The inside skinny:
An anti-Islamification speaker, Michael Stürzenberger, spoke at a town square in Mannheim Germany. A follower of the peaceful religion took offence and went on a knife stabbing spree.
German police were there, likely to monitor and curtail the anti-Islamification group, which the German government likely sees as enemies, like they do with AfD – Alternative fur Deutschland, a conservative group
As the mostly peaceful stabber was waging mayhem, one of the police tackled an anti-islamification supporter (instead of – you know – tackling the stabber)
Mostly peaceful stabber then attacked the policeman and stabbed him several times hilt-deep on the knife
Having that backstory, here’s how it was reported in the press:
A police officer has died after being stabbed multiple times by an Afghan migrant who attacked an anti-Islamification rally in Mannheim, Germany on Friday.
Public broadcaster Deutsche Welle reports that local police and prosecutors confirmed that the officer died after being stabbed several times around his neck and head. The officer, identified as “Rouven L” was initially put into an artificially induced coma while doctors tried to save his life, however, such efforts proved unsuccessful.
“He underwent an emergency operation immediately after the crime and was put into an artificial coma, but succumbed to his serious injuries late in the afternoon on Sunday, June 2,” a joint police-prosecutor statement said. “We mourn a police officer who gave his life for our safety.”
The injuries suffered by the officer were sustained during a stabbing rampage carried out by a 25-year-old migrant from Afghanistan who reportedly came to Germany in 2014.
The horrific attack, which was captured on video and shared widely on social media, occurred at a small anti-Islamification rally in Mannheim on Friday organised by Michael Stürzenberger, an activist of the “Citizens’ Movement Pax Europa” campaign group.
The migrant knifeman, identified as “Sulaiman A.”, came upon the rally and stabbed Stürzenberger and four other members of the group. During the chaotic scramble, Officer Rouven was filmed diving on one of the members of the rally after which the Afghan knifeman approached the policeman from behind and stabbed him several times.

Four days after an Afghan migrant suspect attacked an anti-Islamification rally in Germany, police have decided there was probably a religious extremist motive.
A police officer was killed and five other people, including a veteran right-wing political campaigner, were stabbed in the German city of Mannheim last week. A 25-year-old Afghan migrant is accused of having charged the setup of a political rally event in the town square with a knife in an apparent terror attack.
As ever, authorities were circumspect about attributing a motivation to the attack but now believe it is possible a knife attack by a migrant on an anti-Islamification rally may have had an “Islamist motive”.
This development comes from Germany’s Federal justice minister Marco Buschmann (centrist liberal Free Democrat party, the smallest of the government coalition partners), who revealed the Federal Prosecutor General was taking over the investigation from local police, as is common with political crimes in the country.

Indeed it does, and it affects me on a subliminal level. If I hear a great symphony, or some wholesome popular music from an era when music was such, or even watch a great positivity oriented movie, I revert back to a mindset I had many decades ago before having been exposed to the soul numbing influences we have been bombarded with for so long. I get the urge to hug my wife and do something nice for someone. It’s like a switch being flipped reverting me to a better time. Can’t explain it any better than that, but it is very real.
It is very real, John. And the reason that I never watch music videos, I don’t care what type of music is playing.
I want to retreat to that place of my own where the visions and feelings I get by listening are my own. If that makes any sense. There is nothing more exhilarating for me than to hear a symphony, concerto, or choral work that I have never heard that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up…and something else which I have never found adequate words to describe.
I think you fared far better explaining your feelings than ever I have been able to. Bless you for that.

such as chair seat weaving and broom making (first, harvesting the correct plant material and preparing it)
Ma’s mother (born 1906) was a very gifted (and patient) tatterer -and other- lace maker.
-The few pieces of her work that I have are truly beautiful treasures
and they are used; not kept in a drawer.
She could take a piece of fabric, transfer her hand drawn design, hand stitch the outline of the design, count the threads… pull out and cut the thread etc.
What I find even more amazing is that she did those things; gladly,
while raising six children, praying her rosary daily, sewed all her and her family’s clothes; while being the homemaker
-and a wife. 😳

Pinterest helps feeds this interest but I’ve also discovered that I am not an original person to be able to create my own designs…but yet, there are so many beautiful creations that I want to do it all haha! I lament that there are so few women left to teach the old ways. Today’s parent focuses on sports and entertainment for childhood activities. I do wish that someone in my family would have taught me this priceless art. Now I’m relegated to needlework books which I buy every chance I get. My dad learned how to tat from his mother-in-law (she passed before I was born) and he then really got into it when he chose to quite smoking; had to do something with his hands! I still have some of her laces that she made.
I don’t have anything ‘old’ to hang on to! I’m learning though that it takes ‘forever’ to create a beautiful piece whether art or clothes and I definitely would not throw it away! So happy for you to have cherished pieces in your possession! ☺

At God’s right hand Christ performs all the functions of ruler, high priest, and advocate, yet he came to that place through suffering and endurance, i.e., by way of the cross.”
Look to Jesus, as today’s verse says. When you magnify Him, you are less focused on yourself and more intentional about running the race He has set before you.
It could be that you have to endure great suffering and pain.
Theologian John Piper said, “If you see things with the eyes of God, there is a vapor’s breath of loss and pain, and then everlasting joy.”
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He never stops looking at you! Pray for followers of Christ in the nation’s judiciary to maintain God’s perspective.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I am literally in our orchard picking apricots. Decided to give my creaky back a rest and saw this. Love it!
Picked over 100 pounds with much more to go. Running out of folks to foist them on! Yesterday afternoon we went to a little Mexican place we’ve been going to for over 30 years – brought apricots for our server (whom we have known decades) and patrons – it was fun.
Daughter and grandson are coming for lunch. Apricot ice cream is on the menu! Easy peasy.

Patience,
I make ice cream in a little electric ice cream maker from Cuisinart.
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups heavy cream
Pinch salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
(I use all heavy cream, and 1/2 cup sugar)
Takes 15 to 20 minutes in the ice cream maker. Freeze if you want it more firm, otherwise it’s more like soft serve.
Yum Yum Yum!
I add cocoa, instant coffee,
fruit, anything you like.

How to make a kick butt brandy alexander that is like an ice cream dessert:
Use a metal drink shaker or metal sports drink bottle.
Cup or more whole milk
Good size scoop vanilla ice cream
2 to 3 (or 4) shots brandy
Pinch cinnamon or nutmeg
2 to 3 ice cubes
Put lid on & shake till the ice cubes stop rattling
Pour in an open mouthed pedestaled glass
(like an old Champaign, or margarita glass).
Serve with dessert spoon🤣
Can add stewed raisins or butter roasted pecans

night when company drank me out of wine. 😁.
