Codeine, which was “highly effective” for throat issues like, chronic cough, tonsillitis, strep, is not often prescribed anymore. Doctors would rather you suffer than prescribe codeine for relief .. Seems like any drug that is inexpensive, and effective , are restricted then disappeared. Often replaced by less effective ,more expensive alternatives. By the way, codeine and paragoric are the purest form of real opium not synthetic. Which answers allot of the questions of why… it is not used. So corrupt.
When it comes to any pain relief it is like pulling teeth to get a prescription. The government has doctors so intimidated they do not do what is in the best interest of their patients. Your healthcare has become secondary to the doctors “well being”. I know I’m off the beaten path but it all comes back to government control.
Back to your point, I agree in principle, the government has no right to restrict the personal decision to use drugs, especially concerning health.

Something occurs to me about this whole WW III we’re teetering into with NATO – are we about to sacrifice blood and more treasure in Europe defending what is now growing into, and what will in just a few decades be, a European caliphate, a brutally oppressive totalitarian regime where Christianity and Judaism will not be tolerated and where women will have to wear full burkas?

In a discussion with my son about some of the war events a few weeks ago, my prime draft age grandson chimed in and said he was not fighting nobody’s war.
I think a large number of our young people are wide awake to the events taking place and are not particularly in favor of the direction things are going.
As a young patriot American, I disapproved of people going to Canada to dodge the draft during the Viet Nam conflict. After what happened there, I will assist my grandson with any means necessary to avoid being a sacrifice for the servants of satan..

Yesterday I went to a chain store, Bi-Mart, they were having a sale on some items I use. Mountain House backpacking meals were on sale for $6.89 a pack. I bought a few packs. The checkout clerk made a comment about how he’s stocking up on them for when things fall apart. It seems that everyone has anxiety and a deep foreboding of something bad is going to happen.

dutchman: True, that the active ingredient(s) in medications may still maintain some degree of potency (which may be sub-clinical) after the expiration date, but expiration date can also apply to the formulation (how the medication “stays together,” or is delivered) and to the packaging–which, in some cases, degrades and fails with time. As you wrote, storage conditions are important.

I don’t and can’t fly. I don’t have the right ID to be able to fly. Because Oregon’s standard drivers license is given to illegals, it’s not recognized as a form of legitimate ID. You have to get an Enhanced Drivers License to be able to fly. The DMV lines are too outrageously stupid long for me to waste my day there. I’m okay with driving to where I want to go to.

As such, it points to a new and worrisome dimension to the conflict, especially when it comes to the potential use of nuclear weapons.
A satellite image taken on May 23 that The War Zone obtained from Planet Labs of the Armavir Radar Station in Russia’s southwestern Krasnodar Krai shows significant debris around one of the site’s two Voronezh-DM radar buildings. These are ultra-high-frequency (UHF) over-the-horizon (OTH) radars that are part of Russia’s nuclear ballistic missile early warning system…it has been pointed out that the attack on Armavir could meet the conditions the Russian government laid out publicly in 2020 for actions that could trigger a nuclear retaliatory strike. Russia’s early warning network is part of the country’s broader nuclear deterrent posture.

The Biden Administration is showering far and wide more than $1 trillion in climate largesse from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Still, who could have thought that taxpayer funds would flow to a left-wing group that thinks “climate justice” involves everything from freeing Palestine to dismantling capitalism?
That’s the discovery made by West Virginia Sen. Shelley Moore Capito’s office. Democrats appropriated $3 billion in the IRA to the Environmental Protection Agency for “environmental justice” grants, including $600 million for a “national grantmaker” program. In December the EPA awarded $50 million to Climate Justice Alliance, a network of nearly 90 affiliates, which plans to use the money to “resource community-based organizations (CBOs) to address past, current, and future environmental health and justice challenges.”
What else does Climate Justice Alliance do? Last November it helped to coordinate a “March on Washington,” where protesters waved the banner “Free Palestine Is a Climate Justice Issue.” Other slogans included “Our Government Funds Palestinian Genocide” and “Only Socialist Revolution Can Stop World War III.”
Climate Justice Alliance’s website also offers a collection of anti-Israel art “that you are invited to use for Palestine solidarity protest actions.” One shows a bulldozer tearing down an Israeli fence. Another has a man waving a Palestinian flag standing atop a tank, with the quotation: “Where there is oppression, there will be resistance.” That line is attributed to Assata Shakur, who fled the U.S. to Cuba after being convicted of murdering a New Jersey state trooper in 1973. A third poster says: “Abolish Prisons Everywhere.”

Contrast all of this with what a Democrat would say under the same circumstances. Heck, contrast it with the vile speech of hate and victimhood Biden gave at Morehouse College this past weekend. The difference is stunning.
What scares Democrats about this rally is that it shows them that the people whose votes they have taken for granted for many decades are starting to leave the Democrat Plantation of Victimhood in favor of the uplifting, empowering message of Donald Trump and his aspiration to make America a place that is “great again” for ALL Americans.

Memorial Day is remembrance for those who died in service of defending this nation.
It is not “Veterans’ Day”; that’s for those who served and weren’t killed. Perhaps for some it was worse than being killed, of course; there are plenty who were seriously maimed of course but do not confuse the two.
This holiday weekend, however, I’d like you to reflect on whether what those people sacrificed for was worth it in the current context. They all thought it was at the time but since they died it falls on we who are alive to justify their sacrifice by keeping what should be operative going forward.
We haven’t and if you don’t admit that to yourself and then dedicate effort to resolving it you’re an *******.
Let’s just take two situations that currently exist, all of which are rank violations of the basic premise of America and all of which we can fix.
First, the pandemic and medical care generally. Nobody should get paid for failure, ever, period. Further, those who actively conspire to do things that bring harm and then lie about it rather than accepting just punishment for their deeds and how they’ve gone wrong should be hunted down, arrested, tried and upon conviction executed. Those who break 100+ year old felony law on a daily basis — and this includes virtually every physician, every hospital and pharmaceutical company should be dismantled and the principals, enablers and willing employees asset-stripped to their underwear along with their entire genetic line and thrown into the street. There is nearly four trillion dollars spent in this area every single year and at least three quarters of it is stolen through illegal acts that were declared criminal felonies at a federal level over a century ago.
Second we could resolve a huge part of the inflation problem including all of it in housing by doing one simple thing: Deport every illegal. While physically doing so would be quite an effort imprisoning anyone who assists, rents to, employs, pays or otherwise enables an illegal immigrant which is absolutely a criminal felony and has been since the 1950s under 8 USC 1324 could be done tomorrow. The first couple of arrests and prosecutions carrying 10 year prison terms would be considered as an “oh he must have been a political enemy of someone” events but after the first few dozen nobody would risk it and every single one of those people would leave.
Don’t want to force any of these things despite ALL OF THEM being illegal for decades?

At The Big Picture, a clip of Sen. John D. Rockefeller (then Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence) discussing how oversight actually works has been posted. It’s from an interview given in 2007, about the time the FISA Amendments Act was being put together to replace the expiring Protect America Act. The amendments act, among other things, extended the length of warrantless surveillance and gave telecoms retroactive immunity for their participation in the NSA’s bulk collections.

Dan Bongino, former secret service agent, says don’t believe the media/FBI/Biden Administration when they say the”Use of Force” protocol used during the Mar a Lago raid was “standard operating procedure”. It was not, especially with a Former President and Secret Service involved which he referred to as “blue on blue” potential lethal conflict. Now Jack Smith wants a gag order on President Trump for inferring that the FBI wanted to “assassinate” President Trump during the raid, if the opportunity existed. There was a “Contingency” protocol included with the raid documents giving authority to the FBI to “engage the Former President of the US and the Secret Service”, as well as provide medical services on site and at a local hospital, if necessary. The FBI did not use normal uniforms, badges and identifying insignia during the raid,which could have caused deadly confusion with the Secret Service protecting Mar a Lago. Why would the FBI do that?? Finally, the Justice Department said they used the same protocol when they “raided” Biden’s home in Delaware, but did not release same documents proving that to the media. I believe that if President Trump had been at Mar a Lago during the raid, his life would have been in serious danger.
Regarding the perspective that Trump’s life was in danger. What I haven’t seen (yet) is an explanation as to why they didn’t already know Trump wasn’t there. Surely that information wasn’t very hard to find?

Earlier this week, I learned that Mises had dismissed Walter Block, a renowned scholar who is widely considered one of the most influential thinkers in the history of Austrian economics. Block is 82 years old and has spent his entire life advancing the principles that Mises scholars claim to stand for. Many of the original founders and current intellectuals within the Austrian school, such as the late Murray Rothbard, considered him both a longtime friend and colleague.
Earlier this week, after hearing Block discuss the news on a podcast, I confirmed with multiple sources at Mises that Walter Block was indeed fired for the act supporting Israel. He was dismissed as a senior fellow without even a statement from the Mises Institute.
