WASHINGTON, D.C. — Conference Chairwoman Stefanik, Speaker Johnson, Majority Leader Scalise, and Majority Whip Emmer issued the following statement regarding the Senate’s immigration bill:
“House Republicans oppose the Senate immigration bill because it fails in every policy area needed to secure our border and would actually incentivize more illegal immigration.
“Among its many flaws, the bill expands work authorizations for illegal aliens while failing to include critical asylum reforms. Even worse, its language allowing illegals to be ‘released from physical custody’ would effectively endorse the Biden ‘catch and release’ policy.
“The so-called ‘shutdown’ authority in the bill is anything but, riddled with loopholes that grant far too much discretionary authority to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas – who has proven he will exploit every measure possible, in defiance of the law, to keep the border open.
“The bill also fails to adequately stop the President’s abuse of parole authority and provides for taxpayer funds to fly and house illegal immigrants in hotels through the FEMA Shelter and Services Program.
“Because President Biden has refused to utilize his broad executive authority to end the border catastrophe that he has created, the House led nine months ago with the passage of the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2). That bill contains the necessary components to actually stem the flow of illegals and end the present crisis. The Senate must take it up immediately.
“America’s sovereignty is at stake.
“Any consideration of this Senate bill in its current form is a waste of time.
It is DEAD on arrival in the House. We encourage the U.S. Senate to reject it.”

I’d like to point out a couple of things about this issue.
While some who backed this proposal did so for ‘environmental’ reasons, I don’t think that was the whole reason behind it.
Stores such as Trader Joes that did not use plastic bags were forced to stop giving out paper bags without charging for them, and the charge was a regressive tax that went to the government. Nothing ‘environmental’ about that.
I believe a lot of this was a humiliation ritual. Our American supermarkets were the wonder of the world, know we see Americans trying to juggle groceries in their hands as they wait in line to pay at the self-checkout.
Yes I know there were always grocery stores that didn’t provide bags, Aldi being one.
Consumers had the choice to shop there or not.
I’m sick of people being self-righteous over how Americand choose to live differently from other countries.

Made my first trip to Aldi’s in over a year to get something for Christmas.
Six registers have been converted to self-checkout. One (!) register operated by a human.
Zero customers at self-checkouts, 12 (twelve) waited patiently for the human employee.
Won’t be back for at least another year.
Our Aldi installed 10 self-checkouts. They have 4 operated by employees. Usually only one of the regular ones is open when I have been there. Nearly every self-checkout has people ringing up there own merchandise. I have witnessed several thefts at these self-checkouts when I have been waiting in line to have my purchases rung up by an employee.
Aldi has announced that they are going to actively avoid hiring white people. Everyone should boycott.

I don’t know what’s up with their website, but on my desktop computer with Brave search engine, the page came up with the banner “Our Three Core Values”. In the case of Speaker Johnson I left a message on the answering machine / voicemail – not able to reach a person.

1. Get TOTALLY out of debt which will be assisted by #2
2. Buy mainly only necessities; be frugal; replace items only when they break
3. Whenever possible, buy from local businesses, not chains
4. Whenever possible pay by cash or check; that get’s you as much as possible away from the debt donkey system
5. Use credit unions, not banks; credit unions are often local, are owned by their members (you), can’t use your deposits for speculation, and don’t contribute to big bank lobbying funds

The public the neo-Lippmannites purport to serve isn’t conceived of as rational agents capable of interpreting objective reality for themselves but as a dangerous, confused, ignorant, emotionally driven, easily influenced, racist, sexist, homophobic, environmentally unsustainable, collection of nodes that ought to be managed into better decisions. The study of humanity seems to have given way to the study of human management, and this is what I will be exploring in my next major project.

Hi Jared, about 3 days ago I had the same revelation as you about Daniel 70 week prophecy (although I had not yet come across your website – nor any other raising this point). When I saw in Wikipedia that Sultan Suleiman of the Ottoman Empire had made “A DECREE” in 1535ad “TO REBUILD THE WALLS OF JERUSALEM” – I realised that this prophecy of Daniel was indeed repeating itself in our time. For this is the same precise language of Daniel 9:25. And so now, if time permits, I will be researching Suleiman the Magnificent and “his decree” so that I may write a short book on this Bible prophecy. For then Christians will know with certainty that there are yet still 7 Years of Great Tribulation on God’s timeline to be completed. In 1535ad William Tyndale was arrested for translating the Greek New Testament into English. But by God’s divine providence the English NT was printed and distributed only a few months later that same year – all over England and Europe. I find this to be no trivial coincidence as it was the first mass printing “ever” of the English NT in Europe. And the fact that this coincided with Suleiman’s decree to rebuild of the Old walls of Jerusalem cannot be left to chance. Perhaps Yosua’s point about an additional 7 years being added to the year 2025 is referring to the first Shemita cycle of Christ – when He returns in the year 2025ad to rule and reign on the earth at his Armageddon coming – which also happens to be Israel’s 77th Birthday of Independence.
