Mornin’ Bet. I share your appreciation of small, personal routines. I think I inherited this from my dad who, for his whole life, loved his quiet, solitary early morning rituals. His preference was to get up right at dawn, make his coffee and . . . just enjoy the quiet.
While still living at home and attending college, I worked at a disc jockey at a small “daytimer” radio-station. My job as the “morning-jock”was to open up the station and sign-on at 6am. I came to enjoy spending the quiet time with my dad before heading off to work..
Times like those just centre me. Precious times with your dad. Irreplaceable.
And really quite a good life lesson about the importance of making time for those quiet moments for our well being.

1/25/2024 – Apostasy and the rise of the Antichrist
2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”
Isaiah 66:3-4 “He that kills an ox [is as if] he slew a man; he that sacrifices a lamb, [as if] he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offers an oblation, [as if he offered] swine’s blood; he that burns incense, [as if] he blessed an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spoke, they did not hear: but they did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.”
Daniel 11:30-35 “For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. Summary:
1. Apostasy, matching the rate of restraint being taken away from the ungodly.
2. The rise of the Antichrist.
3. Hand in hand, under the false promise of prosperity; the many ‘fallen away’ conspire with the Antichrist, to establish the vision, and make war on the saints.
4. The ‘Time of Jacob’s Trouble, and the great tribulation; for the sifting of the nations with a sieve of vanity; and purging and preparing the world for the coming of Christ.
Jesus warned us of the time coming, that would be so powerfully deceptive; many would be scandalized and fall away, and become the betrayers of His saints. The words He used, were, “that if it were possible, they should deceive the very elect.” This, in my opinion, does in no way suggest, that the elect will be immune to the deception; but rather, because of its craftiness and allure being so intense and irresistible; only those who are filled with the Holy Spirit, and taking heed, shall be able to escape its snare.
As to the matter of apostasy, and the coinciding casting away of all restraint of the ungodly; this has been the course taken throughout history; that with the falling away of the righteous, and going back to take their portion in this life, has been the letting go of restraint from all the rest of the world, to thus the universal ruin and loss.
Apostasy was the cause for the world of the beginning falling into complete and utter corruption, and the world becoming filled with violence; because the “sons of God” had wearied of the strivings of the Spirit, because they also were flesh: until only Noah had remained loyal, and the LORD repented that He had made man upon the earth.
Apostasy was what opened the hearts and minds of men after the flood, to be drawn to Nimrod the mighty, and his antichrist delusions, of a city and a tower and a name, to defy the heavens. Stubbornness, and rebellion, and apostasy, in the children of Israel, until there was no remedy; was the reason why the kingdom of God through the house of David was forfeited to the Times of the Gentiles, till Christ comes.
Apostasy, forgetting their first love, and their first works, idolatry and uncleanness, indolence and indifference and complacency in the world; was what made five of the seven churches unfit and unaware, unprepared and incompetent, for the imminent trial set to come upon all the earth: which was written for an example, for warning to us; upon whom the end of the world has come. For immediately after the Lord sent to speak to the churches, to set their affairs in order and to repent; the next thing that’s seen, is the Great Counsel in heaven before the throne of God, and the revealing of the coming of the wicked one, and the tribulation of the end of the world.
This is how it goes, and how it will go: as the lawlessness and evil of the world increases, it becomes harder and harder to bear, for anyone who isn’t truly and deeply founded in Christ, and “making sure his calling and election” the way the Lord has said we must. Eventually the pressure from the New Wine will burst the old bottles, and the New Fabric, not agreeing with the old, will rip it out worse than ever before.
The teaching of the parable of the sower, is true, whether we are just now hearing the word for the first time, even through all our days. We can have a wayside heart, a stony heart, a heart choked by the cares and pleasure of the world, and desires for other things; if we give in to self and the flesh, and the tauntings of the world against being a holy saint of Jesus. But the only right way to hear the word, and the only assurance of His grace to overcome and finish as victors, is having and maintaining a good and honest heart; that receives the word in an appropriately well worked ground; and provides for its strong and healthy natural growth and coming to maturity and fruit bearing.
That’s why all the apostles strongly warned, OFTEN, to earnestly contend for the faith ONCE DELIVERED to the saints; to fight the good fight of faith; to take AND TO PUT ON the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand IN THE EVIL DAY, and having done all to stand; giving all diligence, to furnish to our faith virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, charity: for these things being in us, and abounding, make us that we shall neither be idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was long ago purged from his sins. Because of this the more, brethren, give diligence to make sure your calling and election: for if you do these things, you shall never fall: thus truly then shall be ministered abundantly unto you an entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Next to their own ruin and loss, the Scriptures are abundant with telling us, that these will in fact be the ones joining and promoting the rise to power of their false savior. Daniel wrote what he heard from the angel Gabriel, that it would be traitors and apostates, who would work together with the Antichrist to put the plan in action. Like Balaam, who taught Balak how to ensnare the sons of Israel; bringing in fornication and idolatry, in order to make them an abomination to God; so that He Himself would turn and destroy them: so shall these “many” have “intelligence” and close deliberation with the beast; for effecting his false prosperity and world dominion, first by war upon the saints of Jesus Christ.
To this religion of hypocrisy, Isaiah wrote; that it would be why God would send them a strong delusion, to believe what is false; “Because they received not the love of the truth.” They think that their confirmation from God, lies in the vast multitudes who subscribe to their doctrine; even though that has never in history been the truth. As the Pharaoh’s magicians resisted Moses, so do these withstand the servants of the Lord speaking His words, and teaching His doctrine. It has always been the hardest and most hostile spirit opposing Christ and His messengers, coming out of the synagogues AND CHURCHES. Jesus in fact said, that they will work against us from out of the synagogues (assemblies); and that the time would come, when whoever kills you, will think that he is doing God service.
It is worth noting, that the men of Nineveh; which were reputed as the worst of the heathen, and the capitol city of blasphemy and war; they only heard the word of doom pronounced, and somehow knew what they had to do: Repent and cry mightily to God, and to put away the violence and evil in their hands. This generation, which has heard and known more than any ever before; has no such fear of God, to tremble at His word; and even after these nearly two thousand years of the Gospel being among the Gentiles, and every generation afforded faithful witnesses of the Lord; yet they do not repent! So what else can God do, but repent that He has even made man upon the earth; and put in motion the things He has said through all His prophets, of how to make an end to it, and establish His kingdom forever.
Michael, you have much to offer and I do not doubt your honest desire to be a true believer, a righteous person, worthy of being called a child of God. However like so many people who are a “flaming fire”, they/we/I often get ensnared into the “we are the only ones right” trap. Judaism, AKA The Bible is FULL of reference and testimony that His chosen people are, have always been and will always be – His chosen people. What else is the Bible but a testimony and lesson of what God expects and what He will do IF His children wander off too far off track. It is, has always has been, and always will be. To suggest that they (the Jews) have now been discarded (albeit temporary) by God is plain nonsense. If people would just think a moment – what other nation and “religion” would have sustained and survived thousands of years, offering the world countless great, huge pillars of light, who like us, have suffered, and much much more besides, in order to keep the Holy Flame alight – in a sea of darkness. No disrespect, but Christianity as a unit would never have survived what Jews have had to endure throughout their history. Just look around us, “Mainstream” is almost unrecognizable. Some are so far off, it appears they have simply discarded the OT entirely – making up their own “commandments” along the way. Seems to me filling pews is more important than actually observing, doing and teaching the ORIGINAL word of God. Only a fool would discard what Judaism has to offer.
“IF God’s people wander too far off track!” You make it sound like just a little slip, maybe here or there! THAT IS NOT WHAT THE BIBLE RECORDS AT ALL, to be the story of Israel. YES! Israel is and always has been His people, for the sake of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But they have not been His people by actual fact of their love and faith and being a converted and holy people! that has had to be the mission of all of God’s prophets and messengers since Moses and Joshua, the Judges and Samuel; protesting to them to repent and believe and BE THE PEOPLE OF GOD that they are called to be!
Read the last words of the Covenant which Moses wrote, regarding the blessings and cursings attached; Leviticus 26, and Deuteronomy 28. Read the entire history of Israel and Judah and Jerusalem, from Joshua and Judges, to Samuel and Kings, and the Chronicles. Read the prophets and the Psalms. Stubbornness and rebellion have been in the children of Israel since Joseph’s brothers sold him into Egypt; since Moses brought them out and gave them the Covenant and the priesthood; since all the times of the judges until Samuel; when they demanded that he give them a king, like all the nations. And Samuel was exceeding grieved, because they had asked for a king, when God was their KING! But the LORD said to him; they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me that I should rule over them. Give them a king, according to all that they desire of you; but protest solemnly to them, and show them what manner of king shall rule over them.
This has been their ‘modus operandi’ throughout history. Except for a very small remnant, they have been stubborn and rebellious and refused to hear and believe in their God. When Nebuchadnezzar came and destroyed the city and the temple, and carried away captive all the chief of the People; leaving only the poorest of the country to tend the land; from that day till now, Israel has been under the authority and rule of the Gentiles. It has always been because of the LORD’s compassion for His people, that He periodically afforded them favor in the sight of their rulers; to give them some respite, and comfort.
This Rabbinic Judaism, which we know today, only started about 150 years before Jesus came in the flesh; and it is NOT and never has been the faith of Abraham. The faith of Abraham was the faith of all of God’s elect from the beginning of the world; the faith of Christ coming in the flesh to sacrifice Himself for our redemption. It was the faith which Adam and Eve taught their sons; which Abel believed, and Cain refused. It was the faith of Seth, whom God gave to Eve instead of Abel whom Cain killed. It was the faith of Enoch, who walked with God, and preached the coming cataclysm, and what the times would be at the end of the world, WHEN CHRIST COMES TO JUDGE THE WORLD. It was the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Joseph. It was the faith of Job, and Moses, and the whole teaching of the law. It was the faith of all the righteous of Israel in all generations. But this “new invention” of the Judaism that is now, is entirely made as a substitute of the faith of God’s elect. That’s why they did not know Him when He appeared in the flesh before them; even with His having done all those miracles and signs before them, they did not believe, and they did not repent. So then, He has turned to the Gentiles, and they have heard! And so God has hidden Himself from Israel to this day; not because he has rejected them from being His people; but because He has rejected their stubborn way and rebellion; and because THEY have rejected His Son Jesus Christ. For to this day, they actually consider it the main identifying feature of being a Jew, that Jews don’t believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So God has been among the Gentiles with His gospel, and has been taking from among the nations a multitude that no man can number; to provoke Israel to jealousy; and BECAUSE He is the Savior of the world.
The ONLY ONE who is right, is God and His word. And His gospel absolutely is EXCLUSIVE; although freely offered to all, and all space to repent and come to Him; salvation in Christ is conditional. Man is not the final authority, but God. It is not any man’s “being right, and everyone else is wrong,” but God! It is He that has made us, and not we ourselves. We are the ones who have sinned, and have been born with a sinful nature alienated from God. God, in His compassion and righteous pity, has come in the flesh Himself, in the person of Jesus the Anointed, to sacrifice His life and His blood, in cruelest sufferings AT THE HAND OF HIS OWN PEOPLE! in order to reconcile mankind to God, and set us free from all the ruin of our nature from sin and the devil.
All the law and the prophets and Psalms, all speak of these things; and much more like words. The day Jesus comes back, in power and great glory; every eye shall see Him; and they who pierced Him; and shall wail and mourn because of Him, as for an only son. And He is coming to Jerusalem, to save Israel, in that day when all the armies of the world are gathered together to come and destroy her for ever; but Jesus will destroy them, and give their bodies and their blood to all the fowls of the heaven, and all the beasts of the earth.
No one loves Israel more than Jesus and His Christians; in fact the very ones whom they have persecuted and worked against for the entire time they’ve been among the heathen. The hardness has happened to them for a punishment; but there will be a completion of the punishment, with all their eyes and ears and hearts being once and for all opened, and they converted for ever, and reconciled to their God and Savior. And Jesus will be KING over all the earth, and David raised up to be king of Israel for ever; and Jerusalem the capitol of the world.
This is how I understand the Scriptures.

Very busy. Contractor finished the work for in the sunroom at noon. Then Sherry and I got to cleaning. Lots of dust in living room and dust and joint compound in the tracks and on frames of the new windows and sliding glass doors.
Have to purchase 5 sets of faux oak wood plantation style blinds for sunroom and install them.
Found out I have a red oak hardwood floor under the living room carpet. After consulting people have decided not to try and reuse it. Nail holes from tack strips, shrinkage of planks leaving gaps, cold floor without vapor barrier, etc.
Bought 20 plastic totes to store stuff in. Got to select the vinyl plank footing that will be used in sunroom and living room. All the same throughout.
Once sunroom floor is done, move living room furniture into sunroom and start working on living room. Remove all the oak trim and baseboards to reinstall after painting of ceiling and walls. Remove cheap 1/4 round trim around ceiling and buy red oak crown molding which must be stained to match existing and installed.
After painting is done tear up carpet. Install vapor barrier sheeting. Screw down 1/4” luan floor underlayment. Install vinyl planking. Install new prehung doors with antique brass hardware and lever type latches. Reinstall all trim and baseboard after thorough cleaning with Murphy’s oil soap.
Then it’s on to a shower in the smaller bathroom and a complete remodel of the larger bathroom.
Rah, what direction does your sunroom face ? Is there 3 walls of full windows? What is the roof overhang in inches? Is this a hip roof?

There are places where that graph looks in sync, but really isn’t, and places where it doesn’t even look in sync.
Well, based on the three year running total, updated monthly, (Why do scientists choose these oddball ways of looking at things?) , which is rapidly climbing, next year will be worse than this year, but looking at past rapid climbs, they often get broken up, so next year could be the same as this year with the climb resuming later.
BTW, a three year running average is the three year running total divided by years. So the two have the same structure. But one would never include today on such an average because today’s average requires knowing the future. Yes. We only know the three year average for one and a half years ago.
This particular oddball way of looking at the data is fudging out a time shift. Should the graphs be out of phase? What does it mean to have a hidden one and a half year’s delay between sunspot numbers and hurricane numbers. He should plot sunspots with the same oddball way of shifting the time, or plot hurricane data without it.
Someone else plotted ocean temperature vs the inverse of the Sun’s magnetic field strength, and the two plots were pretty identical if he cranked in a 2.4 year lag time between the two (Sun earlier). Can’t find it in 2 minutes in huge numbers of files. He was a data analyst in his day job and used to crunching data sets. It was pretty convincing.

Mary Tyler Moore
(1936-2017)
Mary Tyler Moore died at the age of 80 and was memorialized around the world as no less than a comedic and feminist icon for her work on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. But she was never recognized for what she really set out to do in show business: dancing and singing. “To this day, beneath the exterior of a successful actor beats the heart of a failed dancer,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2004. She began her career as the dancing elf Happy Hotpoint in 1950s commercials for home appliance company Hotpoint.
From there, she became an actress and turned out to be a monster comedic and dramatic talent. Despite her seven Emmys, one Tony (for a dramatic role in Whose Life Is It Anyway?), and one Oscar nomination (for Ordinary People), she kept trying to return to her musical roots. Here, look back at some of the best moments from Moore’s musical career — she may not have won awards for it, but she always looked overjoyed to be doing it.
MTM was phenomenal in Ordination People. Her portrayal of a stilted mother was riveting.
Her only son committed suicide, a terrible tragedy.
Her role in Ordinary People was perfection. As I was watching, I forgot that she was MTM. That’s how superb she was.
In fact that movie and all the acting was a masterclass in all its elements.
Glad she lived to see Pres Trump as President. She was a conservative.

As workers for God, we have to learn to make room for God – to give God “elbow room.” We calculate and estimate, and say that this and that will happen, and we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses. Would we be surprised if God came into our meeting or into our preaching in a way, we had never looked for Him to come? Do not look for God to come in any particular way but LOOK FOR HIM. This is the way to make room for Him. Expect Him to come, but do not expect Him only in a certain way. However much we may know God, the great lesson to learn is that at any minute He may break in. We are apt to overlook this element of surprise, yet God never works in any other way. All of a sudden God meets the life – “When it was the good pleasure of God…”
Keep your life so constant in its contact with God that His surprising power may break out on the right hand and on the left. Always be in a state of expectancy and see that you leave room for God to come in as He likes.

only briefly followed this story, but over in the UK the piano in the mall player was told by some Chinese tourists waving CCP flags that the people filming on their phones the piano player had to stop, it was illegal, the Chinese even called the police to have the piano player arrested.

I was wondering if anyone is aware of other political blogs like Conservative Treehouse but focusing on other countries. I think it would be interesting to gain a bit of perspective on happenings there (e.g. the UK, Hungary, Italy, Poland. Russia would be interesting actually) but obviously the BBC and whatnot is going to be pushing some sort of narrative. I’m not trying to replace the Conservative Treehouse, just trying to expose myself to more information.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
