She posted it on yesterday’s OT. It got lost.
Didn’t see it. I’ll look for it. Busy cleaning the garage, moving the bird feeders so we can see them from the new sun room, and receiving the new oak poker/game table for the sun room. 4′ octagon, poker/card table top on one side and solid oak on the other. Four chairs on wide casters that swivel and rock. Black leather seats and backs. Card, chip, and game storage under the top. All wall hangings are now up in the living room and sun room. Now the inside work that is left is getting the garage cleaned up, organized.
But today it is outside work. Forecast for today through Tuesday is great but I still have standing water in the front and side yards so I can’t mow. But I will be burying my cable today. Not waiting for the utility to come out to put my incoming power underground because I don’t want to be worrying about moving that darned cable whenever I mow. The ground is moist and so this is the time to put it under. Just take a spade, push it as deep as possible into the ground and wiggle it back and forth to form a slit. Repeat along the line one wants the cable to run, putting the cable in the bottom of the slit as one goes. Come back and use your feet to push the slit together and it’s done!
Also gotta go up on the roof today. Got a leak in the older part around a plumbing vent pipe. A little Flex Seal rubber spray sealant around the flashing should do the trick.
I found it. ad rem does a great job. I will be voting for Curtis Hill since I believe he is the most truly conservative of the bunch. But Braun has Trump’s endorsement and is the likely winner IMO. Hill was the only one that put it all on the line fighting against the COVID restrictions and I think that the allegations that he groped 4 women was a fabricated attempted take down because he is too conservative for the uniparty.
I’ve written on Curtis Hill before and his crony Assistant Governor Micah Beckwith (Life Church Noblesville) who ran and lost to Victoria Spartz. They are not good guys.

I like to have a fan for air flow and a bottle of water nearby.

The rest of the time I sit or lay as is comfortable.

Was considering mentioning magnesium and Epsom salt baths but didn’t because in my case, it both relaxes AND energizes me (different people can be affected differently) … which effects are after all a good thing, so I too highly recommend this. Thanks to I Hear You Now for a stellar explanation! 🙂
Yes!!! We take daily magnesium as an essential supplement anyway.
Something else which I tried in the UK which helped was lavender oil. I’d place a drop or two on my pillow case so I was breathing it in. And I have to say I found it very efficacious.
A few years ago, I realised a lot of my sleep problems was because I was the wrong temperature. When I fix that, I am able to get to sleep probably 90% more often.
(I’m only annoyed I didn’t figure it out sooner)
Another problem could be the guilt from licking everyone else’s chocolate cake… just saying… 😝

Good morning Greg1. I hear you on the back issues robbing you of sleep. I take a small dose of Valium, only when I absolutely need to for sciatic pain and muscle spasm. It eases everything and let’s me sleep. I also take a magnesium supplement, 500 mg, and alpha-lipoic acid for neuropathy. All have been prescribed by my neurologist and all help.
Hope you find something to help ease your back issues and help you sleep. I think of all my old age issues the insomnia is the worse, awake half the night then sleep half the day with brain fog in between.
Valium doesn’t ease the pain, it just makes it so you don’t care! I carried it in my aid bag, recommended heavy dose for resetting dislocations, such as the shoulder. They say it’s impossible to OD on it.
The other that might help is Parafon forte, very effective muscle relaxer. That one you can take too much of.
Hi Rah, a lot of the back pain I experience is muscular and nerve so the 5mg of valium does the trick of calming both, allowing me to sleep without knocking me out. I’ve tried most every other muscle relaxant without success.

The issues which keep us sleepless individually are different I recognize, and that back of yours I know is the main driver of your insomnia. The older I get the harder I find it to turn off..for no particular reason or for the fact that my mind races everywhere.
Our ritual spread out about an hour and a half before bedtime…
15 mg melatonin
Two sachets of Sleeptime tea in a half mug.
And finally a glass of milk right before we turn in…try warm milk or cocoa.
If (or when) that doesn’t quite get the job done, I get up and have a regular cup of tea and another 5 mg of melatonin and two ibuprofen, then come here to visit with friends. That usually does the trick for me.
One of our missing Treeper brothers, Molon Labe, has a daughter who is an RN in Florida. He told us she said you can take up to 30 mg of melatonin AS LONG AS YOU TITRATE IT. Not sure over how long a period. I’ve never taken that much, and I’m certainly not advising…just passing on the information.
I am all sympathy, dear friend. It’s a big club it seems. With more members in it than we can imagine. I’m truly sorry that you are one 💕

Yes, very large club, unfortunately. I’m a charter member! Magnesium in all its forms is so essential. Magnesium oil is wonderful for leg (or other body part) cramping: rather expensive to buy in that form, but cheap and easy to make. You just buy magnesium flakes and add distilled water until fully saturated. It will alleviate cramps within a minute of applying with a spray bottle.
Melatonin is almost a miracle! And, new studies find that it is incredibly effective in much larger than usual dosages for other issues, including Covid, other viruses, cancer and more.
Valerian (hold your nose!) is very relaxing, and there is a valerian/hops supplement that works quite well. I think oftentimes, the insomnia culprit is an inability to shut down the whirring in our minds. GABA is pretty effective at calming out of control musings.
And, if all else fails, a nice glass of port or sherry never hurts!

One wonders if these medicos and researchers know exactly what would cure cancer. I suspect they do and that the cure is pennies compared to the bankrupting poisons served up by Big Pharma. Little be little information is getting out about which one can only say please, dear Lord, let these work.

Melatonin (3 mg) + valerian root powder (1 or 2 500-mg capsules) + magnesium + CBD oil does the job for me…most of the time. Getting the mind to slow down is the biggest challenge, but relaxing the muscles help too.
Melatonin in any higher dose does not play nice with this bod – makes me groggy the next day. But it can be totally different for the next person down the road, so trial and error.
Valerian root does stink, but one gets used to it. What is so bizarre, is that the flowers on a valerian plant smell utterly heavenly, and will fully permeate a garden area on a calm day. I grew a few plants of it years ago, it is a perennial. The first year I kept looking around and thinking, where is that wonderful smell coming from? Another amazing plant from our Creator!
Full spectrum CBD oil works for me. 1/4 to 1/2 tsp is all I use. Since I do not tolerate much medicine this low dose works for me. I understand your back problems, my back has compressed to the point that I am four and a half inches shorter that I used to be. I will keep you in my prayers, this back stuff and all the pain involved is a daily challenge!
Sleeping on your back? Put a pillow under your knees. Sleeping on your side? Put a pillow between your knees. Both help to take the strain off your back and hips.
One reason you cannot fall asleep is because you are in a “flight and fight” mode…practice breathing techniques to shut that off…a lot of these techniques are explained on the internet…Breath in 5 through the nose, blow out 5 through the mouth. The one that gets me yawning is placing your tongue on the roof of your month…breathe in 5, hold 7 and blow out your month for 8 seconds. Keep that tongue on the roof of the mouth…Had to practice that one a bit, but I was yawning right away and fall asleep every time!!!!
If you are waking up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep, your blood sugar could have dropped…drink a few oz of good juice and do the breathing…should help.
I agree with all the magnesium info and follow the supplements and make the oil…helps greatly with the muscle cramping and pain…our old bodies do not appreciate just lying there and resting…it keeps waking us up!!!! Hope the above helps.

I was thinking today about what having faith actually means. I had a great discussion with a good friend who loves her church . . . while, alas, I choose to remain unchurched.
I assured her that I was not at all anti-church and most definitely not anti-Christian. It’s just that church never really worked for me. I assured her, however, that the Lord and I had a wonderful relationship—I’ve felt his presence at critical times in my life, so much so that I’ve come to “know” when I’m being spoken to.
I told my friend, who was worried about me, that The Lord and I were OK. Of that I am sure. She’s invited me to her church several times and, honestly, it has been a good experience. Good people, usually anyway, tend to go to church. Her’s is an especially nice place. To visit. 🙂

When I first started commenting it was on this thread. First as a lurker and then after, I noticed that there were only double digit numbers who did so as well. Over the last couple of years our numbers have grown, I think in great part because of the beautiful musical offerings from all genres. I am very partial to gorgeous choral works and the voices which deliver them.
And for me there are none from whom reverence and emotion emanate more than Russian voices and works like this one from Tchaikovsky. I can’t explain it. But I can certainly feel it to the marrow of my bones. And given where this world is now, I become tearful listening. I’m so glad you heard this one 💕

We have a habit that when we open this door, we sing-song the word “sunshine” and our kitties come running. Sunning in this glass door is a favorite thing to do.

Your Timmy’s bed is exactly like the one our grand dog Maggie has. She loves hers. But it is getting a bit worn and ratty looking, so her mother bought another just like it. The Mags is having none of it. Her mother returned it post haste.
Savannah is thinking of making them a special bench. She has this strange material that her computer bag from school is made out of and it is a favorite for the kittoes to SIT on. Structure is pretty dense, so they’re not hurting anything, but they certainly look forward to her arrival home so they can take turns on claiming it. She wants to find an old bench with cubbies and sew a cushion if she can find that weird material. She wants cubbies in the bottom so that their beds can go in there.
When we were looking at adopting Rosie the puppy, I was already searching for an entry hook and cubby system where we coulid put shoes, and hang harnesses, and leashes.
Seems we design our abode around the pets, their storage and their climbing and lounging satisfaction. LOL
There has to be something out there that fits the description, girl. Or even something which will take Savannah’s eye and she will know its perfect. I wouldn’t think the material she’s looking for would be impossible to find. I bet, knowing her and you, together you will make it happen! 😘👍🏻

We got some more information this morning. It was some 40yo guy named Joel who came from Queensland.
Doesn’t sound like an Islamic attack. But I must admit that was my first question.
Last night, shortly after it had happened, my dad said he thought it was a relationship gone bad type of thing. So maybe my dad guessed correctly?? But we haven’t got the motive as yet. Although, I’ve just been at work, so maybe more info was released (?)
Anyway, we had 5 women and 1 man killed. More in hospital. He even stabbed a 9 month old baby. Evil.
And the cop who shot him is being praised as a hero. We had a bunch of heroes that day ♥️♥️♥️

This is so very true, Bet. When I heard about the murders in Australia, my first thought was sadness but also pride in the brave officer who saved other people.
My Sunday=at=the=bookstore reading often involves reading several gun magazines. For several months now their editorials have mention a general belief that our dear country is becoming much less safe.
The editorials all stress knowing how to develop enhanced situational awareness to this newly dangerous environment. This makes me thankful I live in Texas.
Although I’m well armed, I also pushin’ 80 and walk slowly with a cane.. Of late, when I go to a place like Lowe’s or Walmart I sometimes notice that I’m getting “clocked” by the buzzards hanging around outside the stores.
Fortunately I’ve been around guns my whole life. I first learned to shoot around age 7. Several of the editorials suggested around-the-clock carrying, although I’m not quite there yet.
Keep alert and keep carrying, Garrison. I don’t feel at ease or safe anymore. I don’t like having to keep my head on a swivel. But it seems we all had better get used to it. Our country has been given away without our permission, the message being you’ll shut up and like it. I don’t know how we came to this and so quickly.
As.Mark Steyn noted in his book After America in 2006, we have been falling for decades and haven’t realized it. He wasn’t wrong then. Everything he wrote was prescient and correct. And it grieves me very much to say it…
Alas, I do know how we came to this Bet. The hard left began a project based on Frankfurt School Critical Theory (H. Marcuse and Angela Davis) beginning in the late 60’s.. I read Marcuse and he laid it all out in his writings. The basic premise is that if you overload the “system” you break down our social institutions. We’re seeing that happen now. I was just in downtown detroit a few days ago, walking by myself (but daylight).
like anyone’s “hometown”, one knows the dos and dont’s, but I still consider downtown detroit vastly different than chicago.
we do not have massive illegals roaming free-range, and we can carry.
from what I read about chicago, I would want to stay away. But I do not read anything even close to the same about detroit (i.e. mayor weirdos, illegals everywhere, communicable disease outbreaks, illegals in the airport, hotels overrun by illegals, car chases, murders, etc.).
so while I’m cautious (and maybe a bit bias 🙂 ), I stand firm that detroit is different than chicago for use in comparison.

My respects to you. I’m sorry about putting Chicago and Detroit in the same sentence as comparisons or sister cities. We were in Detroit for a conference in September 2021. Really eager to explore the city and its motor history. We stayed in The Henry Hotel in adjacent Dearborn.
I didn’t know it yet, but I was in the throes of COVID, as I hadn’t yet been diagnosed. I had not much sleep and made the trip because the conference was very important. I expected to stay in a really nice luxury hotel at “The Henry”.
However, we were warned by locals to:
1) Go directly to the hotel and not to deviate our route.
2) Do NOT under any circumstances go out at night. We were two women traveling.
The conference was excellent and we enjoyed meeting the locals. Was at a church and they had vast concerns about the “no go zones” being set up in Michigan. Sharia Law in place usurping American and locality laws.
We went to The Henry and, though the ground floor of the hotel had gorgeous art work (something we also immensely enjoy) and had an excellent restaurant where we entertained a local acquaintance – we were disconcerted by the decor of our actual room. The decor was nothing short of a murderous scene depicted where it looked like an unclothed woman with a death injury to her back. It was a total 180 from the “joyful scene” of the first floor.
It was too late to change rooms, so we settled in. About 1 AM, a man on our floor started getting really loud and very, very VIOLENT. He was attacking his girlfriend and it carried out into the hall. We called down because we were trapped in our room and my daughter was terrified. The hotel staff was afraid to come up. They called the police and we waited – trapped there for around 2 hours before the police arrived.
Security had to come up to our room to escort us out of the hotel and to our car because we were not sleeping at all that night. I showed him the interior paintings and asked him just what the hotel was trying to elicit in having such “triggers” in the rooms and was the guy’s acting out related to what he was surrounded by???? (I took pictures of it all and have it in my archives that I could dig out.) The rooms of our floor all had the same paintings – all of which available “for sale”. What kind of monsters want THAT kind of artistic influence? I think of the Podestas.
When he took us to our car, he asked me how much gas I had to get back to Indiana and he warned us not, under any circumstances, to get off the freeway. We hightailed it home in the middle of the night, sick, frightened, and terribly disappointed at how beautiful some parts of the city were and how much we wanted to explore it.
We felt it taken over by the foreign occupants who set up there and there was a total sense of “evil”.
My acquaintance friend there has property and lives there. Another who helped organize the event, her parents live there. And as you say… they carry everywhere… including at home and none goes out at night.
Indianapolis is a beautiful small, small city. Gorgeous architecture. Unique amenities and all-around Americana – HOWEVER, it too has suffered immensely under the management of liberal agenda. We no longer can walk the streets of our fair city in the night-time – and even in the day is questionable. There have been several attacks, stabbings, and gun violence in the capital city – and often by very young minors. We are already one foot in the grave of losing our fair capital.
I’m sorry, Slow… I don’t mean to be offensive…. but if two women can’t walk safely alone in a city together… then there are real problems – carrying or not.
It is my opinion, popular or not, that we need to put a stop to, and expel those, who usurp our laws and order. If Trump says these other nations are not sending “their best” illegally entering our borders – then maybe we need to return the favor and we need to overhaul the jewels to our crown and gain back control of our fair cities. I have lived all over the country, except the east coast where I have only visited NYC, DC, and Maryland – but as for me and my house – WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK – and I want to share my experiences and the love of our country with my daughter.
I hope you don’t find me combative, not intending to be. Just sharing my experience and how I have watched our fair cities in great decline. When I was in field sales – I was very much a part of the heart of the cities and served them – oftentimes solo – so imagine LA county as my territory and going to every nook and cranny of it – that was me, so my head is naturally on a swivel especially having a military police officer (narcotics) as my father. So, I would wish we all could travel freely without the fear of “being at the wrong place at the wrong time”.
For what it’s worth – I find Chicago drivers far worse than Los Angeles. But even that has probably changed since my experience of L.A. is 20 years old.

It was an intense and stressful day. One of those that you can’t tell if you’re going to survive.
Hundreds of drones and missiles are reported on the way, you know you have a few hours to find out where it hits. It could be on your home or anywhere. Israelis stood strong.
A lot is happening so bear with me if it’s long.
Terminology: ICBM – Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. A large long range missile that goes in an arch route sometimes even outer space.
Cruise Missile – A large missile that goes lower and can go long distance.
There are more differences but this is basically the main difference. ICBM is usually larger.
-A historic drone/missile attack from Iran on Israel. The largest drone attack in history and maybe also largest in missiles.
About 331 launches. From Yemen, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon.
Of those 100 were ICBM ballistic missiles. 170 drones.
Most of the missiles were intercepted by Israel, US , Britain and France coalition.
Iran expected to neutralize the Air Bases of Israel. Only one air base (Nevatim) was mildly damaged with no casualties.
Note: Arab and Iranian media are trying to say that Nevatim was destroyed. It’s not true.
You can expect a huge fake news campaign from Iran/Arabs.
After the pale revenge after Sulemani was killed by the US they made their attack look massive in its results. They have to satisfy their population.
Note: There is someone here on Last Refuge who in the past showed extreme hate to Israel His name here is “Old IADGuy”. Please note that he flooded the Last Refuge with fake Telegram videos and images that show massive destruction and people screaming.
It was not Israel. I can easily recognize the Hebrew language and Arabic and can easily recognize the difference between a short range hit to a long range. Some was correct that showed interceptions and some falls, most was false. I flagged him. Don’t get confused.
Even a half way through 10/7 I already knew that we have around 1,000 dead when the media said “100 plus”. I didn’t report until I verified it. But Israel doesn’t hide its casualties and damages. It’s a small nation and in many cases I get the data before it is published and then I verify before I post. If I am not sure I say “I am not sure”.
Of all the rain of fire only one Arab girl was badly injured in the south. Reportedly from the parts of an interceptor missile which fell down.
Speaker of the IDF – 99% was intercepted.
–of the 170 drones not even one made it into Israel space.
-over 70 targets were intercepted by foreign Armies. (US , UK, etc..).
-Iran said that there done unless Israel responds.
-Biden opposes an Israeli response and said the US will not participate. He had a conversation with Bibi. Note: In my opinion this is a historic opportunity to put an end to their nuclear program or at least move it back a decade. Unfortunately Biden is either trying to prevent or just will not help. I get the idea that he is trying to prevent. I doubt it can be effectively destroyed without the help of the US and without the element of surprise.
Israel may just damage it with missiles if at all. The sites are spread and deep in the ground. Irans oil fields are also potential targets.
To make it clear. Without Israel’s superior missile defense there would have been thousands of casualties. Vital infrastructure damaged. There was a massive attack on Dimona the city that has the nuclear reactor. This potentially was capable of a nuclear blast. Dimona is only on the radar because of the reactor. Otherwise no one knows this city and wouldn’t target it.
Israel must respond. Weakness in the Middle East invites a future disaster. And if you ask me they deserve punishment for 10/7 and their attacks on Israel from all the fronts.
Many are afraid of a WW3. I said it before and I will repeat. They are a “tiger of paper”.
They fought Iraq for decades with no results. The US took over Iraq in a week.
Their Air Force is old technology and they have a strong internal opposition that is waiting for the chance. So unless China or Russia get involved then it’s a no WW3.
Russia is in the Ukrainian mud and will not want another front.
They will make some threats because Iran supplies them drones and trade. They will not act.
China is not even in the area to the best of my knowledge.
–IDF estimates that no cruise missiles made it into Israel. But ICBMs did make it. Over a 100 of them were launched and only 10 made it with mild damage only.
–Israeli Air Force intercepted some 30 cruise missiles.
-IDF kept its attacks in Gaza. Did not pause.
–40 missiles from Lebanon and a proper response from Israel.
-The IDF is estimating that the Iranians want to drag the area into an escalation.
-Hamas declined the new hostage release proposal.
-Speaker of the IDF released a video of an F35 landing at the base of Nevatim that the enemies are cheering as if it was destroyed.
-Crowds of Palestinians on Temple Mount in Jerusalem are cheering and all excited and calling to destroy Israel. Crowds in Iran also on video cheering.
-Video from Iran of tension and people fueling their cars and buying food ahead of a possible Israeli response.
-US Secretary of Defense:: US Forces in the Middle East intercepted tens of drones and missiles. “We are not seeking a conflict with Iran but we will not hasitate to act for the defense of our forces and support the defense of Israel.”
Note: Very appeasing. With Trump none of this would have happened as he said and I agree.
I knew that the help will come at a cost. Now Biden opposes Israel intent to respond.
Iran for sure knew that Biden will try to stop Israel and definitely wouldn’t act offensively himself, so Iran felt they can do this attack.
Note: This attack reminds me exactly the Iranian plan to eliminate Israel. We know about it for years. 1. Neutralize the air bases. 2. Hezbollah and Hamas with a surprise attack like 10/7 which was supposed to move deeper all the way to Tel Aviv. 3. At the same time Terror from the West Bank. 4. Israeli Arab uprising and blocking main roads that the IDF uses to mobilize and attacks inside on Israelis in major cities.
So to some degree there is a good aspect as they burned the plan. Hamas went by itself and is now shambles. The attack on the Air Bases completely failed and a coalition of Israel, US, France, UK faced it beautifully with cooperation of moderate Arab Sunni nations like Jordan etc…. Hezbollah is now in a catch 22 because without the element of surprise it can’t do much and it has to help the Iranians and Gazans but knows that it will be their end like Hamas if they cross the line. They don’t want to give Israel the excuse. Israeli distrust in the IDF after the 10/7 mess up was somewhat restored as they showed an ability to defend its people. And showed that all the investments in missile defense proved itself in a moment of truth. There is some shift Pro Israel following this attack as shown by the united West nations in support of Israel. Iran exposed its weakness and will be less feared.
-Israeli Minister of Defense: “The nation of Israel withstood today an attack of hundreds of missiles and drones. The IDF held back the attack impressively. Along with our American and other partners we managed to bring about a very minimal damage in Israel, an impressive achievement by the IDF. The whole world saw tonight who is Iran: A terror state who attacks from a distance of 1,500 Km (932Miles) the state of Israel and is trying to activate all its proxies. But the world also saw the power of a coalition and how Israel with the US and other nations is standing tall and stopping this attack in an unparalleled manner.
The battle is not over yet, we need to be alert and pay attention to the instructions of the IDF and to be prepared for any scenario. Yet , the most significant wave was held back and with great success”.
-Bibi posted : “We intercepted, held back. Together we will win”.
-Israeli responses are unanimous, saying that we won this battle.
Note: Israeli Air Force is legendary and needs a big shout-out. They won the Six Days War.
They took out all the anti aircraft missiles that Syria had in Lebanon and shot down 88 Syrian MIGS in a few hours without losing any of ours in the First Lebanon war.
I did my service in the Air Force. I know that they are around the clock for months. I know that there are none stop combat flights around the clock for months. This time the core goal of the Iranian attack seemed to be the Air bases.
In joint drills with friendly nations no one hardly ever beats the IAF in the drills. There was also a lot of coordination drills of the IAF (Israeli Air Force) with the US, and European nations and it showed its power now.
Israeli pilots are holding all the world records of Air to Air combat in modern days jet fighters.
Iran and the Arabs will celebrate with their false PR, the antisemites will pull their lies and forward it but we know that this day so far is a historical day favorably for the IDF.
But it may not be over. The next couple of days will tell how it ends. I expect some strikes at Iran. But measured. If Bibi can damage the nuke sites he will. He may take advantage of the International support and try to be extra moderate or not. We shall see.

Biography: As a young man the German born Handel travelled and lived in Italy, its operatic tradition becoming very influential on his work.
In 1712 Handel decided to settle in London, becoming a naturalized British citizen in 1727. He enjoyed early royal patronage and wrote his famous “Water Music” in 1717 for King George I on the River Thames and in 1727 was commissioned to compose works for the coronation of George II. One of these, “Zadok the Priest” has been played at every British coronation since.
Handel began to move away from Italian style operas towards oratorios before later in life embracing a more English choral tradition. His most famous work “Messiah” was composed in 1742 and its “Hallelujah” chorus has been a Christmas favorite ever since.

Biography: Credited with having coined the phrase “form follows function,” Sullivan was an American architect known as the ‘father of skyscrapers’ and ‘father of modernism.’
Beginning his career in Chicago, he worked for William LeBaron Jenney—the first architect to erect a steel frame building. Chicago was to become a laboratory for a new type of building driven by expanding steel production.
With ready access to steel, structural constraints which had previously determined designs were no longer a problem. Sullivan, while not the first to realise this, was renowned for having leaned into the particular characteristics of steel—hence, “form follows function.”

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

I am posting here a copy of what I posted on Sundance’s post today about US aide to Israel that is discussed:
This is your Israeli friend. Many of you have seen me here on this platform for years.
Many read my updates that I am providing quite regularly since the war began because I have access to material and videos that are not available overseas.
So I have been a Trump supporter and have the outmost respect to Sundance and American patriots.
Now, because I am here on this platform and other reasons I do understand the mindset of the people here that is a specific spectrum in the American society, it’s not 100% uniform but has its close similarities. I understand “America First” and why foreign aide is not so popular when you have enough things going on inside the US that need funds.
I also understand how sneaky the DNC can be and would use crisis to pass bills and tie Israel Aide to Ukraine Aide and possibly into a Palestinian aide too . I get it. I do!
However with the outmost respect I do want to make a correction to your introduction Sundance my friend and make a case for a possible reconsideration of the subject.
Unfortunately I have to get a bit technical to explain what happened so bear with me.
What just happened is not just “approximately 300 drone missiles toward Israel that had to pass a 1000 miles so why did they even bother?” I will provide the numbers and intent:
Over 331 launches. Launches from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon. All done in coordination of timing. Of those about 185 were drones, that do take long time to arrive if it’s from Iran and much less from neighboring nations like Syria and Lebanon.
About 110 were Ballistic missiles that take 7-20 min to make it from Iran depending on the model that they use and much less if from any of the other nations. Those fly in an arch and very high, could even be in space and carry very heavy loads of explosives. They have those which carry 3,300 Lb. warhead and others 1,100 Lb. explosives. They fly in a speed of 12-16 the speed of sound (Mach). 16 Mach = 12,276 Miles per hour.
I would like to mention that in 1991 when I was in a long trip to England, Saddam Hussian fired tens of Skaad Ballistic missiles to Israel. The US tried to help with the Patriot Defense systems and yet many hit targets in Tel Aviv and around. My wife at he time was literally hearing missiles over her apartment, she was lucky unlike some others. I tried hard to persuade her to come to the UK, as her job was closed, so why stay? Eventually in a window of time she made it and was completely traumatized. Took long to overcome. And then the missiles were not so fast and dangerous as what Iran has now.
Any of those missiles will destroy a target and the concrete safe rooms wouldn’t help.
36 cruise missiles were also fired yesterday. Cruise missiles missiles are also large and deadly but fly low and it’s hard to see them on radars.
This was the largest drone/missile attack in history in a single coordinated time unit.
It was also a historic success to prevent the consequences that defied all statistical expectations.
The drones too are smaller and slower and a jet fighter has a hard time to spot them and lock on them. Israel has the F35 jet fighter and has an upgraded technology that enables to see drones too. We don’t have many F35s. In many cases the pilots who had to fly over hostile nations used their cannons to take down drones.
The US with British help and ,possibly Jordanian a bit too, took down 70 targets.
The rest was the IDF.
What was targeted? We know that Air Bases. But also Dimona city area was heavily targeted, many interceptions took place there, and that means the area of the nuclear reactor. There is no other reason for targeting the small city of Dimona.
A ballistic missile on the reactor could have cause a nuclear blast and the beginning of a World War. There were more strategic targets, we don’t know all the coordinates.
Israel with the USA managed to stop all the Drones and cruise missiles before it entered Israel. Israel stopped 99% of the ballistic missiles. I have to mention that yesterday, the day of the attack, one of the most searched terms on Google in Hebrew was “Psalms”.
People were praying. What can you do when you’re home and know that hundreds of explosive devises are on the way and I have to mention the distrust on the military after the mess-up of 10/7, people turned to God.
So usually statistically such defenses have about 90%-95% success and many of the defense technologies were used for the first or second time only. 99% success is a miracle!
What would happen if such attack was aimed at the US? Thousands killed or maimed.
And an attack on a nuclear facility like happened yesterday would have possibly cause a nuclear disaster Heavens Forbid.
You may value or not the aide to Israel. You may or may not accept the false propoganda about “genocide” in Gaza. But from a purely self interest kind of point of view you need to know that aside from miracles and a bit of help, what was in action are the world’s best technologies of the Israeli Iron Dome, David’s Sling, Arrow 2 and Arrow 3. Those are all layers of Israeli defensive missiles that shoot down incoming missiles.And we saw the power of a historic alliance of the IDF (Israeli Military) with its allies which was practiced over decades.
Also improved radar systems that are Israeli and other means that are confidential.
Israel is also close to have an operational Laser Defense system that will revolutionize the defenses and later offense too.
Israel uses US aide to develop all the systems. Israel gives the US access to the technologies. In a future World War having those technologies may just save your own life and family. And, if a World War looks far fetched, then you need to look at history.
It’s not a matter of “if”, It’s a matter of “when?” . We too lived in our comfort zone until one day 10/7 we find ourselves in a War reality. You never foresee the worst, most people avoid looking at potential existential threats and focus on immediate threats.
Israeli technology is important to the US and I am not mentioning other technologies like medical breakthroughs that millions of Americans are already using. And many of the brains of computers (microprocessors) are developed in Israel by companies like Intel. Even the flash drive was an Israeli invention and the first instant messaging systems and the best Cyber Security that all the banks use to defend your accounts and even the first cell phone was a joint development of Motorola with Israeli Engineers in Israel. And to end it all I will mention that the belief in one God also came from Israel and of course the Bible and Jesus Christ.
So I hope my post was of some value. We will survive also without US money and maybe even better for us in the long run.
We didn’t have the US in 1948 when some 8-10 Arab nations surrounded us and went to war and our military was still brand new. We have Spirit and perhaps some Devine Intervention.

This statement was made by Hillel the Elder (in Pirkei Avot Chapter 1:14), the leader of the Jewish Supreme Court in the Land of Israel in the early part of the 1st Century CE.
The teaching you have quoted is coming to deal with the tensions between self and non-self.
In other words, every person struggles on a daily basis with the balance between what one does for oneself and what one expects from others.
Hillel is saying that the bottom line is that one’s life is in one’s own hands – don’t expect anyone to make your life for you because they can’t and won’t.
On the other hand, if one’s focus is only on oneself to the exclusion of others, then what value does the person have?
To be completely selfish is to lose touch with the rest of the world, to lose touch with life.
The connection between the first and last part of the teaching is not obvious.
The last part is saying that since we don’t know what each hour will bring, we must respond to each moment as if it is a once in a lifetime opportunity – ‘if not now’, when are you going to have another chance.
On a deeper level, it could be saying that each moment in our lives is unique – even though it may seem that the opportunity to do something returns the next day, the context is never the same.

I am totally in favor of aid to Israel and totally against aid to Ukraine.
Decades ago I read that Israel is at the top of the list for inventions, patents, medical stuff. Way above all other countries and entrepreneurs are higher in Israel than other countries.
Jerusalem is the epicenter of the world. Many don’t recognize that fact, but all nations will at some point in time.
I’ve heard jokes that candidates running for office should have to wear insignias like race cars and their drivers so that we can see who “sponsor” them. One tool that I use to help see who “owns” a candidate is this website that lists political donors to a campaign. Todd Young the Indiana rat RepubliCON is financed more than 53% from “out of state” donors – what does that tell ya? Yeah, he’s not working for Indiana.
This may help others across the country as you are working your ballots and getting to know your candidates in your regions.

Gardening, I appreciate it a lot more today than I did when I was young. I had a father that was a master gardener. So glad he took the time to make me learn. Even said that I probably would not get into it, until I was older.
I do wish our was one of our dogs though. While ever mindful of their masters safety, they blissfully lying around, watching me do the heavy lifting. 🙂
