One of the things that frustrates me is how these predictions are handled by secular scholars.
Prophecy can’t exist, so all these predictions had to be created after the event already occurred.
This is one of the largest reasons for dating these gospels after the fall of Jerusalem and the tearing down of the Temple stone from stone. There are other reasons, but this is what they typically resort to first.
First, that is exactly what Rome did to Carthage. Except in Carthage, Rome went even further. I bet this was an oft used example of what could happen to rebellious peoples. It is not that hard to predict when Rome has already done it.
Also, in other places in the Bible, it is linked to His death and His resurrection. But it has been 2000 years and the temple hasn’t been restored, yet.
Isolated, the destruction of the Temple is a fulfilled prophecy. Combined, 3 out of 4 isn’t exactly a perfect record. (Jesus died and was resurrected on the 3rd day.)
And, these predictions can often be applied to many different things and times. Like above it is all considered end-time predictions, not near term.
That last moves me to more modern prophets. Look at the vagaries written by Nostradamus. It is an extreme example, but when something is written so that it can be applied long afterwards in many different ways, then it is not really such a set in stone prophecy. We can’t argue that these things weren’t written during Nostradamus lifetime. But in 2000 years, it will be easy to claim that they were only written after whatever they claim was predicted had happened.
And as an aside, The Big Bang is exactly a scientific postulation that all of the Universe was created in one moment long ago. Much has happened in between that moment and now. But I am not going to put constraints on how God went about creating us. Nor am I going to put my faith in science. Science will surely change. The fact God created us won’t change.

If you want to understand Chicago, you need to understand that THE CURRENCY is real estate. If you want to follow the money, follow the real estate deals.
The biggest boondoggle of all time that affected the value of about 75% of the real estate in Chicago was the proposed Cross Town Expressway. Granted the entire city exists because of transportation. No piece of freight can move from the West Coast to the East coast by rail except through tracks around Chicago. (Privately held). Trucking speaks for itself in the stranglehold south of the lake. That CTE battle raged for decades – billions were at stake.
This is Act II. Now the Gang is in DC. Remember O’s first goal was to be mayor of Chicago (it’s more lucrative). Now the DOT has given up on ‘efficiency’ and ‘safety’ since those can be objectively measured. Now there is a totally subjective, make believe reason to tear down expressways and build new ones. Which of course, changes the value of all real estate in certain major metropolitan areas, and the value of all freight holdings, warehouses, logistics centers, etc. within 500 miles. An expressway is forever … sort of.
After the crime and inflation and occasional ‘accidents’ reshape the value of urban real estate, and drive down values in key areas, the developers buy it all on the cheap, then the new DOT plans for the new expressways come in (and even tearing down old ones) and voila — the money is made for the next 100+ years. After the real estate switches hands, then there will be an interest in cleaning up crime and raising values again. Who was it who commented about the horrible California fires occurring along the lines of the delayed High Speed Rail network ?
Read the Kelo decision and weep. check to see if your state was one of the many who instantly passed state legislation prohibiting Kelo-like eminent domain for private purposes, and plan accordingly.

I think you will agree that, as we get older and hopefully wiser, we look for certain things in a performance – not the least – expressiveness. I think of the composers of these pieces – especially Granados – and know that they came from turbulent times, just like we experience, yet their musical response is simply eloquent and sublimely peaceful.

Trepat is a Spaniard’s Spaniard—in every way. What I’ve always liked about him is 1. His preference for historic Antonio Torres guitars and 2. his performance style is intentionally understated—he likes to just walk out on stage and . . . just play. I really like that. Re: Little ‘Tink. The fact is we kinda watch over each other. She’s back to sleeping on my shoulder and sitting in my lap or at my feet when I drink my morning coffee. We both just enjoy being in each other’s presence. I’ve always related to my animal family members in this way. Way back when I was just still almost a baby, my dad’s prized bird-dog, Prince, would curl up with me in his dog-house to keep my warm. Drove my mom nuts when I went to sleep in his dog-house (he also let me sample his dog food).

Daughter, a junior in high school, was in her Earth & Space Science course and a young “lady” – a new transplant from Maine – starts shaking down my daughter to buy her a birthday present. Better yet, give her cash!
Kiddo acts a little weird with me on Wednesday and I noticed she was shielding her phone from me, trying to hide something. We have a hard policy in my home – really set my her(!) – that we don’t keep secrets from each other – ever.
I put my hand up and said “Let me have it.”
A quick scan and sure enough – this little witch was shaking my daughter down for money at school. Well, she probably wasn’t expecting ME TO CALL HER and me to out her little game. She starts gaslighting me, telling me daughter is her “friend” and she told daughter that she “didn’t have to get her anything” but she “wanted to” – which was a total bold faced lie.
Apparently, this chick is even trying to shake down teachers to gimme, gimme, gimme.
A male teacher who they share… who daughter thinks is a conservative… but is obviously too big a coward to squash this little DEI artifact and her lack-of-meritocracy game… was also shaken down for a birthday gift and he responds to her “I’ll think about it.” while shaking his head “no” at my daughter.
Are you f’ing kidding me? What’s WRONG with this grown man put in charge of teenagers? He’s a biology teacher, too. Maybe he doesn’t know the difference between a “he” and a “she” and he doesn’t realize he has hairy cajones that could actually TEND to such a matter… if we were so inclined… and he felt it was within his job description!
So, Mama Bear gets irritated – like I so often do with these automatons led by liberal, wing-nut, dipwads – and report the little entitled witch.
The male teacher writes back:
“Thank you (name omitted because the FBI probably already has a file on me anyway being the terrorist soccer mom that I am). My apologies to the fine teachers here on this thread who are doing their best to infuse some sense into these children, but sadly, we are not surrounded by those at kiddo’s school. There are WAY too many COWARDS there who refuse to speak up and start squashing this nonsense.
A suggestion from a former teacher and former pvt. school principal (50 years cumulative experience. Now very happily retired.) This kind of bullying behavior (accompanied by outright lying) is characteristic of pathology. This kid is way ahead of her teacher.
Can’t speak for you, would never even attempt to do so . . . But you have a bully who has targeted your daughter and other students. Teachers, especially now, often don’t feel empowered enough to take on bullies.
If it were me, I’d schedule a face-to-face appointment with the principal and explain what you know is happening. (The fact that Savannah is autistic means this kid has violated serious federal laws.
Further, the bully probably deliberately “clocked” Savannah as a potential victim because she’s “different”. Been there, done that personally). I’d also give a call to the board president. Request privacy and explain your concerns for your daughter. . . you just want to give a heads up about what is happening.
You are an aroused parent. You have a lot of moral authority. Lots more than teachers or even school administrators. When I was a principal, when a kid pulled something like this she would be in my office with her parent or parents for a very serious discussion. Bullies love to operate in shadows. Being outed and in the open shuts them down.

Yep. The witch targeted Savannah and got her cell phone number working on a project with her for class. During the project, Savannah did all the work and research for it and this girl… colored the pictures.

Sadly, G… the “violated serious federal laws” is completely out the window. The school no longer is policed – they ARE the police. They ARE the authority. If you file a complaint to the Attorney General’s office, they will forward it to the IDOE (Indiana Dept of Education). If you complain to the local police department, they refer it to the school’s police department. The SCHOOL’S police department.
It’s been almost 35 years since I’ve been in high school and we had resource officers, security guards, but never… was it ever referred to as the school’s police department and never did the local authorities kowtow to a school’s “police department”.
The education system tolerates the DEI subjects’ behaviors because it yields to their “needs” and their sense of entitlement to fulfill any deficiencies. The pacifist teachers don’t have boundaries anymore because everything is permissible. Everything is acceptable. Everything is normalized. Even evil and bad behavior. Criminals have more rights than victims now and what did the victim do to “deserve” it? And pity the criminal because they had a bad home life and therefore are entitled to act out.
Brother G, there is no safety even in the finest of our private schools. It is changed and there is no accountability anymore and the teachers are so scared that they don’t know how to act.
They know me. They hate me. They’re failing Savannah every chance they get. She was on their Social Studies Academic Team until the pesky religious t-shirt incident where she was wearing MercyMe and Chris Tomlin t-shirts and she got singled out and dropped the team due to religious persecution.
We have one more year and Savannah is brave and playing the game. She hasn’t had a real education since seventh grade and she knows it. They are recycling content that she learned in fourth grade. A junior in high school doing fourth grade work.
They are literally and intentionally dumbing down our kids despite being paid more per year per capita than most people receive in child support. In Indiana which has 50% of its state budget going to schools, the per child allocation for funding public education runs approximately $9,566 per year per student or $797 per month.
The average amount a single custodial parent receives for child support in our country? $287 per month.

I want you to know though, that your words matter to me so much. People are fleeing the sector – and in that – we continue to give up ground which seems to be my theme in writing this evening.
Time to talk to a lawyer who knows ADA law. The penalties for violating ADA discrimination laws are fierce. Schools routinely ignore them, trusting that parents will be uninformed. An ADA attorney will probably see this case as one where he sees the return from the school district as payment. IMHO this bullying student has exposed the school and school district to serious vulnerability.
Talk to a lawyer and/or talk to the state ADA specialists.. You can’t do this to an autistic kid and get away with it. The school is required by law to have protective policies in place. . . if they don’t they’re screwed. The ADA lawyer will find this our real quick. I’m disgusted that the school would allow this to happen to your daughter. All she want’s to do is go to school, dammit. The sooner she’s out of that place the better. 🙂

She was sitting next to her in class. Took up a class project with my daughter in which she did nothing to contribute but color the pictures. She asked for Savannah’s phone number so she could see the results of the project.
I’ve since discussed with Savannah that she doesn’t need to give her phone number to anyone.

I might consider sending a letter to the school documenting the sequence of events, and noting that the child seems somewhat desperate for funds, causing concern that perhaps there is a problem at home that the other child needs to beg at school for money for food/clothes/ necessities? They may be required to investigate that matter.
JWoo, I have experienced situations where total insanity has been allowed to occur regarding student behavior due to the fact that a parent is litigious. Rules are tossed out the window. Our district ALWAYS settles and never goes to court. Apparently, it is too costly.
Many of us feel that our unions are useless and politically compromised. Honestly, even here in California, most of us do not have rainbow hair, eyebrow piercings, or promote pornographic novels.

I KNOW you are one of the good ones. I know, too, that there are many good ones in the school system who are afraid. They have families of their own to feed. Student loans to pay for their credentials. A lifetime built on dreams of teaching and inspiring that is threatened by those who are in control.
There are many who stay right where they are… like me… because I know… as do they… that to leave is giving up ground. We pray hard for and uplift them every chance we can get. When The Bible speaks of “praying without ceasing”…. it isn’t kidding!

So, when we stand up and say “no more”… “stop this”… and we take away the ruling over our minds and we enforce the fact that the only power people wield is that which we freely give to them over us… we break chains and are set free.
Am I worried that my daughter is going to fail high school? Nope. Not anymore.
Am I worried that this girl is going to try to physically assault my daughter? Nope. Not anymore.
Because what they intend to harm my daughter with, God Will Work for her good! Romans 8:28 (Grabbing onto that Promise and holding on tight!)
You know what I do see, teachers awakening and becoming emboldened. Her US History teacher went full wolverine on the kids and very openly discussed the stealing of the election and the lawfare against Trump. I worried for him that if he wasn’t careful, he’d get railroaded. He even took a poll on who thought the election was stolen and who thought we were under a coup.
Yes, I realize he is separating the herd here and it can be used for nefarious purposes. To that, I now say SO WHAT? If you don’t know where people stand in regard to their principles, then I contend that you don’t care about the person at all! Power on, brother U.S. History teacher!!!
Guess what happened? The kids awakened! They became free, got animated about learning, and had a release to free discourse. They broke free.
What did the liberal asshats in the class do? They shut their everloving pie holes. They know. They know that they are not living in better circumstances under this regime. For those that can still think, then let them be inspired…. to break free.

Hillsdale and PragerU may have on-line courses (the Common Core curriculum was bad and is being lowered due to ‘equity’ – the current crop of ‘teachers’ are mainly Marxist activists (my son’s classmate’s mom went back for a Bachelor’s degree, last topic covered in 1st semester college algebra, only required semester, was the quadratic equation). If she is able, MIT has Open Learning for free, also.
We are trying to locate a conservative college in a smaller setting with a good church.

We found a terrific online school, The Potters School, but she tried a summer class and it was too much for her to independently work on and I must work during the day, so I couldn’t supervise.
We have one more year and we’ve determined it’s her mission field.
I believe she will go on to college someday when things settle down and she has a few more years to mature and harness her mind.
What are your thoughts on Regent University in Virginia (Michele Bachmann, Jay Sekulow) or Taylor University in Indiana? Christian and conservative.

Reading through your post, I am glad that you have that text from the bully to your daughter. She rather boldly asks for money. IMHO that is actionable and possibly, given ADA law and the fact that your daughter is covered, probably even illegal.
If it were up to me, I’d run it up the
chain-of-commend (teacher, principal, and—quietly— the school board president. What the text reveals is a very manipulative person who is intentionally and improperly trying to influence your daughter. Looking at this through a principal’s eyes, at my school this would have gotten her expelled.
The VP wrote to me today and said the girl was mad and Savannah “didn’t have to go and tell her mom”. Classic reaction of someone who is caught.
There’s some back and forth right now with the VP.
Facts are – no one takes accountability for anything and no one – absolutely no one – is performance driven.

Get the electronic version of your state’s IDEA Parental Rights, probably 30 pages or so. Commit it to memory. You are now the smartest person in the room. I’ve seen County Compliance Officers, usually lawyers themselves, quake in front of a well informed parent. The point being, cutting corners is a cost saving feature, not a bug, they are scared of everybody that knows this.
Virginia Beach has become a very dangerous place. I’d be cautious. On the otherhand, my wife and I could promise Savannah a home cooked meal as needed for support.

When communicating with these yahoos, I throw a lot of terminology from the Individual with Disabilities Education Act and then I add some of the reverse DEI just to annoy them. What you have to allow for one, you must allow for all – so the more complicated you want to get – the more I’ll weaponize it against you.

Thank you for this, Dave. I was hoping there was a credentialed Special Ed teacher in our Treeper community. My experience with being a principal ended in the mid-80’s. . Special Ed wasn’t all that visible here in Texas back then. I’m more familiar with ADA law at the college and university level, so your contemporary “real” Special Ed experiences are invaluable.
Schools are notorious for ignoring the legitimate complaints of parents. They long ago learned that ignored complaints will most likely be forgotten. This is the expertise of informed advocates comes in.

My husband and two children graduated from Taylor U. Great school. Funny we were all raised in Wheaton, IL (Wheaton College) It’s a good school too…they are all having problems, as everything else in this country, but are trusting the Lord.

JWoo I am absolutely flabbergasted what is happening to your daughter. I do not know if this would work or not but you might want to look into microschools or home schooling ‘pods’. In Wisconsin there is a big homeschooling alliance and a strong legal foundation for homeschooling due to the famous Yoder decision with Amish schools. I looked into it and found some homeschooling ‘pods’ where a few families get together to teach. This makes it possible for working parents to continue to work and get a real school for their kids. We are going our fourth year of this nonsense. If this flabbergasted you… your jaw would drop at what we have experienced. The violence and mental depravity was something I was not prepared for and the flippancy at which it perpetuates creates these monsters we hear of in the news.
My daughter attended an affluent, rigorous, Christian college preparatory for 9 years (A-B student) and another special education school for 1 year until I found that to be a total, liberal sham. I was devastated.
We have quite a few connections and know a lot about our local homeschooling co-ops. There are some amazing families in those and their kids are thriving. We just didn’t have the infrastructure to pull it off. I absolutely have to work and I’m integral to my employer, so I have to be 100% present.
I still ask – why should we have to give up on our public schools that we all pay for? Consumers have the right to demand excellence from the institutions our forced taxation pays for.
I am not personally familiar with Regent, but have heard good things. My cousin attended Taylor a few decades ago and loved it (we are three weeks apart in age, so this was shortly after dirt was invented!). My nephew is at Carson-Newman in TN now, and loves it. Another cousin went to Wheaton on a full-ride cello scholarship.
With the FASFA screwed up this year, a lot of kids are being forced to rethink where they can go, and several of my son’s friends are very angry about not having much choice with finances unclear, especially if older siblings are already in college. My best friend’s son was accepted to Purdue, has to commit to what they can afford (state, earlier deadline if he wants full-ride scholarship) or risk not being able to attend at all.
I pray for these kids.
My older son is looking into joining Navigators, if that might interest her (and you, for that matter!).

I teach in a school that has won many awards, there is a waiting list for students to attend, educators from out of state routinely come to observe us… and yet– we don’t feel safe.

Hell, no. I don’t want the district’s money in lawsuits, I want them to change. I want to irritate the crap out of them to call them out every single time.
What are they going to do?

They will never have ownership or control over our minds. Never. Our Souls belong to God not to them. Every one of those students has a Soul and now… they are our mission… not academia. As long as solid curriculum fails to be taught, we will learn from the lessons that do exist there… good and bad.
Lorrie, you make a HUGE DIFFERENCE to your students lives. You keep up that prayer circle in the mornings. Savannah continues to pray silently, kiss her hands, and place it on the door jambs when she goes in the building claiming it for Christ.
I will keep writing irritating letters and circulating them to administration (copying in all their cohorts to embarrass as many as possible using “group accountability”), journalists, news media, politicians and I will continue to roll my eyes at the absurd and nullify it and redirect, and recalibrate, to common sense, critical thinking, and Spirit building.
We simply have nothing left to lose anymore. For us, it’s a simple choice. Walk through the fire for liberty or die trying knowing God Is our future.

The VP tried to throw Savannah’s last issue in my face. Didn’t even address my academic concerns… as per usual… nor did he answer a single one of my questions.
My response:
“I am well aware of what happened last time, Bill. I will not be held hostage to that. I also know what kind of an environment is needed to breed such behavior in which children are fearful and enact survivalist tactics.
It’s my hope that safety for all the students is priority, with a close second being academics… of which my daughter is failing five classes. What are her obstacles to learning in your environment?”
I suggest you familiarize yourself with the ADA procedures for requesting “reasonable accommodations” (extra time, tutors, changes in test administration (I had a student who had trouble with simple multiple-choice questions—until I read them to her). When I did that her grades went up dramatically. Just having the test questions read out to her made all the difference in the world. That’s what a reasonable accommodation can do.
If I may suggest, you could use the assistance of an advocate; someone who knows ADA and can speak for you and your daughter. Take care, love. Keep us in your loop.
Please keep in mind that I am not trying to tell you want to do. These are just suggestions and nothing more.
Large Apartment Complex South of Marble Falls, Texas
Are there any Treepers who live in, near, or around Marble Falls, Texas who would know anything about the large apartment complex being built about 6 to 7 miles South of Marble Falls, Texas on the East side of US 281?
What about the housing development about a quarter to three quarters (3/4) further south of the apartment complex?
The reason I ask is because Marble Falls is more of a weekend, vacation, retirement area, and not exactly an industrial hub. Also, it is too far from either San Antonio or Austin to be reasonable for commuting to and from.
I was wondering the same last week but you should see all the apartment complexes going up in Fredericksburg. Not good. Our oldest son thinks that in 5 years Fredericksburg will have all ferals high school football and basketball teams.
Chicago’s old malls are being converted to some form of apartment complexes. Housing for illegals?
Hmmm… shopping malls could be converted into some easy 15 minute cities. Your car parked half mile to a mile away from your apartment. Just put in a little grocery inside the mall. Fix up a remote office space. No one ever has to leave. Pipe in oxygen and it will be just like living inside a casino.

Recall a warehouse fire in SF some years ago. The warehouse was illegally converted into an artist cooperative with living spaces. It was called the Ghost Ship Warehouse fire, one of those what could go wrong things.

Had to laugh last night, Betsy, dear friend. Harold, AKA Harry Houdini, the Maine Coon has a bedtime ritual where he comes to tell me it’s time to go to bed.
I laid down. Didn’t sleep a wink, not succumbing until around 4 AM.
Harry proceeds to make a path crossing back and forth across my chest, behind my phone where I was reading and dialoging on the Tree, and then he FLOPS down ON MY CHEST and thuds there heavily purring and his face two inches from my own as I tried to gather what he was getting at. He was telling me to “put the electronics down”.
Now, Maine Coons being basically the Great Dane of cats – are not exactly light as a feather. Thankfully, he’s the gentlest giant I know and is the most affectionate cat I have ever had.
Cats are infinitely wiser than us.
Let go of the chaos and embrace the beanz! Viva la beanz!
I looked at the times of all the posts which followed your opener, dear sis. Suffice it to say I gathered you were not on you sleepless night own. I was there, debating whether to get up or not to get a head start on Caturday.
I am convinced…CONVINCED!!!…animals have been given a sixth, seventh, eighth (???) sense we can’t possibly begin to fathom. I’ve seen two many videos of different species interacting with one another in an almost human sense to think otherwise.
Your Harry knew, and I don’t think he was telling you to call it a night…I’m sure you understand what I mean..just like Garrison’s little Tink. Our furry family innately get us. And know what we need.

While we have many patriarchs on this board who are good, solid, upstanding gentlemen… society at large… and those of my generational age (50) are emasculated and disengaged. Some are merely circling their own wagons and keeping their own… and I get that… but when we give up on public education, we are surrendering to the demons and their authority.
I’ve done all I could to circle my one wagon (laughing) and now the only response is to stand! Stand ground! Fire back.
I use the power of public humiliation on these ejits by copying God and everyone in on the emails – thus none can claim plausible deniability. It works.
It irritates me and I do share here and I am sorry to interrupt our kitty and tea party therapy sessions – but I think it’s important to hear what’s going on… on the ground… in the war zone.
We have CHOSEN to stay in this war zone. We have one more year. We have chosen that they are fully responsible for the detriment that they are causing to my daughter’s educational experience, however… they will never have control or rule over her mind and her decisions and her identity. She will openly stand and speak out (loud) incidents of injustice and often times…. the bullies just need a good newspaper to the nose.
We will give it, knowing that we can (and likely will) be retaliated against. Okay.
The sacrifice is worth the ones we can reach and profess our faith in God to. The ones we can remind them of their own self worth and their own ability to stand. Every once in a long while, we get the blessing of watching these kids stand together.
It is through our collective prayers and our own actions in our communities, we will see them stand together more often. Gotta start somewhere.

I REALLY miss listening to Rush.I remember talking with a couple of guys (total liberals) on a job I was doing at Travis Air Force base in Vacaville in ’91.One mentioned some something about this guy,as they rolled their eyes and laughed.I said “whose that?”.”Rush Limbaugh they said…YOU WOULD PROBABLY LOVE HIM!” Well,for once in their pathetic lives,they were right.Listened to him the next day,and thought to myself…someone is saying just what I think!Never stopped listening to him (with the exception of the 1/2 year I was at Gitmo),and miss him even more today.
Was driving “up the hill” to Tahoe (somewhere around Dutch Flats,when I heard on the radio that he had passed.The Outlaws were playing “Green Grass and High Tides”.I just kind of quietly wept to myself.
I grew up “honing my chops”,so to speak,on William F. Buckley,Ronald Reagan,Pat Buchanan and of course,Rush.All I have left is Sundance…and a few others,to a much lesser degree.Rest in peace Rush.

When I spent some time in FL, his radio show got me thru the weekdays…I was not paying for cable TV for short periods of time. A vague radio station in between the middle of no where and somewhere else…

He was accurately truthful – even funny at times.

Rush started his show in Sacramento (my old home) … and when he mocked the citizens of Rio Vista – out in the San Joaquin Delta … I knew EXACTLY what he was talking about. I was an early adopter of Rush, and loved that I could find a conservative voice in the HARD LEFTIST SF Bay Area.
But TBH … I dropped him for a while when he became REALLY BIG and frankly got a little too self-aggrandizing for my liking. Always talking about himself. I get it … there’s a school of thought that says in media you have to promote the hell out of yourself – because nobody else will. Well … in his later years that self-promotion calmed down a lot … and I started listening again. He was always insightful, irreverent, and never lost his sense of humor.
I was unable to listen to his daily 3 hour broadcast in my work environment;
However, kept up with the gist of his program, esp. thru hubs …
He’d give me “the bottom line.”

His Death makes me wonder if Cancer is somehow being used as a weapon to get rid of certain people, just like Andrew Breitbart who was slow poisoned to death.

I am one degree removed from him and few other hollyweird types. My dear lifelong friend is a former Fire Captain, Engineer, and Paramedic in Bel Air (35 year career in hell-A) and his 15 year girlfriend was on a television show for 4 years and sells jewelry to the stars. Both are very intelligent and conservative people, well-educated, and know the abstract culture they survive in.
Denzel Washington is a frequent buyer for his wife and has always conducted himself in a very gentlemanly and Godly manner. He openly professes Christianity.
Both my friends have elder parents that prevent them from leaving, though my guy friend has recently taken to the position that California has been his home for over 60 years and he’s not ready to give up his ground. That may change. It terrifies me the things they experience.

@Slowcobra, I took Trouble off the street when she was a puppy and have loved her everyday since, she is just over 10 yo now. I have always had a dog in my life, except for my time with Uncle Sam, my mother bred and trained working dogs for Schutzhund. Despite all the wonderful qualities that can be found in pure breeds I find Mutts make better dogs overall, the best I have ever had was a German Shepherd and Rottweiler mix with the size and build of a Rottweiler but the coat and temperament of a Shepherd, a beautiful brown and gold animal.
Trouble is a lucky dog……looks like a good one, too.

If we were never depressed we should not be alive; it is the nature of a crystal never to be depressed. A human being is capable of depression, otherwise there would be no capacity for exaltation. There are things that are calculated to depress, things that are of the nature of death; and in taking an estimate of yourself, always take into account the capacity for depression.
When the Spirit of God comes He does not give us visions, He tells us to do the most ordinary things conceivable. Depression is apt to turn us away from the ordinary commonplace things of God’s creation, but whenever God comes, the inspiration is to do the most natural simple things – the things we would never have imagined God was in, and as we do them we find He is there. The inspiration which comes to us in this way is an initiative against depression; we have to do the next thing and do it in the inspiration of God. If we do a thing in order to overcome depression, we deepen the depression; but if the Spirit of God makes us feel intuitively that we must do the thing, and we do it, the depression is gone. Immediately we arise and obey, we enter on a higher plane of life.

Good morning all!
Daytona 500 weekend down here. The place is mobbed. Not going to get the race in according to the forecast though.
Saw the Thunderbirds practicing for their flyby yesterday, though they’re not likely to get a chance to do it this weekend.
We left home at 06:45 Thursday morning. It snowed later that day and into Friday. Yard and fields are covered with a beautiful white blanket.
An early harbinger of spring. My buddies and I did that back around 1980 (when I was stationed an hour south of there). My clearest memory is from the worst of the mob — the restrooms. I’m sure they’ve improved on that aspect by now.
Behind where I’m sitting is a cumquat tree. Really good when ripe if you can get them before the squirrels do.
Thunderbirds are practicing again. Nobody around here is going to be sleeping in.
The girls place is in the landing pattern of the airport right beside the track.

For those that follow Simon Khorolskiy…his newest is out this morning featuring his precious little daughter Marianna! 🤗
Little tiny dancer. Mom’s best boy.
He would always make certain my mother would go to sleep at 9:30 PM every night and escort her to the stairwell.
Love of her life, Ben used to gaze forever into Mom’s eyes, I have never seen a cat do that…ever.
His devoted Mom needed to help him to his rest, as kidney disease and his beautiful baby back legs for some reason were no longer working last Wednesday. Valentine’s Day. God received a beautiful furry gift that day.
May God bless this little angel who has been my mother’s closest companion before and since my father passed in 2022.

We lost my beloved Dad six years ago this coming April.
We had a beautiful Maine Coon that we lost a month later. She was an important distraction from the cares of the world.
After a couple of weeks, we couldn’t take the quiet of the house without a cat. We were blessed to find another beautiful Main Coone (neither was full blooded) and it really helped.
Critters are family, too.
It’s amazing how a cat can be such a welcome distraction from the worries of the world.
If that sounds like a hint to consider getting another cat…….it is.

I so appreciate your condolences. These little souls help humans, rather powerfully.
For the last year, my mother’s cat has performed the most extraordinary assistance to my mother after her husband passed away.
Something I cannot quite explain. My father died…late June 2022. The cat oddly became an assistant to my mother.
Benjamin had become my mother’s steward.
Breakfast, dinner and bedtime for her and him. And constant guarding her. His breed is a Nebulung. Very loyal breed.

That was good Menagerie.
Now I’m from and still live in central Maryland, a “pretty fer piece” from Appalachia.. I’ve heard “How do” from my younger sister’s in-laws – originally from West Virginia. But I’ve heard some of my own (east coast) family use “hissy fit” as far back as I can recall… Go figure.
And we’d say “hip deep” or “knee deep” referring to snow or water. But I’ve never been in mud “hub deep”. 😁
Well THAT reminds me of something.
When I was in middle school we had a Siamese kitten. Beautiful. Fun. Spunky.
Quicker than lightning…….
One evening the kitten strutted into my room all confident and cute and I reached over to pet him. As he moved around I noticed something sticking out of his rear end.
What in THEE world?!?
Soooooo I grabbed some tissue and held the kitten and tried to pull WHATEVER it was that was stuck in there OUT.
You can imagine the kitten was none to pleased with this unexpected development. He got all squirrely and got away.
Tried it again.
Got a grip on it but between his maneuvering and the tissue, not to mention him “clamping down” on it, he got away again.
I did figure out it was, get this, a short length of RUBBER BAND the lil’ feller had eaten. It had apparently broken and was no longer circular, and it was one of those smaller, snappy type rubber bands. Emphasis on snappy.
Grabbed him again. This time I was able to get a better grip on the rubber band.
It worked til it didn’t. He clamped down again as it started to pull out and the thing slipped from the tissue with a loud *SNAP* and the kitten was GONE!!!
I mean, now you see him, now you don’t! There wasn’t an in between. POOF!
Took awhile to find him again!
He came back in view, I snagged him, and the final time the rubber band had enough length to grab it with the tissue and get it out. No snapping!
He never ate another rubber band again.
Your picture reminded me of that!

I have had a cat that ate string and ended up with some sticking out both ends.
Pulling on either end caused extreme discomfort. For the cat too. Poor thing.
Had a dog that ate en entire large spool of thread; lick, lick, lick … as though it was spaghetti.
Wondered what happened to that thread till the poor thing had what looked like a never-ending large tassel under his tail.
-Poor thing was so humiliated.
My brother spent about 30 minutes removing it.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
