Thank you for this beautiful picture of our precious flag.
Yesterday in church several of the Veterans showed the correct way to fold the flag while another Veteran explained what each of the thirteen folds represented. I had never heard this explanation before. It was awesome.
If one of our treepers knows where to find this I would like to read it and keep a copy of it. It is something we all should read and remember.
Remember all who have given their lives for us on this special day.
This up close picture reminds me of those that have held the flag in their hands…with grief. It became up close and personal to those families. Thanks marti!

The disciples had to tarry until the day of Pentecost not for their own preparation only; they had to wait until the Lord was glorified historically. As soon as He was glorified, what happened? “Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.” The parenthesis in John vii. 39 (“For the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified”) does not apply to us; the Holy Ghost HAS BEEN given, the Lord IS glorified; the waiting depends not on God’s providence, but on our fitness.
The Holy Spirit’s influence and power were at work before Pentecost, but HE was not here. Immediately Our Lord was glorified in Ascension, the Holy Spirit came into this world, and He has been here ever since. We have to receive the revelation that He is here. The reception of the Holy Spirit is the maintained attitude of a believer. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive quickening life from the ascended Lord.
It is not the baptism of the Holy Ghost which changes men, but the power of the ascended Christ coming into men’s lives by the Holy Ghost that changes them. We too often divorce what the New Testament never divorces. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is not an experience apart from Jesus Christ: it is the evidence of the ascended Christ.
The baptism of the Holy Ghost does not make you think of Time or Eternity, it is one amazing glorious NOW. “This is life eternal that they might know Thee.” Begin to know Him now, and never finish.

My brother was in the Navy. I can remember him hitch-hiking home (York, Pa.) from Maryland for some weekends with family. He is gone now, but I have a lot of memories of time spent with him and the family.

Father was an army poet and part of the New York City Greenwich Village scene of the 30’s and 40’s. I hired a narrator, sadly and obviously, not with an army background, to narrate Incident. I used the gentleman for my Henry Livingston poetry pieces and was testing out whether he’d be good for father’s poetry, too. Just don’t think my voice is right for these pieces.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. On April 23, researcher George Barna released the 2024 American Worldview Inventory. In his research, he found that nearly two-thirds of Americans were “dissatisfied with the way things are going in our country today.” His study further revealed that 96 percent of Americans do not hold a biblical worldview, and, astonishingly, neither do 94 percent of self-identified Christians.
Rather, a good many Americans hold unbiblical beliefs on issues of good and evil, the basic nature of humankind, reliance on “personal truths,” and the spiritual essence of objects, places, creatures, animals, plants, rocks, and rivers (animism).
In 1962, the Supreme Court banned public prayer in elementary, middle, and high schools. In the last decade, the nation’s highest court has had to consider the constitutionality of “In God We Trust” as the national motto on American currency, and the words “Under God” in the pledge of allegiance (both were ruled constitutional).
Just last year, a Utah public school district removed the Bible from elementary and middle schools for containing “vulgarity and violence,” as unsuitable for children. My answer is not just no but HELL NO!
First off I am not aware of anyone of those that pushed the masks, lock downs, injurious COVID jabs, and not allowing people to be with their loved ones when they were on the deathbeds, ask to be forgiven or even apologize.
I have seen no or very little contrition from any of them.
So they apparently will not admit they were wrong and thus would likely do the same thing over again given the same circumstances.
So why should I or anyone think they are to be forgiven? As far as I’m concern they remain a clear and present danger.
Sometimes, we have to hand them over to God for their forgiveness. I, for one… am just too human.
Only God can read the contrite heart.

One thing I’ve been pondering lately is that we need to have the courage to prosecute evil. If there is no meaningful punishment, there is no deterrent to crime. If we fail to punish crime, we fail to protect the innocent and defenseless.
Being forgiven doesn’t mean escaping consequences. King David obtained forgiveness from God, but he suffered a lot of consequences and he knew very well that he deserved them.
As for forgiveness, well, let them go to God about that. If we don’t consistently and lawfully prosecute crime, we are not representing a righteous God, and being so lax is putting people in danger.

Watched “Taking Chance”. Bawled like a baby the whole movie. A very descriptive movie of how even the smallest honors and dignities can mean…. everything.
We had a few pauses in the movie to go over with daughter that even the smallest gestures through her works can mean so much to the families she supports. Whether it’s service in the military, fixing a conveyor line so others can work to support themselves, or quality control in building a car that may someday carry a family and their children.
Every work of our hands is meaningful in the broad scheme of things.
I’m still crying, but staying quiet as a mouse. She’s taking her assessments for online school entry.
