I’m contacting you to see if Hometown Bank would be interested in researching and possibly implementing a program similar to a program used in Ithica, Ny.  

 That system, if memory serves me correct, was initially called Ithica Hours and I believe now is called either Ithica Dollars or Ithica Bucks.

As privacy concerns grow about the implementation of a federal digital dollar and it’s centralized ability to not only track and tax every individuals personal transaction, there is also a fear that such a move would essentially eliminate the need for local banks.

I’ve given this some thought and while I’m not in a position to know whether the threat of federal centralized banking control through centralized digital banking, is real or just perceived,  it does cause concern about federal control over ones transactions.  The governments ability to stop a persons financial transactions over a persons religious, moral and ethical beliefs is of grave concern.  We’ve seen this recently with financial institutions and credit card companies denying services to individuals and companies based soley on beliefs or the products they legally manufacture or sell.

My thinking on this matter is that under a system similar to the Ithica Bucks (Dollars) if a person had an account with your bank that they could tranfer money from a regular or digital account to the Banks account and essentially buy the “Hometown Dollar” from your bank at equal valued cost (regular dollar =”Hometown Dollar”).  That “Hometown Dollar” could be used to purchase local goods and services in the local community, in coalition with local business who agreed to accept it.

Local business or individuals could then exchange the “Hometown Dollars” at Hometown Bank for a slight fee, for regular dollars, if they still exist, or for a deposit in either their regular account or digital account if it eventually comes to that.

My thinking is that a system like this may appeal to local business and residents and may in turn provide a safety net for local banks such as Hometown.

If this idea is feasible, please email me.  I would be glad to help pitch the idea to local business and residents.  Thank you for your time and consideration.

‎2/‎22/‎2024 – It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

Isaiah 8:16-18 “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among My disciples. And I will wait upon the LORD, that hides His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him. Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given Me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion.”

Does God expect more from us in this last generation, than those who came before this time? For the time that the word of God has been among the Gentiles, we ought, more than any who came before us, to be most expert in the holy things of the LORD. We have had all these generations and centuries for building upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets; and insomuch as to the extent that the transgressors are coming to the full, so ought the saints of Jesus Christ also be coming to maturity, and ready for the harvest.

It is written in Daniel, that these things would be shut up and sealed, until the time of the end; which is now! That means, that when it is said, how knowledge shall be increased; if it is so for those who imagine evil against the LORD, how much more we who have His Spirit, and are appointed to be His witnesses up to the end of the world! Even while this evil generation seeks a sign; and no sign shall be given to it; yet are we made the signs and wonders to instruct men to Christ. In other words, it is the testimony of the Spirit upon the conscience of all who behold us, and hear our words, that God has ordained for saving every last one of His lost children before the end.

1 Corinthians 1:21 “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

Can someone come to saving faith in Jesus, simply in having a reverence for nature? The Scripture says, No! Being able to work up feelings of awe, for the infinite wisdom and understanding evident in creation, nevertheless has no power in itself to bring anyone to that saving knowledge of God, and a New Creation miracle wrought in his life, which would make him accepted of God. But if seeing the evidence of Christ’s words having been wrought in another person, that confirms the Spirit led preaching and teaching of the word; this God will use to discover what is in that man’s heart, by convicting him of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. Herein is the power of God that brings salvation from sin, through the preaching of the cross. The LORD has made it so, that man cannot come to know a divinely imparted New Birth, except through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, by men telling other men.

The preaching of the cross of Christ is the power of God unto salvation, to everyone who believes; and the only way to a clean conscience from sin. It is through faith in the operation of God, of the fact done of Jesus having risen from dead, that God does the miracle Himself in everyone who believes; completely independent of, and beyond the reach, of man’s putting any tool unto it. The Spirit of truth convicts the conscience, the preacher tells the sinner about Jesus dying on the cross for his sins, and the man fears and repents and confesses faith in Jesus; and God performs the miracle.

Unbelief is behind all ideas, that the Bible needs to be proven by man’s capabilities of perception. All through the history of Israel in the Old Testament, as well as all the times that Jesus did miracles and signs before them; none of it could be denied , as if it didn’t happen. And that wasn’t the reason why they refused to believe in Him. The issue is not whether there is sufficient provable evidence; or that it is purely an intellectual question: but a spiritual matter, that men decide in their moral conscience; whether they are willing to repent and believe the Gospel. Every idea that attempts to validate or affirm the Scriptures by human thinking, only appeals to man’s vanity, and is a deviation from the truth, that works against God, and against men being saved.

Nehemiah 8:8, 12 “So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading . . . And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.”

Once a person has his soul reconciled to God through faith in Jesus, the eyes of his understanding are opened, and the light that enters in, is itself the proof and the evidence, that brings joy and peace into his heart. What we have to be able to do, is to persuade men through good and honest integrity, bringing forth the sense and the meaning of the word. We can only speak what we do know, and testify what we have seen. And people will know when someone is telling them the truth, or parroting a sales-pitch. Not methodologies, and mimicking the lingo and peculiar gestures and expressions of past servants of the LORD; but genuinely knowing the Lord for oneself, and being able to effectively communicate the same to others.

1 Corinthians 14:9 “So likewise you, except you utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? For you shall speak into the air.”

People can only believe insofar as they can understand, and can attest to as true in their conscience. Jesus told Nicodemus, “We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen . . .” And that is the law of a true witness of Christ, and an effective teacher of His word, when he speaks from his own experience what he knows and has seen; and all who are of the truth will be able to recognize, if the one speaking really knows and has seen, or is merely mouthing what he has read or heard from others.

There is a very common tendency, especially among new believers; (who are already very hungry for knowledge, and in a big hurry to grow up into the Christian they envision they should be;) to latch onto favorite preachers and teachers, and whoever is said to be one to love and admire. And not being yet sufficiently sanctified and established in the Lord; unless a stronger and better understanding brother or sister can help them see that as a form of idolatry, and taken their eyes off of Jesus; it may take many years, and some very hard and painful life lessons, for that one to eventually come to a true experience with God.

Just as it will be turned to men, to give account of having seen and heard the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in His saints; so also is it the responsibility of all believers in Jesus, to seek the Lord with all their heart and soul, and make themselves ready for witnessing to others, and teaching them as God has taught them. It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe; because it lays it down to the bare word itself upon the heart of men, and how they do with it; apart from comparing ourselves to each other, or every interference of man’s vanity. So we want both our lives to be clean and transparent to inspection; and our words easy to be understood, and matching our manner of life; so Jesus’ work may continue until He returns.

He recognized the need for a machine capable of performing complex codebreaking tasks more quickly and efficiently than humans, and he provided the theoretical guidance and support necessary for the successful creation of Colossus.

Oh Lord, thank you for granting me another day to stand up against the tyranny in the world today, blessing me with the will, strength and fortitude to continue walking, digging and fighting all over this once blessed United States of America. Please continue to help me carry this rucksack and weapon by walking beside me and lending your loving hand apon this yoke I proudly wear. Please bless me with a full ammo pouch and full canteen, one for the enemy around me the other for the enemy above, so that I may prevail against one and endure the other. Please bless me with the light of the moon and stars when I need them and clouds and rain when I desire cover from my enemies eyes. Please ensure my aim is true, that my creedo “One Shot, One Kill” is fullfilled, that my enemy does not suffer and their end is swift and complete. Tenacity is more than endurance, it is endurance combined with the absolute certainty that what we are looking for is going to transpire. Tenacity is more than hanging on, which may be but the weakness of being too afraid to fall off. Tenacity is the supreme effort of a man refusing to believe that his hero is going to be conquered. The greatest fear a man has is not that he will be damned, but that Jesus Christ will be worsted, that the things He stood for – love and justice and forgiveness and kindness among men – will not win out in the end; the things He stands for look like will-o’-the-wisps. Then comes the call to spiritual tenacity, not to hang on and do nothing, but to work deliberately on the certainty that God is not going to be worsted.
 
If our hopes are being disappointed just now, it means that they are being purified. There is nothing noble the human mind has ever hoped for or dreamed of that will not be fulfilled. One of the greatest strains in life is the strain of waiting for God. “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience.”

You are sleepless; you want to judge everything, direct everything and see to everything and you surrender to human strength, or worse – to men themselves, trusting in their intervention, – this is what hinders my words and my views.

Oh how much I wish from you this surrender, to help you; and how I suffer when I see you so agitated! Satan tries to do exactly this: to agitate you and to remove you from my protection and to throw you into the jaws of human initiative. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

A little over 2,000 years ago, Jesus stepped into the pages of human history, leaving His heavenly realm and taking on flesh. He lived a sinless life yet died the death of a criminal, paying the full penalty for the crimes and sins of humanity against the laws of God. The grave could not hold Him, and He was gloriously resurrected, walked again among the people, and was ultimately lifted back to heaven. Yet Earth has not seen the last of Christ.

He promised to return, and confidence in that promise can carry you through. 

Pastor J.D. Greear outlines four ways you can display and live out your hope in Christ’s return. The first is to have spiritual alertness – living in expectation that His return could be today. You can adjust your priorities to align with the knowledge that He is coming soon, investing your talents, time, and treasure into advancing the Kingdom of God, and supporting those who are engaged in sharing the Gospel. Believing in the return of Jesus also motivates you to forgive others.

Fourth, the awareness that He is coming back provides hope when you are suffering, loss, trial, or persecution. 

H.L Turner wrote in his hymn, “It may be at morn, when the day is awakening, when sunlight through darkness and shadow is breaking, that Jesus will come in the fullness of glory, to receive from the world His own.” Then he asked, “O, Lord Jesus, how long, how long?” Be ready and submit to the Holy Spirit each day.

Let there be nothing between yourself and the Savior when He comes for you. Maranatha! “Christ returneth. Hallelujah. Amen.”

This might be an unpopular opinion and could hurt some feelings.

There are many conservative Christian women, who are influencers or leaders, that are selling themselves short and not being good role models by conforming to the world’s sexualization of women.

If you are conservative and a Christian you know you don’t have to express yourself in sexual ways and you know you are attractive by dressing nice and feminine, and you can be beautiful and modest at the same time.

Men will respect you more and think of you much more highly than just a sexual object for gratification. It’s also good to not tempt your Christian brothers and cause them to stumble.

As conservative Christian women, let us always be an example to girls and young women by displaying actions that our faith believes and not conform to the patterns of this fallen world.

Be the light, don’t fall into the darkness.
