Very true, Lorrie. It is so interesting that Little ‘Tink came to us as a feral kitten. She lived with us as a more or less domesticated feral. Then, surprisingly, a few months ago she changed pretty dramatically. Suddenly, after 4 years with us, she decided she was a c-a-t and no longer feral.
Now she no longer hides and has become my lap kitty.

Well, the local farmer that my daughter found and bought some lamb from ( she asked me to go in with her, half and half) for $15 a pound provided the lambs grandfather. I’m joking but only a little. I know lamb and that was lamb at one time.
I don’t mind paying more but not double for not what I expect to get.
Speaking of lamb… Swift (brand) sells an Australian rack of lamb near me and through the Fall, it was expensive ($42 for a 1 1/2 lb.) but then the price halved (and we bought) and then it halved again, and we bought 2. Then, as a matter of necessity, we needed to source and buy new lump charcoal and found one (jealous devil) we’d never tried before with high ratings. WELL, let me tell you, it was absolutely, undeniably, the best tasting lamb we had ever tasted, bar none. Jeepers! Who knew the charcoal could be so much a contributor to the grilled food?? It was served with freshly roasted beets and yellow squash. OMG! Best meal of the year, so far. Next? A spatchcocked chicken.
I’ve found great deals on high quality lamb at Aldis.
Been buying breast plates lately and oven-roasted low and slow… they’re really delicious. I had never bought the breast plate before, but once I got the hang of it…I buy 2 at a time and freeze them.
We are really frugal shoppers but we eat like royalty.
Aldi’s will go on deep discount sale after Easter.
I’ve got the farmer’s butcher in a little po dunk unglamorous grocery. I can get a shopping cart full of nice meat for less than $100 with their 5 # and 10 # sales that run from the 1st to the 15th monthly. It’s where our seniors in our community shop too and they are the sweetest grocery store clerks ever. Like finding a little miracle. Their hamburger looks like flaked sirloin and the Maine Coon loves his little morsels.

Stay behind assets will embedded in the government, NGO’s, private enterprises, military, community organizing groups, etc. to activate and create, coordinate, and execute violent mayhem across our country to stop this deportation order. And, the agents in the judiciary will frustrate the prosecution of anyone involved in this mission. There appears to be careful planning around this deportation order just like there were planning by the fed’s around J6 to twist it for their own objectives.

When I read through that article, one thing alone jumped out at me – the writer himself (Philip Reichert) doesn’t ‘get’ Trump or more importantly, doesn’t ‘get’ Trump’s large and expanding base of voter support.
What might first appear as Reichert’s praise of PDJT’s charisma and ability to attract a large and dedicated following, IMHO is really the author’s respect only for what he obviously believes are PDJT’s political manipulative abilities to accomplish all of that. I believe thats the objective of the article, evidenced by the fact that Reichert never once addresses the “red meat” (specifics) of MAGA policies that Trump voters have wanted for decades but never got from GOPe “conservatives” (RINOs) despite so many promises and grandiose speeches.
Reichert seems more focused on suggesting a change in strategy for Trump’s GOP opposition, advising them to be more like Trump so they an attract their own larger base of loyal support. Be more like Trump??? How about getting behind all of President Trump’s policies and intolerance of corruption and graft? How about understanding and fully support all of the concepts that make up MAGA??

The careful and loving leading of the Holy Spirit is what makes a follower of Christ different from those who do not believe. Through that leadership, God will shape and mold the life of a believer into Christ’s likeness and righteousness. Another way to describe righteousness is to do what pleases God in your thoughts and actions.
While no one will reach a completely righteous state on this earth, there is great hope in God’s promises for those who desire to please Him. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied” (Matthew 5:6).
Righteousness cannot be achieved by your natural self, as you have likely noticed in your attempts to do what is right or kind. However, because Jesus took your sin and became your righteousness, God gives you power, through the Holy Spirit, to yield yourself to Him. “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith” (1 John 5:4). Over time, through God’s transforming power, you will see your natural inclinations increasingly shift away from serving self to pleasing God = righteousness! What a great hope for your future!
Pray for America’s citizens to carefully consider those seeking leadership positions during this nation’s election season. Seek to support candidates who appear to consider Godly values in their positions on important issues.
Pray for your chosen candidates to submit themselves further to the Holy Spirit and ask God to bless their efforts as they work for the nation.

THE DETERMINATION TO SERVE

Paul’s idea of service is the same as Our Lord’s: “I am among you as He that serveth;” “ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” We have the idea that a man called to the ministry is called to be a different kind of being from other men. According to Jesus Christ, he is called to be the “doormat” of other men; their spiritual leader, but never their superior. “I know how to be abased,” says Paul. This is Paul’s idea of service – “I will spend myself to the last ebb for you; you may give me praise or give me blame, it will make no difference.” So long as there is a human being who does not know Jesus Christ, I am his debtor to serve him until he does. The mainspring of Paul’s service is not love for men, but love for Jesus Christ. If we are devoted to the cause of humanity, we shall soon be crushed and broken-hearted, for we shall often meet with more ingratitude from men than we would from a dog; but if our motive is love to God, no ingratitude can hinder us from serving our fellow men.
Paul’s realization of how Jesus Christ had dealt with him is the secret of his determination to serve others. “I was before a perjurer, a blasphemer, an injurious person” – no matter how men may treat me, they will never treat me with the spite and hatred with which I treated Jesus Christ. When we realize that Jesus Christ has served us to the end of our meanness, our selfishness, and sin, nothing that we meet with from others can exhaust our determination to serve men for His sake.

Nathan Wade appeared to make at least 35 visits to the Hapeville neighborhood where Fani Willis was living before the district attorney hired him to lead Fulton County’s election interference prosecution, according to cellphone data included in a court submission filed Friday.
The filing, by attorneys for Donald Trump, raises fresh questions about the relationship between the two prosecutors, which the former president and other defendants argue has tainted the case against them and should result in Willis and her office being disqualified.
Trump’s lawyers relied on data collected from Wade’s cellphone and cellphone tower transmissions to track his movements. It seems to contradict Wade’s testimony last week in which he said he had visited Willis at her condo in Hapeville no more than 10 times before he was hired in November 2021. It also indicates Wade twice arrived late at night at the condo and left early the next morning in the months before Willis and Wade said their relationship became romantic early in 2022.
Both Wade and Willis testified last week that they did not spend the night together at the Hapeville condo.
A spokesman from the Fulton DA’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

As a Lenten exercise, I am reading the book The Spear by Louis de Wohl. This is a fictional book imagining the life of the Roman soldier who lanced the side of Jesus on the cross. The author knows his Roman history. Reading about all the conniving in the Roman Empire and how the elite few rule with an iron fist over the non-citizen classes* reminds me eerily of some modern-day politics. The book also helps frame what is truly important. I recommend it.

It’s definitely truer to its Reggae foundation, thats for sure. I always liked Johnny Nash’s original version from ’72, but unfortunately in the original recording, the band didn’t maintain the original tempo through the break; they sped up and continued at a slightly faster tempo to the end. I have a low tolerance for bands who cannot maintain steady tempo in what is essentially a dance tune.
Cliff’s cover of it in ’93 does a much better job of holding tempo and keeping that crisp Reggae beat all the way through.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. The garden is tilled, ready for spring. According to weather forecasts, yesterday was supposed to be the last dry day before more rain fell – which turned out to be true. It had been dry for more than a week so it was a good day to do the tilling. After the second hour, I really considered quitting and doing the rest another day, but I took a break and went back to it. Four hours later, including breaks, it was done, but needed to be smoothed and raked. Did that, too. Mud and dust from hair to feet.
But today, as I look out at the tilled garden in the rain, I can’t help but be filled with such joy. Thank you, God, for gardens, for the promise of food for the year, for the blessings You give as we tend to Your creation for us. Thank you, God, for the strength and will to persist in our every endeavor, trusting that You will safely bring us through another tumultuous year. Amen.

Had to remove 18 inches of rope from the neighborhood tire swing. Sadly – the old cottonwood, estimated to be 150 years old by a noted local arborist, is getting tired and large limbs starting to droop. I keep a close eye on it for signs the big limb might fail.
Hours and hours and hours of kids playing on the swing or under the tree in the enormous amount of shade it provides. Away from TVs and life distracting devices. Jackets, bicycles and shoes laying about are always there when the kids return for them.
Lazy swaying on a swing while dragging bare feet across cool sand is an experience I wish on every youngster!

The new version of Revelation 3:10 (NKJV) has a problem with the use of the phrase “hour of trial”. It seems one hour translates to 15 days reference the calculations below based upon the 7 years of Tribulation. Then how can 15 days be enough time to accomplish anything. So it is, that I encourage the use of the original KJV until a better translation can be found.
Revelation 3:10 (KJV)
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
or
Revelation 3:10 (NKJV)
10 Because you have kept [a]My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the —>hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

The following seems to be from the work of Lee Brainard. I believe, his well focused opinion on Revelation 3:10 points out that the use of the phrase “keep you from” is not meant to convey “keep you through” the —>hour of trial. I would like to drop the use of the word “hour”, too.
With numerous Greek references, I demonstrate that “keep from,” τηρεω εκ (tereo ek) in the Greek, means “keep from,” not “keep through.” Then I demonstrate that tereo ek in John 17 is not an argument against the pre-tribulation rapture. John 17 keeps the church from spiritual harm at the hands of Satan while in a world filled with trials (the word of Christ’s patience). Revelation 3:10 keeps the church from the hour of trial because she has kept the word of Christ’s patience. In other words, the church gets the blessing of Revelation 3:10 because she was faithful in the time of John 17. The hour of trial will engulf the entire world, and therefore the only way for the church to be kept from the hour will be for her to be removed from the earth prior to the hour.
