Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

🇺🇸 Make America GOSPEL’d Again! 👍

Sunday’s a good day for a nice motorcycle ride upstate
I don’t wanna give it up
I wanna stay married
My Ducati 350 Desmo was so much faster than I was that it scared the pee out of me. So, I decided that I’d stick to fast 4 wheels. 🙂
Focus determines the trajectory of the mind and heart.
So turn your eyes toward Jesus.
Devotional (text and audio)
Welcome Treepers and CTH visitors. This is our customary Sunday Treeper Church benediction. This is where we connect with our Lord, recognize his many blessings, and appreciate the past week. This is a space where we can commune with Our Lord. It is a space were we can—one hopes—reflect on our blessings. Do you know when you are blessed? Sometimes you have to listen carefully to hear Our Lord’s gentle voice. I hope all our Treeper friends and Treeper visitors have a wonderful and very blessed Sunday. May we all have a wonderful and blessed coming week. Be blessed and be well, friends.
Very nice, Garrison… an excellent series of choices for this Sunday morning,.
Voces8 performances stand the test of time . . . 🙂
Howdy Garrison!
Good morning, GrandpaM and benzy!
Afternoon JWoo. I’m still greeting at church. Another half hour to go.
Hugs and handshakes for all, M. Folks need that warmth especially now.
Evening Gramps. Just got here after a long, busy day. Lot’s more going on that I like . . . 🙂
Listening to “Sleep” by Eric Whitacre, I found myself tears streaming deeply needing a performance of beauty.
Not just some epic musical works whose existence serves the backdrop of movies in cinema, the chorale of voices in harmony lifts praises to the Creator for Whom those voices were made! When you sing on stage as I used to long ago, the sound comes from the pit of your diagram… way down in your guts… and the sound physically lifts you as you launch it out, expelling with it every level of emotion emoted from the music you are presenting.
It can be a deeply personal experience. It can move a hardened and calloused heart.
It is no surprise that God values such performance so highly as to have it surround Him in His Holy of Holies, in His Throne Room.
Thank you and blessings on you dear G. Make a joyful noise!
AMEN AMEN AMEN
Good Morning sweet Woo. Peace be with you
Agree entirely, dear ‘Woo. And so would most of the good musician I’ve been lucky enough to know.
My very first friend when we moved here in ’68 is a classical guitarist. He was giving a concert. We stopped unpacking boxes and attended. We became instant friends. Saw him again last week. We hadn’t talked in a long time. Still, we picked up pretty much where we left off.
Good Morning dear treeper with your words well spoken and played in music.
Thank you for your thoughtful presence it is of these qualities that are needed
in times like these. Peace be with you
And peace be with you, also, friend. 🙂
Beautiful VOCES8.
Thank you!
🙂
God Mornin’ Garrison
Yesterday our temps were 100+. This morning I’m listening to your exquisite selections in 55°, 2nd cuppa, throwing the ever present tennis ball to Kari & Kelli. It will be over 100 again in a few hours, but for now…pretty much perfect! Thank you.
It’s good to take perfection when we find it . . . It’ll be awhile before Texas mornings are 55 degrees. Sigh. 🙂
Garrison,
Humidity is a bear! One of the main reasons I’m a desert rat. However, it’ll be a few months before our daytime high is under 100.
Don’t make the black girls angry …
ASSAULT! Caitlin Clark – The Savior of the WNBA – Pummeled by Chicago Players During Game – Angel Reese Gets In on the Action! – VIDEOS
No big deal. She is just getting some of her “privileges” knocked out of her.
yeah, particularly that one
you know – that one we keep hearing about
incessantly
way more than we’d care to
so much I don’t pay it no mind anymore
gnomesayin’?
It’s like watching a basketball game and a BLM peaceful protest breaks out…
😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣
Made me laugh, ed
But…..it’s also true!
Love to see Caitlin show up at a Trump rally – heads splodin’ everywhere.
Exactly who are the racists? Hmmm…..
ask ’em
the honest ones will tell you some of them are the most raycisssss people on earth
‘mostly’ peaceful, ed … ‘mostly’ peaceful
Should have been at least a flagrant. And the racist expletive should have gotten her ejected.
The WNBA had been on life support before Caitlin came along. They’re making a bad move allowing her to be continually hacked. The racism and jealousy is on display by opponents in nearly every game.
The more Clark remains calm and moves on, the more people see the unfairness.
And the racism and jealousy directed toward her.
I hope she turns that team around and that they win EVERYTHING.
I’d hope Michael Jordan contacts her to explain how he was beat on, particularly by the Pistons with their “Jordan Rules”, and that he advises and motivates her.
May she be SO GOOD that they have to actually start playing fair in an effort to win against her.
Unbelievable watching this, and watching people try to justify this terrible behavior.
…….and there is actually a comical element here. The more they do this to Clark?
The more they let HER KNOW that THEY KNOW they are not as good as her. They are just so blinded by jealousy and racism that they cannot see it.
Well spoken Greg1 live by word spoken in action. Peace
While agree with your sentiment, I suspect that if the WNBA continues to allow that conduct it will escalate. They could easily stop it by starting the hand out fines.
din’t catch the expletive, haven’t watched any with the sound on
Don’t much like bullies, rah. Brings out the red-neck in me. . . 🙂
I learned not to anger them in grade school. Never touch their braids.
I went to Anderson HS that had a black student body making up 8% of the total. But they seems to think there were more of them. One day early in my Jr. year I was seated next to a black girl that stank and had nappy lint filled hair. I couldn’t stand the smell. I raised my hand in class and asked for a different seat. When asked why I told the truth.
When leaving class she was right outside the door and smacked me hard right between the shoulder blades. I decked her. I never got in trouble. She laid hands of me first. From that time until I graduated I only had trouble with one other black person. He tried to pull a straight razor on me in the power mechanics class (shop) and learned the hard way also. Those of us in the “A” club lettering in sports were a kind of student policing force.
Different times.
I’m surprised Caitlin chose to come here. Wouldn’t have even been on my list. Sad state of women’s sports.
God Mornin’ Woo
I’m not a basketball aficionado, but, I think Indiana came in last in 2023, so they got first pick – Caitlin of course.
Someone more knowledgeable than I please correct me.
I was a baseball nutcase since early childhood really. I could quote you statistics, scored games just for fun, never missed a Red Sox game etc. But, when they went all take a knee, BLM, drag queen night for kids, I dropped them cold turkey. Miss it sometimes, but so what?
“Don’t ask yourself why children need to see drag queens, ask yourself why drag queens want an audience of children”
Don’t need to ask, Nim. It’s right out in the open these days.
You and Savannah would get on nicely, Corny. Our little red head mascot. She’s not so little, really.
She’s a sports junky, though she too has no patience for those who demean our country.
I worked for Peter Holt owner of the Spurs back in the twin tower of power days of David Robinson and Tim Duncan. I have funny stories there of Peter and the players.
Really good times and considering I’m a Hoosier, I should love it more.
Greg Popovich is a full blown whack-a-doodle though.
Holt’s daughter runs the show now and the dealer and the franchise scream woke. Which is super sad. Has no place in the CAT world especially that dealer that has the deepest roots. Peter is the great grandson of Benjamin Holt who invented the track type tractor at Best Machinery and Stockton Wheel in California that created the Caterpillar of today.
Kiddo is awake after sleeping in from the drive in movie and wants to go to the Red Gold (tomatoes) factory to see where it is. About an hour and fifteen minutes from home on country roads. It’s closed, but she’s super interested and I want to feed that.
Before feeding her academic and occupational passion… I’m pressure cooking a seasoned butterflied lamb leg, making butter beans from dry beans, green beans and oven-roasted potatoes…. or mashed, can’t decide. But if I don’t feed her before we hit the road.. we will be tempted to eat out.
Watching our p’s and q’s.
Checkback in later, y’all. Stay cool and in the air conditioning, Corny. Hope the burros have plenty of cool tubs to soak in and shade for comfort. Give them rub downs for us.
Sunday dinner is ready. Y’all come on!
Aldis lamb is really the best. From frozen to delicious in 45 minutes in a pressure cooker.
Finally success with gluten free pop overseas this morning!
Popovers- auto correct grrrrr
Those look delicious!!! I’ve never mastered popovers. I can do a nice sponge, but popovers and yorkshire pudding eludes me, and also most yeast breads. I have one good recipe for a Crusty Bread that is four ingredients and dummy proof… but it is not gluten free.
Woo
Popovers need very high heat for 20 min(425) and then 10 minutes at 350. Must never open the stove while baking, and….heat the pan to 425 before adding the batter. Works!
I’d been having difficulty getting the gluten free to be worthwhile, but got it today. Feeling good about it. 😁
Looking delicious, JWoo! And a double dose of fiber to boot. 😁
We will be eating cold lamb sandwiches for a while. Into the freezer with leftovers.
I suspect Savannah and I would have a blast together! My mom had, and grandson has, the real deal red hair like Savannah: mine is appropriated via the use of several different tubes!
You have had such a varied and interesting work history – mine was so monolithic (sigh). You should write a book. I would be first in line to read it!
I love my Instantpot pressure cooker. It makes such short work out of things. We picked 40 pounds of apricots yesterday and have another 100 at least to go. Instantpot to the rescue.
Wheezie and Mazie have a little homemade barn we built – and yes it has a cooler in it. Those of you who have lived in the desert southwest would know about swamp coolers (aka evaporative coolers). They are basically a big box with a fan and method to add humidity to the air to lower the temperature. They work great in very low humidity, not so well during monsoon season. We also have a misting system for them, and they have lots of trees.
I’m actually on my way out to buy a new fan for the feral kitties in the garage. Too hot for them too! You and Savvy (because she is!) have fun.
I listened to this with headphone and oh my how wonderful it sounded. Whatever concerns I entered with, I left with none. Thanks for sharing this selection.
headphones ♥️
🙂
🙂
Got it. Yes. Thanks! 🙂
A really fine player. He just got posted a short time ago. Thank you Siccas guitars . . . 🙂
Dynamic range 🙂
Look at the JOY on this man’s face! Hubba hubba! What a hunk! Yes, please.. play me a song… around the fire… and smile at me. (swoon)
My guess is he’d enjoy the chance to play some music for you, dear ‘Woo. 🙂
Garrison: The precision with which these guitar players place their fingers blows my mind. The fine muscle control is something to behold.
Years of hard practice combined with astounding talent = virtuosity.
I probably came across this tiktok girl here at Treehouse, she’s pretty captivating, very charming voice
click on the title, not the photo
“I am an Appalachian…” – GIFs – Imgur
I learnt those words as a kid goin to see grampa in tennysee … but the population there was a whole 56 …. no idea where they was a hi din tho.
Several hundred cows tho just across the road from his house & every “bottom” land there was next to the road.
Texan is a little easier to comprehend tho, most tourists are/were Texans … kinda boycotting CO right now cause the ID ten T’s in Denver were trying to take DJT off the primary ballot … It was still there tho when I voted for him tho. Got 2 to mail in one for the senile guy too since I registered independent & have a choice.
I’ll be interested to see what that does to CO’s tax revenues vs prior years … it definitely hit the hotel tax biggly here locally.
.
.
Yes, they all had that … voice in tennysee.
I think my accent has turned more Texan than Tennessean now … tho Y’all is the same for both.
Perhaps JWoo will comment & can be the judge … Hoosier may still be mixed in & predominate too.
Went to a computer & mini bike camp in the early 80’s in NW PA … most all the other campers were from Jersey & thought I was from the deep south … LOL … but that went both ways, was hard for me to understand um … (Hebrew) related humor, eating habits & customs at that age.
Well, I can’t rightly judge – I found you articulate and midwestern in dialect… didn’t sense the deep drawls. Moving around the country will do that for you. One becomes a little more heinz 57 than mississippi hot sauce.
Only if I get tired, wound up, or around others from Tejas does my twisted version of midwest/valley girl/texan shine through. I can drop a “like all y’all”… with the best of them. And don’t get me mad… I’m a hen peckin’ at that point!
And that there dog don’t hunt.
Thanks JWoo, I guess alot of my Texas dialect is rather forced when I’m at their door delivering pizza.
I guess 44 years as a Hoosier it won’t really change much.
Most of the Tennessee … descriptions aka gully washer were from grandma & mom …. just harder to understand with the grand’s in TN dialect.
Funny tho, my singing voice has changed after 8 years of karaoke, was listening to last weeks show that I recorded, can’t say I recognized it … so different that when I first started … at least its for the better.
“By n By” “Directly” “Cornbread and buttermilk”
LOL … Grandma (IN) pronunciation was Drek ly.
This Appalachian American heartily approves! Lord Have Mercy!
And “Bless your heart!”
All God’s creatures, great and small
Glorious little hummer
Just beautiful, Error
Our hummers have nests everywhere – we have to be careful not to disturb – Mama Will buzz you!
WOW!😍
How cool is that!?
We tend to get a bully that fends of others from “his” feeder.
They’re pretty feisty for their tiny size.
We enjoy sharing space with them.
Error,
They really are so lovely and fun to watch.
We have 8 feeders and they empty every day or two.
Feisty and tough for sure! I have seen these little guys chase off hawks and even ravens if they venture too near their babies.
Low Flying
fantastic
That was magnificent, Feisty.

Nim,
Love these – ours love to sit in a hat or a small basket, though they don’t fit.
good thing they’re not governed by OSHA
Actually quite the brilliant maneuver. It was obviously Friday afternoon and there was no way they were going back to home Depot to rent a scissor lift!
Yep, and the guy in flip-flongs most certainly has a strong foothold on the ladder base, and will clearly be able to shift his weight at the precise instant it’s needed in order to save the guy’s life.
I had a similar thought about how much physical strength it would take to counteract any mishap, and would they realistically be able to exert it … doubtful
Mt St Helens eruption, 1980 I think it was
It’s some 35-40 miles away and it took something like a minute-and-a-half for the sound to reach him
(I’ve got the exact figures in a file somewhere but don’t want to look for it just now)
That is an incredible photo. I lived in that area, and I remember the layer of volcanic dust that had settled on everything. It was like a black snow only it did not melt away in the noon day sun.
Good thing he was on that side of the eruption … I think he would have been vaporized in front of it … even at that distance, went there with a co worker who’s parents lived in Portland, suggested we go there as it was the 15th anniversary & Johnston ridge interpretive center was just opening up … which I promptly renamed dumb @ss ridge … as if you are standing / observing from that distance, you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Mr Johnston got some good video/photos tho … I don’t think they ever found a trace of him tho, just the cameras.
Trees that were 3-6 feet in diameter were snapped off like tooth picks about 10-15 feet up from the stump way before you got near that ridge, probably still there, GOVT drew a big line around the blast zone as essentially no go zone to see what happens to it over time.
Need to go back & compare like… next year … would be a 30 year comparison for me, 45 from original blast.
I highly recommend a trip there.
Spirit Lake was picked up and move 1,000 feet in elevation. Remarkable. Was there at 25 years.
Gives incredible Spiritual insight to The Lord breathing life into ashes. Glorious area!
thx JWoo
presume that means Spirit Lake ended up 1,000 feet LOWER, as that flank of the mountain slumped?
I think it filled in with pyroclastic flow, so it went up in altitude <only about 200 ft tho>… it was also sterilized … nothing in it … it should be in the no go/touch zone & will be left alone to study … instead of restocking the fish.
In the downtown area here, the river has eroded the flow by at least 100 or more feet … but houses are built on top of the flow … I don’t believe I would have built on top of it but to each his own … nice views tho from the top.
I had mentioned something about if ever there was an earthquake here I was leaving … was at the bank conversing with teller … shes like … why?
We have hot springs here… that is a town draw … its volcanic … earthquake means active again and everything here becomes valueless when it blows. She was clueless as to the meaning. /shrug/
When I was at Spirit Lake 25 years after the eruption, plant life had returned to the lake. It was crystal clear and you could see all the way to the bottom. It was beautiful. Now, 44 years later, it has recovered enough to support aquatic life again. Amazing stuff!
No, it actually was picked up and relocated up the slope – not down. Isn’t that crazy! Here’s a story about it. This story reads 60 meters and a google search reads about 200 feet… but I thought I remembered the video at the Johnson Ridge observatory saying 1,000 feet. I must have been misremembered and the 1,000 feet was talking in elevation?
Whichever is true – the debris worked like a tidal wave pushing it up the terrain of the mountain.
https://www.americanscientist.org/article/science-after-the-volcano-blew
“How far did Spirit Lake move up the mountain when Mount Saint Helens erupted in 1980?Spirit Lake, a popular tourist destination in Washington state, was significantly impacted by the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens. The eruption caused a massive landslide, which displaced the water from the lake and lifted the lake bed 200 feet into the air. This movement was a result of the avalanche that came crashing down onto the lake, displacing the water to such a degree that it produced huge waves that washed across the mountain landscape.
In summary, Spirit Lake moved up the mountain by 200 feet when Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980.”
The eruptions of 1980 took out over 70% of the glaciers on the mountain. But now there is a growing glacier in the crater despite a year of explosive geothermal activity in 1983 and a minor eruption in 1990 and on going geothermal activity continuing to the present.
So much for the glaciers are disappearing.
The USGS points out that the glacier in the crater is on the north side of the mountain and walls of the crater are steep so the glacier gets exposed to little sunlight. But atmospheric CO2 is not claimed to make sunlight stronger. It is claimed to make temperatures higher. And yet crater glacier continues to grow.
I was in Portland, Oregon for work when it erupted and even that far away it was an awe inspiring occurrence. The amount of ash was unbelieveable.. I ran through an entire windshield washer fluid bottle just driving home. In the year following the eruption I was lucky to have flown over Mount St. Helens on many occasions on my way to and from Seattle. It was also amazing to see from the perspective of an airplane looking down into the mountain.
nimrodman: March 27, 1980. I drove around the area around 1996 and the extent of devestation was mind-blowing.

So now that this guy is in the news again (started trial today) NOW I’m hearing “attempted r@pe” on the TV broadcasts

then I decide to
just to let all y’all know I don’t post the more disturbing stories indiscriminately

Sorry, Nim
Doesn’t fit the narrative.
It’s like Demonrats who will never say Donald Trump again without the prefix- convicted felon, had no problem elevating convicted felon, George Floyd to sainthood.
Laken is a symbol for so many who have been murdered and harmed by illegals, and I Will Not Forget. 😔
thx for your forceful statement, lady
That was right! Late 1960’s, early 70.s
I not only did that on my bike, I went door-to-door asking people “if they had any kids at this house that I can play with.”
Even being 6-7 years old, I did notice how the elderly couples stifled their laughter when they replied that no, sorry, we don’t have any kids here.
How society has changed.
What a great memory.
We hopped fences and were in other people’s yards all the time. All the neighbors knew every one of us. We used to play “war” – boys against the girls. We girls got smart, created a diversion, and let loose the Chihuahua named “Snickers” so the boys would have to chase after it, while we went in and rescued our friends being held captive. Dodge ball hurt and was fun!
We would play in the ditches, the creeks, the golf course greens, the cement floored playgrounds, no helmets, no phones, no padding, no playground mulch. We got up on roofs. Slept in tents in the yard. Ate tuna fish out of a stainless mixing bowl with potato chips. We paid no mind to the 4′ shallow pools and dived in with full bore cannon balls from 12 ft up in the air. We rarely used sunscreen but used baby oil to attract the sun. We didn’t run home to Mommy when we scraped our knees, we rubbed out the dirt, and moved on!
Were our parents negligent or were they letting kids be kids? Were we the wiser for it learning self-sufficiency?
Society hates children now. No less than $40 to go the movies? Absurd! We had $1.50 movie theaters and the kids filled them and worked at them. Now, a theater is lucky to have 10 to 15 seats filled.
Where I lived, we hopped fences all the time, but there wasn’t anyone else to play with for miles and miles around!
Can you imagine that nowadays? Would never happen. So sad. I miss seeing kids be kids.
Don’t forget the trees!
Ps: I spent half my childhood up a tree.
So did I.
We didn’t have enough mature trees in our neighborhood, only two smaller maples in my yard, but if we had them… we would have been in them.
My father built me an A Frame playhouse on stilts above my swing set. We had an above ground pool with big deck and you could jump from the ladder to the A Frame… or from the porch of the A Frame… over the privacy fence around it and into the pool.
He put a hammer in my hand and I helped build it with him. There was nothing “lazy” about my upbringing.
Two full sized storm windows that tilted up for the breeze. Asphalt shingles and the whole shebang. Plywood, 2×4’s, and 1×6’s.. that thing was a sturdy fortress!
The shed my father built 30 years ago, asking with the cedar planks he lined my closet with are still standing at the property.
Lots of play dates and cookouts at my house. My father was in swim trunks and flip flops all summer.
He’s enjoying his Heaven though and I’m sure glad he’s not here. He was tough as nails and he would already be saddled up and headed off to war. He was fearless against all enemies foreign and domestic. He was no joke.
I was always getting in trouble for climbing our pepper tree in the back yard, and the acacia tree and the garage roof. The top of that old pepper tree was where I went when I’d run away from home. I was 5. I was the only girl on our block so I learned very young to keep up with the boys if I wanted to be included.
Great memories Woo.
I’m a generation older, but have many of the same.
Almost every kids’ dads had been in WWII, so we divied up uniform parts and paraphernalia and played war. Also, other non PC things like cowboys and indians.
There were more bikes in the neighborhood than cars, and we rode everywhere: including to the beach – where we added iodine to the baby oil to get a tan!
Iodine to the oil… that’s funny!!! Is that the secret to a good tan? I would never know. I’m white, burn, peel and I’m white again. No in between!
My father would be 95 if he was alive. He had me late in life. Died at 77 when Savannah was 15 months old. He got to see her though and hold her. He would have been pleased as punch.
She is so much like him. She carries my father’s name.
My son, who was of that generation in the photo, used to walk down to our neighbor’s house (he was an adult friend my age) and ask his wife if he could come out to play. She stifled her laugh and called me so that we could howl together.
They were childless at the time and he loved to play any kind of ball with the neighborhood kids. 😃
Love that!! We had a childless couple in our neighborhood. She couldn’t have kids. I got her husband, Jason, a dodge ball for his birthday.
Spontaneous water balloon fights galore. It was on like Donkey Kong.
We had this unspoken pact that on evenings of accumulating snow… didn’t matter what time it was.. we all suited up and messed up the driveways before the snow removal guys got there. It was a “thing”. Could be at midnight when we were ambushed and pelted.
One summer during an especially egregious water balloon fight… his wife and I who were alone together in the battle, got super smart, and hid in my house. Poured a glass of wine, and while they stalked us… turned on my irrigation system on them. Viewed from my second floor window and howled with laughter.
Game. Set. Match.
Don’t mess with us woman folk.
😄 😁 🤣 😂 😃 😀 😄 😁
Those were the best of times – 70’s into the 80’s.
Yes Woo, good times for my kids too, but woe be to them if one of the neigbor moms, Marge or Phyllis, or Kathy had to reprimand them! We all cared for one another’s kids.
And they were given (back in those days) parental guidance and instruction on life BEFORE they were set “free” on the neighborhood. They knew what they could and could not do and they knew what the consequences would be if they stepped over the line.
’63 or so I was new in town and Mom threw a birthday party for me to gather some kids as potential friends
we had a scavenger hunt with a list of things to collect
I went so far afield looking for stuff – blocks away – that by the time I got back to the house it was much later and all the other kids had gone home
LOL
thanks for tryin’ tho, Mom
LOL is right !
(but cute story ) ♥️
Our neighbor kids are like those in the picture. They are outside all around our whole circle till way after dark. They’re on bicycles, go-carts, small atv’s, hover boards or on foot. Little to no cell phones, no “protection” even on the tiny ones. So very different from California where kids have to be bubble wrapped to walk outside. It’s refreshing to watch kids really playing.
“bubble wrapped” ha ha!!!
Good morning.

WHAT ARE YOU HAUNTED BY?
“What man is he that feareth the Lord?” Psalm xxv. 12
What are you haunted by? You will say – By nothing, but we are all haunted by something, generally by ourselves, or, if we are Christians, by our experience. The Psalmist says we are to be haunted by God. The abiding consciousness of the life is to be God, not thinking about Him. The whole of our life inside and out is to be absolutely haunted by the presence of God. A child’s consciousness is so mother-haunted that although the child is not consciously thinking of its mother, yet when calamity arises, the relationship that abides is that of the mother. So we are to live and move and have our being in God, to look at everything in relation to God, because the abiding consciousness of God pushes itself to the front all the time.
If we are haunted by God, nothing else can get in, no cares, no tribulation, no anxieties. We see now why Our Lord so emphasized the sin of worry. How can we dare be so utterly unbelieving when God is round about us? To be haunted by God is to have an effective barricade against all the onslaughts of the enemy.
“His soul shall dwell at ease.” In tribulation, misunderstanding, slander, in the midst of all these things, if our life is hid with Christ in God, He will keep us at ease. We rob ourselves of the marvelous revelation of this abiding companionship of God. “God is our Refuge” – nothing can come through that shelter.

My wrapping skills are on the lowest level
My wrapped gifts look slightly better, but I still have to sit on the floor to wrap them. Good thing I never applied for one of those jobs in fancy stores where they wrap customers’ gifts for them!
I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I can’t get up and down off the floor to wrap presents anymore–use gift bags, I guess!
Mornin’ all!
Precious moments. Little girls need to know they are important and special.
When they grow up they will expect nothing less from the boys.
beautiful … pure joy
I was informed yesterday by a friend Missouri has a law convicted felons can’t be placed on the ballot and democrats wouldn’t allow slates of electors to be seated/certified due to his being a convicted felon.
He stated democrats knew what they were doing when convicting Trump on any felonious charge.
They’d scramble the entire election process gumming up the courts, and any decisions with cascades of law suits–what else do they ever do?
I’m in Massachusetts, don’t know Missouri or other states’ laws.
I know Federal law states unless convicted of being an insurrectionist–they tried that in Colorado–a candidate can run even from jail. Anyone know if a felony conviction would preclude Trump from winning the presidency due to being stricken from state ballots?
I assume Federal law trumps State–but I’m no Legal Beagle.
Bill,
I can only pray and PRAY HARD… that this was an elaborate set up and that with all the blatant forensic evidence that now exists of TREASON that there will be another coup… one to take this present coup… out permanently. I pray that the forensics reveal now who is with the cabal and that it is destroyed completely.
I half expect an invasion from Russia and China to come in and liberate the American people. I know it’s a very strange thought, but haven’t STRANGER things happened? Is ANYTHING out of the realm of possibility at this point?
Or maybe these illegals streaming in will get wise to their fate that the “American dream” no longer exists and they just traded one form of slavery in their origin nation for another form of slavery here. Won’t that be an interesting wake up call?
Let’s watch this wicked scheme actually turn and attack the very hands that created it. That should absolutely be expected!
Our government is crooked and has committed crimes against humanity in spades and they simply must be removed and destroyed. Our country deserves its freedom and the taxpayers and small businesses released from their bondage.
Our Constitution is the oldest constitution of a country in human history – and it works. It is when it is disregarded, suppressed, and violated that it no longer works. We must restore order and common decency.
It is not the American public who is the enemy. It is the leadership and those who support it.
We must, once again, turn our faces to God and expect the unexpected. God wins!
That is true only for person’s who seek a state ,county or local office in Missouri, not federal

Magic Wand,
Talked to the owners of MELS Starlite drive in last night in Thorntown. It’s always “for sale” but hasn’t been sold. They’ve owned it for 21 years. I sensed sadness in the guy. It’s a dying art and he says that they’re only open on the weekends, but its operation is a daily grind for them. They are, I’m guessing, in their late 60’s. Concessions are good and really affordable. $25 a car load.
It was raining on and off all day yesterday and it drizzled through the movies, which was irritating to have to stay in the car and try to clear the windshield. Garfield was first and it was okay. We gave up about 20 minutes into the second feature “IF” which was a little weird, so we didn’t feel we missed much by leaving.
The drive in still has a volley ball net set up – that no one uses. Sometimes, sometimes…. there’s a good crowd there. Last night only 6 cars. The weather wasn’t great, though.
It’s sad. It’s a great little drive in, but it doesn’t earn a living.
Yea … sounds like they probably paid it off years ago & is free and clear.
As for selling it … good luck … it needs to generate enough revenue to pay a mortgage payment & 150 dollar nights don’t cover even 1 employee.
Shocker … Hollywood ain’t helping with the utter crap they are making.
As it is, for me anyway, hard to take in enough revenue to pay the hard costs to stay open nowadays, much less make a profit to perhaps buy a building or property instead of lining a TX millionaire landlord pockets. sigh
I would love to hire someone to take a load off of my old @ss but … at 17-20 bucks an hour to get a warm body to show up does not get it.
Edit: they may still owe on the equipment upgrade to playing the new media that was forced upon theaters … an encrypted blu ray disc.
Town here had 40k of donations … some sort of grant from Govt … and was 20K of the 80k necessary for the upgrade. Someone stepped up here and covered it tho to keep theater open before WuFlu closed it for what I thought would be permanent … yet to see how long it lasts running old movies & new hollyweird crap from time to time.
Sadly, I don’t think there is a drive-in theater within 200 miles of us anymore. I always loved packing food and a cooler, relaxing, nobody coughing next to you, no gum on the floor, nobody heading past your knees on the 13th trip to the rest room.
Haven’t actually been to a theater in years – last one was a Dinesh D’Souza film. Just can’t support Hollywood and the trash they spew.

✟
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
1 John 4:18 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered. !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
MY CUP OVERFLOWS
His truth overwhelms deeply and daily;
Manifesting blessings aptly and ably;
By those who accept Jesus as Lord;
Whose actions – through faith – afford accord!
His love continues to light up a world;
Congested with turmoil – in truth – unfurled;
Perverse with evil – at every turn;
Wherein for relief – many hearts will yearn!
Justifying – His Word – shines forthwith;
In the least likely place – truth dispels myth;
Just when you think you have heard enough;
The tough get tender; the tender get tough!
The Warring Angels send the demons flying;
The Comforting Angels curtail the lying;
The Spirit surrounds the afflicted in truth;
And dispels the myth created in youth!
Through prayer and remorse, the cold heart softens;
Normally – not quickly – nor as often;
However – at times – the Spirit moves swiftly;
And Grace flows freely to heal quite quickly!
Witnessing the swiftness surely astounds;
The Power of the Spirit – it surrounds;
All who were connected through the airwaves;
Can have no doubt in mind – that Jesus saves!
My Cup Overflows with gratitude;
Happiness reigns without platitude;
No admonition to reel this soul in;
The Love of Jesus flows freely within!
All Praise and Honor and Glory are His;
In Him, Through Him, and With Him it is;
The gift of His Spirit indwelling within;
The ransom He paid – the high price of sin!
Let your cup overflow with happiness today;
Where there is a will; there will be a way;
Patience is a Virtue; a Virtue is a Grace;
Put ‘em both together – you get a Happy Face!

God has a plan you can trust in because God is trustworthy. He sent his Son Jesus, fully God, fully man, fully perfect to die for our sins and be risen to life in victory over death three days later.

On this day in 1918, U.S. Marines fighting at Belleau Wood refuse to withdraw in the face of a sizeable German counter-attack. When a French officer advises the Americans to pull back, a captain named Lloyd Williams offers a now-famous reply: “Retreat, Hell! We just got here!”

Most people don’t know that the US Marine Leathernecks were armed with the 1903 Springfield rifle, while the US Army Doughboys were armed with a copy of the British Enfield.
And BTW June 6th will mark the 80th anniversary of the D-day landings in Normandy. Too bad we don;t have a president capable of rising to the task of marking that historic day of sacrifice and heroism with an eloquent speech. The US D-day veterans trip back to Normandy for to attend the anniversary ceremonies is being paid for my multiple companies, non-profits, and the foundation that Actor Gary Sinise established.
