Meant to post yesterday but didn’t. I just want to say I enjoy these posts and the word corrections with explanation. I learn and it helps me understand the original meaning on a deeper level rather than just superficially reading whatever words are used in the various translations. Thanks.
Probably a bit excessive but I own four translations of the bible – KJV, NKJV, ESV and NASB. I check the differences myself sometimes but don’t have the knowledge of the original texts.

We call them the “COB” on a sub. “Chief of the Boat”. And my first COB was a real no kidding Kennedy. Owned a string of restaurants in Hawai’i where I was stationed. So rich he probably had a Scrooge McDuck vault full of money to swim in at night.
Saltiest seadog I ever met though. If he ever sang lullabies I never heard them, and I wouldn’t want to, because if you crossed ways with COB, you were in for a world of hurt. I could imagine if he sang to you that alone would hurt. The guy probably had barnacles for vocal chords. His voice was bad enough talking especially if he got to yelling at you.
We had a Marine on my sub once. He almost made it to getting his Fish. We pushed hard to make it happen but the Skipper refused the final board. That really pissed off the crew. He should have got em. We had him for 6 months for a long mission. He earned the right to a board.

The absolute rebuke of “You do not know Me or My Father.”.
There is unfortunately a lot of priests and pastors in that situation also. They do not know the Father. And they do not know Christ. And many who claim to believe in Christ know neither the Father nor the Son. They adapt their messages to what is popular, not what is true. And Christ here in this passage calls out the Pharisees for this failing. In their case the politics of the day. In our case…the politics of the day. The same failing all over again. And from the day Christ showed His nail-scarred hands to his disciples through the establishment of the Church, the Crusades, the Reformation, the Protestant Revolution, Schisms, life and death of nations and churches into the modern day, the same is true. Christ and his Father. And it is man alone that changes.
And we adapt our attitudes and our beliefs based on what is popular now. But Christ doesn’t change. God doesn’t change. It is we who change, and we think our God must change too. That’s not true. God is our North Star, our guiding Light. We must calibrate to Him, not the other way around. The Pharisees lost that message by that point. That is why Christ had to come then. And enough was revealed to us over 2000 years ago to allow us to realize this and calibrate.

I don’t know what happened to churches in these past few terrible years, Della. It was horrifying to watch them openly serve government rather than God. Those who were the earthly shepherds in all these churches, houses of the Lord, one by one, shut their doors (obeying orders) to all who desperately needed spiritual comfort from the only One who could deliver it. And it there were any open, many physically divided pews within them…”vaccinated” and “non vaccinated”. All breathing the same air.
Much worse was to come as too many churches chose Gaia and celebration of perversion to worship within His house rather than our Creator Who was not so much shoved out the back door, but spat upon. That is how I saw it.
We all need Him. Christ, our One True Shepherd Who will never leave one of His lost flock behind 🕊🙏🏻

Cowardice.
It’s unfortunate, but the defining attribute of most people in Western civilization is abject cowardice.
Nobody stands up to anything. “Go along to get along” is the mantra. Why would we expect our pastors or priests to be any better? I mean we should expect that, but it’s a societal infection of cowardice.
I’m many things, and plenty of them not good, but I’m no coward. And nobody should be a coward. Fear what? Anxiety over what? Screw it, just say it or do it or whatever that thing is you’re so worried about. Whoopiddy Doo Dah, some people will call you names and complain about you. Or the police will arrest you for opening your store or your church or whatever and you get to go complain on the news about it later and who do you think people are going to side with? You, not the cops. And your life isn’t over in any case.
People need to stop being doggone cowards. And I know deep down most people aren’t cowards. It’s just become comfortable to be one now, and that is what is wrong. Society used to shame cowardice. But of course that is not in the best interest of the powerful who want us all to be cowards.
Bit of a rant there, but I reckon it’s a decent enough point to make.

Toyotas. Been working at the plant in Georgetown since 94. I’ve been on lines that have made about every vehicle we’ve produced there. If not the main assembly plant, then in other sections producing parts and engines, not just for that plant, but others as well.
Thankful to not be doing assembly work anymore. I’m crippled from it. Also thankful to God in Heaven to be able to walk and work.
Most of the time I can make it look like nothing is wrong…..to a point.

Not sure what all is going on, but I think some solar flares have taken out some minds. Anyone have their water tested lately for crazy juice??
Savannah has had the worst case of chapped lips and I’ve been witnessing her drink water and hydration boosters. She’s also had a bad bout of eczema on her arm. Her lip looks full on swollen.
We’ve tried it all: cortisone cream, ointments, udder cream, olive oil, Palmers cocoa butter stick, 2 Grams Omega 3, now even throwing Benadryl at it… her lips are so itchy, and starting to crack as if she was dehydrated…
No change to detergents or beauty products. I’m thinking the water???
Our water from our tap at home had strong chlorine smell the other day and she mentioned she’s been refilling a 44 oz water bottle at the school where she says the water smells off… but she’s been thirsty so she’s drinking a lot.
She’s got these skin issues but they’re not happening to me. I filter our drinking water at home. I also keep 50 gallons of potable filtered water in the garage. I think I’ll crack open a jug… just to test it out… replacing the water. Savannah is very fair complected, auburn red hair, so her skin care is practically it’s own budgetary line item.
With as nuts as people are acting… we’ve got garbage insanity at the school again… nothing surprises me anymore.
Last day of school is Wednesday and I can’t get her out of there fast enough. This is such a terrible house of cards that’s crashing down.
They’re failing her left and right on her finals, material she felt certain and confident over. They can take WEEKS to post her basic assignment grades, yet the finals are being graded within one hour after taking them??? I am getting the email alerts grading her in the 20’s out of 80’s??? What in the sam hell?
I asked for copies of the tests and her answers to the questions so I could pinpoint her learning gaps, try to identify a pattern, and discuss them with a focused tutor over the summer.
No. They REFUSE to give them to me. After arguing, they determined I may come in and view them in front of a curriculum officer for a brief allotment of time after signing a two page Non-Disclosure Agreement. !@$^^$#@(&^$#!!@@@
I countered that I may not be fluent enough in Spanish to identify the issues…or have enough experience having not touched college level Algebra in 35 years. I want samples of her work… why am I not entitled to them to aide my daughter who is a special needs student?
And they want an NDA??? Why the secrecy, Alcatraz?
My patience is gone. I will never sign an NDA because I will absolutely exercise my Constituional right to free speech. I demanded they tell me where in the Indiana Code they can withhold my accessibility to my daughter’s performance criteria. Nothing. I checked legally, there’s no copywrite precedence.
They also purposefully tried to put her in a dangerous interaction with another known violent student and I busted them when I was looking for something else. No notification to the threat whatsoever.
The last book was filth. Cursing, sexually explicit, with zero academic substance “Turtles All The Way Down”. Girl frustrated by boyfriend’s rebuffing sexual advances. Boys fixation on bosom and girls body. “F” this, “F” that. Savannah protested and showed the instructor, and the teachers aide… but they both said “Don’t worry, that’s just how they communicate.”
I know we are all probably tired of hearing of the lunacy in schools, and I’m sure as all get out…. tired of experiencing it… but I’m here to tell you…. it is REAL and it is an all out WAR on our kids, our families, and our minds.
The DOE needs to burn to the ground. It’s as corrupt as our government is.
Who supplies the water, If it comes from Eagle Creek Reservoir, they have a past of algae blooms that smell & taste terrible hence more chlorine.

My daughter is a middle school teacher and experiencing a horrible time.
And every year it worsens!
For a long time, her school district was renowned for its excellency.
Now, as it happens in all liberal locations, it is headed into the sewer.
Last week she interviewed for a teaching position in another county. She desperately wants to move.
Not to boast here, but my daughter is a top-notch teacher and one of those rare ones, because it’s her “calling.”
She loves to “teach” and tenderly cares for each child. And they know she loves them.
In the 11th grade, she announced her desire to be a “special education“ teacher.
She would use her school lunch break to spend time with the special ed students who captured her heart.
After college, she taught Special Education several years until the paper monstrosity got too much.
She would take required government paperwork home every evening.
Then, she went on to certify in teaching “gifted” students and is there now.
My daughter loves her “field” (and what she’s been called and trained to do) BUT, she hates her “job” – if that makes sense.
She despises the leadership, and some of the parents and the kids are extremely difficult.
Two weeks ago, a student attempted r.ape twice on girls in bathroom.
Oh, by the way – he’s an illegal.
It was discovered that he doesn’t even live in the school district. Someone drives him 1.5 hours one way.
Last week, my daughter had a student overdose in her classroom.
Ambulance and emergency response came.
My daughter and her students were terribly shaken.
It was found that the student and another had consumed a substance at bus stop. And, they were hiding several vape sticks filled with marigolds in hidden body parts.
Yep, he is an illegal, too.
I know this is long post and am sorry.
But people need to know what’s happening out there.
My daughter, and many others in education, did not sign up for this mess.
So yes, we are in war!
And it affects all of us!

BAWLING reading this. It grieves my heart greatly and I know that some may think me a lunatic for sharing the way I do… but i am called to SOUND THE ALARM. I am a wall watcher – and I can’t help it.
Your precious, precious daughter. Our Lorrie on here. I know there are wonderful ones who are also wringing their hands, biding their time, flying under the radar, and praying to our Loving God and Father for CHANGE.
I am 100% certain that the moment my daughter’s school caught wind of her college intent (which was unknown to us until very very recently) – that they pushed into high gear to PREVENT her from going forward. They are HELL BENT on creating dependency on the government. HELL BENT to break any stand on Christian Principals and Morality.
They caused dissention again in my household with the violent girl that threatened her repeatedly over these years. Caused dissention about the military recruiters meeting with my daughter unbeknownst to me at her school and calling her at work. Then, the more I dug and started to “peel the onion” so to speak – the more ROT I found.
I actually contacted her awful father out of Seattle – to take her for her final year of high school. IT BROKE ME – HE’S TERRIBLE!!!! But, I prayed and I willingly decided that if that was what was needed to save my daughter – then I would give up my parental rights. (It’s been one terribly difficult week.) I thought, too, that maybe he has had a change of heart and would welcome the opportunity to mend his relationship with his daughter. He responded and abandoned her again. Not surprised and his modus operandi, so I was ready for anything… and “anything” I certainly got. That relationship between them is irretrievably broken. He is an incredible narcissist. No change – just dug his heels in deeper. I just can’t reconcile why some parents make the decisions they do that are so detrimental to their children.
Now, with the inability to get a hold of her finals to assess her gaps in learning and enlist the help of a focused tutor to aide towards the collegiate program – now I am left on my own in trying to assess her myself. Thus, I am prayerfully PRAYERFULLY considering completely pulling her and sending her to online school through The Potter’s School – which is an EXCEPTIONAL SCHOOL. (Your daughter should look into teaching there! Online – out of Virginia. Graduation in person is in Virginia – but all is online and serves the ministry communities all over the world. Super flexible schedules. Very inexpensive compared to private institutions.
For me… and for Savannah’s needs (she has 37.5 credit hours out of 40 needed to graduate – but an additional 2 more hours for the collegiate program) – it is roughly $4,000 to drop instantaneously and work like a maniac to piece it all together… like now. Including an optional Study Skills, and Creative Writing course for this summer, and a Christian Apologetics course for next season… which God love her… we both probably need for refreshing.
I can’t begin to convey how I feel like I’m being beaten to death with everything – but I simply must save my daughter and try my best to recover any chances she may have at placement with this university. If her current school keeps her – they will do everything they can to assure she NOT be able to place there. To them, it’s a race to the bottom and destruction.
I’ve never, EVER IN MY LIFE, witnessed anything like this. I will not go down without absolutely fighting.
I’ve written Mike Braun – Republican Governor nominee and current state Senator who I have contact with. I am pushing for the nomination of Paige Miller for placement as head of the IN DOE. She’s a 33 year career teacher and a prize fighter in this cause – for years. It’s an appointed position by the Governor and I’ve a request in for an in-person meeting with Braun to share my written evidence.
I am actively pursuing trying to connect with other parents (I’m not on social media at all – except Nextdoor – so I’m trying to get other parents involved -because these issues are egregious and systemic. Mass exodus of students.)
I am also considering running for office. They may do everything in their power to destroy my daughter’s final year of school, but all they’ve done is made me one mad cow of a parent and I want to destroy them and protect our kids. I am sick of it. What else do I have to live for, if it is not to do everything in my power to protect our children. I just want to be in office to make their lives miserable and block every single agenda of theirs I can to stop this assault on our kids.

I think it’s perfectly wonderful to share your daughter’s achievements. I like hearing stories about your family. Makes you feel more “real” to me and not some online mystery.
I’m interested in teachers’ perspectives through this… because it helps me cut through the ambivalence I’m experiencing from the teachers I’m in contact with here. It’s like they gave up and fell in line, the same way our elected officials did, in lock step with one another. Like they’re automatons reciting the same verse with not the slightest deviation. I just want to shake them and ask “Are you in there? Wake up! Please!”
When things start to feel out of control, I revert back to our family verse, Psalm 139. He created us in intimate detail. He Determined that our world needed a Della, a JWoo, a Savannah for a time such as this. We may be here trying to figure things out, but God Has it ordained perfectly and He Will Equip us when the need arises. Of course, I have a super hard time sitting around… not wanting to be in idle… wanting to make a difference in any small way we can.
Some of our customers and some of my coworkers refuse to know and acknowledge The Lord. They are their own gods. There is such strain in their voices and faces. When I answer the phone and I’m friendly and hopeful… they seem like they are going to grab me for dear life… It is different to observe them from the vantage point of my faith. I pray they come around. They are without excuse now.
I do worry for my daughter. I’m a Mom. Especially when she’s got a strong sense towards the military. I’m not sure I’m ready to see her martyred for this administration. I trust our government… not at all… but I know there will be a need for trusteds from within when the time comes.
I have to lean fully on God because as Corrie ten Boom said “Help me to hold loosely, because it hurts when You Pry from my hands.” She belongs to Him and not to me.
Even if she is accepted in the collegiate program (it’s only 15 months long), she still speaks of military service afterwards and I’m questioning everything with her potentially working for a multi-national… yet with the skillsets she will learn, she could set out on her own and be her own boss.
So much uncertainty. It’s exhausting. Who can make plans in this??? I dislike feeling envious of those who got to live, raise their kids, retire… and even pass on… oblivious to what we are experiencing. Lucky them!
We can’t give up.

Immediately we look at these words of Jesus, we find them the most revolutionary statement human ears ever listened to. “Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God.” We argue in exactly the opposite way, even the most spiritually-minded of us – “But I MUST live; I MUST make so much money; I MUST be clothed; I MUST be fed.” The great concern of our lives is not the kingdom of God, but how we are to fit ourselves to live. Jesus reverses the order: Get rightly related to God first, maintain that as the great care of your life, and never put the concern of your care on the other things.
“TAKE NO THOUGHT FOR YOUR LIFE….” Our Lord points out the utter unreasonableness from His standpoint of being so anxious over the means of living. Jesus is not saying that the man who takes thought for nothing is blessed – that man is a fool. It is one of the severest disciplines of the Christian life to allow the Holy Spirit to bring us into harmony with the teaching of Jesus in these verses.

Evangelist Billy Graham said, “God’s mercy and grace give me hope—for myself, and for our world.”
If you are despairing today, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal a better understanding of hope to you. Meditate on the importance of the indwelling presence of Christ in you and treasure Him. He is your strength, your joy, your guide, your wisdom, and your victory.
Praise Him today as you pray for public officials, and those who seek office in government, to find hope for the future in Jesus.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. So, there are angles specially appointed to carry prayers to God, and to place them in the highest elevation – that is on the top of the Crown of God. However there is a problem – as these angles rise higher and higher they are unable to withstand the extreme heat/light/presence of God’s Glory, so they make the prayers swear an oath that they are sincere, honest and free from any “contamination” of possible hidden sin or lie, and then are allowed to complete their purpose on their own. To this end the personal prayer, one exemplified by your wonderful poem, and any prayer that is from the heart, honest and a true desire to connect to God, is the highest form of prayer – to be placed on the Crown of God. Psalm 145:18 “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” If people only understood the power of prayer.

Thank you, but like yourself I’m only passing on what has been given me – hopefully some may just strike a chord with somebody and help them – and so on and so on. Your “I honestly believe fervent prayer takes practice, Old – Many spend too much time talking – and – not enough time listening to what God has to say” brought this to mind. Moses is said to have not left a patch of sky (360 in the desert) where he didn’t aim his prayers, beseeching and praises. Thousands and thousands of prayers (practice). Yet when God told him he was to go down to Egypt to deliver the people, he spent 7 days talking non-stop, coming up with reasons why he wasn’t the guy. Eventually God had enough and poor Moses was told to “keep quiet” – and get on with the job, instructions to follow. The rest IS our observation and wisdom. 🙂

Have not been there in ages, used to go there for my birthday dinners, then as an adult, upgraded to the New Orleans house in Indianapolis for an all you can eat seafood buffet that was high end & maybe rub elbows with a Colts player or 2 for the night.
They closed down in the mid 2000’s I think.
Tho the past couple of weeks of shrimp sales @ Kroger, been making a rather tasty garlic / Parmesan browned butter pasta Alfredo that I should NOT make myself too often for health reasons… sigh.
The one in town here stays. Read that what happened is a hedge fund bought the chain. It then split off the property to a separate company and forced the franchises to lease. Then that company raised the lease prices up out of site.
That’s what keeps me running on the edge of the red line, rent (capped @ 2%/yr) or rather CAMS (Common Area Maintenance) fees have added 30% (1K)to the price of my rent which includes 400/mo in property taxes. Once they reassess property for this newest jack wagon landlord … I expect a doubling of property taxes based on what he overpaid… that might end my house of cards should the price increase in product to cover it be rejected by the public.
Missed chance to buy my first location (dine in) as we had forest fires here my year 2-3 & 4 … no tourist no money … barely survived.
225k option in lease agreement with time to buy exercised within 2.5 years… sigh. Property probably worth a mil today.

Sherry and I snapped fresh green beans while we had our morning coffee out in the sun room and watched the birds working the feeders.
So dinner today will be a one pot meal of green beans, ham, and baby red potatoes and fresh dinner rolls.
I have decided that all of the gutter down spouts will run underground to pop up defusers in the yard at least 6′ from the house and new garage. To do that one needs to have the gutters covered to keep out the leaves and junk or the under ground tubing will just get clogged up.
I called LeafFilter gutter protection for a quote last week. His first quote was $9,000.00. NO WAY. Then I got him down to $4,488.00. Still way too high. Yesterday the regional manager sent me a messages saying he had crews that needed worked and offered a price of $2,577.00. I accepted.
It was a good thing he made the offer when he did because I had done my research and was going to go to Home Depot this morning to buy the Stainless steel with micro mesh gutter guards they sell and install them myself.
LeafFilter however offers a warranty for the life of the house/gutter (not the owner). They clean the gutters. Seal all seams with silicone, make sure that there is a 13 degree slope to the downspout, and install extra supports so there is a minimum of 12″ between them.
Price still seems high to me, but what the heck isn’t priced high these days. And it will be worth it to not to have to worry about cleaning the darn things during my lifetime.
I have a total of 10 downspouts. My brother has a Bobcat with all the attachments, including a trencher and he’ll come and put in the trenches for the underground tubing. I’ll use shaved limestone paver base to flatten out the bottom of the trench and make sure I have adequate slope and install the tubing, elbows and diffusers and back fill the trenches. Then I will have everything set up to keep almost all the rain water from the foundation of the house.

I think it is just a matter of how busy they are. I would be their sales guy works on a commission. Now understand that my 158 ft of gutter is all at single story level. Two story level will cost more but at the same time those that have a 2nd story need that kind of protection even more than those with a single story height gutters to clean.

Got a good ticket for the Little 500 Saturday night. Jay, the guy that did a lot of the work on my house had an extra one. I’ll be up between turns 1 and 2 of the 1/4 mile high banked asphalt oval.

Yea … happens, way more frequently than I ever saw in IN, musta had a lot of wind to clog the door that much … freaks the dogs out, esp if they need to go out & then refuse to leave covered porch … luckily only happens for 10 minutes or less.
