Nitely update.
I ate real food pot roast tonite and did fine, so hopefully restrictions will be dropped tomorrow.

Had abdominal and chest CT Scan, today in preperation for installing a feeding tube, tomorrow.

Two factoids seem to be in contrast, but aren’t.

I am healing from the biopsy, and the tracheostomy surgery, and swelling is going down, hence I can eat real food.

And, in a week or so when I start chemo/radiation, I simply won’t feel like eating, hence the feeding tube.

Increased my pain meds, and see correlated reduction in BP, which is good.

Looks like monday they will R&R the tracheotomy tube, and then I’ll be ready to go home, a 350 mile adventure in itself.

So, all good, my spirits are up, and cracking up the nurses.

By what right do we become “a royal priesthood”? By the right of the Atonement. Are we prepared to leave ourselves resolutely alone and to launch out into the priestly work of prayer? The continual grubbing on the inside to see whether we are what we ought to be generates a self-centered, morbid type of Christianity, not the robust, simple life of the child of God. Until we get into a right relationship to God, it is a case of hanging on by the skin of our teeth, and we say – What a wonderful victory I have got! There is nothing indicative of the miracle of Redemption in that. Launch out in reckless belief that the Redemption is complete, and then bother no more about yourself, but begin to do as Jesus Christ said – pray for the saints, pray for all men. Pray on the realization that you are only perfect in Christ Jesus, not on this plea – “O Lord, I have done my best, please hear me.”
 
How long is it going to take God to free us from the morbid habit of thinking about ourselves? We must get sick unto death of ourselves, until there is no longer any surprise at anything God can tell us about ourselves. We cannot touch the depths of meanness in ourselves. There is only one place where we are right, and that is in Christ Jesus. When we are there, then we have to pour out for all we are worth in this ministry of the interior.

When you grab a bag of red grapes in the market, you may notice that they come from Chile. The fresh pineapple was imported from Costa Rica. Watermelon came up from Mexico, kiwi from Belize, and mango from Columbia. The cultivation of the fruit in your salad has many origins, and you delight in their varied flavors and colors.

 However, when your spiritual fruit bowl runs over with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, there is a single Source: the Holy Spirit of God.

Take note that fruit is singular—each of these character traits is part of the others, and they are displayed when your spirit is so connected with the Holy Spirit that every attitude reflects Christ in you to others.  

Dr. J. Ligon Duncan, chancellor of the Reformed Theological Seminary, says, “If one is missing, then we do not have the fruit of the Spirit.” He adds, “These are not FRUITS but FRUIT. The ‘works’ of the flesh are plural and Paul enumerates seventeen of them in detail (Galatians 5:18-21).

But the ’fruit’ of the Spirit is singular and consists of three groups of virtues: 1. Personal fruit—love, joy, peace. These have to do with our own subjective personal life. 2. Outreaching fruit to others—longsuffering, gentleness, goodness. This is our attitude in grace toward others. 3. Up-reaching fruit—toward God. They are faith, meekness, temperance. Nine parts of one fruit, all supplied by the Spirit. It covers our complete responsibility toward God, our fellow man, and others. “ 

Theologian Charles H. Spurgeon said, “Fruit comes from a rooted abiding.”

 If the fruit of the Spirit is not evident in your life, check how deeply you are abiding in Jesus. One commentator said, “Although God also made lemons, he doesn’t want your face to look like you suck on them all day!” Stay connected to the true Cultivar of the fruit in your life, the Holy Spirit. As you do, your joy will be full, and the Father will be glorified.

Pray that believers in Congress deepen their abiding in Christ and exhibit the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Sharing a sentiment spoken by John Oliver that I found to be very profound (interesting how the Scots seem to be so good at that.)
Not only is an unalienable right something that cannot be taken away by any other human being, it also cannot be given away by the person for which it is bestowed. God gave it to you and only He may take it away.
For anyone to relinquish or squander their unalienable rights to governments or anyone else is akin to suicide, we just don’t have that right and to do so is a mistrust of our Creator based on the parable of the talents.
Lord help me to not bury them in the ground out of fear of losing them.

“Pop and no Kick”

That phrase “Pop and no Kick” is used to describe a malfunction in a semi automatic or fully automatic firearm or the ammunition in which either the primer of a round discharges but the primary powder charge doesn’t. Or when the primary powder charge does discharge it is not powerful enough to propel that bullet out of the barrel. 

In the first case the problem is easy to identify and easily corrected. In the second case if the round had enough power to cycle the action there by ejecting the spent casing and loading a new round in the chamber it will be catastrophic for the weapon and quite possibly for the shooter if another round is discharged.

Well it is turning out that the “unprecedented” and “extremely dangerous” “heat dome” heat wave is a Pop and no Kick. The government and their press have a lot of Pop and no Kick malfunctions. Unfortunately, they are never of the kind that is catastrophic for the weapons or the shooters. 

Not a single weather station in the United States Historical Climate Network (USHCN) has recorded a new record high temperature so far and it is now appears the much publicized and hyped heatwave is past it’s peak for most areas.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Evening Prayer For Forgiveness

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
 
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
 
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
 
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Evening Prayer For Future Guidance

Heavenly Father, as I lie down to sleep tonight, I pray that You would guard my sleeping and protect my mind from wandering thoughts and unnecessary planning. Teach me to wait for Your perfect timing and not to try to plan my future in my own strength.
 
Lord, I know that You have scheduled every day of my life. Help me to trust You in all things and rely on You to lead me along the straight path and guide me in the direction that You would have me to go.
 
Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing, and may I not trust in my own abilities and scheming, but rather rest in Your love and trust my future into Your hands.
 
And so now Lord, I commit this night to you, asking that I would rest soundly and wake refreshed and strong to do Your bidding. This I ask in Jesus’ precious name,

Prayer For Grace At The End Of The Day

Heavenly Father, as the day is drawing to its close I ask that Your continued love and presence be with me and with all that are Your children in Christ. Guard us through the long hours of darkness this night I pray, and keep us safe from all harm and dangers that may try to cross our threshold. 

Give us, I pray, an untroubled night of rest and quietness of heart. May we be refreshed and renewed in body, soul and spirit as we rest our weary hearts in You through the hours of the night. 

Lord, I pray that by Your great grace and mercy, You would grant us untroubled sleep so that we may rise up in the morning strong to do Your bidding. May we all rejoice for the dawn of a new day, knowing that Your mercies are new every morning. In Jesus’ name,
