Northern Ireland’s new leader calls Hamas terror organization ‘future partner for peace’

Michelle O’Neill, the recently elected First Minister of Northern Ireland, said on Thursday that the terrorist organization, Hamas, would eventually be regarded as the “future partner for peace” in the Middle East.

In an interview on Tonight with Andrew Marr on British broadcaster, LBC, O’Neill stressed the importance of communication, comparing the ongoing Israel-Hamas war to ongoing peace talks within Northern Ireland.

In the interview, Marr asked her if the terrorist organization Hamas would “eventually” become regarded as a “partner for peace.”

Many today view death as “the end of everything,” which is a convenient construct for people to avoid being accountable for their actions. Those who refuse to believe in God or choose the less dramatic shoulder shrug of agnosticism both mistakenly assume they may relieve themselves from eternal responsibility for their choices.

However, the Bible claims God desires to make Himself known and provides enough information for every person to make His acquaintance. “For His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So, they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). 

While knowledge of God does awaken a person to the responsibility for their actions, it also provides a beautiful hope. Jesus experienced the separation of His soul and body, so God understands the reality of death personally. The good news is that Christ overcame the spiritual destruction of death and, for all who will trust Him, death becomes merely “transportation” – a way to get from here to there.

For God’s people, there is comfort in knowing death no longer means separation. In Christ, it means the beginning of eternal life in God’s Kingdom. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). 

Intercede for U.S. officials as they engage in discussions surrounding agreements to end global conflicts. Pray for those losing loved ones in the wars raging around the world. Ask that faithful messengers will bring the message of Christ into their lives, and many will accept His comfort, and experience firsthand the hope in Him.

Good Morning all! I hope you have a blessed Sunday and if, unlike me, you still watch pro football, you enjoy the Superbowel.

My plan was to finish installing the blinds in the Sun room on Saturday and at 5 PM Jimmy, the guy that will be house/dog sitting while we are in Florida, was to show up for a home cooked meal of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and salad and to get reoriented and to refamiliarize himself with the dogs. 

Murphy was on the job and had other ideas! We woke on Saturday to find we had no water. Opening the crawlspace I determined it was not a leak but a problem with the pump. Called Norris well drilling and they had people on call. Jimmy decided he would like to come over anyway even though Sherry wouldn’t be cooking due to no water. 

Though he wasn’t working that day, Jay Reichart stopped by to check that he had the materials he will need for remodeling the main bathroom and to see if he could help with the situation. But I had Norris already on the way. 

Two guys from Norris arrived at a little after 2 PM and found out it was the pressure switch. The pressure switch is with the 5 gallon pressure tank in the crawl space. They had the replacement part with them and within an hour we had water. While they were here I got quotes for cleaning the well because it has been about 20 years since we had that done and for running the water from the pump into the corner of the garage where the water heater and softener will go. 

By moving my water inlet to the garage I can get a 25 gallon pressure tank. The larger the tank the less ones pump kicks on and off. It would also give easy access to the pressure switch. With the current set up I couldn’t use anything larger than a 5 gallon tank because not even a 10 gallon tank will fit between the floor joists to get it into the crawl space.

So, God willing, I will finally be getting the blinds all up today! Every day last week when I had planned to finish installing them something else came up. And of course the pump pressure switch choose a weekend to go out, just as the ignition module on the furnace did weekend before last. Murphy seems to like to strike at my place on the weekends when it is more expensive to get repairs done. 

But, always trying to look at the bright side, it didn’t happen on Super Bowel Sunday when it probably would have been impossible to get someone out to fix it.

‎2/‎11/‎2024 – Submitting unto authority, but not yielding up responsibility for one’s own conscience

Matthew 23:1-12 “Then Jesus spoke to the crowds, and to His disciples, saying, Upon the *seat (chair of authority) of Moses have sat down the scribes and the Pharisees; all things therefore whatever they may tell you to keep, keep and do; but according to their *works (effort and performance) do not: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they with their own finger will not move them. And all their works they do to be seen by men. They make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, and *love (are fond of) the first place in the suppers, and the first seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market places, and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi. You however be not called Rabbi: for one is your Leader, the Christ; and all you are brethren. And call not [anyone] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, who is in the heavens. Neither be called leaders: for one is your Leader, the Christ. But the greater of you shall be your servant. Just as someone however will exalt himself he shall be humbled; and just as someone will humble himself he shall be exalted.”

Submitting to authority and honor, is not for yielding up one’s own responsibility for his conscience to God. But it is in our subordination to authorities, that we show our subordination to God, who established the authorities. We are not allowed to pick and choose who is worthy to be obeyed, in the position of authority, based on their fitness for office. If self-seeking hypocrites and murderers are sitting in the chair of authority of Moses; it is for the honor of Moses’ seat that we do whatever we are told to do.

Following the example set however by the ones sitting in those seats, is another thing entirely, for several reasons. First is, that it transfers the worship due to God only, to an evil doer. It also shows consent to the evil, by subjecting the conscience to defilement, for the sake of that idolatry. Next, it supports the doctrine of hypocrisy in direct contradiction to walking perfect and upright from the heart as to the LORD, for the basest gratifications of adoration from men. So, for giving up walking in truth, in the Spirit and fellowship with God, good and clean in His eyesight; the meanest course of self aggrandizement, and self interest is made the rule of thoughts and behaviors. While being subordinate to authorities and institutions of men, is evidence of our subjection and obedience to God; imitating the evil is not part of obedience to God, and is forbidden.

What is quite remarkable about the Lord saying this now, at just this time; and that with respect to the fact, that they had all just now been spending the whole afternoon trying to entrap Jesus in something said, that they might be able to accuse Him to the governor, and have Him put to death. And after all their slippery and deceitful treacherous intentions towards the Lord; He finally asked them, if David called Christ Lord, how is He then his son? Silencing them completely. Then, in the very next breath, the Lord speaks to the crowds and to His disciples; The scribes and Pharisees have sat down in the seat of Moses: all things therefore whatever they may tell you to keep, keep and do.

This first point cannot be overstated, for it being an imperative upon Christians AND the crowds. Obedience and humility are not merely nice suggestions, for when it doesn’t cost us anything to perform: but absolute commandments by which our obedience to God is proven, in direct contact with the forces of injustice and unrighteousness. Our perfect Model and Pattern in all things is Jesus. He did not measure out His obedience and abiding under subjection to the quality of character in those who condemned Him; but by the authority and honor of the office they held; and the fact that the Father was directing His steps in all the way that He took.

And then of course, the second part of this admonition; to not do according to their works who are hypocrites and Satanic lovers of self. What both of these working together teaches us, is that we owe to God our obedience, and our good conscience; and it is our faith in Him that He counts to us for us righteousness; and nothing of all the religious costume of the stage-player. For then, we know, the Lord denounces the scribes and Pharisees with thundering condemnation and woes; and openly in the audience of the whole crowd, one by one names their wickedness, stupidity, and blindness, to publicly shame them for their arrogance and hostility to Him, and working only to prevent all Israel from being saved.

This would be the last time the children of Israel would have a chance to see their Savior Messiah. Because they would rather have the false religion of hypocrisy and teachings and traditions of men, instead of the word of God and His salvation; Jesus was about to go away from them and hide Himself from them, until His second coming at the end of the world. 

We can imagine how Joseph’s brothers had to keep up the lie to their father Jacob over all those years; but at length, their sins found them out; and Joseph’s dreams proved to be truly from God, and were performed by God; and they themselves could only see themselves as wicked rotten envious murderers of their own brother; even after he forgave them, and assured them, that whatever their evil intentions toward him; he considered the entire matter to be God’s doing. And there is a day coming, when Jesus’ brothers, who delivered Him to the Gentiles to be put to death, and hated Him without a cause; will one day be brought to know who He really is, and that God has made this great salvation.

So we take Jesus’ example, and His commandments, to be humble and obedient and to honor the powers that be; and to trust God with our righteousness, no matter what men may be able for now to do to us, and take up our cross and follow Him. If the powers and authorities of this world make laws, then we must, as far as is within keeping God’s commandments, keep and do those laws. If those laws make it for us to have our goods confiscated, and our selves put in captivity, or our lives taken away, if we do not break God’s commandments, and break faith with Jesus; then we take up our cross and follow Him.

Oh Lord, thank you for granting me another day to stand up against the tyranny in the world today, blessing me with the will, strength and fortitude to continue walking, digging and fighting all over this once blessed United States of America. Please continue to help me carry this rucksack and weapon by walking beside me and lending your loving hand apon this yoke I proudly wear. Please bless me with a full ammo pouch and full canteen, one for the enemy around me the other for the enemy above, so that I may prevail against one and endure the other. Please bless me with the light of the moon and stars when I need them and clouds and rain when I desire cover from my enemies eyes. Please ensure my aim is true, that my creedo “One Shot, One Kill” is fullfilled, that my enemy does not suffer and their end is swift and complete. Please Lord, protect me from short rounds and friendly fire from my allies, so that I might continue to honor my oath to the Constitution of the United States of America. Last of all Lord please forgive me for what I must do, I only wished to be left alone, bask in the glory of your word and behold this beautiful world that you created for us but alas Evil has risen and I am compelled to smite it in your name.

Israelis fear a loss of American support, and worry that Biden will push them into a ceasefire deal that will allow Hamas to remain armed and in power, thereby allowing it to attack Israel again, as it has promised to do.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

This is a female Red-winged Blackbird. I had a lone female yesterday in my yard, and a single male a few days before on multiple days. Its disconcerting to me, as these beauties were at one time, one of the most abundant birds in North America.
I would attribute their population decline to habitat loss, as their secondary habitat is small farms, fields, and their primary is wetlands. It’s quite sad to remember the days of huge flocks to now being lucky to see a handful. Don’t get me wrong, they are not rare as of yet, but the downward trend in population is concerning. They are a special bird to me because of the stories I had previously shared here about their nesting in my yard up north for a few springs, long ago.

For demolition fans. The IDF is permitted to demolish structures that are boobytrapped or are used by Hamas for military purposes with the exception of hospitals. The soldier says “Hag Sameach” that is “Happy holiday”.
