The Rasmussen poll showing Trump with a 10 point lead makes sense given the NYT report that Trump is leading among women voters by 8%, a 21% swing from 2020 when Biden won the group by 13%.
And also given the Iowa poll showing Trump leading by 18%, after winning by 8% in 2020.
This also flies in the face of the recent fake NPR poll showing Biden leading with Independents, when just about every other poll shows Trump well ahead with Independents.
NY Times has Biden leading among women voters by 8%, not Trump. Biden was 13% ahead among women voters in 2020, so he’s down 5% from 2020 but still well ahead. The unfortunate fact is that suburban women decide elections, and women overall make up a majority of voters. That is why the GOP needs massive turnout/ballot collecting efforts targeted at Gen Z men. The demographics of who votes are not favorable to our side.

I don’t pay attention to many prices, but I do notice the price of six pack Caffeine Free Diet Coke since they are almost non-existent and I buy them when I see them. A few months ago, the price in Walmart was $3.98 for the six pack. Then price went to $4.98 and the ones I purchased in the last couple of weeks were $5.18. I don’t remember the price before Joey took office and ruined the economy.
Prices per package are up, yes.
But in many instances, the package sizes have also been reduced, intentionally hiding some of the impact. What used to be in a 14 or 12 oz package is now being sold in 12 or 10 oz packages.
Measured at unit prices, the food inflation has been dramatic the past 4 years, particularly so with more processed foodstuffs. You’re paying more in many cases for less product.

Many of those 1 lb packages are now 12 oz packages of pasta, but same size box. Hidden inflation to the max.

I make my own… it is so easy, I was shocked! I bought myself a hand crank pasta machine from Italy and have been having a blast! I have made ravioli, spaghetti and fettuccine so far. 2 cups of flour, 3 eggs and a little water, if needed, to bring it all together. Let the dough rest for a bit then start having fun! Takes about 10 minutes.

What could actually lower healthcare costs for seniors is if the federal government brings back the Trump Rebate Rule.
In 2020, President Trump announced a policy that provided seniors the chance to capture the rebates that drug manufacturers pay back to pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) for preferred placement on the insurers’ drug formularies. The rebate was designed to help seniors with very expensive medications. At the time, Trump proposed a concrete plan for helping those seniors, and the total savings could be billions and billions for them.
And although Biden has been publicly critical of PBMs himself, his administration killed Trump’s rebate rule when PBMs filed a lawsuit against it. Now, this could have just been a prudent move on their part to postpone the rule until it was resolved in the courts, or it could have been a blatantly political stunt to kill one of Trump’s policies so he couldn’t claim it as a win in his re-election.
And seniors weren’t getting any money back, because the Biden administration needed to rob Medicare to subsidize Chinese electric vehicles (EV) with $300 billion in tax credits. As we’ve previously reported previously:

I can and have pointed to literal hundreds of such examples over the last 15+ years writing this column both in areas of economics and otherwise. It is not just that we are no longer progressing beyond where we were in the 1960s in this regard; we couldn’t even do that again right here and now as we’ve lost the drive required to place competence and engineering before feelings.
This, above all else, is why health care is now 20% of GDP instead of 4% yet despite this wild-eyed spending we get worse results. It is why we spend nearly $30,000 a year per student in Chicago’s public schools yet even in the 1990s the vast majority of the “graduates” could not do four-function arithmetic with paper and pencil nor write a basic business letter, a fact I can speak to because I tested every applicant at my company and kept the records as a defense against being sued under a false claim of “discrimination.” It has gotten much worse since with some schools having literally nobody who reads or calculates at grade level — and yet people believe we should spend even more. It is why we have driven mandates for various “safety” features in vehicles yet the number of crashes has not gone down but the cost-per-crash has wildly accelerated, thus so have both car and insurance costs. And we’ve come to believe in both the stock market and the rest of our lives that we can spend more than we take in, effectively charging the difference on a credit card, and there is no limit to this profligacy nor do we ever have to stop doing it.
None of that is in fact sustainable and that your toilet still flushes, the water in your tap is still (excepting Flint, of course) drinkable, the lights work when you flip the switch and the overpass you are on (or condo you are in) will not collapse while you are where such an event can kill you is far more-tenuous today than at any time in America in the last hundred years. Yes, we all have our “smartphones” but we seem to have forgotten that while having a world of information at your fingertips is great refusing to demand engineering come before feelings and rewarding failure with even more money, refusing to actually earn the funds first and rather putting it all on the credit card, will eventually fold back and when it does it might be so bad that in fact the lights do not come on when you flip that switch.

Even if 1% of the derivatives pyramid loses counterparties because they have become insolvent, that is more than 10 trillion dollars of a black hole. If that 1% becomes 5%, that is more than 50 trillion dollars, ie, more than the GDP of the entire world.
The possibility of a house of cards collapse is still very much on the table, and should one begin, the flexibility of governments to avert it will have been reduced by the enormous debt they’ve run up trying to paper over the first wave of The Great Unwind and The Great Reset (note that Great Reset term being used in a 14 year old article – W).

The Heritage Oversight project has set their sights on three contentious swing states where they believe taking Biden off the Democratic ticket would not allow anyone else to replace him: Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin does not allow withdrawal from the ballot for any reason besides death.
In Nevada, no changes can be made to the ballot after 5 p.m. on the fourth Friday in June of an election year or ‘a nominee dies or is adjudicated insane or mentally incompetent.’
If Biden were to withdraw less than 60 days before the election Georgia his name will remain on the ballot but no votes will be counted.
In Texas, the two party’s nominees have until the 74th day before the election to withdraw from the ballot. Some states, like South Carolina, do not allow candidates to withdraw for political reasons.
