Full Chapter 🔗
1 John 1:9 is a call to salvation. It presents an if-then scenario: IF we confess our sins, THEN He will forgive us and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. Therefore, the opposite is also true: IF we don’t confess our sins, THEN He will not forgive us nor cleanse us. And by the way, neither that verse nor any other verse in the Bible says that we have to confess each and every sin we’ve ever committed.
If you think it’s about confessing EVERY sin, answer these two questions: How many sins have you committed in your lifetime? How many sins have you specifically confessed?
Now which number is higher? The first one, right? Therefore, 1 John 1:9 DOES NOT–CANNOT–mean that we confess every sin we’ve ever committed–not to get salvation and not to retain fellowship with God (1 John 1:9 doesn’t even mention fellowship).
1 John 1:9 is about admitting we are sinners and that we need a Savior. It’s not a command to confess every sin we’ve ever committed (been there, tried that, almost went crazy)!
And 1 John 1:7 backs up what I just said, “the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from ALL sins”–that’s past sins, present sins, future sins, sins you haven’t even thought about yet, sins you remember, sins you’ve forgotten, sins you didn’t even realize were sins–ALL sins means ALL sins!
If you have been born again, you are a FORGIVEN person, and now, you can do whatever you want!
The question is–what do you really want?

Mike Gill, a married father of three, was blasted by the unnamed suspect on K Street NW around 5:45pm Monday. He was collecting his wife, an education lawyer, at the time of the incident and was inside the car when he was struck.
He served as chief operating officer of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission during Donald Trump’s time in the White House, the Daily Wire reported.
A Trump administration official is critically-ill after being shot during a carjacking in crime-ridden Washington DC, whose perpetrator then killed another victim.
The heavily liberal-leaning city has seen carjackings skyrocket of late, with 953 in 2023 alone, nearly nine times as many as there were in 2018.
Gill managed to get out of his car, but collapsed shortly afterwards.
A witness told the Washington Post that his wife ‘ran toward her husband and grabbed his hand,’ asking him what happened, but getting no response.
The victim was wearing ‘a dress shirt and sweater, sprawled on the pavement with one foot still in the passenger’s side of a car. His right hand was twitching as blood pooled around his head,’ Yolanda Douglas added.
A spokeswoman for Gill said: ‘We can confirm that Mike Gill was the victim of the shooting at the 900 block of K Street Northwest on Monday evening and is in critical condition.
‘Out of respect for the family, we have nothing additional to add at this time.’
Gill’s work in government dates back to at least 2016, when the city of Washington appointed him to represent the GOP on their Board of Elections.
He also served as the chief of staff to CFTC Chairman Christopher Giancarlo and was Chief Regulatory Reform Officer for the commission.
He served as a lawyer at a private firm and the vice president of a trade association prior to his government worked.
He was a deputy director of the 1992 Bush-Quayle re-election campaign and also worked for Republican members of the Senate and House, holding a top level security clearance.

Good morning JWoo! Got your advice about the coons the other day. 🙂 Met the coon guy yesterday. He’ll be back today to place a one way exit only at the vent and spray his magic spray. Then next Tuesday I’ll be spending another night in San Antonio to listen and make sure that all is clear. He will be back next Wednesday to close the hole. Actually, the coons didn’t tear the screen but managed to loosen the bottom and get in . After the repairs the new screen needs to be placed on the outside so they won’t be able to push it. And all the repairs will involve hardy planks, sheets and boards since they are coon resistant.
wondering if after the repairs I shouldn’t periodically place a couple of rags with ammonia in the attic.

Another friend has husband whose health is suddenly failing and she’s had to have emergency tooth extractions from a fall she suffered almost a year ago.
General concensus… things are falling apart everywhere.
Well, we know this:
1) This, too, shall pass.
2) It’s not forever and our Eternity in a perfect Heaven will outnumber the days of bad.
3) We weren’t intended to handle everything on our own, hence why the Lord gives us each our own gifting.
Hoping you can secure some good help and the permit office won’t give you too hard a time. At least you live in Texas and don’t have the red tape in California over it.

The Commander of the Brigade was told that in the media there is a perception of a slow motion and no such a big success.
His answer was : “I don’t know what is being “marketed to the consumer” but there is no substitute to what one see with the eyes.

It is clear on the ground that if they are let to keep moving Khan Yunis will all collapse with all their Brigades. After Khan Yunis we have Rafa that is at the south end of Gaza. That will pretty much complete the conquest and there will be no more Hamas Brigades left as an organization. Then there is a long haul of clearing the areas and finding and handling tunnels.
By the way yesterday the Speaker of the IDF mentioned finally the use of sea water to flood tunnels. Areas that are qualified get this special treatment not all the tunnels are treated the same.

He was ministering to troops. Not as a chaplain in the military, but as a YMCA employee. Yes, the YMCA colluded with the military to provide wholesome alternatives for those troops. And as the military funeral procession attests, his ministry was appreciated.
But he died far from the front lines, from normal life. Yes, soldiers die from normal causes and we honor their service too.
Where is the line? Does simply dying during the war years allow your followers to say he died as a military chaplain?
He died as a YMCA chaplain. The British did have military chaplains in WWI. Over 5000 of them. Close to 200 died during service in the war.

When 2024 began, you had 8,784 hours ahead of you until the year would be over. By the end of today, January 31, you will have already spent 744 of those hours. What have you done with your time? Are you using it effectively for the kingdom of God?
Today’s verse is half a sentence, the apostle Paul has been telling the church in Ephesus to walk in love, laying out how to do that. Then he writes, “Look carefully at how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16).
Another 8,040 hours in the year starting tomorrow may seem like a lot, but the reality is that time is in short supply. Your time is limited. Yet it is one of the most precious gifts God has given you.
In chapter 13 of Paul’s letter to the Romans, God provides some helpful direction about making the best use of your time.
The first is to “wake up” (verse 11), then put on God’s armor and cast off darkness (verse 12), walk in the light and live righteously (verses 13-14). Live in a way that honors and glorifies God (Matthew 5:16), rejoice in the day God has made (Psalm 118:24), care for others (Philippians 2:4), and keep Jesus and His priorities uppermost (Matthew 6:33).
If you have had difficulty with how you use your time, ask the Holy Spirit to direct you. Pray for believers in Congress to seek to glorify God through their time in public office.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Blinken, Biden Considering Unilateral Recognition of Palestinian State
Major Break from U.S. and Israel Policy
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has reportedly asked the State Department to review options for a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state at the end of the war between Hamas and Israel — a major break from past U.S. policy, and from Israel.
Barak Ravid of Axios reported:
While U.S. officials say there has been no policy change, the fact the State Department is even considering such options signals a shift in thinking within the Biden administration on possible Palestinian statehood recognition, which is highly sensitive both internationally and domestically.
For decades, U.S. policy has been to oppose the recognition of Palestine as a state both bilaterally and in UN institutions and to stress Palestinian statehood should only be achieved through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The story — almost certainly leaked deliberately from the State Department — comes as Blinken prepares to visit Israel for the fifth time since the Hamas terror attack on October 7 launched the war.
Though Blinken has expressed sympathy for the Israeli people, he has also tried to restrict Israel’s military response, and has lately become adamant about forcing Israel to accept a Palestinian state, which would be a major win for Hamas, which would achieve that outcome after the mass murder of civilians.
I am familiar. It’s an intention but a bit premature to know where it goes.
