My only, dearly departed brother’s FIRST HS Musical was Oklahoma … but since he had a voice for dancing … he was a dancing cowboy … Hahahahaha … he wouldn’t mind the playful ribbing.
It always amazes me how movies can make us think that people singing in the middle of nowhere sound like they are belting the song out in a well designed recording room.
Movie magic … having been a “sound engineer” @ karaoke for just shy of 10 years, it is easy for me to spot in everything.
The recording studio audio has been dubbed in since … um …. live television stopped airing.
Actors getting their voice totally replaced in a movie cause someone in management didn’t like it. Pretty sure that happened more frequently than ever known. (Hocus Pocus – Sean Murray (Tim NCIS) was rather vocal about it)
It is listed under “additional voices” credits nowadays … they just don’t say replacement for who. Long ago the voice actor or singer as the case may be never even got credit & was “secret”, as the obit of one woman from the 50’s / 60’s “ghost voice” comes around yearly.
“Oliver!” (Mark Lester) was not a singer, I’m not real sure any of his real voice was ever used in the movie.
Occasionally, live sound is used but not often. Pretty much never for a music video.
Just recently somebody posted the real singing of the actor who played the dad in the sound of music.
Sounded pretty good to me, and realistic. He was even acting that he was hesitant and becoming more confidant.
No idea why they voiced over him.

One of the things about this world is that hatred is carefully maintained and passed on so that it continues long after those involved are dead and gone. Often leading to yet more hateful acts being conducted by those who were never victims against those who were never victimizers.
It is Obama’s whole reason to be. The world has been harmed very much because he acted on his hatreds. Here at home. In the Middle East. Etc.
But one sticks out as totally unanchored in any experience of his. His hatred of Churchill. His Nigerian father never stuck around to teach him Nigerian hatreds. He lived in Indonesia and America, not Nigeria.
Yet he chooses to hate Churchill.

I guess I’m old-enough to wax nostalgic about that amazing toy company … having straddled the heyday and implosion of Gilbert’s company. My one brother and I spent hours building structures with our erector set, and we had a Gilbert chemistry set, and a Gilbert microscope. Our alcoholic father did have an appreciation for American-made products … many of which he grew up with as a child. But we never had an AF train set … instead opting for the much smaller HO scale. But $84.00 for a train set in 1957 was pretty spendy too … so there’s that.

Chemistry set – are you joking!? Kids could die from eating the evil … ewwww … forever chemicals
Microscope – don’t be silly … those glass slides can shatter, cutting your child up like a ginsu knife
Doesn’t really matter as kids are all playing with “virtual reality” goggles and learning from AI bots. We’ve gone from steel and die-cast reality … to cheap Chinese imitation crap … to the unreality of a make-believe universe. No wonder we’ve abandoned God. It’s only a matter of time now …
To think, my dad used to make lead soldiers by melting the lead and pouring it into molds.
He also would smack bullets with a hammer and made and played with zip guns.
And played with mercury from thermometers.
Mom used to hate his telling us those stories. Warned us not to tempt fate.
Surprised we are still allowed to buy Leggos, stepped on one of those caltrops on the karaoke stage someone’s kid had left behind a couple weeks ago, not exactly comfortable through a shoe even.

I participated a lot in discussion this weekend. It felt good. The MAGA train is a comfortable and hopeful ride. The CTH branches are good to sit on and rest and prepare for battle. I am buried again. This medical Industrial environment is insane. It is chewing up good peoples lives who are in health care: physicians, nurses. Helpless sick people cannot get what they want in a sea of overwhelming excellent technology.
But the moneychanger Insurance Industry and large hospital systems see everything as an opportunity for profit and control and have no regard for patient lives or healthcare workers lives or ethics.
There is a large number of dependent irresponsible people who think the government, their employers, and the rest of the world should fix their broken bodies and lives no matter how irresponsible they are.
The system is broken, ineffective, and will soon start collapsing in a big way. There will be no effective physicians. Nurse practitioners and young health care employees who have no idea what they don’t know. The level of incompetence they are participating in staggers the mind compared to what is possible and used to be.
Everything easily recognizable and good in healthcare has irrationally high sticker prices that no one can afford. Sharks and grifters abound. Snake oil masquerading as scientifically sound abounds.
And I am pulled more and more away from the people I love, trying to care for patients (who are family, friends, and humans I have grown to love) whom I am less and less effective with due to the insanity of rules, regulations, documentation requirements, distractions and red tape.
But not even MAGA talks about health care.

Since returning to CTH I have debated whether or not to share certain outside-of-the-mainstream ‘controversial’ information that could very well restore health to many who are suffering with all sorts of health problems, even ‘incurable’ ones.

Health is another form of wealth, as the years go by, more and more I hear others talking about how if they had known they would live this long they would have taken better care of them selves. The recent passing of my close friend Bill being a real eye opener, we used to joke while we drank and smoked together about when he died they would open him up and say “yep, that’s what killed him” and in the end he lost patience with the hospitals/ medical care he was given. It wasn’t the systems fault that he had done too much damage over the years, he wasn’t a religious man but even in the end he called out to God for help.
I am still working…at 66, in the ICU, and seeing some patients much younger than me looking like they are very old. Am not rich…but do have much, and health, to be thankful for.
Most of all y’all know I lost a dear, dear friend from High School, last December. His course started about a year, maybe a little bit more than a year but close…a year before he passed…He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes….then he had the kidney failure and dialysis…then his circulation started to fail….had great toe wound which morphed into a bone infection which could not be cured…lost his leg…bumped the remaining leg…developed an incurable wound…lost the other leg…then a few fingers…and then dead. All in the realm of a year…
Get right with the Almighty…health is wealth. And you never know for how long you will have it. My friend was also a very devout Christian….

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
