Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Alan Turing
(1912-1954)
British mathematician and computer scientist pioneer (Turing Machine), commits suicide at 41 (b. 1912)
Biography: Turing was a highly influential computer scientist and cryptanalyst who developed the Turing machine, one of the most important theoretical models of a computer. In this regard he is considered to be the father of artificial intelligence and of computer science.
During World War II Turing worked at the UK’s code-breaking headquarters at Bletchley Park. Here he played a pivotal role in breaking coded German messages through the Enigma machine, many of which helped the Allies win several crucial battles. One estimate puts the number of lives saved by Turing’s work at as many as 14 million.
Turing was never fully recognized during his lifetime due to his homosexuality, which was then a crime in the UK. He was prosecuted in 1952 and underwent forced castration as a punishment. He died in 1954 of cyanide poisoning, at the time ruled as suicide but possibly accidental. In 2009 the British government formally apologized to Turing, and Queen Elizabeth II granted him a pardon in 2013. The Alan Turing law is named after him, which granted pardons to men convicted of homosexuality when it was a crime.
This is a very special performance. It appears to have been made in the late 70’s or early 80’s. This was a time when Pepe’ was recording with the famous Academy of St.-Martin-in-the-Fields chamber orchestra. Simply put his performances with this fine orchestra are iconic. In my estimation, Pepe’s playing of the Aranjuez is itself iconic.
In this performance, Pepe’ is most likely playing what was at the time a new guitar. It was made by Miguel Rodriguez of Cordoba, Spain. Pepe’s was so in love with he new guitar that he named it “La Wonderful”. It is generally regarded as one of the finest guitars ever made.
Thanks Garrison. This is really special.
Also, thanks for the Elliot Fisk, who I have listened to for many years, however this seemed also very special as he strayed from convention quite a lot I felt.
And finally, I so enjoyed Jagoda Swidzinska’s Chaconne. Especially the fast runs in the middle – so articulate, yet up to tempo which is so impossible!
I forgot to say that I wish you the very best and special day today. God bless you my friend.
Backat’cha friend . . . 🙂
Because of their location it is only natural for the Siccas guys to focus on mainly European—most of whom most Americans have never heard of. That’s perfectly ok with me, it’s their site after all and they can post whomever they like. What’s impressive to me is the quality of players like Jagoda because, regardless of where she’s from, I have a keen respect for the talent and dedication it takes to get that good. The Siccas guys understand that also.
Truly spectacular! In my humble opinion, one of the best pieces ever written. This video makes it even more meaningful. Thanks for posting

I’m LATE this morning. I’m sure I’ll be forgiven as I’ve just returned from the society wedding of the year in Blighty!! I sneaked in by an unguarded side door 😎💕
Oh MY!! In Chester where I used to shop.
The Duke of Westminster, whose wedding it was, has the most GORGEOUS Garden Centre on his massive estate where we spent many an hour and many a £££ filling our beautiful Welsh garden.
One of the guests in her wedding finery enjoying a cup of tea before the ceremony 😉
Hats are absolutely de rigeur!!
Also the Daily Mail coverage of the event. The photos are fabulous!!

I’ll have to check out the pictures of the wedding, Betsy. Sounds lovely and so neat that you used to shop at the garden centre there. I need to find a nice botanical gardens here in Central Indiana. We had them in Washington State, specifically in Bellevue…. but rarely do I experience them here.
The Shalom House garden tour is coming next weekend where residences open up their lawns and gardens to feed the needy. Such a great cause and a really nice tour.
I need a flower fix.
And maybe a lunch or afternoon tea fix??? 😍

Another too busy day kept me away, ‘Woo darlin. Sorry 🙂
Good morning, Garrison😘 I first heard this when I was a freshman at UT on an LP recording belonging to my roommate. I was captivated immediately.
Grabbing a cup of ☕☕☕ to listen to the master himself do it the ultimate justice.
Garrison,
Now that Savannah is home with me all the time, I was playing this in the background while I worked. She was working on her book report and she said “What are you listening to?”
She really liked it. You may have influenced a younger generation on Pepe Romero. I shared with her your Sicca Guitars youtube love, as well.
Hope so, darlin’. Sorry to be so late tonight. Lot’s going on. . . 🙂

DON’T SLACK OFF
“Whatever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do.” John xiv. 13
Am I fulfilling this ministry of the interior? There is no snare or any danger of infatuation or pride in intercession, it is a hidden ministry that brings forth fruit whereby the Father is glorified. Am I allowing my spiritual life to be frittered away, or am I bringing it all to one centre – the Atonement of my Lord? Is Jesus Christ more and more dominating every interest in my life? If the one central point, the great exerting influence in my life is the Atonement of the Lord, then every phase of my life will bear fruit for Him.
I must take time to realize what is the central point of power. Do I give one minute out of sixty to concentrate upon it? “If ye abide in Me” – continue to act and think and work from that centre – “ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Am I abiding? Am I taking time to abide? What is the greatest factor of power in my life? Is it work, service, sacrifice for others, or trying to work for God? The thing that ought to exert the greatest power in my life is the Atonement of the Lord. It is not the thing we spend the most time on that moulds us most; the greatest element is the thing that exerts most power. We must determine to be limited and concentrate our affinities.
“Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do.” The disciple who abides in Jesus IS the will of God, and his apparently free choices are God’s fore-ordained decrees. Mysterious? Logically contradictory and absurd? Yes, but a glorious truth to a saint.

Verse of the Day for Friday, June 7, 2024
✟
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
A BROKEN HEART
Refreshing rain falls at dawn;
Pulsating pain throbs thereon;
Devouring dark woebegone;
Reliving rift cast upon!
Emptiness is – at best;
Openness to – be blessed;
Loneliness to fill the void;
Peacefulness to be enjoyed!
Knowing not just how to proceed;
Gasping; grappling to fill the need;
Betraying all so carefully taught;
Warbling woe – dolefully distraught!
Broken bastion defiled with sorrow;
Token turmoil signals the morrow;
Desperately dangling by a thread;
Covetously clinging to the dread!
Beckoning God a cry aloud;
Hearkening the Spirit avowed;
Awakening awe to exhume;
Allowing angels sweet perfume!
Attending attention to prayer;
Prostrating prevention to despair;
Lifting listlessness up on high;
Loving lowliness with a sigh!
Repenting; relinquishing all to Him;
Releasing; replenishing to the brim;
Lovingly laying the burden aside;
Securely saving a place to reside!
Reasonably realizing the vanity;
Bordering; basking on insanity;
Refusing reproving dangerously;
Anguishing; angering anxiously!
Lovingly, knowingly His Spirit He sent;
Imposing, imploring the need to repent;
Rebuking, relinquishing the control;
Disarming, disavowing His console!
Freely forgiving the fool heartedness;
Allowing His Love to replace distress;
Remembering love can conquer all;
Without love we are destined to fall!
Love of neighbor begins within you;
Loving yourself is critical, too;
Emotionally even and adept;
Protectively proper the heart is kept!
A heart that is broken can be repaired;
By His suffering and death; Jesus cared;
For all who are hurting and feeling reviled;
For all Jesus had compassion complied!
Suffering senselessly, He gave His all;
So you must do so that you do not fall;
The deception of evil is so perverse;
Resist all temptation; reverse the curse!
Feelings are not facts, but do cloud your mind;
No rational thought will you ever find;
With your feelings rampant out of control;
There’s no turning back; no way to console!
Give all your love and honor to Jesus;
He died on the tree to save and ease us;
When you are weak; it is He who is strong;
In His loving care is where you belong!

Morning
Men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Luke 18:1
Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. Luke 11:5-8
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Eph. 6:18
I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. As a prince hast thou power with God and with men. Gen. 32:26, 28
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Col. 4:2
[Jesus] went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12
Evening
Forgive all my sins. Psa. 25:18

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Isa. 43:25

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Eph. 1:7
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 3:5-6
Having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Col. 2:13-14
Bless the LORD, O my soul…. who forgiveth all thine iniquities. Psa. 103:2-3

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. – Proverbs 17:22
Your attitudes affect your body’s health. The mind-body connection has been studied by physicians, philosophers, and theologians for centuries.
King Solomon speaks of it in today’s verse from Proverbs.
According to a survey from the National Institutes of Health, during the COVID pandemic, more than 21 million adults in the United States said they experienced at least one major episode of depression. Even before COVID hit, 16.5 percent of American adults were using prescriptions for mental health issues, with depression topping the list.
When one’s inner thoughts and emotions are positive, a heart is joyful, happy, and full of cheer, alleviating symptoms of depression. Studies from the American College of Cardiology and Johns Hopkins, among others, have demonstrated the powerful influence of one’s emotions over the body. One commentator wrote, “A cheerful, contented temperament not only fortifies your mental health, but it enables us to resist the attacks of physical disease.”
Looking at your own circumstances, the declining condition of values in America, or just listening to or reading the news may get you down. Though God understands, He does not want you in that condition.
The psalmist and others remind you to look to the Lord, His faithfulness, His goodness to you, His plans for the earth, to give Him thanks and worship Him. Spend time in His Word—it is your spiritual medicine chest. Those actions will serve as the kick-start for a merry heart.
Find your joy and hope in the Lord (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). Then let your inner joy radiate with a smile on your face – you will find it is contagious!
Pray for the emotional and mental health of candidates for the coming election, and that those who are downhearted seek solace in Jesus.

Greetings Treepers!
🙏✝️🙏
God morning and blessed be His Name Who is forever on our lips in prayers, Treepers!
The tax warrant is cleared – thank God. He is also seeking counsel with the referral I gave him. (If they don’t listen to you, give them someone else they will listen to. Let them think it’s their own idea. Whatever it takes to get the point across!) I like the counselor and the new IT guy we contracted. Praying over the team we are building to continue to grow this small company I work for. Praying for a lifting of the barriers that continue to wreak a self-destructive behavior in the owner.
Savannah is formally enrolled. Added another Grammar class. The course work is going to be intense. “Daunting” is my new favorite word. I need to replace that with “overcome”, “resilience”, “perseverence”, and “rigorous exercise”! My cowardice is showing, but I feel my fatigue intimately, like I am carrying a 40 lb sack over my head. Have to work on this, too.
Savannah is reading Dale Carnegie’s “How To Win Friends and Influence People” over the summer. She reads a chapter and writes me a small paper on it and I critique it… correcting grammar… offering suggestions on word usage and expounding on her thoughts. Her first word was “expository” as in expository writing. Next word is “expound”.
I don’t care how young or old someone is… this book can… and should… be read a hundred times in a lifetime. Once a year. I haven’t put that into practice myself, but reading her remarks on the book returns it to the rightful place of endearment in my heart and mind. Part of my Caterpillar days, when I attended the formal training from Dale Carnegie in Long Beach, CA… it brings back great memories for me of when life and times made sense. My Texas boss, Peter Holt and Larry Mills, were good buddies with Ken Blanchard of values based leadership fame. Ken is still active on LinkedIn and I connected with him briefly before I removed my profile entirely from social media. All this and DISC personality profiling and behavioral assessment were big in those days. Not to just know ourselves, but to understand others and to identify their needs to serve them effectively and holistically. We were to look ahead at the risks and develop solutions to mitigate them efficiently.
I had the very best training in the world. Why the companies of today would pivot away and encourage all this anti-meritocracy… I just simply don’t understand! This is a pendulum, though, and it will swing back. So while the colleges are immersing themselves in social justice, we will fly under the radar and study the fundamental building blocks of good leadership. There will be a vacuum of good and qualified people when this house of cards falls. Be ready!
The very best training, though, is in our Holy Bible. Say what you will about Christianity, but God keeps it really simple for us.
“Do unto others as you would want them to do to you.”
“Commit your ways to the Lord and He Will make your paths straight.”
“All things work for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His Purpose.”
“A fool and his money are soon separated.”
“It’s better to live on the corner of a roof than deal with a nagging wife.”
“Fathers do not exasperate your children.”
Our Constitution, too. It’s really not hard, or “daunting”, to read! Our teachers steer clear of it, though, because the last thing our government wants us to know… is that we have rights, what they mean, and how to teach and assert them. If you want a great, thoughtful, enjoyable course on this… I encourage you to find http://www.PatriotAcademy.com and enroll in “Biblical Citizenship”. It’s available online and in person. It’s worth it and you’ll be amazed at the history you will learn and how remarkable our country’s founding was and how thoughtful our founding fathers were in their constitutional construct. Do it and please tell me your thoughts on the course to encourage others.
We had a saying when I was a young kid working at an inorganic chemical manufacturer as an administrative assistant to the Vice President / Chemical Engineer in San Antonio… we had these KISS stickers that would go on the packaging for the materials. “Keep It Simple Stupid”. Don’t eat it. Don’t mix it with other things. Don’t stick it in your eye.
Keep it simple.
Speak plainly and forthrightly.
Don’t embellish.
Don’t obfuscate. (Savannah’s word for tomorrow.)
Speak life and light.
Mean your compliments. Mean every word.
I’m applying for a small part-time gig. I don’t sleep much anyway and seem to work better with intermittent naps instead of trying to sleep through the night. Plus, I need to feel a bit more financially secure when my day time boss takes us to the brink. Sometimes you can’t fix stupid, so you have to put some distance between yourself and the risks. The side gig won’t pay the bills or support us, but it will give me some exercise to clear my mind and a little relief with the added expenditure of private school again.
Sending blessings your way, Treepers. Speak life and light. Love to you all.
I agree 100%. There will be a massive shortage of strong independent leaders who can problem solve in the near future.
I’m a supervisor for a construction company. I see within the entire industry a lack of critical thinking and problem solving.
Workers have two goals:
1. Get through the day doing the least possible.
2. Go home early.
There is zero regard for productivity. It is exhausting to try and inspire and literally pull the team through each day.
I think I will get my two kids to read the book you just mentioned. By far the most destructive event to ever happen to our kids was the invention of the smart phone. My wife and I are so diligent about their internet time, but still I watch them waste away the time.
Very interesting post this Friday morning.
DD
Hi Dan Dale,
With the investment the manufacturers are making into the FAME program, they are seeing what you are witnessing too. The DOE has been at this since at least 2010 to 2013 – and they have destroyed a full generation of kids coming up through the high schools. We are combatting it aggressively, and challenging the system every chance we get… but if other parents don’t step up and DEMAND CHANGE, we won’t see it until the institutions crumble on their own merit.
Soon, it will be a badge of honor to NOT be college educated. Do we really want that?
We must resort to our Plan B’s. I can see apprenticeship becoming the new normal… and we would likely be wiser for it, without the student debt to boot.
Hope you enjoy the book with your kids. It’s a good one, plus I am really enjoying reading Savannah’s papers on it. It gives me insight into what she is thinking and what is weighing heavily on her mind.
Praying for you today–that your Friday won’t be a “Monday”! 😉
I hope your daughter will be able to work to pay for at least part of her education. It will make it SOOO much more valuable to her!
Kudzu,
Many, many thanks, dear pal. Where would I be without the support of this Tree? I really appreciate your prayers and am honored to receive them. May you and yours be blessed, too, with great comfort from our Lord, Jesus Christ. He makes everything easier and our yokes lighter.
Savannah IS helping to pay. She makes $11/hour and she is kicking in on the tuition to meet the benchmarks. She is a contributor in part covering some of her own expenses – in this last case purchasing two pairs of shoes and a backpack for college that was on sale. With the shoes, one pair is fitting for her job and she loves their comfort standing on her feet for her longer shifts, plus they are slip proof. Nice to see she’s learning quality and economy. She also got a “leather like” backpack, that was nicer and sleeker for college – for only $21 marked down from $60. We buy things on discount and clearance early, so we have them when the needs arise for the future.
It’s going to be one remarkable “season” for us and we are at the foot of the mountain looking up. Lord, help me keep my eyes on base camp to base camp – and just get us through these next 29 months!
Thank you for your blessings and prayers!
That’s great that you’re helping your daughter “adult” now! SO many kids today have no idea how to do that because their parents never taught them–or made them! I’m convinced that the lack of responsibility and excess materialism prevent people from maturing (and make them feel entitled). It sounds like you’re a great parent, though!
Yes, keep your eyes on the prize and not on the stumbling steps you’re taking to get there. Remember the runner in the race isn’t looking at his feet but at the end goal. I pray for you, confident that our great and loving Father will carry you and your daughter through this because He is faithful (even when we–I–am faithless)!
I think you made a good choice, dear ‘Woo. Savanna seriously needed to get out of that toxic high school.
When I was a principal I always argued against the idea of students repeating grades because, as Savanna has experienced, she’s ready to be a grown-up and begin having grown-up experiences. Can’t imagine having to ride on that school bus every day . . .
On line educations has it’s own special demands of course (that’s were you can help a lot) but I’m confident that with your help she’ll soon develop the new adaptive strategies to find success. Y’all done real good!
Good evening, Garrison,
The toxic school needs to have its administration removed and re-fitted with appropriate teachers and leaders. It is disgusting what is happening to our children. They are purposefully graduating illiterate children who are unable to critically think for themselves. They are creating wards of the State.
Agree with all you say about the Constitution JWoo. True Texas Project, here, is a group with a model for getting things done in Texas. They also incorporate a Constitution Class in their membership activities. They have satellite groups throughout Texas.
That sounds like a great group, Wethepeople.
Good morning Treepers, I miss you. Scanning briefly occasionally. Praying for U.S., you, and us.
God is good, all the time.
What a blessing to see you, CountryDoc!
I am praying for you by name, as well. We can see from the patient’s side what you contend with and you are a MIGHT WARRIOR IN HIS NAME, so take heart and take ground… dear friend!
Good morning all.
Going to put the roof on the back porch of Steve’s log cabin on today. Roger is coming over and he and I will do it. Steve and Betty have been precuting the 1/1/2″ thick rough cut roof decking and Roger and I will put it up and then staple the high tech underlayment cloth that does a better job than tar paper. Then put the metal roof on.
Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day for working outside.
Last night Steve and I watched the Sprints and Midgets run at Lincoln Park in Putmanville, IN. Tonight they’lll be running down in Bloomington. It is Indiana Midget week so they’ll be racing through Sunday.
Be careful up there, Rah and Roger! You are the most awesome neighbors I know!
it’s done. I did the stuff that required standing on the roof. First we put down the rows of rough cut planks for the base and nailed it in with a framing nail gun. I climbed up and measured and nailed it. Rodger stayed on the latter handing stuff up and down and Steve cut the rough cut wood planks to the dimensions I gave him.
Then we put down the Owens Corning underlayment that is better than tar paper. Do not staple it. Use plastic caped nails and you’re end result will be better and far more water tight. had to take the bottom row of screws out of the metal roofing already on the cabin to slide top edge of the new underlayment under the lower edge of the existing underlayment that was under the existing roofing. It went quick with Steve on a ladder on one end and Rodger on the other pulling the sheet tight and sawing it back and forth while I reached over and pulled up the metal and edge of the existing underlayment so the new would go under. Then when it was where we wanted it I nailed it down using a roofing hammer with a magnetic end for hold the small nails. They go in like tacs except sometimes it takes several blows to drive them home if the wood is hard or there is knot.
Then you go with the metal roofing. Steve already had the proper number of sheets cut to size. Rodger got a sheet. Steve slid it up. I pulled up one end of the existing metal to get the new underneath and the Rodger pushed on the other corner as I lifted up the existing metal as necessary.
The way to do metal roofing is to start in the center and work to the edges. First sheet put in with a single screw in case you have to adjust, then put the sheets on each side in and see if everything is square. One you know your square put a couple more screws in each sheet and from there on you should have no problems.
After the 7 new sheets were down I put the screws back in that I had removed from the sheet above and then measured one drill length down from the bottom edge of the existing sheet and put a row in while Steve screwed in the bottom edge of the new sheets. Then Steve cut a gauge stick 27″ long and he held that at the bottom and I used it as a guide to put the last row of screws in. And we were done for the day!
Steve Wyn from across the street is going to come over tomorrow and he’ll put the the 8 pieces of end caps on and then all roofing will be finally complete. Steve is relieved to have that done before they do the 2nd knee replacement later this month.
Once he’s out of action again as he recovers I will be back to feeding and walking Cooper the Beagle and taking care of the cats. Probably be 5-6 weeks. Steve is 75 years old and major surgery takes a lot out of you at that age and I figure the second knee replacement will take longer for him to recover from than the 1st.
You men are marvels. This cabin sure sounds nice. There’s something exceptional about knowing every nook and cranny it took to build it. Construction is such a fun trade watching a dream come to fruition.
Enjoy the fruits of your labors.
I just laughed so hard my sides hurt……
It was worth it.
Nice job Patience.
I love the flamingo a little too much. Lol. Totally something I would do!
Blessed morning, Patience and Ma. Gotta scoot.

I was trying to find an emoji program that worked here. The one I’ve used for years no longer is working on this site = *Emoji by Saverio Morelli (Sav22999)*.
The same thing did happen one time a couple of years ago but after a maybe 5-6 weeks weeks it began working again.
This is what I get when I try. This is supposed to be our flag –>

I have a very limited list of a few images that do work here, for me, but I have to type the text for instance if I want to use sad face emoji I must use colon marks before and after the word
for instance if I type sad = 🙁 otherwise this is what I get—

Ugh.
Mornin’ all!
Is there some kind of law regarding eating 1/2 box See’s candy while fooling around on internet through out the night?
Asking for a friend.
Nope. Not a law against it, anyway. Maybe should pass a proclamation of sorts. Good morning to you, nwtex.
Whew! That’s a relief. THX. Top ‘o the ‘morn to ya well.
Yes… it’s called the law of physics and my body has been the test dummy for decades…. It’s all good in the name of research. We do it so other people don’t have to…
It’s a thankless job
But as they say………………..”somebody’s gotta….” 😎
😂
Awww 🙂 Well now, ain’t we just wonderful 😉
Oh my, oh my

I think I discovered one of the ways they will steal the election. Hear me out.
On YouTube there are ads for “health subsidy” saying you can get “6,400” in free health subsidies that you can spend on whatever. I always laughed at the clear scam commercial but a homeless friend of mine actually called one of these places. They took all his vitals and said the card will be issued. It never was. When he called back they had so many excuses.
That’s when it dawned on me. This scam is another way to get large amounts of people’s vital info to later be used for ballots. Targeting the least likely people to notice they voted in 10 different states. The call centers are funded to get large amounts of real names to be used for another steal. Check it out and see what y’all think.
Oh my gosh!!
Nothin’ but love xo
Ummmm familiar sound track 🙂
awww there’s that gal in the background doin her musical thing. Makes me so happy
If that had been my cat, after sniffing my arm, he would have bit it. I don’t know why, but my cat does a lot of sniff, sniff, sniff, rest mouth on arm with tooth poking me, then BITE!!!
It MUST be love!
Indeed…………. for the 2 of you 😉
Not sure who to attribute this quote to, but I agree…
“Why don’t the 99% of us who aren’t offended by everything quit catering to the 1% who are?”
This is not good news for our Australian friends; latest Jessica Rose substack on tests of the modified mRNA shot lots that were administered in Australia were/are full of DNA contamination:

Thanks LA. In essence criminals literally have been told (and experienced) there are no consequences to committing crimes unless it’s a major felony….I say major because many felonies have been reduced to misdemeanor and bail isn’t required for such sooooo it’s back out to the streets to cause more harm and upset.
Poor delivery guy. I feel badly for him!!
Whoa!!!!!
terrorist atrocity, and you paid for it (your tax dollars, at least)

Makes me tremble!
I have this small pressure pot. It is quickly becoming one of my greatest treasures for cooking. It is small, so works for the two of us quite nicely and super simple to clean up after.
I picked up some small pork medallions from our local farm to table butcher. Great big pack of them, and the medallions were about 3 to 4 ounces each, so if you went to a restaurant, you’d likely be served two to a plate. I sectioned them out and froze them, 2 to a pack yielding about 8 packs, with the 8th holding 3. So 17 pork medallions for about $17.
We were busy last night with a Moms for Liberty viewing of the “War on Children” produced by the Starbuck family (Alvin Lui is in it and he is a neighbor and acquaintance of mine)
We are trying to be frugal, so rather than order something quick – I took four of those FROZEN pork medallions, added did the following:
About 1″ to 1 1/2″ of water just barely to the top of the porkAdded two teaspoons of low sodium Better Than Beef bouillon paste, with one teaspoon smeared over and shared between two medallionsCracked black pepper1 teaspoon of Herbs de Provence
Sealed the pot, brought up to boiling just until the pressure indicator popped up, then turned down to low – for about 15 minutes.
Made penne pasta and broccoli, cauliflower, carrot veggie blend.
After 15 minutes, turned off the heat and released the steam. Took the pork out and seared it under the top broiler of the oven for a few moments for a nice caramel effect.
Took a bit of flour and water and made a gravy out of the broth in the pressure pot.
Savannah was delighted! The pork was as tender and flaked like fish. It was delicious – in fifteen minutes!!! The leftovers for a whole other meal today were, again, just as tender and flaky as the night before and not at all dry.
This pot makes the BEST BONE BROTH I have ever had! You can throw a frozen chicken – we use a cornish game hen between us… and pop it in there with a carrot, celery stalk, and a whole lemon cut into quarters, with about 3″ of water and in 45 minutes from frozen solid have the best chicken and broth ever. Throw some good old fashioned homemade egg noodles in there and just continue cooking on stove top with lid off until tender. The chicken falls apart.
It’s so simple and easy to clean up without creating a ton of heat in the house.
Zavor DUO 6.3 Quart Multi-Setting Pressure Cooker with Digital Cookbook and Steamer Basket – Polished Stainless Steel (ZCWDU02)
Not a commercial – and I don’t make anything for the referral. It’s just sooooooo SIMPLE and I think often of folks who live by themselves and may not want to put a lot of effort into wholesome dinners. This is such an awesome trick to share!!!
thx, J
my sister uses one, just recently for canning food – she’s getting into a bit of a survivalist mindset
I may try one after I get settled after a household move, mainly on the basis of your testimonial. just wanted to let you know I appreciate you going to the trouble of writing it
thx
