force could dampen the hopes of those in Washington leading the push for a new armed service, saying it would elevate the visibility of the threat from adversaries such as Russia and China
The Foundation for Defense of Democracies called for the establishment of a cyber force in March — which would be the seventh separate service under the Pentagon’s command — and captured the attention of a key cyber policymaker in the House.
The influential think tank said the U.S. government’s cyber forces were plagued by a poor and uncertain division of labor against the growing cyber threat, after interviewing more than 75 active-duty and retired military officers. China, the FDD study noted, China “has already centralized its cyber, space, electronic warfare, and psychological warfare capabilities within its Strategic Support Force.”
FDD’s recommendation captured the attention of the then-leader of the House Armed Services cyber subcommittee Mike Gallagher. Before retiring, the Wisconsin Republican urged Congress to have the Department of Defense look at the question of a cyber force.
“Congress needs to have the Department of Defense commission an independent assessment of the force-generation challenges to include some recommended ways forward,” Mr. Gallagher said at an FDD event in March. “I think we need the department to have an outside assessor replicate this study but at an even deeper level.”
Rep. Morgan Luttrell, Texas Republican, called for a new military cyber force last month and helped insert an amendment prompting the Pentagon to consider the question in a major defense bill.
The Senate Armed Services Committee’s cyber panel is set to meet behind closed doors on the defense bill next week, and lawmakers may discuss the issue of a new cyber force.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, a member of the cybersecurity subcommittee, attempted to insert a similar provision in a defense bill last year, according to The Record, but the New York Democrat’s proposal was later dropped from the legislation.

You are right about the need for quick communications and Samuel Adams and company in 1772 formed the Committee of Correspondence at an official town meeting in Boston to alert other committees of British moves.

I think it is too dangerous for treepers to get together physically at this point. We are rather spread out and the in person meetings need to be local to be most effective going forward. During the worst of their attempts, the internet will be drastically restricted and that assumes the grid remains intact.
CB radio, satellite phones are options but can still be tracked – just not as obvious as cells.

well, I had a bright/dim spot in my day yesterday. Someone here with some smarts, organized a community watch program and invited the police to speak to us. 25/30 of my neighbors turned out for it.
The police said they were in touch with immigration whenever the haitians and somalians were dropped off here. Officers said they were all legal and they have work permits, money, and are looking for places to live and asking where they can go to learn english. I know…..they give money and work permits out at the border like candy. Apparently Purdue is responsible for them being here.
Apparently tied together tennis shoes thrown over electric wires indicates gangs. The color of the shoes is a sign that this area belongs to a specific gang. The couple that organized the community watch program knew about this and are concerned so there was brief talk about that.
Not sure they all understand as there was no discussion about any of the things I know from reading here for 12/14 years and after all, this is a liberal town.

I think these people are trying but you have to take into consideration they are all flaming liberals. That’s what the police implied but I didn’t question them because I don’t want any of these people turning me in. My own brother would report me. The majority of the older people still here were TEACHERS. They work on the basis of FWEELINGS. They really are nutz. It’s my hometown but I have to keep a low profile. What am I doing here? I’m a dummy and this is the only place I have family. I was thrilled about the community watch because I’ve had some really weird things happening to me. 1 am knocks on the door, sirens in front of my house in the middle of the night, etc.
Stay grey lady, as long as they do not know that you do not agree with them, they won’t come after you. Meanwhile arm yourself and find a buddy to accompany you when it is no longer safe to go it alone.
But it sounds like a good start; calling for a community meeting and officers showing up. Keeping the conversation going personalizes their community members to the officers, or so we’re told, and makes the officers more aware of how their community really works.

A good follow up would be how Biden is currently lying about the strength of the economy or our “secure” border. Are the American people tired of being lied to by Biden?
Trump has a “target rich environment” to score debate points… if he can stay on point concisely and succinctly, which frankly, is a struggle for him in such venues. I do hope he is learning on this cycle to do better.
We absolutely NEED to get this line of thinking into the alternative media we all use. Dan Bongino, despite his otherwise powerful support against the machine, will not even DREAM of considering whether or not “we are the Baddies?” His position on Putin as the aggressor completely missed the reality of relentless use of NATO as a tool of global expansion.
We have to establish in the MAIN STREAM that there is so much pretending going on.
The framing is VERY obvious and easy to consume. To put it in another way:
“The Pretending Government” is a concept which is VERY consumer friendly and easy to understand.
We need Trump pushing it. We need Breitbart pushing it. We need even the Alternative media we DON’T like pushing it. The pretending is obvious and is used to destroy this country and it doesn’t require that any “conspiracy theory” be debunked. They say and do opposite things all of the time.
On the ground, especially in blue cities with illegal alien problems, the people see all of the public benefits are being sucked up to support the illegals. If we can get THEM to start saying “pretending” that word could invade the entire social consciousness and destroy the whole game they’ve been playing.

After returning from Germany last week, I came to the conclusion that the current TSA is both feckless and useless. At Rhein Main Airport, shoes and belts were left on, and liquids in your water bottle were allowed. (“We have new technology”).
EVERYBODY is body scanned…. all of 5 seconds, then if they have a question about your belt, or what you have in your shoes, you’re pulled aside. Through security in about 5 minutes. Landed JFK, had to gather luggage, clear customs, then rescanned for the stateside flight home. One hour and 30 minutes later, we made it to our gate. Same routine of stripping your belt and shoes off, and TSA wonks loudly telling you to “Keep it moving, keep it moving”. What a bunch of wasted oxygen.
Idiot, clown children are in charge.

With smart technology and retrofitted smart buildings we are getting to the point where our blood is scanned and no further paperwork is necessary. I think the EU is a bit ahead of the curve in this regard.
It may be the reason why authorities knew immediately that some US travelers carried fake Covid “vax” cards. Once they have the equipment in place to scan the Luciferase blood marker barcodes contained within the “vaccines,” there is no further need to produce any papers.
I don’t want to hold up any security line, but I’m not walking barefoot across that filthy floor. So I usually bring socks to put on after I take off my flip-flops.
It is conditioning the US citizen to obey stupid, ineffective processes. It has always been theatre, it is not providing security except guard employment security. The scanners have improved and are more capable.
At this point, nobody nefarious is hiding anything in their shoes or belts.

I was going through the Fort Meyers Airport last week – the worthless TSA were really mean and rude to a 90 year guy in a wheel chair – they demanded he walk through the metal detector – he said he couldn’t walk – the TSA start yelling at him to get up – then they took his cane away and put it on the scanner belt. It was horrible – but normal for the useless TSA.
TSA at the Phoenix Az. airport told my Alzheimer’s-onset dad (he was flying home after visiting his dying brother) to remove his belt. My dad, not understanding – and I was not allowed to be next to him – simply took his pants and underwear off and flashed the whole TSA contingent.
I still wonder if, at that moment, his mind was as clear as a sunny day and he simply thought what’s better than mooning someone? The grin on his face as he winked at me from the other side of the partition glass still makes me laugh.
If I had been with him, I would have gotten arrested for assault with a cane.
And beginning August 1, canines entering the USA must be at least 6 months old, recent health certificate signed by veterinarian, microchipped, appear healthy, and more. This is far more strict than the requirements for humans to come into the USA. Vacationers traveling with dogs beware…
If you asked most people to explain what role DHS plays as an agency–most would think of the airports which makes a sort of nice cover for their nefarious activities. I used to see them around the ports–mostly driving around. I knew a lot of people who worked in the ports, too–but never heard that they did anything there either. Back then (I can’t speak to now) the ports were rather porous as well. Lots of illegal Chinese coming in through cargo containers.
Shoe Bomber is way up on my s**t list. It is a job trying to remove shoes and put them back on after gathering up all your stuff when you are my age. At the airport beginning next year, TSA will require that your driver’s license or Identification Card be stamped “real” ID or you must provide proof of citizenship with either a passport or birth certificate. Only legal citizens must show proof of their citizenship. Our country is doomed.

I remember back in 2001-02 hearing that one of the main reasons for 9/11 was because the previously existing agencies were all too “siloed” and therefore we needed new agencies that could “fill in the gaps”. But what we got instead was a bunch of new agencies where legal, transparent activity is still “siloed” while illegal, covert activity is highly integrated amongst the “anointed”. The obvious solution is eliminate all of it created since 9/11. For thousands of years peoples protected their frontiers with military. If not to defend the nations borders what the hell is the purpose of any military?
