Since this is Easter, I thought it OK to put this special benediction up a second time. I’d like to share with you a small, but quite moving experience. My wife passed away in Sept. of 22. She suffered from late-stage Alzheimer’s. I was her caregiver for 18 years. Honestly, every day of that time was blessed.

As time went on we grew closer together. In fact we fell in love all over again. When I realized she was failing, I asked the Lord to allow her to pass gently. The night she died, she simply went to sleep and didn’t wake up. That morning I first thought she was simply sleeping normally. Then I discovered she’d passed over to be with Our Dear Lord. It was exactly as I’d asked. Our Lord heard my prayer and took my dear wife of 55 years into his loving arms as gently as you would pick up a small child.

I, of course, felt deep sadness when I realized she’d passed. But I also felt deep gratification to know Our Lord had hear my humble prayer. But I also must share with you that I really don’t much like living alone and there are times when her presence seems so real that I half expect to see her.

When you’re in a relationship for that length of time, small things like casual conversation and the simple knowledge that she’s in the next room are sorely missed. Yesterday, I found her Boost energy drinks in the refrigerator—I’d forgotten they were there. It was a poignant reminder that she was gone.

The Great Truth of being a Christian and a strong believer is that Our Lord Jesus is Real. He loves us and hears our prayers. His resurrection was a real event. He is with us always.

He is blessedly with me always because I and so many others believe in him always.

In the past year I’ve thought a lot about what genuine belief actually means. This truth was brought to me through more than a little contemplation and prayer—real belief is based on two strong elements. Trust and Loyalty. If you have these in your life you’ll be OK.

I know this sounds simplistic but I strongly feel that it is a Great Truth that underscores belief. Be well and be blessed, my dear Treeper friends. And always know that Our Lord is looking after us.

(1868-1917)

American ragtime composer (The Entertainer, Maple Leaf Rag), dies at 48

Biography: Scott Joplin is known as the “King of Ragtime”, famous for such compositions like “The Maple Leaf Rag” and “The Entertainer”.

A travelling musician, Joplin was at the Chicago World Fair in 1893, where Ragtime became a national craze. He went on to publish his own Ragtime compositions before starting his own Opera Company and composing operas, self-publishing his ” Treemonisha” opera in 1911.

Joplin’s music was largely forgotten after his death in 1917 but rediscovered in the 1960s and 1970s. The film “The Sting” (1973) featured music inspired by Scott Joplin and Marvin Hamlisch won an Academy Award for his soundtrack. His version of the “The Entertainer” then became a top ten hit.

Israel Update:
-A terror attack in a shopping Mall in a city in central south Israel.  A Palestinian from the West Bank went on a stabbing spree and badly injured three people until a policeman shot and killed him.  The guy used to work in this mall and entered Israeli illegally this time.   He was 19 years old. Expect to see him on the “Palestinian children that Israel killed” lists that Biden and Liberal media are using.  They count 19 years old as “children”.  I have the video of it all but I am not sure you want to see.  Let me know if you do.  

-Yesterday another terror attack in South Israel Beer Sheba city.  An Arab Israeli went on a stabbing spree by a bus station.  Two mildly injured, a soldier who happened to be there shot and killed him. Again I have the video, I am not sure that you want to see.  

-20 year old soldier died from the RPG incident of a couple of days ago  in Khan Yunis.  
A commando guy.  RIP. 
21 year old soldier died in Gaza. Was in the tanks battalion in South Gaza.  RIP.  

-A drone attacked a target in Eilat (the most south city in Israel). It came from the east from Jordan and Iraqi Iranian Militia take responsibility.  No casualties. Mild damage.  But it is worrisome as they must have used some advanced Iranian drone that managed to be undetected all across Jordan and into Israel.  They claim it hit a vital strategic target.  Israel denies any significant damage.  

-The Shifa operation is over.  Gazan report 300 bodies in and around.  Israel thought over 200.  Some 500 confirmed terrorists captured and more are arrested so interrogations are not over.  Some of the buildings are badly damaged.  I posted another update just for this with a video.  They learned that hospitals are no longer safe for them to use.  

-Some serious anti government demonstrations at  a few locations in Israel.  Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, by Bibi’s home in Ceasaria city and more.  Unfortunately some families of hostages joined forces with the anti Bibi left wing crowed and they were quite aggressive with some blocking roads and making fires.  The Police was extra gentle with them because they are Liberal and apparently liberals have different law applied (like in the US) and because we don’t want to attack families of hostages. There is a strong and disgusting division arising again with lots of hate from the left. Al Jazeera were covering it live to the satisfaction of Arabs.  This hurts the hostage negotiation efforts.  It’s a wartime which makes it awful.  Bibi must act in Rafah and “push the gas” and get the war to a breaking point.  I will also guess that the Biden’s Administration is involved somehow.  Those protests are well organized and financed.   There were tens of thousands of people invoved.  

-Some serious air attacks by Damascus Syria. A facility of research was attacked and some Hezbollah related location.  A couple died.  I will post this video.  Was massive explosion that I have not seen such before.

-Another targeted Assassination in Lebanon on a moving car.  This time it was one of the leaders of their anti tank Force that are very active attacking Israel now days.  As I said, it looks like there are Israeli spies all over Lebanon.  They identify people on the go. 

-After Canada decided not to export weapons to Israel the Israel Defense Ministry Office issued a bid for Israeli companies to produce 20,000 M16 and M4A1 rifles.  There are three companies competing for it. They demand that no less than 51% of the parts will be local.  There is an option for additional 20,000 rifles too.  There is a new demand that the imported parts will not be from nations who  demand an export license.  This is to avoid situations like Canada.  The Security Office has changed its policy due to scarcities in weapons that started even before the limitations from some countries.  There is an international race in the West to get armed which caused scarcities.  Specially after the Russian invasion at Ukraine.

Hostages -134 , originally it was 253.  Released so far 123. 
Displaced Israelis – 123,000
Rockets into Israel – 11,500+
Number of US soldiers in the Middle East – 40,000 (not in Israel, I will post a map).  
US aide – 244 cargo planes equipment worth $254.5 millions. 
Biden said 14.3 billions are proposed but the way things go it is questionable.  The cost of war is very high per day.  
Attacks against the US – 365 in Syria , 113 in Iraq.  Those are Iran’s proxies.  
Hamas soldiers – about 30,000 plus there are some 6,000 Islamic Jihad.  
Hezbollah – 50,000 soldiers. 
Hezbollah 150,000-200,000 rockets.  Hamas only some 15,000 rockets.  
Hoothies – 200,000 soldiers. 
Terrorists killed in Gaza – about  13,000. 
High profile kills : 
2 Brigade commanders.  
89 Platoon Commanders.

In Lebanon 310 terrorists killed.

The operation is over.  Gaza is reporting some 300 dead terrorists.  Israel said 200 plus.  Israel arrested some 900 and 500 confirmed terrorists so far.  Lost and lots of munitions and weapons in MRI rooms, maternity, ER, etc…
The IDF didn’t get ok to take any building down even after all the patients were secured so they used other means.  
The IDF used mainly Navy Seals and Reconnaissance unit of another Brigade.  
It was very bad for the enemies.  I am sure that the Gazans and Al Jazeera repeating of the “great massacare of the innocent” but we have plenty of footage of the fights inside and the weapons and munitions.  It was no longer a hospital.   They learned that a hospital is no longer a great hiding space.

During Holy Week that just passed, perhaps you watched the production of The Passion of the Christ, or the older rendition of The Greatest Story Ever Told. The human soul experiences deep sorrow or a shudder over the pain Jesus endured during the scenes of His crucifixion.

Truly, the cross, more than anything else, is the most powerful demonstration of God’s incredible love for all the people of the world. Matthew Henry wrote, “Behold, and wonder, that the holy God should love such a wicked world with a love of good will, when he could not look upon it with any complacency. This was a time of love indeed.”  

Pastor Jeremiah Johnson recently said, “In Jesus, we are blessed by God with an excruciating gift.” He pointed out that the word “excruciating” comes from the Latin crux, meaning “a cross.”

The apostle John, who was a witness to Jesus’ suffering and death, wrote, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us” (1 John 3:1). Through that excruciating death and the victorious resurrection, God has offered the whole world His invitation to be with Him eternally.

The gift is available to all, but one must accept it, and answer the invitation of the Holy Giver.

As Henry says, “We must yield an unfeigned assent and consent to the record God hath given in His word concerning His Son… we must give up ourselves to be ruled, and taught, and saved by Him.” 

The cross and the empty tomb are proof positive of God’s love for you. Jesus died so you might live.

George Bernard wrote in 1913, “In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for ‘twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died to pardon and sanctify me.”

If you are not already among the “whoever,” come to Christ and trust the sacrifice of love today.

Pray for a revival across America, beginning in the highest levels of government.

HEARTINESS v. HEARTLESSNESS TOWARDS OTHERS
 
“It is Christ…who also maketh intercession for us.” “The Spirit…maketh intercession for the saints.” Romans viii. 34, 27
 
Do we need any more arguments than this to become intercessors – that Christ “ever liveth to make intercession;” that the Holy Spirit “maketh intercession for the saints”? Are we living in such a vital relationship to our fellow men that we do the work of intercession as the Spirit-taught children of God? Begin with the circumstances we are in – our homes, our business, our country, the present crisis as it touches us and others – are these things crushing us? Are they badgering us out of the presence of God and leaving us no time for worship? Then let us call a halt, and get into such living relationship with God that our relationship to others may be maintained on the line of intercession whereby God works His marvels.
 
Beware of outstripping God by your very longing to do His will. We run ahead of Him in a thousand and one activities, consequently we get so burdened with persons and with difficulties that we do not worship God, we do not intercede. If once the burden and the pressure come upon us and we are not in the worshipping attitude, it will produce not only hardness toward God but despair in our own souls. God continually introduces us to people for whom we have no affinity, and unless we are worshipping God, the most natural thing to do is to treat them heartlessly, to give them a text like the jab of a spear, or leave them with a rapped-out counsel of God and go. A heartless Christian must be a terrible grief to Our Lord.

I (and probably everyone) watch the clearance racks at the grocery store, had to laugh at this one:

How much was this less than 8oz box on the shelf retail price?

Another 2 bucks off ~10 days later … still got more that half of them on the shelf

Ingredient label, does not look like anything I would eat …. ever

And as I recall … perhaps I am wrong but …. all cereals are plant based only high carbohydrates & sugar contents generally.

Maybe they should change the name … it might sell better then

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Old tune running through my mind that had me chuckling to myself and the cotton patch geese following me around started squawking.

Elvis did several version’s of this song after hearing White.

A very talented guy Tony Joe White from Louisiana toured with just a drummer. He later toured with Tina Turner who did several of the songs White Wrote.

Best known for writing Rainy Night in Georgia which several artists redid.
