There is a great documentary, available on netflix, about “The Muscle Shoals sound”. It details the studio musicians that worked at the studio (they were known as the swampers) and all the great music they produced there. In the 70’s many top acts recorded there including The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Skynyrd, Wilson Pickett and many more…
Seen it. It’s fabulous. And it was all those WHITE studio musicians who were laying down the soul sound.
It just sounds great so you know their are gifted musicians playing that song.

Jay … allow me another story inspired by your … well … inspired … garage rock selections. I spent 3rd grade and half of 4th grade in Santa Clara, CA … 1964-1966 when there were still fruit orchards for us to play in and Silicon Valley was JUST getting started. And down the street from our house was a garage rock band who played with the garage door open most of the time (long before Karen’s and noise ordinances 😂). They mostly played surf music and were particularly good with Ventures-sounding music. Your selections just transported me back to those days … and memories of the most beautiful (cute … my preference is “cute” not necessarily “gorgeous”) … girl of any classroom of mine, ever. I still have two class photos with her smiling face … forever recorded. And yes, she still looks cute … in her 1965 little girl dress and hairdo. I hope she has had (and is still having) a great life.
Oh … and just to show how smitten I was with her? My best friend, Tony, and I rode our bikes to her house one day and got on our knees on their front lawn and sang … “Mrs. Brown you’ve got a lovely daughter” … I kid you not. We actually did that. OK, OK, I’m a stalker weirdo … all the way back to 3rd grade. Oh! We sang two lines and then got outta Dodge as fast as our short legs would peddle.

I’ve not watched the interview yet, but The Gateway Pundit said he did not deny it!
And, if indeed Putin was accurate, it would only give more credibility to things he said.
Do we have any reason to believe he was actually denied some form of employment with the CIA?
We have Tucker’s statement that he attempted to join and was denied ? Is that correct?

Tucker has said as much several times, the first time I heard it was when he himself was interviewed on an internet livestream show (I can’t recall whose show). He applied out of college but when his application was turned down, he went into journalism.

Highly suggest you lube the door. Every hinge and roller and the track. The sell lube just for that application.
By track, I mean the track overhead. Not the track the rollers run in.
Also lube the horizontal springs. Along the top it will wick in-between the coils.
+1 on the Genie opener. Installed 1-1/4 Hpc belt drive for my daughter.

I could only watch about 45 minutes of the Putin interview last night, but one thing I noticed… Tucker and many of the commenters on yesterday’s thread… had no patience for the history lesson that Putin was sharing.
Next, Putin shifted to changing from a “history lesson” to a “private personalized story” of himself as a youth visiting a Hungarian town.
I believe this was very purposeful. There are few, especially our children, who can sit still for a church service, to read a book, to listen to a scholar… because of the affect of technology on our minds.
Thus, shifting to personal story… people are more interested and have greater focus when shifting to a personal feeling-laden story rather than 30 minutes of historical facts.
Putin is former KGB. I believe he was sharing much subliminally as he was literally. He kept asking Tucker.. was this a “show” or a “conversation”.
Tucker really showed his training of sound bite to sound bite to sound bite with no patience for meaningful deep dialogue.
As my father’s daughter and the ex wife of miltary intelligence… I was brought up understanding that things unsaid are sometimes just as, if not more, important than things said, so I watch the context of lots of things including both Tucker’s and Putin’s expressions.
I will be watching the interview again with notice to these things.
For those interested, “The Putin Interviews” is a great book by Oliver Stone. It shares a lot of light to the mind of Putin and his patriotism to his country and to his walk with faith.
Additionally, I don’t think Tucker realized what a great honor it was to be bestowed with copies of the history Putin recited.
Tucker is a show man and not skilled in long form podcast-style interviews. He came off a bit of a petulant jerk in my opinion.
I would have loved to see Joe Rogan handle this interview. Joe is remarkable at the long form conversation and Tucker is no Joe.
I look forward and wait impatiently for Joe Rogan to come around and interview Trump. Joe seems to be retreating a bit, I’m sure in fear of retaliation. He tends to play really safe nowadays and staying with his comedians and fighters… though you might get a snippet of solid political discussion mid way. Joe seems to be getting squeezed my censors and now the random weird commercials that are so out of place during his talks. Somebody got to Joe.
Incidentally Tucker has mentioned before that he has no television in the house and only reads books. The way he expressed himself, he alluded to himself possibly being on the spectrum. At least that is what I gathered. Thus, where I spoke of his “training” to capture the soundbite.
Whereas Joe Rogan has had several years of long format training for his podcast… which makes him a pro at it.
Tucker is trying to be Joe, even with his cheesy sign on his podcast… but Tucker is no Joe. Tucker needs to not rest too heavily on his popularity… he’ll go by the way of Megan Kelly, who I personally can’t stand her arrogance either.

I’m sure I mangled the basic purpose of my comment, but Russia is after all “a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.” And Putin IS Russia, the new and the old, in many ways.
IMHO … Tucker is far superior to Rogan regardless of format. Rogan has positioned himself as a moderate, middle of the roader … while Tucker continually speaks of his faith in God. One God. Who created the Universe. There is no time for lukewarmth in our current days of crisis. Now is the time to choose a side as God revealed in the Book of Revelation.
I honestly don’t understand the criticism of Tucker. And I thought he did an excellent job with the Putin interview. To suggest Rogan would somehow have handled Putin’s 30 minute dissertation on the History of migrating Euro borders is laughable. I’ve heard Tucker criticized for interjecting (appropriate) questions into Putin’s long narration. And he would have been criticized for remaining silent during it. Meh.
But I am really losing my patience on these pages for all the “controlled opposition” paranoid schitzo’s who truly are “discovering” a communist (a Democrat or RINO in disguise) under every TV persona. Like PDJT … Tucker is putting himself “out there” … he could spend his days fly fishing till he was in his deathbed … just as Trump could play golf till he is as disabled as Tiger Woods. But he doesn’t. And BTW … Tucker GOT the interview with Putin. Rogan won’t leave the comfy confines of his custom studio and cohorts. TBH … I don’t believe Putin thinks much of a man like Rogan who embraces … well … nothing. Nothing but “the squishy middle” … designed to attract the largest online audience who are all aficionados of non values … of nothingness.
For example, Rogan was just interviewing my ex CAL BEARS boy, Aaron Rodgers … when he said that transgendering our little children is awful and should be stopped. But! He said that it was just fine for transgenders to openly practice their mental illness. Of course he didn’t call T’s … mentally ill. Rather, he was stretching to show his oh-so-reasonable “inclusion” of Queerdom. Sorry. That’s how this massive ball of depravity has started steam-rolling our culture and our children. Through our t-o-l-e-r-a-n-c-e of destructive, corrosive, forces. The forces of EVIL. Rogan wants to live in the shades of gray … in areas where that HURTS our culture and our children. Sorry … I don’t like that mentality.
You know what, Kenji, you are absolutely right about Rogan’s fence sitting and tolerance of trans folks.

However, when I was viewing the faces Tucker was giving and the frustration from Putin at Tucker’s impatience… I found it reprehensible. Putin is the head of a superpower here, not Tucker, so a certain level of humility and reverance should be bestowed.
Last time I was able to listen almost to the end today was about 6 hours ago, and I think it was up to 6 million viewers. Those people wanted to hear what Putin had to say and Tucker was just the vehicle.
To your point, though, he did get the interview and had the cajones to go do it. Bravo!
It is amazing to see the evolution of those forced to move from their comfort zones and their evolution. I appreciate anyone who acts courageous in these days to defend our freedom, so maybe I came off too hard on Tucker… but when you’re dealing with an elder statesman with a history and knowledge as rich as Putin’s… one should do their best to soak in the moment and learn what’s being communicated.
Putin said a lot of things in that interview that gave the American public huge clues into the malfeasances of our government. I am praying hard we can all find our ways to collectively do something about it.
I found the history lesson fascinating and I’ll likely listen to it a few more times to take notes.
I believe our journals and archives will be quite valuable someday to our future generations.
Are we living through the time America will fall, or will we live to stand again?

You might find Konstantin’s analysis of the interview as fascinating as I did. He is a Russian expatriate … and knows much more what he’s talking about (what Putin is talking about) than I do. And … he cites both good and bad (missed opportunities/questions) by Tucker. It’s a long listen that I had running while I was working today … shocking as it sounds … I actually still do work … some 😜😂

Agree Kenji. I’ve watched both Rogan and Tucker. I do like Rogan’s “quizzical style”, which often elicits more voluntarily given info from the guest, but I also like Tucker’s “furrowed brow” look, as he is hearing information that’s seemingly new to him (maybe it sometimes really isn’t new) and he’s experiencing a bit of disbelief… But he usually then nods in agreement at the end of the guest’s comment.
I too have been mildly turned off by Rogan’s squishy fence-sitting on too many important issues as you noted. And you are probably correct in suspecting that Rogan is playing the middle, ostensibly to offend the fewest possible in his audience. We can’t argue with his numbers so maybe he’s onto something. After all, America has shown itself to generally be a middle-of the r0ad, tolerant society in the past, before the Left actively worked to divide and fracture the nation. Remember how popular the “Lake Woebegone” series was on NPR? (I never “got it”.) But I prefer a journalist / commentator who’s faithful to his inner beliefs in his public work.

ARE YOU EXHAUSTED SPIRITUALLY?
“The everlasting God…fainteth not, neither is weary.” Isaiah xl. 28
Exhaustion means that the vital forces are worn right out. Spiritual exhaustion never comes through sin but only through service, and whether or not you are exhausted will depend upon where you get your supplies. Jesus said to Peter – “Feed My sheep,” but He gave him nothing to feed them with. The process of being made broken bread and poured out wine means that YOU have to be the nourishment for other souls until they learn to feed on God. They must drain you to the dregs. Be careful that you get your supply, or before long you will be utterly exhausted. Before other souls learn to draw on the life of the Lord Jesus direct, they have to draw on it through you; you have to be literally “sucked,” until they learn to take their nourishment from God. We owe it to God to be our best for His lambs and His sheep as well as for Himself.
Has the way in which you have been serving God betrayed you into exhaustion? If so, then rally your affections. Where did you start the service from? From your own sympathy or from the basis of the Redemption of Jesus Christ? Continually go back to the foundation of your affections and recollect where the source of power is. You have no right to say – “O Lord, I am so exhausted.” He saved and sanctified you in order to exhaust you. Be exhausted for God, but remember that your supply come from Him. “All my fresh springs shall be in Thee.”

Publicly drag this whole cabinet through a humiliating line of questioning and expose them for knowingly putting our country at risk by allowing Joe to remain unexposed.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
