It’s all good, dear friend. Thank you 💕 He was just telling me how after a terrible year , questioning why, he finally understood it was Christ drawing him closer. An awakening…which made my heart soar!!! I was so thrilled he got in touch to tell me. On my knees last night giving bounteous thanks….went to bed so happy I couldn’t sleep!! 😌🙏🏻💕
There was a time, dear sis, when we despaired that his downward spiral was irreversible. That was when he was in his early twenties.
But his guardian angels were working overtime. With the help of Almighty God who gave him no more than he could handle, he became a real life example of His miracles to perform. It was this past year when he had back surgery that he was faced with the real possibility of being severely disabled that he was questioning. I was taken aback by his sudden texts on his awakening. Something both Chris and I never thought we would year from hear.

I always think of the similarities between your son and mine – very tough teens and early twenties. Not sure if I ever mentioned but my husband and I, (his step-dad) sent him away for a long year on a mountain in Idaho for deep therapeutic schooling for his senior year of high school. We visited every six weeks for family counseling and physical activities. The camp-style school ‘worked’ for him as he learned a ton of coping and self-correcting skills he’s used in the best possible way since. He will be 39 on his next birthday and is in the process of buying the Company that he worked for when he came home. He left there for a Texas-based company that allowed him to grow into his leadership skills. Texas was good to him but alas he was homesick and looked for a position ‘back home’. He made one phone call to an old friend from the company asking about opportunities etc. Come to find out, the owner was looking to retire and wanted someone to be the General Manager of same company he’d worked for, for ten years. He applied at 11pm on Thursday night, received a call from the owner at 7:30 am and the rest is history. He’s been beyond successful there, knows the business and the employees. As of today, he is set to buy the entire business by May 2024; we’re so excited for him and his family. As icing on the cake, he and his wife have been unable to have children but in the last year, a niece in need of better care has been living with them and they’ve brought her into best schools, sports and a comfortable, secure neighborhood. The now have legal custody. God is Great. These days you would call what we did as ‘tough love’ and it was, but it was with God’s guidance that we trusted we were doing the right thing. We Thank God often for the results. It took us the better part of 12 years to make the final student loan payment and we kissed the check on the way out. I am thrilled to hear that your son is closer to The Son and thriving in His care. Some say it is hard to have Faith. We Treepers know better. Love to All.

I didn’t know about the child your son and daughter in law opened their hearts to. A shower of blessings for them all. To think that while your son was having his troubles, God knew this little girl would be in his life. So much to be grateful for and when truly contemplating, understanding just how great is He. May He continue to bless your family, sis, as He has so obviously done the whole time your lad was struggling.
Love is tough sometimes, ours to our children as His is to us. You’re right…we do know better 🙏🏻😘🤗

What is the most deceitful and aggressive temptation, that pulls at the saints, to draw them away from Jesus, and the holy life? It is the love of the world, and love for the things of the world. The desires of the eyes, the desires of the flesh, and the vanities of life, are all forced upon our minds continually; and all entice us through the promise of some happiness or satisfaction, or even some meaning in our identity. The power of persuasion is very strong, and almost impossible to resist; so that the devil easily pushes you all the way into the sin, saying, You’d only be a fool not to! But afterwards, the sweet bread of deceit has turned to gravel in our mouth; and who then is really proved to be the fool?
Now you magnify this influence to the moral ruin of entire generations, through ungodly entertainment, and “societal norms,” where the biggest enemy to what is supposed to be popular and progressive, is nothing more than polluting and killing of the moral conscience, and all fear of God, and reverence to His word.
So Christian families saw their children carried away from the faith of Jesus and virtuous living, to movie houses, and music venues, and every form of idolatry, to see and hear the absolute lowest of the people exalted as priests of the new antichrist religion. And the “grown-ups” are as well carried away by the spirit of whoredoms, and idolatry, coveting money and things and careers and status; and abandoning their duties of raising up their children in the fear of God, and love for the neighbor.
We have watched this unfold in every generation, from the very earliest days of our country: and more and more of what our ancestors had in the Lord, has been let go, and compromised, and forsaken; until today we have the world we do. yet you cannot tell most Christians, that this ruin is first going to be laid at their feet; even while they continue to do homage to the antichrist idols in the world.
Jeremiah 2:11 “Has a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? But My people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.” And the crowning of Antichrist king of all the earth, will be the end of the ways they have chosen for themselves. The thing aimed at was rebellion and casting off restraint, to do whatever they imagined to do; and having despised and rejected Jesus, who came in His Father’s Name; they will happily and enthusiastically receive one coming in his own name. Then truly by their fruits shall they be known.
Many interpret this verse with some sort of dietary connection, and on some level it may well be. However I can assure you Jesus would not have dined on rare lizard, finished off with a bowl of whisked lamb’s blood. When I look at this verse as: – What “goes” into our “mouth” BEFORE it comes out – is/are thought/s. Now the evil inclination, the snake, the devil, satan, negative, (the dark side) etc, is constantly engaged in that battle for our souls and so for that brief “moment” before we speak, we have the choice of whether to uplift or defile what comes out of our mouths. Is what we speak acceptable in front of the Creator? Pretty tough…, most of us would be struck dumb if we REALLY looked deep. Mercifully for us the God of kindness always triumphs over the god of wrath and it’s never too late to fix things.

My life as a worker is the way I say “thank you” to God for His unspeakable salvation. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

How gorgeous!!! Our redbuds are threatening to make an early appearance. But I don’t think they will have any feathered ornaments quite as colourful as those I regret to say.
Last spring a late freeze whacked our red bud bud’s.
Typical Okla weather.
In the corner of our yard it seems to be the social hangout for birds. Near the feeders and water it provides shelter they seek.
Two years ago it reached its full glory. Seed pods galore! Channeling my inner Johnny Appleseed I harvested those seeds and mixed them slightly with my bird seed. Larger birds, opposums, squirrels, raccoons set out to disperse.
Low and behold…this little bairn springs to life in our greenbelt last summer.
Protecting it from the lawnscapers is another task I’ve taken on.

I had misidentified the siskins as juvenile or female gold finches until I referred to “the book”.
I didnt realize until this year what a cool, throaty noise they make when they scurry around (juncos).
