The great pretending continues. if by replacement theory you refer to the mass illegal immigrants in schools, i actually do not think that is even sort of the problem in this specific instance.
my wife is a teacher, and from her vantage point, the immigrant kids are overwhelming BETTER at math than the american kids. the american children are straight up LOST in a morass of lousy family, parenting, and entitlement with virtually no discipline at home nor at school because the system can no longer effectively punish and reward. the entire school system has shifted to justice and equity and every student who was, at some point, good at something, is being pushed DOWN to equal the dunces.
this is a complete breakdown of the family unit and of work ethic DOMESTICALLY. and what’s worse, the immigrant kids, illegal or not, who showed up with some of those principles still intact, quickly get dumbed down to the level of the citizens.

It’s long been a dirty secret that in systems such as NYC public schools, immigrant kids do well in some of the “worst” schools that are “failing” the American black students.
You have people such as Betsy DeVos making dumb pronouncements like education has changed but classrooms still look like they did 100 years ago, or words to that effect.
No, learning is exactly the same as it was in ancient times. A roomful of students, and a teacher. A teacher who knows how to teach.
Knowing how to teach isn’t enough to get you hired today.

you have 100, maybe a thousand people in a setting desire to learn something that is life changing. They hang on every word of the teacher. It’s desire, discipline, throw in there some self respect, and character.
What we have now is a people who have no desire, no discipline. Can’t even force 5 or 10 to sit and listen.
In other words, in many cases, it is not the teacher who is the problem. It is the home family situation. This was glaringly uncovered in Zuckerberg’s attempt to “flip” schools in Newark, NJ. The $200 million spent ended up being totally wasted, primarily because the home situation for many students was so bad that kids arrived at school emotionally unable to learn.
What didn’t help is the bogus teaching theory that was imposed by the so-called experts. These “experts” in education theory invariably dumb everything down.
The biggest problem was the corruption withing the Newark school system that siphoned off at least half of the multi billions spend in education in the city each year. The civic leaders are corrupt all day long, leaving nothing for the kids.
It is interesting to hear your wife’s experience. My wife is also a teacher (Texas-ground zero) and the “immigrants” (exclusively hispanic) are by far the worse students. Most of them have parents that don’t speak english at home so there is an immediate language barrier. The interesting thing is that math is their worst subject. Add in the cultural aspects and you get obnoxious boys and subservient, neglected girls.
Of course, the endless labelling of children with this syndrome or that disability and the accommodations and special programs that exist for them do not help at all. This applies to all races.
I agree completely that the root of these problems is the breakdown of the family unit and utter failure of parenting. I am horrified at the number of adults who either can’t or refuse to “adult”. I believe that the money and time spent on special programs for these kids would be better spent on counseling and aiding the parents.

When juniors in high school are forced to exist in curriculum that studies the Jonestown massacre for a week and the assignment is to “draw a depiction of cannibalism in great detail” – students are not ignorant. They know that NO ONE is looking out for them or protecting them. They know that assignments where you color the buttons on a paper shoe that indicate the “color” you a “feeling” today is insulting to their intelligence. Regurgitating literary works already covered in fourth grade during a junior year of high school is a condition in which teachers are without energy or imagination to inspire. And don’t forget the re-writing and paraphrasing of literary works like “Romeo and Juliet” to include words like “labia” and other various eroticisms set to shock and embarrass.
It is like having a sexual predator constantly groom your kid.
And the KIDS KNOW IT and they are totally freaked out! All while they see their parents complain and the politicians’ cast lots that destroy their future and their prospects… because politicians are not having troubles “adulting”, they are having troubles being honest and not leveraging the weak for money and power. Citizens are helpless against runaway politicians unless they revolt, which could cost them their homes, livelihoods, wealth, and children if they are unsuccessful.
Kids want to learn! Damn it, they want to learn and they want someone to give a rip and protect their innocence!!!!! No parent alive had any clue how depraved our schools had become until COVID revealed everything and kids, for their lack of life history and experience, had no way to understand that what they were experiencing in indoctrination was abnormal. They trusted, and so did we, as we should have been able to!!!!
You can’t tell me that it is impossible for students to thrive coming from single parent homes or from the streets of Compton. It is utter nonsense!!!! Some of the most influential people were people who did not acquire their wisdom by parents, but by a mentor who invested in them with time and example.
I myself rose to be one of TWO women in the United States in the electric power generation industry for Caterpillar and I sang in Carnegie Hall in 1989 after paying for it with my own job at 15 years old!!! My mother died when I was 9 and I was raised by an old military Sargeant who had ZERO experience with raising a child – especially a little girl. We were poor as dirt and rented a car once a month to buy groceries after my poor father committed over 34 years of his life to fight and serve for this God-forsaken country that treated him like utter garbage as a retired veteran of foreign war. How are kids to learn respect, when we as a country don’t respect our elders?
So do not tell ME that these kids have limitations that are all the parents’ fault. What they lack is inspiration and freedom to critically think!
What are you doing to personally volunteer to help out besides armchair quarterbacking? Hold people accountable for their job descriptions!!!! If they are teachers, then by God they better teach! Are those teachers going to come help me to payroll for my company? Help me file the workers compensation audit? No???? Why the hell not?
Their limitations are directly proportional to the quality of exposure and the inspiration. Not everyone is an automaton, and we do little to truly find these students’ Divinely-inspired giftings.
School is an opportunity to expand minds and provide exposure to ideas that some children will never have the hope of achieving on their, or their family’s, own. But when you have academia hellbent on obfuscating the basic terminology of words – such as boy or girl – and place hyperfocus on politicizing sexuality… the kids know the jig is up and there is no one manning the goalie box.
What we have now is a bunch of schools including those in Indiana earning $9,000/year per capita, to do not a damn thing. They are paid more per year than most people receive in child support to feed, shelter, and clothe them. Right now – school is a WASTE and it is causing people to become wards of the state and welfare reliant. Our educational system including private schools – is garbage. I know. I paid for it!!!!
The children feel unsafe. Legitimate teachers feel unsafe. And parents can’t open emails without passwords and are constantly barred from the reality of the matter by confusing systems that do not reveal the true nature of their student’s academic condition.

It hard to critically think about any issue if you do not have ALL of the facts. That is the problem, or is it a goal, of the mis dis mal-information censors. Critical thinking is one problem, but the deficit behind critical thinking is that you have to have something in the brain about which to critically think.
Students don’t learn facts, don’t know how to learn facts. They get away without knowing facts because they have multiple choice questions from which they must somewhat recognize which one is the right answer. However, I don’t want a doctor, lawyer, dentist who doesn’t have in his brain a whole slew of facts.
If you don’t understand the whole of what was happening in the US in 1845-1860, you have little ability to critically think about what caused the Civil War. So, people tend to take what someone else says because they don’t know anything. That is a real problem because if you don’t know facts about Ukraine, you tend to take the word of the MSM which relies on you not knowing anything different or being too lazy to research.
A doctor cannot diagnose (critically think) a disease or a condition without knowing facts…what are symptoms of X and not Y. How is that like or different from Z? They apply their facts (or you could say knowledge) to what they see and learn.
A family member at age 16 was dying. He was becoming worse and worse, was hospitalized and started to get better. Went home and became worse again. Over and over becoming weaker each time. Doctors had no clue. It was an attentive dietician who mentioned to one of his doctors that he was coming out of his room and taking all the discarded salt from every returned breakfast, lunch, and supper tray that led doctors to finally diagnose Addison’s Disease. Facts.
Learning facts is hard for kids in this “look-up” world. They are told that they can always look up the information. But that means they have nothing to connect to anything else. Unless you “know” the fact of the Pythagorean theorem, know how to use it, know measurements, can multiply and divide and know when to do either, you will always have difficulty with figuring basic construction details for a 4:12 pitch roof.
My hair dresser recently quit taking cash for payment. Even with the computer telling the person the amount of change for payment, the people who work for her can’t figure it out. Not only sad but ridiculous.
I would be willing to bet they like cash tips though.
Here’s my latest story of people who have no clue about handling money —
December 24 I went to buy a gift. The place told me it would be $260. They also said they had a special going on where, if you bought anything over $200 you got $40 back. I told them I’d take it and pay cash. $260 -$40 = $220. Nice discount.
But before I gave her a penny the lady helping me reached into their cash drawer and handed me $40 cash.
Um, ok, we’ll see where this goes.
I then hand her two $100 bills I went there with and one of the $20s she’d just given me — $220 total payment — or really $200 out of my pocket — and finally $180, since I still had the second $20 she handed me.
The lady didn’t offer any type of gift card for the purchase (gym membership), so I asked for one. She didn’t offer any type of receipt after I’d paid cash, so I asked for one of those, too. Fishy business there. . .
Ended up the membership was nothing like what the person wanted, so I gave them a copy of the receipt and told them they could get the money — which they were happy to do, since they could speak to the issues they had with the place.
Crazy thing about the receipt — it had the actual cost of the membership — $260, and that is what they gave as a refund.
So. . . I paid $180 and they refunded $260.
Today I am going to go sit down with the owner and walk through this crazy Monopoly money situation, then return all the money they mistakenly handed out.
Worst thing about doing that is I learned through the course of events that this place is as loony liberal as they come, and because of that my sinful flesh wants to keep the money. But I won’t, ’cause, you know, I actually have principles, even if I have to fight myself sometimes to keep them in check.

A while back I bought something at TSC when they had just started asking for phone numbers. I refused to give my phone number, paid for it, got my receipt, and left. I then had to take the item back, and the idiotic manager argued every which way that I had to give her a phone number to return it . . . although I had my receipt.
So let me get this straight: I can buy it without giving you my phone number, but I can’t return it without giving you my phone number? I finally told her to put in the store’s phone number and give me my DAMN refund!
Needless to say, that fool of a manager didn’t work there for long! Yeah, people have NO common sense–or maybe any sense AT ALL!

Watching the news this morning someone asked if President Trump would have to sell Trump Tower or his other real estate holdings. The answer is No he doesn’t have to sell them outright. He can do something called a sale lease back. In that scenario he sells the property for short term, per contract, and leases it back until such time he can buy the properties back. This frees up a lot of cash while still having control of the property. Our company had to do this during Obama’s 2008-2009 real estate debacle. We sold 20 stores and leased them back to continue our business operations. We bought all 20 back 7 years later per contract.
After reading that Cardone Capital has decided against investing large sums in the NY real estate markets after the egregious fine placed on President Trump’s organization. Perhaps that is precisely what TPTB want, they don’t want outside companies building up a real estate portfolio, they would rather have an approved developer like BlackRock. JMO
Who knows what they want. That’s an interesting business arrangement. I would guess that PTrump’s lawyers and business managers are looking at this and many other solutions to help him out without losing his businesses. They have to find willing partners though and ones who won’t try to undermine him down the road.
If by chance Trump loses on appeal, the state of NY gets the $millions. Since they are greedy, Trump will not be the last. Moving will not save you, it might trigger an investigation as a last method to get the last drop of juice from a squished orange.

For any other type of fund-raising we really need legal advice first. Here’s why:
(1) J6’er donations thru crowdfundng have been confiscated by the government. Can’t recall the exact reasoning, but something to do with preventing J6ers from benefitting from their “crimes.”

(2) The FEC may regard any crowdfunding as breaking election finance laws if they decide it is a campaign donation. Additionally donation limit laws may apply.
(3) GoFundMe froze donations to Canadian Truckers.
(4) The one GoFundMe for President Trump that I know has the money going to an individual, to her personally. No escrow acct, no explanation of how it would legally be collected and legally transferred to President Trump during a campaign.

Interesting,…when I donated to the Freedom Convoy Canadian Truckers GoFundMe acct., within 10 minutes of donating, I got an automated phone call from VISA, checking to make sure the expenditure was authorised.
I just donated to Cara Castronuevos campaign, thru WINRED, and promptly got an automated call from VISA.
Back with the Truckers, I thought maybe its becayse it was an “International” transaction, but todays donation is to Virgina (Winred) and I have donated to WINRED for PDJT, and for Kari Lake, and never had this happen.
And the VISA automated message made it clear it was ‘unfreesing’ my card, after I confirmed the transaction was legit.

That was a good idea; I did check and autoplay was and is off; and it’s only when visiting the Treehouse site. I will keep at it and figure it out; very glad it’s not happening to anyone else so definitely in my settings.
I will simply have to turn off the volume when stopping in until I can get to the bottom of it.

Be sure to check your settings over there as well, if you haven’t already (maybe those were the settings you referenced in your previous reply to me). If that doesn’t work, or if you’ve already done that, try accessing the Settings Cog on the YouTube videos from here (The CTH) and see if it doesn’t give you an ‘autoplay’ option via the links themselves.

Have done those, checked the settings there (no autoplay) and on the ones that are in continuous play on this site, no settings cog on these here have the autoplay option so are in a continuous running loop. One video posted isn’t even a you tube one, and that too is constantly running so will simply turn the speakers off when visiting the Treehouse until I can figure it out.
The good news is, it’s just my computer and not anyone else’s so that’s a relief that CTH isn’t under some strange attack.

Bessie, it was doing it to my pc too. I’ve noticed it since last week but I ignored it because my speakers’ volume was so low I could barely hear it then it would stop doing so right away. But today I heard someone talking very clearly, turned up the volume and yep, it wasn’t me going crazy .

Yep, been playing with the autoplay button, found a supposed fix that Chrome (my browser) has that is supposed to stop all automatic playback and that didn’t work, and, did notice when going to the you tube sight some of the videos there automatically take over as if I’d clicked on them to view, and didn’t so not quite sure what the glitch is;
in the meantime will simply have to make sure the speakers are all the way down to zero since it is annoying as heck.
One channel started playing as soon as I clicked on the page, I couldn’t figure out which one, so I just turned the sound off. Beats me.
Same thing happened to me today and the only solution that worked is shutting off the sound on my laptop. Haven’t been able to fix the constant reloading which makes it hard to read or post. Both things happen on this site only. If TPTB think these roadblocks will deter us from being here, they are sadly mistaken. It only hardens our resolve.

I clicked on the music icon, a small screen showing the video appeared in the upper right hand corner of the desktop, I clicked the pause icon on that video, and that shut down all the videos that are automatically playing –
I then went to different pages here on this thread – and have to do that at the top of each page, so at least that’s a fix for now; which means I can still listen to the youtube videos I like to listen to while scrolling through the Treehouse threads.

State Department Inspector General investigating suspension of Biden’s Iran envoy: Report
The State Department‘s Inspector General is reportedly investigating the circumstances of the suspension of President Joe Biden‘s special envoy for Iran last year.
The State Department’s inspector general told lawmakers it has opened an investigation into the department’s decision to place Robert Malley on leave in June 2023, according to a report from Semafor.
In a letter sent last month, Ryan Holden, the Inspector General’s director of congressional and public affairs, told members of Congress it is examining the matter, including the suspension of Malley’s security clearance in April 2023.
“The scope of the special review of the suspension of Robert Malley’s clearance will include the procedures the Department used in suspending the clearance as well as actions taken by the Department following the suspension,” the letter said, per the outlet. “This will include whether the Department followed proper procedures in suspending his clearance, determining what access to information he could maintain, and deciding the status of his employment.”
The outlet reports that the inspector general’s office will make its findings public in a report, and that State Department emails and documents will be examined as part of the investigation.

The senators made the existence of the records public after the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) responded to their oversight queries. NARA reportedly confirming that, at DOJ’s urging, it retrieved the 9 boxes out of concern for the sensitivity of their contents.
NARA further acknowledged to the senators that the FBI had reviewed the contents of the boxes. But it is unclear if NARA or the FBI shared their findings with Hur.

If you have to travel for business purposes, New York state is one place to avoid. Even if you go to a business location there for a one or two day trip, they might expect you to file income tax there.
