Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The Donkey
When fishes flew and forests walked
And figs grew upon thorn,
Some moment when the moon was blood
Then surely I was born.
With monstrous head and sickening cry
And ears like errant wings,
The devil’s walking parody
On all four-footed things.
The tattered outlaw of the earth
Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.
Fools! I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.

Dear Friend,
I’ve never been able to get through this without bawling. Send it to the kids and g-kids every Easter and Christmas.
Yesterday, I started making a copper bowl into which I am enameling a likeness (hopefully!) of my Lordy boy – other students may have wondered why my eyes were wet.
Heartfelt thanks 🙏
Somehow I knew you’d be familiar with it, dear Corny. Your reaction is the same as mine. Each and every time 💕 🙏🏻
I’m sure the love pouring through your hands whilst you work will produce a masterpiece. 😘 🕊
You are too kind, Betsy. When I quit my job to care for my dad – best decision I ever made, I took up metalworking, enameling, etc and was thankfully able to sell some. No masterpieces, but keeps me out of trouble most of the time!
May your Palm Sunday be as full and rich as the music you post for all of us to enjoy
God morning, benzy 🙏🏻🕊
Almost slept through it, benzy. Just got back from a great lunch with an old friend . . . 🙂
Morning Garrison!
God morning, G 💕 The start of a week which will end in crushing sorrow but with such unimaginable joy to follow. Blessed be yours, dear brother 🕊🙏🏻
God afternoon dear Bet! Looking forward to Resurrection Day. When Jesus rode that donkey it was the Day of Visitation. Today is the Day of Salvation! blessed be His Holy Name.
May you have a very blessed Holy Week!
Oh, and thank you for The Donkey! Already sent it to my Bible study group. 😍❤️🫏
Afternoon, Gramps 🙂
God Morning, Garrison 💕 How utterly lovely….a lute. A most appropriate instrument for any Sunday. But especially for Palm Sunday I think.
I did check first to make sure you hadn’t posted our Sunday Benediction. Not that twice would be a bad thing…
Blessed…. truly blessed…may all in this wonderful Tree be 🙏🏻
And something from Vivaldi. There are many performances of this which I found, and it was a job to choose. But this is the one I selected because the voices of these young ladies were angelic, much as I can imagine those of angels in the Heavens sounding.
Glory to God in the Highest!!!
Afternoon, dear Bet. 🙂 I dosed off last night without posting our Sunday benediction. And on Palm Sunday, too!!! Thank you for filling in my (hopefully infrequent) blank spaces. Love Vivaldi!
Thank you, Garrison for the lovely sweet music. It’s very cold and blustery here with splotches of rain. This is so soothing!
You are most welcome, Lady. I intend to keep posting music as long as doing so is enjoyable. 🙂
St Francis of Assisi said in effect; it is in giving that we receive. I suspect your giving ways give you great satisfaction.
These birds approve your selection…
hahaha , yay! ♥️
Lots of names helping Carly on this one
hey monti ♥️
….. always have been .
Kind of freaky watching them animate part of the hair and the flower in a still photo.
Oh well. How long before nothing online is real?
hi Jim in TN … a video visualizer.. i like them, myself..
whats your weather there today ?
beautiful here ..
pleasant but cloudy. Very low 60’s.
no meatballs . good to hear ♥️
Oh my! That would be a dream shot for me.
A masterpiece!!!
When I have plenty of light I increase my shutter speed for in flight shots.
Lots of patience and millisecond timing.
And a whole lot of luck!
oh wow , very good ♥️
We’re fortunate to get to enjoy their delicate call.
Another approval headed your way!
🤗
“Fiddle dee dee.” says Scarlett
Thank you! I’m not a birder, I’ve heard similar calls without seeing the bird, and called them “oo tee dee” birds, after the alien that sounded like that in Star Wars (the original). Now I know they’re a variety of chickadee!
Very nice 404
Exquisite!
absolutely!
The whole album’s great!
Alain Delon’s love for animals is from childhood.
He says that his first pet was a female Doberman named Gala.
“Once I yelled at her and even hit her tail.
She sat up and looked at me.
I saw that she was crying.
Since then I understood everything, and now my dogs are always smiling”
Alain Delon is a member of the Society for the Protection of Animals.
He is the collaborator of Brigitte Bardot.
Once Alain Delon sent the helicopter to rescue a cat, whose leg was torn off by someone, tying it to a car.
The three-legged cat now lives in his mansion just like a three-legged rabbit…

Watching March Madness Games today, I was reminded of this song
Dire Straits – The Bug (Official Music Video)
one more Dire Straits
Dire Straits – Walk Of Life (Official Music Video)
one more sports themed song
John Fogerty – Centerfield
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqY7e4bP9PQ
Likewise Fogerty, another pure Genius At Work.
Very entertaining video- and I’m not even a sports fan!
Still love that song, and the entire album is always at or near the top of my musical thoughts. Knopfler and company are pure legend.
that’s the first song i’ve ever heard off of that album..i like it , and the video.. i looked for earnhardt’s car on the track …..
( the bug )
If you like Dire Straits try this
That’s a 102 minute try!
Thanks!
Yes, the first tune was what I was referring to Jim. I am ignorant of a way to clip out a portion of a video like that. I understand how to start a video at a given point but not how to pull out a segment. Anyone?
Other than searching for a clip where someone already cut it out, I have no clue.
This looks like it is from the same concert.
Guess that’s what I should have looked for. Thanks Jim
You’re welcome.
Even though I want people to state the time for long clips, especially talking heads,
I really enjoyed the whole concert.
So thank you.
Yep, that’s the one I found in my favorites.
Only by downloading (if one can accomplish that) and then editing (ditto).
Or maybe with screengrab, which can also take a lot of disk space. For that I use a great little utility called “ScreenRec”. Deep red bullseye icon.
Knopfler & Emmylou, have a couple of those in my favorites. Thanks for the reminder.
Previously posted, attributed to Willie Nelson (paraphrased if not exact): “There are two kinds of men; those who love Emmylou Harris, and those who never met her.”
you don’t know i love them ? 😉
hope you have a beautiful day goin’ on there today..
Thank you Annie and hope yours is great as well.
Funny, this is the first time I ever saw the music video tho I had the album when it came out in 1991 for the tracks Heavy Fuel & Calling Elvis as well as the Bug.
It always took 3 tracks from radio play that I liked for me to buy a disc back when there was no streaming / buying a single track.
Not sure Mp3’s even existed in 91 …. didn’t buy my house until 95 or so, bought some early software (X-ing) to convert my cds to Mp3 … still have those tracks on this (and multiple) hard disks & cd/dvd/blu to this day … even tho people trashed the Xing algorithm at the time as inferior …. I never heard an issue in them and certainly not now as my hearing is not what it used to be.
hi magic ..i enjoyed your comment.. i want to check those songs out later today, but first ..
i’m late with my boxers’ lunch !
Israel Update:
-The operation in Shifa Hospital continues. About 170 terrorists were killed so far and over 800 were arrested for interrogations. Amongst them already 24 hours ago we knew of 358 confirmed terrorists I don’t know the number now. The Commander over the Operation said that “we will stop only after the last terrorist will be killed or captured.”
The IDF is also at the same time conducting an operation to keep the Hospital functioning with tones of food and water and equipment and moving patients out of the dangerous zones. There is a rumor that we got another significant terrorist captured. Hopefully true.
-Again, the US is in opposition to the necessary step of conquering Rafah city at the outmost south of Gaza. Rafah still has 4 Hamas battalions and many hostages and their upper leadership and smuggling tunnels from Egypt. Also arguably some million people most of them refugees from other areas of Gaza. Israel will have to move them elsewhere.
In a talk with Biden Bibi agreed to send a team to the US next week to go over the plans because Biden is not happy with the planned invasion. Bibi agreed and next week his two highest right hand people Ron Dermer and Tzachi Hanegbi , both War Cabinet members will come to the US with plans and attempts of persuasion. Additionally Israeli Defense Minister is also going to the US next week about the same subject for a meeting with the US Secretary of Defense. He is probably also going to go over some of the military aide that we need right now. It’s a purchasing list. The US counterpart said that Israel should see if they can have an alternative to an all out invasion. Bibi said yesterday that we can’t win the war without conquering Rafah and we will do it even if we are doing it alone without US support. Ron Dermer said the same thing. Benny Gantz the guy who joined the War Cabinet from the opposition and represents a large part of Israelis (per poles) also said that we must take Rafa and Gantz is an ex-Chief of Staff and is center left wing politician. So there is a broad agreement in Israel.
The General Director of the UN came to the south border of Gaza with Egypt and said that “there is a world agreement against an Israeli invasion to Rafah and Israel must permit unlimited open humanitarian aide to all parts of Gaza to prevent hunger.”
He also said that only UNRWA should distribute the aide and the 6 UNRWA terrorists who participated in 10/7 were dismissed and the subject is under investigation.”
He said nothing about the Hamas who are stealing the aide and nothing about the Israeli hostages. Israeli Foreign Minister strongly comdemned him.
In an interview with a top War Cabinet member I understood that an invasion into Rafah can be completed in a matter of only a few weeks.
Blinken State Secretary who just visited Israel again also said that “The US is for defeating Hamas but there should be ways to do it without invasion to Rafah”. He warranted that an invasion to Rafah could “isolate Israel in the world and deepen the humanitarian crisis. “.
He is trying to stop the war premature with some hostage exchange deal.
(Note: Hamas will never give all the hostages without a guaranty that we don’t hunt their leadership. And we must hold their leadership accountable. We can’t let them come out of it alive, only if the leadership is at a threat of immediate death they may do a complete exchange of hostages for coming out alive and moving to Qatar or somewhere).
Israel didn’t start moving the population yet which shows that there is a hesitation because of the American pressure. Note: While we don’t know how serious the American threats are the Israeli public is perceiving Bibi as hesitating. Note: Rafah is a military challenge because of the dense urban area, they had time to boobytraps many buildings and streets and the IDF will have to be carful about hostages. But the IDF will handle it. The soldiers are lions and now experienced.
-Yesterday we had a terror attack in the West Bank (Judea and Samara).
A man who used to be a body guard of the Palestinian Authority and is well trained, prepared three positions and a sniper rifle. He shot at a bus and there were no many people in but when the army arrived he killed a soldier and injured five others one badly until a helicopter hit him with a missile.
-I have to mention here something that is not news but must be mentioned.
Israel is losing the public opinion war in the world. Hamas propaganda is succeeding to isolate Israel. Leaders in the West are buying into their narratives. It even reached Conservatives like Candace Owens who Twitted that “no country has a right to commit a genocide”. I have to say that it’s another mess-up of Israel. There are a few mess-ups,
one is the mess-up of the Intelligence on 10/7 and the lack of preparedness of the military for a multi-fronts war. Previous Generals reduced the size of the ground forces to a size that is now a problem. Then there is the dependency of the munitions. A country like Israel should have produced its own necessities. It has the ability and money. And in the Foreign Office there is lack of a well organized PR and Propaganda. There was an article today in a major media about the absurd lack of personnel and funds of this function.
So with all those mess-ups you can understand that poles show a dip in the popularity of Netanyahu and his party. But unfortunately, right of him the parties are too extreme and don’t have good alternatives to Bibi and Left of him could lead to a Palestinian State.
So when the time is right the best would be “new blood” in the leading party of Bibi. And there are a couple of good options. But for now I believe that Bibi is qualified to stand up to the Democrats with his experience and positions.
-50 rockets from Lebanon Hezbollah to North Israel. Some intercepted and some landed on open grounds. Israel bombed back deep in Lebanon, Htezbollaha Infrastructure. By the way the Iron Dome is designed to intercept only rockets which are heading to populated areas and leave the rockets which are calculated to land on open grounds. Also another note. When they attack Israel it’s causing damage and the main issue is that the residents can’t come back home. But Israel has “much larger sticks” and when we respond they have major munition sites and other valuable assets completely demolished. But try to get into the head of a Radial Shia Hezbollah person. It’s hard to tell what’s in their minds.
-The Office of Internal Security who is headed by the far right of Israel (Itamar Ben Gvir) is over the Police and Border Police. He took a project to arm the population.
While Israel have no Second Amendment nor gun culture like the US, and very strict arms laws he still managed to loosen up the restrictions and approve 100,000 pistols,
(Note that relative to the population of Israel you can multiply it by 50 times to get the proportions right). He distributed 10,000 rifles. Those are for standby civilian units and people who live in sensitive zones. In Israel there is no access to rifles unless you’re in a conflict zone or you’re in the armed forces or a part of a standby unit in a city or anywhere. He opened 900 new standby units.
He also wants to open and establish a National Guard of civilian volunteers.
Because he is pereceived as “extreme right” there is a strong resistance to let him do it.
But because Israel has 20% Arabs inside it and many of them have illegal weapons, a National Guard is necessary for a scenario they join their Palestinian friend in a time of crisis.
-Thousands demonstrated against the government across the nation. I am not sure how many, I saw some videos and it looks like less than what the descriptions in the media are.
At this point it looks like a small group (small percentage of the population) of far left. They also join the families of the kidnapped sometimes and that is another issue.
As to the families of the kidnapped who are on a one long daily demonstration of “deal now”, “release them now”. I feel their pain. Many of the hostages are really young and we keep hearing of more who died in captivity (including today Hamas released a psychological war video of a young man who they show him talking and then dead).
So my sympathy for the families. Israelis are very close one to another and are willing to do a lot for the hostages. More than most nations would.
One have to admit that the speed of the war doesn’t show a great care for the hostages.
I would expect a much more aggressive fast motion of the military. Every day that passes by is more suffering and danger for the hostages. Ideally we sit on the exits of the tunnels in Rafah and cut a good deal. You can’t release all the 134 hostages in various tunnels and structures by military operations. It’s not really possible. There will have to be a deal. But the deal must be acceptable and not one that will result in more murders than hostages released.
-an air attack by Damascus Syria. Probably by Israel on Iranian munitions for Hezbollah.
-Back and forth about the Hostage release deal. Israel is represented in Qatar by the Mossad Chief and a General. The mediator is the Head of the CIA.
Apparently there is a demand of Hamas to release 30 terrorists with life sentences for every female soldier and Israel agrees for 5 terrorists with life sentences.
This is all something that it’s better to shut up until it is agreed upon, because there are too many speculations on media without knowing the facts.
Hamas wanted an end of the war which Israel will never agree for it.
I personally would rather see Israel take over Rafah and squeeze Hamas so bad that they would make a deal without releasing killers. Releasing killers is both immoral, also results in father murders and more kidnappings. But we love our hostages. The government is responsible for them.
-And to end I have to mention the ISIS attack in Moscow. Looks like over 140 murdered and over a hundred in hospitals some badly injured. For sure my heart and prayers are with the injured and their families. But as to Russia as a nation I have a different view.
Upon 10/7 Putin didn’t condemned Hamas and in fact he invited Hamas leaders and other terrorists to Moscow. Putin chose a very pro Palestinian side. For him the war in Israel diverts attention and reduces munitions to Ukraine. Russia also just vetoed a UN resolution that called for a ceasefire and a release of the hostages in Gaza. So as far as I am concerned this is Karma or divine punishment or whatever name you give it, he is now attacked by Radial Islam that he supported.
-Targeted assassination in Rafah. An apartment was just hit by a missile. Tomorrow we will probably know who was the target.
-I just recalled another subject. The US approved the Budget for aide. Israel gets some 3.5 Billions of which some 500 millions are mutual missile defense development. This will greatly benefit the US because Israel leads the world in missile defense and God forbid if you ever find yourself in a World War against China or Russia you will need our Laser defense systems and Iron Dome and the whole nine yard.
Also many millions for mutual drone development which is also very good for the US.
But the original plan was 14.5 billions and this will wait for another time in the near future.
Also the US is not going to give money for UNRWA until 2025. But there is a catch. They do give money for UN Refugee Agency but not UNRWA. This can be diverted for UNRWA. But in any case there is a drastic cut in the numbers.
Some wanted a complete defunding of the UN. This didn’t happen. Trump would have defund the UN. The UN is not what it was suppose to be any longer.
I would say their real estate in NY is worth billions. I would just sell it and use the money to protect your south border of the US. It’s ok to dream.
God Bless you my friends.
David, thank you for the updates! I hope that next week the two War Cabinet members don’t bring the real plans to the US and the current administration because it would be equivalent of handing them over to hamas.
Shalom! And is it appropriate to say Happy Purim?
Good point. I think the US mainly wants to know how we will evacuate and keep the population alive. I hope they don’t give real plans.
Yes you can say Happy Purim. Thank you.
Thank you, David for this very comprehensive synopsis. There is so much to respond to, but I shall make only a few observations.
170 terrorists is, hopefully, only a good start.
In addition to the US being in opposition to Israel’s desire to survive, this administration is in opposition to the American people.
The UN ought to be bulldozed into the East River, with Blinken observing.
Thank you. Understood.
Thank you. I agree.
Today it’s the Jewish Purim holiday. The happiest holiday that we have. Here is a short explanation with an uplifting message.

Natures Bonzai and timberline trees indicate prevailing wind direction by flagging
Right at timberline in the Rocky Mountains where the trees can barely survive due to wind, sun and temperature there is a very special tree. It is nature’s own bonzai and it takes years (1500) to sculpt such a tree. Mount Evans Colorado has a special road that allows access to view these special trees. Luckily there are lots of images on the internet.
Have a grand day.
My apologies friends, due to sleep deprivation I find that I am posting too much and not very high quality (3 x use of the word special in a paragraph…duh).
The tree is the Bristle cone Pine.
Reminds me quite a bit of what can be seen up and down the Outer Banks in NC. It takes seriously hardy species to survive salt spray, salty dead sand and constant winds; specifically the dense scrub behind (west of) the easternmost sand dunes, which never grows more than about 6-8 feet high and perpetually leans/grows one way. I don’t know which species are the most heavily predominant (having never studied it specifically) but the chaste tree might be a good place to start.
The live oaks on the Carolina coast are something also. They spread all over and make great shade.
The Mrs. and I can’t resist a delicious burger while we’re out and about.
Living our best lives.

“I’m your US government and I’m here to help.”
Never let a crisis go to waste and the “Great Depression”………natural crisis or planned crisis? Every instinct says planned because the big banks always extract wealth in a down market, Covid anyone?
US Government – “You plebes don’t know how to take care of yourself so we’re justified in taking from you and remember we’re “giving” you money”. Welcome to the plantation but we won’t call it what it is shall we?
It is, of course, theft. But, it is government authorized and therefore to be praised (and used for nefarious reasons and given to many not qualified to receive.)
Let’s try this:

Today is the day of the Purim holiday in which we wear costumes.
Spider-man appeared in Gaza. A Reconnaissances solider.
If you’re into tactical aspects this one is the best you can get on how the IDF fights in Gaza. It’s long and super interesting for those who are into it. It’s also one of the most popular tactical channels on YouTube with millions of views.
THANK YOU for sharing David, always in every way.
You’re welcome.
💪🇮🇱🇺🇸💪🇺🇸🇮🇱 💪 David: Thank you for bringing this video to us here at CTH.
So much useful info for all of us from these 3 valiant combat soldiers.
I also enjoyed their sense of humor, especially Radio Halal😅.
May God bring a Shavuah Tov and Happy Purim and Success to all Israelis.
Shalom.

John Harrison
(1693-1776)
English carpenter and clockmaker who invented the marine chronometer to calculate longitude while at sea, dies at 82
Biography: John Harrison was already a successful clock maker when in 1707 the British naval disaster off the Scilly Isles and the loss of 1400 men prompted the British Government to begin a competition with huge monetary rewards to whoever could invent a reliable way to measure longitude at sea. Harrison’s quest to do just that would dominate the rest of his professional life.
Harrison produced his first attempt in 1735, now known as H1. It was subjected to a trial on a return voyage to Lisbon and largely succeeded. Harrison was awarded 500 pounds and asked to build an even better one.
Further attempts followed until Harrison’s H4 model was judged successful in 1765 and it was recommended that he be awarded £10,000. Harrison however fell out with the Board of Longitude who refused to accept his full results and insisted on further testing. It was only at the insistence of King George III that Harrison eventually received payment.

Biography: Known for his adventure novels and his profound influence on the literary genre of science fiction.
His most famous novel, “Around the World in 80 Days” is considered a classic of the genre and has been twice turned in to film, in 1956 and 2004.
Verne is considered a major literary author in France and most of Europe, where he has had a wide influence on the literary avant-garde and on surrealism.
DECREASING INTO HIS PURPOSE
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” John iii. 30
If you become a necessity to a soul, you are out of God’s order. As a worker, your great responsibility is to be a friend of the Bridegroom. When once you see a soul in sight of the claims of Jesus Christ, you know that your influence has been in the right direction, and instead of putting out a hand to prevent the throes, pray that they grow ten times stronger until there is no power on earth or in hell that can hold that soul away from Jesus Christ. Over and over again, we become amateur providences, we come in and prevent God; and say – “this and that must not be.” Instead of proving friends of the Bridegroom, we put our sympathy in the way, and the soul will one day say – “That one was a thief, he stole my affections from Jesus, and I lost my vision of Him.”
Beware of rejoicing with a soul in the wrong thing, but see that you do rejoice in the right thing. “The friend of the Bridegroom…rejoiceth greatly because of the Bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.” This is spoken with joy and not with sadness – at last they are to see the Bridegroom! And John says this is his joy. It is the absolute effacement of the worker, he is never thought of again.
Watch for all you are worth until you hear the Bridegroom’s voice in the life of another. Never mind what havoc it brings, what upsets, what crumblings of health, rejoice with divine hilarity when once His voice is heard. You may often see Jesus Christ wreck a life before He saves it. (Cf. Matt. x. 34)

March 24th Devotional
Good Sunday morning to my 🌳 🏠 friends!
The first time I watched this video it made me think of abortion and of all the little souls and that all these little precious souls that never had a chance immediately ~ in an instant ~ become irreplaceable! Every time I come back to this video I see this more and more thru the cinematics how their travel to Heaven must look like. I thank God that He sends angels to envelope each one and carry it to Heaven to be healed of their trauma, nurtured and taught of our Savior, Jesus Christ and His love for each of them. 💝

Greetings Treepers!
🙏✝️🙏
Good morning
Corny,
Give your sweet burros an extra special pet from me today on this very special Palm Sunday. Their ancestors were honored in their duty to our Lord. Such precious animals who work hard and bring joy. Blessings.
He Has Risen!
I just learned of this legend…after Jesus road in to Jerusalem it is said all burros have the sign of the cross on their backs. You can find pictures online. I don’t know how to post them but it’s true…they do have the cross…whether they had them before Jesus no way to know but I love the story.
Isn’t it beautiful, NanaB?
Our history in the Bible is magnificent to the smallest and humblest detail.
Hi Woo,
Yes, and extra carrots too! My Lordy boy (standard brown burro) had a very distinctive cross on his back, but, even though Louisa and May are basically white, there is still the fainter image of the cross on their backs. They are very proud animals, with very good reason! ❤️
I didn’t mean to leave my sweet Annabel out: a lovely dove grey burro with a beautiful black cross. This will upset some, but she died after illegals came through our property and left plastic bags containing food remnants. She ate it and died an excruciating death before the vet could make it here.
I know, that especially during this season, I should be forgiving – but, I struggle. 🫏
“DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OR TRASH ON OUR PROPERTY.
IT KILLS OUR ANIMALS.
THEY DID NOT DIE TO SET YOU FREE, ONLY AMERICAN SOLDIERS AND OUR FOREFATHERS DID THAT.”
Big signs in English, Farsi, and Spanish… maybe with a gun symbol on there
Yes, Woo, if it would work. But these are people who use a knife to rip open our irrigation rather than use one of the dozen spigots scattered across our property. They broke into our house and tore off our cabinet doors rather than just opening as a normal person does. I don’t pretend to understand the psychology- but, I think it’s a fairly good clue that they don’t care about innocent animals. 😥
Thank you for caring. ❤️
I’m so sorry, Soazburrolady,
I’m certain I couldn’t exercise one solitary Christian restraint if I were there.
The violations just keep coming. I’ve never seen or ever fathomed the intentional destruction of a nation.
All to cover the greatest ponzi scheme in human history.
It’s senseless.
Good morning Treepers,

Verse of the Day for Sunday, March 24, 2024
✟
“Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.”
Psalms 119:2 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
BUT GOD KNOWS
We do not know what tomorrow will bring
In reality we are not sure of anything
We close our eyes give way to sleep
There is no guarantee not even a peep
We say good-night to those we love
Entrust our rest to God above
Who knows the beginning from the end
Our entire life it is He who penned
Our days are full of challenges we know not
The what when why and how the outcome naught
As we awaken to a brand new day
It is God who is there to guide our way
It is He who brings light into our lives
It is we who strive and trustingly thrives
It is He who shows us the path the way
Who unconditionally loves us everyday
It is He who gave us our free will choice
It is He who gave us His grace to voice
Our decisions be they right or wrong
Will determine our stance weak or strong
Will we give in to temptation and quit
Will we be weak and meek not give a whit
Will we be strong and fight the good fight
Or will we be tempted to just take flight
We have no insight into what might come
We have no idea what direction from
If our lives are justified through others
If our needs are fulfilled by another’s
If we live each day in the last place
Will we ever be first in any case
Will we finally learn to love ourselves
Or leave our desires on the shelves
In every phase of life on earth
What we do will prove our worth
How we adjust to the highs and lows
Will determine which way our life goes
When stuck in a rut of sorrow and woe
We really have no direction to go
We haven’t asked God what He wants us to do
We are simply comfortable in feeling blue
We grieve our situation and that’s ok
He would not want it any other way
We seem to think we will figure it out
All on our own mind you we have no doubt
But God knows and He will wait for you
He’ll show you daily what He wants you to do
Signs and wonders before you displayed
All in the balance come forth to be weighed
Love one another is what you must do
Love one another as He has loved you
Listen to the clues He provides you each day
Being true to yourself is the only way
Now is the time to spread your wings
To set your sights on universal things
You might have no idea what that means
But God Knows what He put in your genes

Palm Sunday, 1965. One of the worst tornado outbreaks to hit the midwest occurred.
Two F-3 tornadoes that bracketed US-31 from the north side of Kokomo moving north for a ways. That March remains the coldest on record for Michigan. The town of Alto was almost totally wiped off the map. The brick church, where many went to seek shelter, was damaged but survived.
It was a very cold March in the Midwest that year. Still the coldest March on record for Michigan I believe.

Good morning and peace to all.
I read an interesting book on how Christianity and Judaism drew boundaries between each other. Border Lines: The Partition of Judaeo-Christianity by Daniel Boyarin.
Unfortunately, the book doesn’t start in the first century. Even discredits Jewish tales of the separation starting immediately after the Romans defeating the rebellion in 70 A.D. Says they were myths written long after the facts. And sort of proves that with many examples.
Mid to late second century, both groups started declaring heresy. For Christians, it was largely Jewish Christians, even when dealing with Gnosticism. (Not sure if author isn’t being too selective here. Lots of non-jewish heresies were disposed of too.)
For Jews though there was already a significant splintering into factions and the author presents attacks on Jewish sects but portrays them as slyly attacking Christian Jews without actually mentioning them.
There was also a similar thing happening in pagan religions in Rome, but the author only mentions it without any examples. Or even acknowledging that this could be part of a zeitgeist.
This continues for a couple centuries. There is a short lived attempt by Rome to declare Christianity a heresy and Hellenism a religion. But that fails and Christianity secedes in using heretics to cement its orthodoxy and supremacy.
For a time, Rabbinical Judaism did so too. But then there is a geographical shift, and the new power group, no longer in Palestine but in Babylon, permits a diversity of opinion, so long as one stays within their dominance. Yes, all the Jewish sects existing around the time of Christ are still gone. And Christianity is still heresy. But as long as Rabbis are disagreeing, God’s scriptures include all the different interpretations.
Well, this was just one author’s take. I was hoping to read about earlier differences and intermixing.
Frankly, author’s evidence was mostly citing prior expert’s statements and saying what he agrees with or disagrees with. Focus was mostly on Judaism. Lots of quotes from rabbinic sources. Descriptions of Christianity were sort of limited to accepting what these experts say, i.e. ‘everybody knows’.
Worse, there was a lot of Marxist psycho babble, especially in the introduction. I had no idea that so many Marxists study religion. Must be a great task to undermine. And the author didn’t just quote them, but also had much agreement.
I hate Marxist psycho babble. It is meant to disarm the reader by having the unlearned gullibly accept the weird terms and Marxist definitions.
With that in mind. The author also says this defining of orthodoxy through heretics was the invention of religion. Somehow worship of Gods wasn’t religion before this. And that ‘religion’ is a concept that has taken over since this time. But little space is spent discussing or arguing this. He does feel that Judaism escaped this trap. And does present ‘religio’ as the Roman term for correct worship with ‘superstitio’ as incorrect worship. He quotes Seneca ‘religio honors the gods, superstitio wrongs them’.
Christians did separate worship from time and place and kinship. But is that the invention of religion? And shouldn’t Hinduism and Buddhism be included in this analysis?o
One thing that bugs me in general, and in this book too, most examples of Jewish Christians are from very late in this game. Christianity started out with Jews. Christ and all the apostles are Jews. Peter has his vision allowing in Gentiles. But it takes Paul to really spread Christianity to Gentiles. And until it was destroyed, the center of Christianity was Jerusalem. How on earth did we get to the point of declaring Jewish Christians as heretics? But that is where this book starts, so I learned nothing about that.
Fascinatingly, the author presents the Logos as a long standing Jewish concept. Even prior to Greek influence. This is how the Rabbis attack ‘two powers in heaven’ without actually saying Christ. Christians weren’t inventing ‘the Word’. They were just adding a new twist in incarnating it.
And one other thing falls short. This presents a diversity of Jewish sects well past the authorship of the Bible. Even past the dates ascribed by those who say the Pharisees were only a small powerless group in Christ’s time, and so the Gospels had to be written much later when the Pharisees were in power. But according to this book, that fight for power was much later. The author doesn’t point out that by destroying the tales of Pharisees taking power after 70 AD, he destroys that argument to push the dates much later.
Anyways, I present it all as food for thought.
Not as divine wisdom.

Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?
Oh where, oh where
Has my little dog gone?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his ears cut short
And his tail cut long
Oh where, oh where can he be?
I think he went down
To the building site
To see what he could see
And in his mouth
Was a globe so bright
I wonder what could it be
Oh where, oh where
Has my little dog gone?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his ears cut short
And his tail cut long
Oh where, oh where can he be?
I last saw him by the bulldozer
Playing and running around
But I just can’t see him there anymore
He just can’t seem to be found
Perhaps the man over there will know
He may have seen him go by
Who knows where
He might have decided to go
But we’ve got to give it a try
Oh where, oh where
Has my little dog gone?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his tail cut long
Oh where, oh where can he be?
