Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The authors surely do have it in for the King James version of the Bible I’ve noticed. Wonder what they will think of the new AI version where Goes Himself, as well as Scripture, will be removed.
Your auto correct did you a huge disservice in that comment.
Good morning Betsy!
Good morning, Monti 💕 UGH…it’s early, my friend. No coffee yet…
But it made my point. To those globalist satanists who consider themselves to be gods and have so stated, Almighty God is a fantasy, and as such must be removed. They’re working on it.
Good morning Bet! Just sit back and watch God remove the satanists.
wishing you and Chris a blessed weekend. I am off to a landscaping workday at the parsonage. Actually, it will be half a day. ❤️😍
Morning, bro… what a good man you are. Don’t wear yourself out! Blessings, dear friend 🙏🏻🕊
Saw this one this morning–
Q-Is English food really that bad?
A-Yes, if made correctly
Haha!!! Not so, Joe…the English roast dinner is a thing to behold and even more so to eat!!!
Just plain cooking, which is always the hardest to pull off. No sauces not hide behind.
And now I’m hankering after one!! 😂👍🏻
Is lemon custard meringue pie on the menu again?
👍🏻 😁 !! Last week as it happens ! Mmm hmmmm gooood 💕
I might have made it here…see the lemons??
But I might not have and am only wishing I had…
Sigh… a family cook’s dream. I bet the windows look out on beautiful English tea gardens.
Nearer to God’s heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth, Woo….so the poem goes 💕🙏🏻
Oh my. Portuguese?
I’d say that, or Italian, WSB. Can you imagine the view? 😍
I would faint before turning on the stove!!!
😂 😂 😂
Oh, I remember brief mention of it!
Seems as though it was whisked away and placed in a pie safe.
I’m married to the pie safe 😎 You weren’t wrong 👍🏻
:p
Over the course of my lifetime I’ve determined my favorite pie…
Round pies. Sliced and on a plate.
Some pie pieces can be eaten over a kitchen sink but in limited or no company. Says a friend…
HAHAHAHA!!!! I have witnessed this with Taller Half. He thinks I am not looking!
Morals and manners out the window!
We have limited time when it comes to delicious pie :p
That’s how I eat pumpkin pie. I get a “MOTHER” from my daughter when she catches me.
Ha!
Welllllll the pie safe is a mighty blessed pie safe!
My mother has a wonderful pie safe. No pies in it, but beautiful!
Good Caturday afternoon, Bets. Your lemon custard pie prompted me to whip up a lemon ice box pie to take to family dinner Thursday evening. Always quick and yummy.
Dang Gramadeb!
Sounds…sounded delicious!!
I don’t see a pie in the oven or fridge over here.
Thinking about moving to a pie friendly state.
Lol, it was the quickest thing I could think of to take to a last minute dinner. That and a pineapple upside-down cake. Hahaha, Mom comes thru in a pinch.
Oh, I would LOVE your recipe!!!!
I have a very easy one from a Key Lime Juice maker…Nellie and Joe’s.
On their plastic container, they have an egg-based pie recipe but in their website they have a no-bake recipe.
The no-bake is sweetened condensed milk mixed with a third cup Nellie and Joe’s Key Lime juice (I use a 1/4), and then folded in to a container of Cool Whip.
Shove into a pre-made Graham cracker crust. Put into the freezer. Done!
Here you go, WSB. Enjoy.
8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons or a teaspoon of dried lemon zest. (I have a jar of McCormick)
In mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese till smooth. Stir in the milk, lemon juice and zest till well blended. Pour into 9 inch graham cracker crust or pre-baked pastry crust. Cover and refrigerate a mi imum of 2 hours to set. Tip with whipped cream or not.
*can be made up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated or frozen up to 3 months.
Oh, that sounds terrific and easy! Thanks for sharing 👍
Really the key lime and lemon come out the same with either the Cool Whip or the cream cheese.
With this I can agree. I remember a wonderful London restaurant that served roast beef by guéridon service in a lovey dining room.
Just do not remember the name.
Huge popovers!!!
Those popovers would have been called Yorkshire puddings. My mouth is watering thinking about them.
Indeed, yes. I am foggy to the day yet! Crackling fat, dough and into the oven they go!
Exactly!!! Lard…and lots of it! 👍🏻
Some of the finest dinners I have ever had were roast dinners at my sister in law’s Welsh farm house. Plainly cooked. We could taste it all as the veggies,.potatoes, and meat were meant to be tasted.
I ADORE WALES!!!!!!! Was able to spend time in the Snodonia Mountain range. Palé Hall. Baby black sheep braying one to sleep at night!
Ohhhhhh….my heart….
It stole mine and kept it, my friend. We were surrounded on all sides of our home by sheep. Spring was the best time…those lambs! 😌💕
How can I thank you for those stunning photos???
Popovers on Sunday – Heaven on earth. My dad would invite us to obliterate a dozen (for 3 of us!). He always said they must have enough butter to halt earth moving equipment in the Republic of the Congo to really enjoy them.
When the Belgian Congo fell in 1960, the world was breathless in its efforts to support the fledgling country. The US sent literal tons of butter, which was used to lubricate their large machinery. The salt content of the butter corroded the works. Then, of course,we replaced the machinery.
The more things change, the more they remain the same!
LOLOLOL!!!! Yet NEVER enough butter on popovers/Yorkshire puddings!!! Sweet whipped butter works as well!!!!
Oh Lord! Well tomorrow is Sunday!
Thank you for the pic. ❤️
Mmmmmm Yorkshire pudding … my kids scarf them all up
Oh my word. Will wonders never cease!
LOL!!!
Tried to have kippers once for breakfast at a posh London hotel. Had to ask the head waiter over to return them. He laughed gently and said that they were an acquired taste even for Britons!!!!
The kippers graciously left the table.
On their own? Or were they taken away!?
Ha!!! One gorgeous English waiter, and three small yucky kippers on a plate!
Yet, had I awaited about 10 more minutes, yes, they could easily have scurried away on their own!!!!
YUCK!
Ever tried black pudding? Now that’s where I draw the line…
Bertie Wooster, that well meaning but thick in the head creation of Sir PG Wodehouse, always had kippers for breakfast. Truly some of the most wonderful books ever written. Need a mood booster? I recommend Sir Peregrine’s stories without hesitation.
How lovely!!!! Yes, I have had black pudding. Rather enjoyed it.
I must say that our party of six couples rented a castle in Guthrie, Scotland one summer.
All was wonderful, save for a bit of hot water during showers in the morning, until the chef offered the ladies a liver mousse on crackers one afternoon before we all left.
Turned out we ALL got food poisoning, after flying all over the world! Just awful. Some of the couples were off to a wedding in NZ, we were off to the Whiskey trail in northern Scotland…you can just imagine!!!
We only realized this when we all got home and sent messages to each other.
The chef did not refrigerate the mouse at all, and we figured it all out. What a mess!!!
Had a great time through Scotland, anyway.
Here is the castle…original is 14th century, I believe. Was not expensive for twelve.
Had a BALL there!!! Chess outside at midnight!!! See the chess board? Wonderful! Do I have stories!

Not sure why this double posted. Adrem, if you need to remove, please do! TY!
Oh WSB!!!! What gifts you’ve given to me today!!😍 And now my heart is heating that much faster. I am so glad for you that you saw these two nations long ago. So much has changed…so much…sigh…
Oh, Betsy, my own heart goes out to you and every other person for restoring our God-led earth. I will continue to pray.
As John Adams said, we can only have a republic if we have ‘morals’.
A Republic, If we can keep it.
When I was a tourist and not the resident I would unexpectedly become in Great Britain, we saw Scotland at the height of summer. We were in the hotel bar and I was enjoying a Drambuie and ginger ale. One more, I said, for then it will be dark enough to go to bed. Two more and the sun was still up. I looked at my watch…11 pm. I hadn’t stopped to consider just how far north we were. So I toddled off to bed…sun came up at 3 am…
So I can well imagine that chess game at midnight! What a jolly time you all must have had…irrespective of the food poisoning. UGH!
Oh my. Drambuie can put one out cold with a severe sugar headache!!!
Bless you, Betsy. Yes. Exactly as you describe it. A jolly time had by all!
Nice one!
🙂
Garrison, tell us about the additional four strings on that lute?
The additional strings are sometimes called “drone” strings and were added to enhance the overall sound, both volume and sound quality, of the instrument. They could be tuned separately or tuned to vibrate in sympathy with the main lute strings.
How gorgeous!!! Odd and unique. Why would anyone tune this part differently? “Vibrate in Sympathy”. Tell us more!
And what about the 90 degree tuning? I do not know what to call this part.
Thanks, Garrison.. very soothing
🙂
Good morning, Garrison 😘 Bach and coffee! Tell me there is anything better on a quiet Saturday…I’ll wait 😉☕💕
And good CATURDAY morning to you, Tink, precious and very good kitty 💕
Knock, knock…
I can relate…
Ha ha ha!
I just had this conversation on the phone with my animal crazy daughter. And yet, we love them both for their divergent qualities.
There ARE those moments….
With all the sleep issues, watching a cat sleep so LUXURIOUSLY is something to behold. And maybe even envy a little.
Good morning, Greg 💕 Halcyon days for our moggie friend on that bench. I hear you…
Brought you a coffee -> ☕☕☕
Back a bit late today, thanks for the coffee!
Four of mine sleep exceedingly well – because they’re are on top of me, except for Rosebud who sleeps on my head and chews my hair! Cats rule in the sleep department.
That, my friend, is non debatable!! 😂
Nooooooo doubt!

Betsy, you gotta look😂
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!! Poor squished kitty 😂😂😂👍🏻
Kitty sammich!
👍
I was now, a last, real teenager, having just a few weeks ago celebrated my 13th birthday (at the end of November,) .
Now it was January, and I remember saying to myself, I’m 14 this year, 15 next year and 16 the year after next. 🙂 I felt very grown up.
That looks just like my Zane Grey, except Zany weighs at least 25 pounds. Rescues think every meal is the last one! I’m afraid to actually use a scale (as
I am for myself), but I’m hoping I get a warning concerning My last supper!
I’m sure our granddog, the Mags (Maggie) would break the scales. We’re keeping her for the weekend. Her vet on the last visit for something else patted her and told her mother (my daughter) they could address that later. Our scales, probably like yours, are covered in dust 😂
I saved this for you, Corny…knowing absolutely that you will love it!! 💕
I can’t stop laughing! I warned you that I had a Lordy the burro story for today, so I shall tell you this one:
We had him for 25 blessed years. And this one was from about 20 years ago:
I was washing dishes one morning and saw three illegals (identifiable from the plastic bags and cocksure look on their faces) crossing our property. I put a firearm on my hip, ran out the door, and ordered (yes, ordered) them to Vamos!
To a man, they turned around to point at me and laugh. Oooooo, I was fuming. So, I kept ushering them down a rather long drive to our gate. All of a sudden, I heard a sound like a freight train coming up behind me. I turned to see Lordy, head down, ears back galloping after the usurpers (I thought I saw smoke coming from his nostrils, but may be embellishing). They ran like Olympic sprinters, and cleared the fence like Bruce Jenner (yes, still call him Bruce). I still laugh when I congur that sight. My husband always says, “you should have called me.” He was in the shower and I don’t even want to picture that sight!!!!
Thank you Lordy, for being my protector. ❤️
Great Story , Soazburrolady ! Our Protectors Surprise Us Sometimes with Who They Are ! Awesome 😊
Indeed, RyderLee
Have a wonderful evening!
Thank You , Soaz , and You Too 😊
LOL! Love happy endings! Here in the Texas Hill Country the donkeys make excellent coyote guards.
Yes, exactly. I’ve made tons of mistakes, but one of the worst was allowing Lordy to be the only equid for a time. We had lost our blind horse to a brain tumor and our old Maudie mule to old age. My heart was in pieces, and we didn’t realize how badly Lordy needed help. He was a wreck trying to watch his back all alone. 😔
We got 2 rescue burros to keep him company and share the burden. He was back to his old self in days!
OMG!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 !!!
You’re killing me !! LOLOL!!!! Those beautiful animals really are protectors. Bless his life, God bless him 🙏🏻 Now I’ve just pictured your husband sans attire doing the same…ears back, smoke coming of his nostrils…LOL!!!! You don’t have to picture it….I’ve done it for you! HAHAHAHA!!!
Ha ha ha! I’m going to show him your reply. He will be beet faced while laughing!
And how we got there 😁👍🏻
😹

Afternoon Patience! ❤️
Yup , that is my Baby !
💕 😁 😁 😁
I think so, too 💕
And finally…or not…I wish for everyone blessings, both small and large, in our Tree. So many that they will be hard to count 👍🏻💕
And to you and yours Betsy..🙏😘👍
🇺🇸💪😀👍
Morning, Jim. Thank you, dear sir 😘 Here’s a coffee for you, too ☕💕
Amen to that, Jim. Thanks 🙂
Sorta looks like a sign!
😂😂
i don’t think i’d argue with that!
Nor I….lol!
😢. Except that seeing them live their best life afterwards may be the most rewarding thing in my life. Apologies to my progeny – but, they understand and feel the same. So much for my parenting!
We have always said that whatever else happens we know our animals couldn’t have been given better lives. Saying this has been a comfort for each one we’ve lost. Mine feel the same about theirs…one piece of me they got that I am most thankful for.
Betting they got a ton of “good stuff” from you, friend.
Thank you friend for all the cat “fodder” this am. I’m sure I’m driving the kiddos bonkers. Another plus!
Actually had a minor crisis phone call from the daughter this am, and I am late to the 🥳 🙃
Pray all is well 🙏🏻 You are most welcome!
I am so glad you found your branch in this Tree…I dare say you are as well 🤗😘
Thank you, dear Betsy ❤️
I have been a dedicated lurker since 2016! (But not a “dedicated follower of fashion”) We went to a Trump rally in Phoenix and the people next to us wrote out the website information for me. Have been to 3 Trump rallies since. The last one was October of 2020 – hotter than hades in Tucson. People were literally dropping like flies on the airport tarmac – but no one left except those on a stretcher! Truly, the ambulance came non-stop. We have a fair amount of medical experience and tried to assist, but it was something to behold.
The liars in the media would have you believe that Trump supporters are all “white Christian nationalists”. Not so. Most are Christian, but there is actual diversity at his rallies. The common theme is love if country.
Anybody that’s been at the business end of a milk cow
knows that cat trick is the real deal.
Nobody better than Larsen. He was on sabbatical too long.
😂 😂 😂
Perfect! Ha ha
They swirl around me as the opener is whirring, knock my hand and the tuna goes flying (I give them people tuna). Two minutes in, they’re assessing the contents of the others’ bowls. The little piggies among them are eating like jet engines and the more mild mannered are giving up their food. In swoops the referee (moi) to try to straighten out the mayhem. Rinse and repeat!
As is customary, little ‘Tink waited until I got up this morning and only then joined me in the kitchen for a first cup of coffee. She likes to sit next to my right foot while I drink my morning coffee at the table.
Little Tink is one well-mannered kitty. How lucky you both are. 😺
She was a feral kitten. Then, 4 years later, she suddenly became a “cat” and lap kitty. Didn’t know that could happen.
Oh yes, some but not all can become lap kitties. The younger you get them, the better. I’ve been “taken to the bone” by a few who weren’t in the mood!
Mornin’ Bet 🙂 Agree entirely. Bach and coffee always make for a good morning ritual. BTW: a friend gave me 4 “bricks” of Bustelo the other day. She bought them at Costco. Didn’t know Bustelo was sold that way. I usually buy the regular cans at my local HEB.
Morning Garrison!
Mornin’ Gramps! 🙂
Good morning, G and Tinky.
How are you doing these days? Is the scale work on your guitar continuing to improve your hand?
You’ve been rather quiet, or maybe I’ve just missed the posts and I’m sorry for that.
You’ve not mentioned many excursions lately and I do hope you’re continuing to make dates with your friends to visit.
Thinking of you, brother. ❤️
Not doing so well of late, dear ‘Woo. A problem I’ve had my whole life is that well-meaning people, often good friends, decide they can “fix” me by giving me directions. This has been happening of late.
I don’t like to be told what to do. They never seem to understand that their directives are a dead guarantee that I won’t do what they say.
They honestly think they’re helping but the exact opposite is happening. This has sadly been happening for a long time and is quite intrusive. My learned response is always “NO” and then I go quiet until they either get the hint or go away.
The old saying of “Too many saviors on my cross” definitely applies here.
Oh friend.
I’m not happy to hear this. What exactly are they trying to “fix” you think?
Not intending to sound like I’m psychoanalyzing you disrespectfully in front of the masses.
But I am concerned and not afraid to express such if my once very outgoing friend Garrison is getting isolated.
Remember, me and another guilty party on this Tree chiding tree downing or pruning shenanigans? So I’m more than culpable to wield my “infinite” wisdom when concerned about my friends wellbeing and safety. I’m just conveniently tucked hundreds of miles away where your full wrath can’t reach me! And my anonymity makes mine a clandestine attack!
Oh, G, what I do not want to hear… is that pain or frustrations are turning you inward. That is not you.
My father died very much alone due to stubbornness and he hurt me… his only biological daughter… pretty badly in his final moments on this earth… deferring to his malicious brother who ended up looting his home once my father’s body lay dead, but still warm, in the heart hospital.
My uncle and his wife parked cars on top of his lawn and raided his home. My 35 year neighbor… knew my family longer than I had been alive… called me in Seattle from Indiana screaming and crying and losing her mind. (I had just flown back to Seattle one day prior when Dad quite suddenly succumbed to pneumonia after surviving aortic aneurysm.) I had ty go back as I had run out of time and had court with daughter’s father and I managed a $170 million account for the company I worked for. I didn’t know my father would pass as the hospital was working the details to move him to rehabilitation center because he was getting too well to be at the hospital. I guess that ended up not being right, either.
I called the Indy PD, with Joanna and her son screaming in the phone, on a three-way constance call and they refused to help saying it was “a civil matter and to get an attorney”.
I immediately called my half-brother to tell him to secure the home as best he could. Much was stolen from my father.
The events broke my heart terribly and fracturedmy family beyond repair. My father was so manipulated and his connection to me was a threat to the manipulator. He was terribly isolated and I could do little to fix his squalor conditions especially with new baby on my hip. I couldn’t even sit her down in his home nor would the manipulator allow me the use of his car while I was in town, so I stayed with my childhood friend. It is telling that Ic did not stay with my brother or sister, I barely knew them.
I could see it all and my half siblings were too worldly to figure anything out. They hated my father, though… understandably… and they couldn’t see the forest through the trees until it was too late. My street experiences and personality profiling training through my work, and frankly Spiritual Discernment that I wasn’t familiar with its power at the time… assessed and knew in my heart something was terribly wrong. When the manipulators wife had my baby in her arms… I was prompt to remove her from her grip. (The manipulators son was a child molester, they’re daughter a drug addict, and that family had much history of interference by the law.) I did not know such extent until after when I performed a background check into them all, as I considered legal action for my rightful inheritance. I never did that. I have all I need from my father and the most important things… none will ever be able to steal away.
Why do I tell you this? Because maybe those closest to you see something you don’t see?
Do they really love you and are not intending to manipulate, but are intending to be faithful and true in their love and warnings?
Do not shut the good and holy out, dear friend.
My deepest fear for you is that should something dreadful happen that you and my little furry friend Tink could not get good help. It’s my PTSD from my experiences that makes me so endeared to my senior friends… because I could not help my own father from 2500 miles away.
I had my father moved to be buried with my mother in the the three cemetery plots he purchased when my mother died when I was 9. Maybe one for him, mom, and me? Who knows his thoughts at the time? My evil sister refused to allow him buried next to my mother, and she moved him to the free miltary cemetery 120 miles away in Madison County without my consent.
Broken and messed up, I tell you, but to her feelingsand actions… she was quite unaware how their marriage relationship ended in my Mom’s final year. The had found love again and it was the three of us left when the three siblings were at least 10 years older than me and had moved on growing their own lives to not be able to bear witness to what I saw.
It is why GOD HIMSELF brought my Dad to me in a dream two years later to show me that my father was okay in his heavenly home, to help me to heal my heart and sadness over our loss.
Dear G, as we age… even me in my stupid age of 50… our bodies and minds don’t always do what we want. You should have seen my face today… red as beets or an oompa loompa because my blood pressure just simply wasn’t working with me. Landed me on the couch resting and canceling an outing with daughter.
I hope I’m not “all over the place” in my expressions… but my gentle suggestion to you… that you can hate me for later… is to pick two or three of your trusted friends and choose to trust them no matter what. Listen to them because you know they would never hurt you…. but please don’t shut them out due to your pride or need for fierce independence. They may see something that you don’t.
You are my brother from another mother. You are adopted. You are family and these people in the Tree love you.
I just don’t know when to shut my mouth, so I boldly go where no one goes before. I used to make jokes that my boss could pull a string and my marionette mouth would say out loud what everyone else was thinking, because I could get in less trouble for it due to my naivete. Oh how I’m sure that my behavior caused me major strife in my life! I pay for it to this day.
But I’ve never gone to bed with regret that I didn’t try. That I left anything unsaid, any rock unturned, or anyone knowing that I loved them. When you lose like I’ve lost, you know time is just too precious.
If Tinky Toes ever needed help or a place to call home… I’ve got two big brothers for her and a daughter who will be fit to be tied when her own kitty moves on to heaven like his brother Danny did. I rue the day of picking up more breaking of her hurt. So she would be most welcome and well-loved.
I pray for you, Garrison. If you feel inclined, maybe some gentle conversation to explain to your overreaching friends that you’re not accustomed to such smothering but you’ll try to be inclined and listen intently to their sincerity with reasonable and faithful discussion.
You need your friends, brother.
Now you can only be truly mad at me for FIVE MINUTES… then you must get over it and move on with me. Okay?
Now… I’m going to take my incredibly patient daughter on a little drive for an hour. I have an important appointment upcoming to show her.
I’ll be back later this evening and I’ll look for your response.
Blessings on you, friend, and for any others on this Tree who need to also hear the words that I have spoken and to apply them to their own scenarios.
We only get one go-round on this earth. Make it a good one. Love you, all.
Thanks for your kind, heartfelt words, dear ‘Woo. My post, I fear really needed some editing for clarity before I posted it. When I mentioned “well meaning friends” I left out the most important descriptor . . . uninformed.
Here’s an example. A dear friend, a very successful entrepreneur called and spent the entire conversation giving me instructions on how to have a better life.
Turned out he was frustrated because he had previously given me some instructions that I obviously hadn’t followed. When I explained that 1. I’m dyslexic, have a variety of related cognitive deficits which 2. include a serial ordering deficit which wasn’t at all compatible with his detailed instruction set, he was dismissive.
He had no knowledge or even any interest in understanding dyslexia and cognitive deficits—He actually implied that I simply wasn’t trying hard enough!
So, how am I going to handle all this? First of all, this ain’t my first rodeo. This has been a pretty constant feature of my entire life. This is a good friend who I intend to keep.
The next phone call I get from him (this will probably happen in a few days), if he launches into one of his “navigating life” diatribes, I’m simply going to tell him to stop giving me orders.
This is not a bad person. As mentioned earlier, he is a well intentioned, although uninformed, friend. The problem is simply that his advice—show more discipline, really bear down and use his “work-hard-problem-solving-rules”—doesn’t comport at all with the clearly evident cognitive limitations of my disability.
So, although I feel some frustration in all this (at age almost 80 I’m entitled) I’m not going to show acrimony. I’m simply going to stop him and then tell him to stop telling me what to do. He’s a bright guy so I’m betting he’ll get the rather strong hint.
Sounds like you’ve got this. First know thyself!
Sorry for being a buttinsky.
I would give half of my remaining years to have friends like yours who consistently checked in on us and inquired after our well-being. We tend to do all the dialing, but our phone rarely rings. I guess everyone thinks I’ve “got it together” – well, I sure as hell am not sitting around waiting for someone else to do things for me. When you’ve got tending to do, you git to it! There’s no use complaining.
It is impossible being an island. It is my prayer that Savannah will find “her people” and that they will help her navigate her future safely and securely. She has not yet mastered her learning difference. I hate calling it a disability, for in many aspects of her “differences”, her superpowers are found.
No one would know about your dyslexia, Garrison, had you not shared it. It is a mercy that you do and that you share your overcoming. It gives hope.
As for your very successful entrepreneur friend – I wonder what in his opinion could be better in your life to make it worthy of the oxygen to dictate?
If my daughter found a love she adored, worked even a modest job, and simply had meaningful conversation around her dinner table every night, satisfaction in gazing up at the stars, enjoyed camping and building blanket forts with her kids, and lived faithfully by God’s standards – I think I would be most pleased with my legacy here on this earth.
One can have the most meager of existences and be 100% wholly blessed and content.
You have your mantra for marriage about trust and loyalty. My mantra in my life is acceptance and contentment. Trying not to want so much that I covet everything – we are all not dealt the same hand. What I have is enough. I love that I can ask my daughter what she wants for her birthday and she has no earthly idea – she has no needs – and nothing she truly wants. She has all that sustains her and uplifts her and she is content and happy… which is miraculous for me.
I have a few acquaintances of the “powerful” and I sometimes find them tedious with their constant striving for power that they simply can’t take with them when the go.
At what age can we stop striving and just find PEACE?
“He had no knowledge or even any interest in understanding dyslexia and cognitive deficits—He actually implied that I simply wasn’t trying hard enough!”
That’s like someone telling me I did something wrong – or didn’t pray hard enough or correctly – resulting in our maladies.
Simply clueless. I’m sorry. I shake my head at many things, sometimes, and then pass them off to the God Box for Him to contend with. I simply can’t stand too long dwelling on it. I got tending to do!
Yes, “clueless” is a proper description, darlin’ ‘Woo. He is very good at making money and also a good and loyal friend who intentionally befriended some guys he barely knew. Very good at finances, he simply didn’t have the psychology background or even the interest to understand what I was telling him. I’ve actually had people (not my friend, fortunately) blurt out . . . “But you seem so normal!“. It just seems to go on and on, sometimes.
Just marvelous, Garrison!
I hope you are doing well.
I’ve Been better (see my above note to dear friend ‘Woo). Good music is always a big help, however.
Garrison, is this a new or old lute?
It looks like a recent build to me. Contemporary luthiers build their instruments in the style of historic designs.
pine log state forest
nw florida panhandle
the pine forests of s. carolina, georgia, and florida are truly restorative places.
spend some time there and you’ll feel better, think better, do better, and be better!😁
🙂 Its late night or early morning. The last set is finished. The staff is putting up the chairs . . . The band is packing up . . . but you have some more blues in you. They aren’t gonna mind if you play a bit more git-out-the-door music for the regulars. It’s just you and the remainders who can’t quite find their way home yet. So Snowy White plays his Midnight blues . . .
Back in the day—this is the mid 60’s—there was a tiny bar on Westheimer which wasn’t far from my apt at the time. They didn’t ask for ID (I wasn’t quite 21) and you could hear Lightin’ Hopkins for the price of a good beer. I could easily walk there and hear wonderful Texas blues music.
The ‘Bird’ was definitely one of those legendary secret places that urban culture supported in the Bohemian 60’s. It was the kind of place that a novelist would want to describe as magical.
It was my first time in a big city and I absolutely loved living where i was living. I discovered that Guy Clark and John Townes Van Zandt lived down the street in Montrose. It was a wonderful time to be young and adventurous in the big city of Houston. I look back on those days and my friends, Jonnie-May and Lois—with genuine affection. They were good Texas girls, pure and honest and great friends. Long may they wave . . .
These were halcyon days and I am honored to have experienced them. Casual experiences shape one’s life. These experiences certainly shaped mine. 🙂
Lightning!
Along the lines of your post Garrison….
A night at the little bear in Evergreen, CO. With Matt Guitar Murphy and his band. Dive bar, exquisite blues till way late. Returned to Denver on a wee hours Hd ride. Noticed my foot pegs were worn from the corners…..foolish but what a memory.
🙂
Telaphone Road Bars back in the day
Now good at Jacks Bar and across the street at Cadalic Club
🙂
Our staff used to hold staff meetings in a reggae club in Houston in the 80s.
🙂
Your cabinet is full of delicious mental cocktails, Garrison…drink up and get drunk on the memories 💕
Funny what stayin’ up late can do to a person, Bet 🙂
The quiet absence of external stimuli tend to allow mental pathways to open up…letting us remember further back in the neuron stack.….
Those positive memories tend to be retrieved more frequently and thus move up in the ‘top 100’ list of favs…. Nostalgic thoughts are our best memories…
When you post these Garrison, you paint pictures with your words, not just of the scenes but of the accompanying feelings & emotions as well. So it’s not too hard for us to imagine some of what you experienced…. (tip of the hat.)
A peaceful evening and a great Sunday tomorrow to you…
Thanks so much. You just adroitly summarized why I so enjoy telling stories.
👍
i always think of you garrison , when i listen to songs like this .. ever since i read on here one night, several years ago , something similar you said ♥️
Thank you. I’ve become aware of late that I tend to repeat myself, perhaps a bit too much?
lol, absolutely not. ♥️
All the good stuff bears repeating, man!!
Love it ❤️
See… love, love, love…. repeating, repeating, repeating.
God loves us. Do not worry, He Says. Repeat, repeat, repeat!
‘Woo, ‘Woo, ‘W00 . . . I think I get it, love. 🙂
🎶I have been a remainder. Sometimes the music is just not ready to end. 🎶
Oh, yes. I think Jim Hall’s “All Across The City” jazz guitar solo captures that very early morning vibe perfectly. Once upon a time a friend had way too much to drink. Once of the club’s dancers took him home and let him crash on her couch . . . Only in Texas???
Garrison,
You ignite so many happy memories. I’m younger, but when I moved to Texas at the behest of a Navy man who worked in the Captain’s office of the USS Ranger (Top Gun aircraft carrier)… he looked at me with his redhead Elvis Presley looks and said “Joanie, Texas would love you” in his Round Rock drawl… I melted.
I didn’t follow him to Austin, but settled in San Antonio where I had a childhood friend and a former roommate in Austin, so I knew a handful.
I became quite involved through my work socially with the Stock Show and Rodeo, BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Assoc), and SAABE (San Antonio Association of Building Engineers).
We worked hard together and played hard together and it was truly the BEST time of my life with meaningful work and meaningful friendships with quality people.
There was a large honkey tonk. We were always there dancing all night long. Leaving around 3 AM, heading to sleep for 2 or 3 hours, then off to breakfast, and then to our work by 8 AM. Young and invincible we were.
One night at that honkey tonk, Diamond Rio, just dropped in and played a full set.
The men with their starched shirts, stacked pressed jeans, shined boots, and just so cowboy hats… and the women so beautiful and feminine.
My favorite was the Cowboy Cha Cha.
Lots of gorgeous starry nights and gentlemen and ladies learning to be gentlemen and ladies.
I pray my daughter have such experiences some day and I pray this world will return to a safe one where she can. Every girl should have the experience of dancing with a chivalrous cowboy who tips his hat to her.
What beautiful memories, JWoo, and they live on because you share them with us!
With a mom like you, Savanah will amass her own, and I know you will be a part of them
I was an only child also, dear ‘Woo. I got “adopted” by Jonni-May and Lois. Buncha’ kids in the same urban apartment complex. We more or less grew up together.
I hope Savannah has a similar coming-of-age experience. Sometimes you find the experience and sometimes the experience finds you. In describing her, you’ve shown us that she already is a good judge-of-character. As it did for you, dear ‘Woo, having that quality will be invaluable when she’s just starting out.
That was a time in my life when I found that my father’s life-lessons . . . were all true. Years later, we were bass fishing on his favorite lake. I put my rod down, looked at him, and said, “Everything you told me was true . . .” Dad just smiled, gave a small nod, and we returned to fishing.
moved
My dad literally never lied to me. Not even fudging on some silly issue. Not to say he was unkind in any way, but the most honest, straightforward, dependable person I ever knew. I was lucky enough to tell him that. And….still, after his passing 13 years ago, I try not to disappoint him.
Burro, that is the ONE thing I pray my daughter remembers always. The value and integrity of our words. She has a unique surname – one that carries much history – and one that she should never malign in honor of my father.
So cool that you are here with us, friend.
Many thanks for your warm welcomes. ❤️
Truth, Burro 🙂
Remember Lyle Lovett’s “Texas wants you anyway . . .”
Don’t go there… G. I can barely handle it. I’m not certain I’ll ever be back there, but for the eight years I was there – I truly found myself – and I am forever grateful to her and her people.
Having a strong self-image and being a good judge-of-character will see her through, dear ‘Woo. And you’re both working on that. The great parental lessons, IMHO, don’t come naturally . . . they have to be given. That’s your job. 🙂
Sweet, sweet, Snowy White … on a snowy night out here in the Sierra
Well I’ll be darned!! Where did that double post come from??
Last big snow, perhaps, Kenji? Love the high Sierras. Life is good.
March and April can still see big snow storms.
That has a real Dire Straits feel to it
… Garrison and Betsy … this one’s for you. Isn’t the internet amazing. Yes, this woman has arranged Knopfler’s song for her classical guitar. But she’s true to his notes and melody. How absolutely BEAUTIFUL a tune is Brothers in Arms when you hear her play it … how creative and uniquely Knopfler-sounding a song.
Oh bless, dear Kenji…
This is what I love best about this Tree, this thread. So many friends, so much sharing. Beautiful. Thank you 😘
Another cup, Bet? 🙂
Sadly … I’ve drained the airpot … and it’s only 3:00p … my 4:00pm cup won’t happen today
Interesting.
She is also doing the percussion accompaniment.
But I am fascinated how she recreates the distortion.
Thanks for this, Kenji. You are right she stays true to the music—I always thought Knopfler was an especially heartfelt composer. His music always showes a lot of “head work”. Melanie stays in Mark’s lane with this version.
straight through the heart .. 💘
Classic jazz riffs. Thank you! 🙂
I 44 just got put on my life list … along with hwy 61 …
Simply beautiful… from start to finish. Thank you for gifting us with this gorgeous music

Good evening, Betsy!

Happened to one of my Grandma’s teacups last night. 😔 Can’t honestly say I don’t react angrily at first, but, then I remember it’s a thing, not a beloved being. Have a glass of wine and get over it!
Sorry!!
But, at least, now you know it doesn’t bounce! 😀

Dang! The music that came out of Muscle Shoals … good grief
Speaking of Roger Hawkins … he did a stint with Traffic too. Perfectly suited to his playing style
Whoops … forgot David Hood was there on bass as well. Yeah, Steve Winwood knows a superb rhythm section when he hears it … two of the four GREATS from Muscle Shoals.
An amazing place, an amazing group of musicians and a magical era

Dropping Savannah off with friends at a Colts game where Peyton Manning’s bronze stature was unveiled, the Presidential detail was there a few years back. Some of them happened to Shapiro’s Delicatessen just up the road grabbing lunch for their troops.
These guys were all around me. I’m 5′ 3″ and these guys are BUILT like skyscrapers and linebackers all rolled into one. How does God build men such as these… like He has an Adonis assembly line?
They were talking to me about what’s good at the legendary deli and when sharing with them they said “How do WE NOT know about this place?!” (I bet they KNOW EVERYTHING.)

The Grunts Prayer
Oh Lord, thank you for granting me another day to stand up against the tyranny in the world today, blessing me with the will, strength and fortitude to continue walking, digging and fighting all over this once blessed United States of America. Please continue to help me carry this rucksack and weapon by walking beside me and lending your loving hand apon this yoke I proudly wear. Please bless me with a full ammo pouch and full canteen, one for the enemy around me the other for the enemy above, so that I may prevail against one and endure the other. Please bless me with the light of the moon and stars when I need them and clouds and rain when I desire cover from my enemies eyes. Please ensure my aim is true, that my creedo “One Shot, One Kill” is fullfilled, that my enemy does not suffer and their end is swift and complete. Please Lord, protect me from short rounds and friendly fire from my allies, so that I might continue to honor my oath to the Constitution of the United States of America. Last of all Lord please for.
Amen 🙏🏻
Good morning, dear DG and Miss Trouble 💕
Been missing seeing her!
HAVE YOU FELT THE HURT OF THE LORD?
“Jesus said unto him the third time, Lovest thou Me?” John xxi. 17
Have you felt the hurt of the Lord to the uncovered quick, the place where the real sensitiveness of your life is lodged? The devil never hurts there, neither sin nor human affection hurts there, nothing goes through to that place but the word of God. “Peter was grieved because Jesus said unto him the third time…” He was awakening to the fact that in the real true centre of his personal life he was devoted to Jesus, and he began to see what the patient questioning meant. There was not the slightest strand of delusion left in Peter’s mind, he never could be deluded again. There was no room for passionate utterance, no room for exhilaration or sentiment. It was a revelation to him to realize how much he did love the Lord, and with amazement he said – “Lord, Thou knowest all things.” Peter began to see how much he did love Jesus; but he did not say – “Look at this or that to confirm it.” Peter was beginning to discover to himself how much he did love the Lord, that there was no one in heaven above or upon earth beneath beside Jesus Christ; but he did not know it until the probing, hurting questions of the Lord came. The Lord’s questions always reveal me to myself.
The patient directness and skill of Jesus Christ with Peter! Our Lord never asks questions until the right time. Rarely, but probably once, He will get us into a corner where He will hurt us with His undeviating questions, and we will realize that we do love Him far more deeply than any profession can ever show.

I have a hard time describing the depths of apathy. Saying you don’t care about anything is putting too much emotion into not caring. Well, caring about other people understanding is also very unapathetic.

Sadly the REAL RCMP’s cannot seem to solve any of the 68 church burnings in Canada that have been torched since the utterly bogus story about “ground penetrating radar” discovering “mass graves” of indigenous children on the grounds of Catholic operated Residential Indian schools.

Verse of the Day for Saturday, March 2, 2024
✟
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
BE MY VOICE
JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
CHILD NOT CHOICE
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
RECONCILIATION WITH GOD
Have mercy on me, my Lord and My God;
Trapped in iniquity I have trod;
Against Thee alone have I surely sinned;
‘Tween a rock and a hard place I am pinned!
I acknowledge my transgression, Oh Lord;
Away from your presence, there’s no accord;
My sin is ever before me, Oh Lord;
Evil in Your sight – I cannot afford!
Purge me with hyssop – and I shall be clean;
Wash away my iniquity – unforeseen;
Hide Thy face from my sin – blot it all out;
I cry unto You – let there be no doubt!
Restore me by grace – give me Your wisdom;
Leave me not lingering in this chasm;
Uphold me secure in spirit divine;
Break the grasp of sin – let me not opine!
The joy of salvation has bypassed me;
Uphold and mold me – oh please set me free;
Open my mouth – and I will sing your praise;
Forgive me my sin – my voice I will raise!
From my transgression – oh, make me anew;
I will teach others what they need to do;
Sinners will seek to reconcile with You;
From my heart, I promise this I will do!
Whenever your sin is before you to see;
Waste not a moment – repent ye quickly;
Be not away from His presence assure;
For the wages of sin is death for sure!
Be not afraid – He is waiting for you;
So humble yourself – you know what to do;
Ask him to wash your transgression away;
Refresh you – renew you – this very day!
There is only one sin with no recompense;
The sin of unbelief really makes no sense;
When the Spirit convicts you – do not hide;
Ask Him to cleanse you from outside inside!
The last step is important to complete;
It is the requirement – most replete;
Reconciliation with God – you must do;
If you want His Spirit to live within you!

Hello all. Back from Daytona beach. 15 hrs and 5 min. For the total trip. Time for some sack time.
Welcome home, Rob and Sherry
https://www.naturalnews.com/2024-03-01-interview-transcript-dr-sherri-tenpenny-20-mechanisms-of-covid-vaccine-injury.html
“Dr. Sherri Tenpenny discussed her extensive research into the dangers of Covid-19 vaccines, highlighting 40 mechanisms of injury caused by these injections.
These mechanisms include neurological degeneration, penetrating the blood brain barrier, which has led to personality changes and cognitive function erosion in many individuals who have received multiple doses and boosters. Dr. Tenpenny’s research is based on peer-reviewed publications and journals, providing evidence-based information about the adverse effects of these vaccines. “
“This question that comes up on top of that is how long does this shedding phenomenal go on? You know, the mission of Spike protein or have whatever it is that was in the lipid nanoparticles or whatever it is that that was passing from person A to person B, and causing them to have all kinds of side effects, including abnormal menstrual cycles and those things how long does that shedding phenomena go on?
…’ And so, you know, nobody really knows, and nobody really cares. And they all the people that would care, the scientists that would want to do that kind of research, they lose their funding, if they try to do it”
“Nobody knows the answer to that either. I mean, if somebody does, I’ve never seen it published. And I have my head in this literature every single day. Now, again, who’s studying it? First of all, people don’t believe it. I mean, the scientists don’t believe it. The mainstream propagandists say it doesn’t exist”
“Mike Adams: You know, it’s even worse than that in France, they just passed a law. I’m sure you’re aware of this, where you can go to jail for three years for saying that you don’t like the mRNA Covid injections.
You can be fined, imprisoned?
Dr. Sherri Tenpenny: Yeah. What does that tell the general people? What do you what does that tell you about what’s coming next and why you need to know about it.
Mike Adams: Right, right. Exactly. I mean, forget about the science. The science is supposed to be able to hear criticism and hear new evidence and self-correct based on new evidence. Now, it’s not the science, it’s the prison. If you don’t agree with us, you go to jail. “
🎯 👍👍
Any video with Sherri Tenpenny is bound to be very good. She is one of the original early fearless warriors for truth about the deadly dangerous Covid Quackcines. She was on the case in 2020.
Yes, she was ahead of the brave warriors who realized what was going on. May God bless them.

I hasitated if to post it because Michael Rapaport said some bad things about Trump which I hated but he now changed his mind and said he will not vote for the Democrats and is considering a vote for Trump.
This is an Israeli famous satire comedy show. It is brilliantly produced and looks like the Oscars.
😅😍🇮🇱 Well done!
Excellent. They really are a self-centered hypocritical bunch of dimwits.
A little adventure….
Interesting about the Pilgrimages. Of course St James of Compostela is a famous one.
“ I decided to embark on an adventure in rural and forgotten Europe – this time in Spain – in order to discover Europe’s dying and disappearing villages. I show you why Spain is so empty and what I encountered was interesting – yet sad, and this isn’t just happening in Spain, It’s happening in many countries in Western Europe. ”
Sounds rather appealing.
EVENING PRAYER
Dear Burrolady, remember we were talking about’ no coincidences’ ?
I was looking at a video of a house in Derbyshire ( Uk) just to see what it was like, as some of my ancestors came from there in the 1800’s and earlier. Farmers and self employed. Some of them likely still live there. Some of the place names of the villages from the 1841 cesus are quite delightful,
like ‘Toad Hole’, and ‘Windy Bottom’ Strawberry Hill, and ‘Bottoms’ to name just a few.
I have driven around there, and been in the caves, but that was a long time ago. There were a list of peoples names underneath. Guess what name was included there?.. Yes ‘Nurse.’ and in just a few days. It pops up again, a name I have never heard of in my life before. Isn’t that strange? 🙂

I’m in, Duchess. When all the furballs big and small are fed and bedded tonight, I’m watching. Can’t wait!
Missing Cat Saved ‘Just Moments’ Before Being Crushed at Junkyard
“Almost crushed – now home safe! Just moments before a junkyard employee sent a car to be crushed, he paused to remove the battery,” the rescue center wrote. “As he popped open the hood, a bundle of fur jumped out and took a blind leap of faith into his arms.”
“She looked at him with soft eyes, thanking him with slow blinks and soft purrs. It was almost like she knew that her life had been saved.”
“Soon we heard from the junkyard that a man was frantically searching for his lost cat,” the organization said.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue officials then reached out to the man, who was ecstatic to hear that his beloved pet was found safe. He gave permission for Lilly to get vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed at no cost before she “melted into his arms as his eyes filled with tears of joy.”

Beautiful night here, can hear the wild geese rafting up for the night on the lake. They’re probably a mile or more away. No one ever accused geese of being quiet right? They fly alot on moonlit nights and they always talk when they fly.
Waiting on the old pressure canner to start jiggling that weight.
