A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird’s chest.

After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, “I’m sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away.”The distressed woman wailed, “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead,” replied the vet..”How can you be so sure?” she protested. “I mean you haven’t done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something.”

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck’s owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room.

A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot.

The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room. The vet looked at the woman and said, “I’m sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck.” The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman..

The duck’s owner, still in shock, took the bill. “$150!” she cried, “$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!”

The vet shrugged, “I’m sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it’s now $150.”

I just read something really sad, the young troops are not able to read letters written in cursive to them, they have to have the letters read to them. They are so used to computer text they can’t translate hand written mail. “Please type and print out letters”. Thankfully my person over there can read cursive should I happen to hand write something to him. Soon everything will have to be in emoji, the modern day hieroglyphs.

Deuteronomy 11:26-28, 31-12:4, 8-9 “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; a blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: and a curse, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known . . . For you shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell therein. And you shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day. These are the statutes and judgments, which you shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of your fathers gives you to possess it, all the days that you live upon the earth. You shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which you shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: and you shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. You shall not do so unto the LORD your God . . . You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. For you are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God gives you.”

The first commandment upon entering into the Promised Land, was to utterly destroy all the places where the Canaanites served their gods, to overthrow their altars, and break down their pillars, to burn their groves with fire, and hew down the images of their gods, and destroy the names of them from out of that place. The same applies to everyone who becomes a Born Again Christian; that upon our conversion, the first thing we are commanded to do, is to utterly rid ourselves of all the idols and abominations of the world, and of our old life; the places where we served them, everything around our former devotions, every image of the gods, and their names: all utterly destroyed and removed, to make room for the Presence of the LORD in our heart, and in our soul.

Although the dispensations of the times have changed, the statutes and the judgments of the LORD have not; neither for Israel, who are yet under subjection to the times of the Gentiles until Christ returns, nor yet also for us, who are grafted into Israel by faith in Christ. Although it has been taken away from Israel, to militarily force the nations into subordination to the law of God; we are nonetheless expected to do so in the Spirit; against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world; bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of the Christ; in preparation of the coming kingdom when Jesus is revealed.

What means repentance for the remission of sins, and conversion, if it isn’t first for utterly destroying all the places wherein the old man served its gods; to overthrow all its altars, break down its pillars, burn down their groves with fire, hew down the images of its gods, and to destroy the names of them out of that place! Every form or method, that men can invent for getting saved, that omits this first commandment and obligation, to set our account in order before God; can only make for a spurious conversion, and a treacherous and deadly deceit of the devil; lying and evil affecting the minds of men, so that they do not get saved.

Luke 11:17-26 “But He knowing their thoughts said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house against a house falls. Now if also Satan be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because you say, by Beelzebul I cast out the demons. But if I by Beelzebul cast out the demons, your sons, by whom do they cast out? On account of this they shall be your judges. If however I by the finger of God cast out the demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. When the strong being armed keeps his own dwelling, his possessions are in peace; but as soon as the stronger than he coming upon shall overcome him, he takes away his complete armor in which he trusted, and he divides his spoils. He that is not with Me is against Me, and he that gathers not with Me scatters. When the unclean spirit is gone out [away] from the man, he goes through waterless places seeking rest; and not finding, he says, I will return to my house from what place I came out; and having come he finds it swept and decorated. Then he goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and having entered they dwell there; and becomes the last of that man worse than the first.”

When we repent and get saved, we renounce the former life that was all against Jesus; and have sought God’s mercy and forgiveness, that we might from now on be in the favor of His righteous cause; and no more of those abominations that He hates. From the moment of our conversion, our manner of life is for bringing forth fruits meet for repentance. We are baptized in water unto repentance; looking for Him who baptizes in the Holy Ghost, and with fire: even Him, whose fan is in His hand; who will thoroughly purge His floor: and will gather the wheat into His barns, but the chaff He will burn up with unquenchable fire.

Mediocre and lukewarm, indecisive whether to totally let go of one’s life in this world; having the heart open to letting go of the things of the Lord, allowing of doctrine which we know the Lord hates, and causes Christians to eat things sacrificed to idols, and commit fornication: NONE OF THESE will Jesus know at all, in that day; nor shall any of them enter into the kingdom of God.

Of those ‘spirits more wicked’ than the first unclean spirit that was cast out; those that make the fallen away to harden his heart, and not be able to feel any more fear or conviction for sinning: this will make it far more dangerous for that person to never be saved. Sinning against the conscience, and not fearing God, to do worse and worse; even while there may remain the fading memory of what is right, and imagining one day to return to the Lord: the most common deceit that eventually destroys these kind; is that they are waiting for the right opportunity and the feelings, to motivate them.

If you no longer feel guilty, then it is a sign that God has let you have your choices. He has not changed His mind about the sins; nor has He taken back His judgment and hatred of the sin. So if you’re hoping for feelings to return, that you have long ago trampled under foot; you will wait in vain, for they won’t come. But when you will simply DO what you know is right, because it is right; then God will know it. If you would yet find mercy and deliverance; you cannot at this point wait for the feelings to come, to guide you. You have long ago killed those feelings; but you still know what you have to do to get right with the Lord. Just do it, without the fanfare or the emotional show: JUST DO IT; and the Lord will bless you for doing right.

Biography: Born of a patrician family, Julius Caesar rose through the political and military ranks of Republican Rome to become Consul in 59BC, establishing control of Rome by forming the so-called First Triumvirate with Pompey and Crassus.

Appointed Governor of 4 legions he conquered Gaul greatly extending Rome’s empire. In 49BC Caesar, refusing to give up his command he crossed the Rubicon and ignited civil war.

Appointed Dictator of Rome in 48BC he defeated his opponents before instigating a series of reforms, including the Roman calendar.

He was assassinated in Rome on the Ides of March by a group of conspirators including Brutus. His death led directly to the end of the Roman Republic and the establishment of the Roman Empire under Caesar’s heir Augustus.

Good morning all.

Got all the salvaged oak door trim from the living room has now been cleaned and has a clear satin coat of polyurethane sealer on it. It is ready to be reused. All the new oak trim which includes baseboard and crown molding, has been lightly sanded, then stained, and then had one coat of polyurethane sealer.

Today I will lightly sand each piece because the sealer makes the grain stand up in some cases, and then put on a 2nd coat of sealer. Once that is done, all trim will be ready for installation when the time comes and the next step is sanding, staining or painting the new oak prehung doors before they’re installed.

Had to custom mix the stain ourselves to match the stain on the old stuff as closely as possible.

While Sherry and I were doing all of that, Jay got the ceiling and wall primed in the living room. The primer used is sold by Sherwin Williams and it really did the job covering. Walls were washed before priming but the ceiling is acoustical tile that cannot be washed. But the primer covered completely in one coat.

Jay will be putting on the finish coats on ceiling and walls today. The walls have a grit type plaster surface texture and so when the new wall section where the door was removed is painted he will add grit to the paint to get it to blend in with the existing wall texture.

Progress is being made, and we sure will be glad when this is done. The house has been a mess for months now. And once we get that all back together and new furniture picked out and bought for the sun room, I have to start dealing with the yard and all that mess made out there when the garage and sun room were constructed.

THE DISCIPLINE OF DISMAY

At the beginning we were sure we knew all about Jesus Christ, it was a delight to sell all and to fling ourselves out in a hardihood of love; but now we are not quite so sure. Jesus is on in front and He looks strange: “Jesus went before them and they were amazed.”
 
There is an aspect of Jesus that chills the heart of a disciple to the core and makes the whole spiritual life gasp for breath. This strange Being with His face “set like a flint” and His striding determination, strikes terror into me. He is no longer Counsellor and Comrade, He is taken up with a point of view I know nothing about, and I am amazed at Him. At first I was confident that I understood Him, but now I am not so sure. I begin to realize there is a distance between Jesus Christ and me; I can no longer be familiar with Him. He is ahead of me and He never turns round; I have no idea where He is going, and the goal has become strangely far off.
 
Jesus Christ had to fathom every sin and every sorrow man could experience, and that is what makes Him seem strange. When we see Him in this aspect we do not know Him, we do not recognize one feature of His life, and we do not know how to begin to follow Him. He is on in front, a Leader Who is very strange, and we have no comradeship with Him.
 
The discipline of dismay is essential in the life of discipleship. The danger is to get back to a little fire of our own and kindle enthusiasm at it (cf. Isaiah l. 10-11). When the darkness of dismay comes, endure until it is over, because out of it will come that following of Jesus which is an unspeakable joy.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Missouri v. Biden is the case filed by the courageous Attorneys General from Missouri and Louisiana against the Biden Administration for their First Amendment violations. Specifically, the case complains to the Court that the federal government violated the US Constitution when it specifically directed social media companies to delete and censor comments, articles, accounts, memes, and photos they disliked. The case also alleges the government engaged in a wholesale de-platforming of specific users, specific comments, and specific topics.
The government was purposefully censoring truthful information.
