He sees the finished product, the upper side where every thread is necessary. He knows the whys, a comfort to hold on to as the world around us spins inexorably it seems. BTW – I have both Logos and BLB. Both are excellent in unique ways. BLB is simple, free, and easy to use. Logos has a free version but most of the vast amount of add-on reference e-books have some costs.

But since I do not, my motto is and always shall be to taste my words before I spit them out. I remember my mother saying to me that if I ever write a letter at night, put it aside until the morning and reread before sending. Good advice. Today it would be never text and send or email and send until one can leave it, come back and reread.
I must just add my husband, who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, in fact not at all, had a nickname when he was little, so reactionary was he…April Showers. Sunny one minute, cloudy and overcast the next. And to this day he remains so 😂

Red hair and Asperger’s – two super powers. You know, they say that Asperger’s is the entrepreneurs condition. Many of our brilliant minds were on the spectrum and it was through them harnessing and wielding their hyper-focus, it developed some of our greatest technology. They say Steve Jobs had it. I am certain Elon Musk has it. Brilliance.
When you have a spectrum kid, your whole thought process of what’s “normal” or “to be expected” changes. It makes a much more interesting ride while parenting.

Red is lovely in every shade. Mine was strawberry as a kid – but devolved into mousy!
Yes, daughter is flaming red head. The deep dark auburn, but somehow my daughter is long-suffering and incredibly good at holding her anger. She is one that doesn’t lash back quickly. She ruminates, and then gives when it’s time.
She’s also very fast to forgive, though I admit to us having our moments where the offense was unforgiveable by us. It’s those times we turn to God and have to ask for His Help in dealing with things.
However, one thing you never do around my daughter – offend the defenseless or the weaker – she will stand up and intervene immediately. There were these three older, bigger girls that were tormenting one of her guy friends and she got in their faces and demanded they leave Logan alone. They all backed down and never messed with them again.
Though Savannah has a soft demeanor, very few mess with her. Maybe because they are shocked by her speaking loud and out at them. Whatever the case may be, for now, she carries confidence to stand her ground. I pray it goes well for her in her future.

Something gentle I’m listening to while I read and sit on my bench yonder 💕
It’s lovely. I like Schubert. In the second elementary school I went to for a couple of years, I was 9 to 10 years old there was a music teacher. I even remember her name: Miss Stockton. An older middle-aged lady with her hair in a severe bun, as so many ladies at that time, at that age, wore.
She rode an ‘old fashioned’ black bicycle to her work at the school, a kind that was described at that time as ‘a sit up and beg’ type, with the obligatory basket on the front handlebars and a pouch carrier bag behind the seat.
She would ride this bike with a stern determined face and an upright dignified posture, the same way she looked when she was seated in the classroom. She introduced us to many different types of classical music, even modern, and made us familiar with all the instruments used in a symphony orchestra. But she was especially fond of Schubert.
One day she played a piece by Schubert, and she showed us the book of music where this piece was’ printed. I was anxious to know the name of this piece, as I absolutely loved it. I thought it was so beautiful .
I think I saw the word ‘Butterfly’ ( in English) but despite listening to classical music on the BBC for many years of my growing up, I never heard it again, and then I forgot it.
I only remembered at the time I heard it, I was entranced by it’s beauty. Since then, many years later, I have via computer tried to find a piece that might be ‘the one’ but nothing sounded familiar and I did not find much with the word ‘butterfly’ or ‘schmetterling.’
So I will have to wait till I meet Herr Schubert one day, up there, and ask him, did I imagine that name ‘butterfly’ for one of his compositions? and maybe he will play it for me. :-)) Ah, memories…

Goodness and purity ought never to attract attention to themselves, they ought simply to be magnets to draw to Jesus Christ. If my holiness is not drawing towards Him, it is not holiness of the right order, but an influence that will awaken inordinate affection and lead souls away into side-eddies. A beautiful saint may be a hindrance if he does not present Jesus Christ but only what Christ has done for him. He will leave the impression – “What a fine character that man is!” That is not being a true friend of the Bridegroom; I am increasing all the time, He is not.
In order to maintain this friendship and loyalty to the Bridegroom, we have to be more careful of our moral and vital relationship to Him than of any other thing, even of obedience. Sometimes there is nothing to obey, the only thing to do is to maintain a vital connection with Jesus Christ, to see that nothing interferes with that. Only occasionally do we have to obey. When a crisis arises we have to find out what God’s will is, but the greater part of the life is not conscious obedience but the maintenance of this relationship – the friend of the Bridegroom. Christian work may be a means of evading the soul’s concentration of Jesus Christ. Instead of being friends of the Bridegroom, we may become amateur providences, and may work against Him whilst we use His weapons.

Can God be mad? This is a human emotion but helps us to understand the state our Father in Heaven must be in watching the downfall of a nation once a Light unto the World, now buried in sin. I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Don’t know if any of you are familiar with rock squirrels: a cousin of tree squirrels, but oh so destructive. They live in elaborate tunnels underground – a constant hazard to equids who have the misfortune to step in their holes.
We had an infestation. They caused $12 000 of damage to the underlayment of our tile roof! One day, they had dug under the foundation and into our bathroom. If you think it’s tough to see your mom in the bathroom mirror first thing in the morning, try seeing 3 squirrels doing the backstroke in your toilet!!!
We actually saved those 3 Mark Spitzs and humanely trapped 34 others over the summer. They all went to live at the Santa Cruz River Squirrel Resort and Spa about 3 miles from our home. Sometimes they would run back toward me when I opened their gate – and I became an Olympic sprinter!
Oh my gosh! I, too, trap my field mice that fall or dig into my basement egress.
In honor of you soazburrolady, I shall re-name where I release them as the “field mouse resort and spa” creek woods.

Other translations of today’s verse say, “Devote yourselves to prayer,” or “Keep on praying.” The idea in the original Greek comes from the same root that brings you the word “adhere.”
Paul is telling the believers at Colossae, “Stick with it.” Be watchful, he tells them. In other words, stay alert. Stay attentive to the things around you that require prayer, and prepare to be spontaneous in your conversations with the Lord. Then, keep an attitude of thankfulness.
Review God’s blessings in your life, your family, and your circumstances, always acknowledging your dependence upon Him.

Keller said, “Christianity without real experience of God will eventually be no Christianity at all.”
Become “stuck” on praying. Intercede for church leaders and pastors to be people of prayer themselves, calling others to return to praying as a lifestyle, especially including prayers for the nation during these turbulent times.

Good Morning my friends! I have missed interaction with you. Reading/lurking as I can. It has been difficult keeping my head above water as an independent primary care doc. It always is. Balance between self/care and the maintenance of my relationship with God and submission to fellow disciples, with family, and my profession/means of service, is more than I can do alone. But by the grace of our loving Savior, His mercy and blessings, each day is a day for gratitude.
We are still blessed in this country. May we grow stronger and bolder in our affirmation the God is the Creator of this world, that His will was interwoven in the founding principles and documents of our beloved nation, and that We the People are the governing authority over those who serve God in their oath to our inspired Constitution.
We are a city on a hill, called out of the darkness to be a light and reflect the Glory of our Lord, to be the salt of preservation among wounded and broken people such as ourselves.
I thank God for Sundance and the wolverines; the love,courage, and faith among the Treepers who adorn these branches.
May God continue to find favor to honor us with a zeal to carry His message of hope and promise to this broken and greedy world.
