I “had” a friend – huuuuge RINO – had two cats named “Clinton” and “Obama”. Treated them horribly. Big fancy house, but kept them in the basement or outside – out of sight, out of mind. Now WHO would name their pets after someone they can’t stand?
There were things about that powerful man that just weren’t congruent. I keep a most healthy distance for they are big in the well-heeled RINO party here.

The other day we were trying to think of anything he had ever done wrong. Couldn’t think of one thing – except for going to heaven when we weren’t ready. He was 13 1/2, unusual for a dog that size, and I had been giving him every alternative treatment for cancer that I researched. Gave him an extra 2 years.
Anyhoo, Woo, he was named after Charles Sweeney who piloted Bocks Car and delivered the bomb to Nagasaki. I have a soft spot in my heart for all the crews on Tinian Island with my dad. ❤️
For a time, they called me JWooHoo for a while. Feel free, Corny, dear. I saw that exchange with you and Betsy.
Our Betsy who I lovingly called Besty Beasty Betsy after a time with auto correct or another.
Sometimes she can really beast up and I love it. She and her southern stares are forces to be reckoned with. Lol
I only give our pets human names. Sometimes they come with nicknames.
Harold the Maine Coon or Harry Houdini AKA Romeo for he is the most affectionate cat we’ve ever owned. 4 years.
And there is Timothy the blonde domestic short-haired. AKA Tim or Timmy-Two-Toes… very mafioso ganglandesque. He hates dogs and hates us for loving dogs. He is very protective of his human mom, Savannah. 13 years.
We lost Tim’s litter mate brother Daniel, a gorgeous, elegant, refined and serious Russian Blue last December. We haven’t quite gotten over him. Dan AKA Dan-O-Man was always the adult in the room. When Tim went completely bananas over a poor basset hound we tried to babysit over a 4th of July weekend… his brother Danny was our hero and pressed Tim up against the wall to save Savannah, me, and Boscoe the dog from harm.
Our pets are not only our loves, but each has their jobs and purpose and they are quite chivalrous.
Makes it super hard on me when they go to Heaven, but I delight in the thought to meet them all there. I believe my Heaven couldn’t be perfect without them.

ERROR!! You echo what we say in this house. We know so little really. I have caught videos of interactions between different species which defy explanation. In many I am witnessing almost human behaviours that leave my mouth open.

Did you know that the Fox easily bonds with humans because of its canine DNA? My friend, a professional wildlife rehabilitor, must cover her face fully when feeding and caring for foxes and their kits because they are easily domesticated.
Her job is to heal them, train them in survival, and to release them back into the wild.
She has a surrendered hybrid named Thunder who is a cobalt and silver gray cross breed… captive bred… who acted out adversely after over stimulation being put in a petting zoo. Wild animals don’t belong in petting zoos.
She also has a 26 lb raccoon that gave me a hug. So many neat stories.

Thinking about just that, ‘W00. Friends down the street adopted an elderly poodle mix. He’s a small little guy and really needed the good home they’ve provided. Really got me thinking.
A still pleasant memory—On the patio of a favorite restaurant . . . Sweety putting her head on my knee, looking at me with her soft border collie eyes . . . and claiming me as her person.

Agree entirely and good for you both! Most (possibly all in Ia) state supported colleges have “open admission” policies which means Savannah could, if she chose go ahead and start college without a HS diploma or, alternatively, with a GED.
I mention this only to let you know that there are alternatives.
That said, I commend you both for sticking it out and demanding fair treatment from teachers and administrators who think of themselves of “gatekeepers”. Your message to them was perfect. And with someone as assertive as your daughter, she heard you loud and clear.
Having done things this way myself, the victories such as this one can be very satisfying.
Great job, JWoo! It has been many many years since my advocating at school for my kids. But, both of them have told me that not only having me there, but having my support and outspoken defense meant everything to them.

This morning is my final IEP meeting on behalf of my daughter.
At the middle school yesterday, there was a threat of a student with a military assault rifle and a bomb on the premises. They evacuated the kids and they were seen crossing the field between the middle school moving to the high school to take cover.
THE PARENTS OF THE HIGH SCHOOLERS WERE NOT INFORMED OF THIS.
It is not on the media yet. Supposedly it is on Facebook, but I am not on social media.
Savannah came home and said that the authorities did not find the student who posed the threat.
This is at least the fourth major threat we have had in two years – that I am aware of.
Last voting cycle – during COVID there was a multi-million dollar referendum for Indiana voters to allocate towards student safety. Superintendent Milleman with Lebanon Community School District out of Lebanon, Indiana threatened that if the voters did not accept the referendum – that our children’s safety would be at risk. He got the money. We did not get the safety.
My indignation is at fever pitch. The only thing I asked for in her last IEP was that she use a written daily agenda – they refused to do it. My daughter is failing their wicked school – yet she is slated to get a diploma. How is this possible? I refuse to send her to summer school to pay $250 a class to shove more of their woke agenda down her throat. I am GLAD she’s failing their school – that means she is not like them!
An exert of an email recently sent – with some interesting statistics:

Biography: George Eastman was an American entrepreneur who founded the Eastman Kodak Company and popularized the use of roll film, helping to bring photography to the mainstream.
Eastman’s key innovation was the development of roll film, which was more convenient and accessible than the photographic plates that were commonly used at the time. His slogan, “You press the button, we do the rest,” encapsulated his vision of making photography simple and accessible to the general public.
In 1888, the first Kodak camera was introduced, pre-loaded with enough film for 100 exposures. It was a simple box camera that truly brought photography to the masses: relatively affordable, portable, and easy to use. Once the film was finished, the entire camera was sent back to Kodak, where the film was developed, prints were made, and a reloaded camera was returned to the customer.
Eastman’s contributions went beyond photography. He was also known for his philanthropy, donating significant amounts of his wealth to various institutions and causes, such as the University of Rochester and the establishment of the Eastman School of Music. He also contributed to historically black colleges and universities and other community and educational facilities.
Eastman’s impact on business practices was also notable. He was a pioneer in the development of employee benefit programs, including profit sharing, life insurance, and retirement annuities, to ensure the welfare of his workers.
Despite his success and contributions to society, Eastman faced health problems in his later years, suffering from a spinal disorder that caused him constant pain. He ended his own life in 1932, leaving behind a note that read, “To my friends, my work is done — Why wait?”

The first thing to do in examining the power that dominates me is to take hold of the unwelcome fact that I am responsible for being thus dominated. If I am a slave to myself, I am to blame because at a point away back I yielded to myself. Likewise, if I obey God I do so because I have yielded myself to Him.
Yield in childhood to selfishness, and you will find it the most enchaining tyranny on earth. There is no power in the human soul of itself to break the bondage of a disposition formed by yielding. Yield for one second to anything in the nature of lust (remember what lust is: “I must have it at once,” whether it be the lust of the flesh or the lust of the mind) – once yielded, you are a bond slave to that thing. There is no release in human power at all but only in the Redemption. You must yield yourself in utter humiliation to the only One Who can break the dominating power viz., the Lord Jesus Christ – “He hath anointed me…to preach deliverance to all captives.”
You find this out in the most ridiculously small ways – “Oh, I can give that habit up when I like.” You cannot, you will find that the habit absolutely dominates you because you yielded to it willingly. It is easy to sing – “He will break every fetter” and at the same time believing a life of obvious slavery to yourself. Yielding to Jesus will break every form of slavery in any human life.

As I have aged, it is so much easier for me to lean in fully and yield to God. I yield into Him as if I am romantically inclining to a beloved. A few months ago, I had a rebellion… similar to feeling like a jilted girlfriend in His Eyes… not that I am God’s “girlfriend”, but it was the only analogy I could liken the feeling of abandonment to.
Thus, I said to myself “FINE! I’m just not going to ask You for anything anymore. For others, yes, but no longer for me. You Will do what You Will – so little matter if I should have any input in the matter, right God????!!!!”
However, I have been so accustomed and conditioned to yielding and inclining that to act rebelliously felt totally foreign. Like going to bed angry… it just didn’t feel right. Something was amiss. Lackluster.
Non-Christians believe that Christianity is a form of bondage – however it is quite the opposite. It is the ultimate freedom. It took very little time for me to run back into my Father’s Arms. His “captivity” is my solace and peace. In His Presence I wish to remain forever.
Praying God blesses you, Stevie, as you labor through tax season and that He brings you joy that makes others question why you smile so broadly. (hugs)

For your consideration: Alexandre Guilmant’s Symphony #1 for Orchestra and Solo Organ!
Guilmant is perhaps better known for his religious works (I grew up with his Masses at my parish church in Ohio, where we had a fantastic organist).
But this work proves he could compose for larger forces!
The work poses the question: if Johann Sebastian Bach had been French, and lived in the 19th century, would he have composed like Guilmant? 🙂
Both bonsai and rock outcrop in eccentric, off-balanced, harmony … leaning … cantilevering … yet upright and stable. Even the moss is thriving in such a tenuous setting. And the pool of molten rock … cast off from the cliffs edge … cooling in the sea creating a new landform.

The movie had its blemishes, I ended up surprising myself by liking it more than I thought I would. Horse lovers will especially enjoy it. Being shot in Pennsylvania and with most of the filming at a Horse farm also helps.
We will have to check this one out. I purchased kiddo horse movies for her birthday. Fits in with the theme. It’s the big 18 – so also Newsboys and the Billy Joel/ Sting concert weekend in St. Louis. One more of year of school. We are going to par-tay!!! Like it’s 1999! Lol

But Jesus says you must stand ready, stay awake, stay tuned to the word of God, so that you will survive all that is going to happen and be able to stand confidently (con-fide, with trust) in the presence of God together in community (see Matthew 24).
That is the attitude of waiting that allows us to be people who can live in a very chaotic world and survive spiritually.

The Clinton Foundation were in charge of the $13+ billion in aid to rebuild Haiti. Bill Clinton used the phrase “build Haiti back better”. The Haitian People never saw that money, and now their country is ruled by cannibal gangs. This is what the Dems mean when they say “build back better”. They do not care about helping the needy. They are only interested in enriching themselves under the guise of “foreign aid”. All of the money went to Clinton-affiliated contractors, who kicked it back to the Clintons via donations and other means. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Can someone explain to me how Bernie Sanders and Congress can legislate the hours that someone’s works? Is this in the purview of Congress? Does he want to make it illegal to work more than 32 hours in a week? Although retired now, there were times when it seemed like I worked that long in a day! Focus on things that really matter in this country.

Sounds like bill is geared to section 8 people living in places where the minimum wage is 15-20 dollars as they can’t work 40 & stay on section 8 at that rate.
I think they can tho, they just draw the line where overtime starts @ 32 so no employer will pay 1.5 rate will be not affordable … makes me wonder about health insurance line drawing to as I believe that is also line for forced coverage.
