Great album, there was actually a musical production of it playing in Las Vegas for a bit, planned to go but it has been shut down there because I believe copywrite issues, would have been great as well!

Took me back to Jim Steinham the producer who also helped create the sounds for Bonnie Tyler “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and to one of my favorite all time movies “Streets of Fire” a Walter Hill film as well.

Biography: Jamesetta was the product of a broken home, and found solace in song. First as a member of her church choir, and then bitten by the doo-wop bug. As a teenager, she was discovered and championed by bandleader and impresario Johnny Otis. Otis suggested the stage name of Etta James and produced her early hit “The Wallflower” with her girl group, The Peaches.

James went on to a solo career with smash cross-over hit “At Last”. She continued recording R&B and blues music, although hampered by the instability caused by substance abuse and addiction, she recorded memorable tunes such as “Tell Mama”, “I’d Rather Be Blind”, and “Something’s Got A Hold of Me”.

God’s Morning, Aggiegirl and linwik,

Where we are located in Central Indiana, we are just outside the lake effect snow region. About 2 1/2 to 3 hours from southeast of Chicago, so we do not experience the snow dump. We have an interesting “divergence” zone, rather than convergence, that seems to break apart weather systems just over our heads. It then hits those NE and to the SE of us.

Rah will surely speak further as to what he’s witnessing, if he hasn’t already. He’s NE of us about an hour or so away… so his experience may be a bit different. He is sure good at interpreting Joe Bastardi’s weather forecast isn’t he? Thanks for all you do for us all, Rob.

I’m here. Mark me “present”. Just not posting lately. Lots going on and not much good to say, which tends to muddy the water of this clear and pristine pond by our Tree. The study of Job has not been a good experience for me. It has swirled up much bitterness and has caused me to pull back on prayers.

If you can imagine being head over heels in love with God? Thinking about Him morning, noon, and night. He’s the first thought that comes to mind upon waking. Last thought of the day before retiring. Including Him in every detail and nuance of my life; even in the minutiae with what clothing to wear on any given day. Through my entire 50 years, He Has always been my only stalwart companion. My. Only. One.

No family to speak of, parents long dead, half siblings from mom’s former marriage who we have no relation or even comparison with. Liberals. Highly educated. Highly accomplished. Very cerebral. One, who invokes my dead mother using witchcraft and medians. We have nothing to do with those crazy people. We protect our peace at all costs. At. All. Costs.

We have a very unique name – and if that name exists – it is our kin. We are a very unique remnant with a deep historical lineage, though there is some obscurity as it pertains to my father. So, truly, we could have no heritage at all! I did not find out until pregnant at 32 years old. We would only know if we offered our DNA to a lineage database… and we would never do that. There is mystery, but what of it? Would any real knowledge change our circumstances? Not likely. Not pursued.

My daughter and me, we are a new root.

I am tired physically and mentally to the breaking point. It is really hard for me to witness, and be surrounded by, such evil in the world. I’ve beaten it back for years. Fought. Railed against it. Rebuked it. Cast it to the pits of hell in Jesus’s Name. Given up fortune and acclaim in exchange for my faith and beliefs. Sometimes wondering if I regret that, especially during really tough times.

Our latest, that I am sharing only because of Menagerie’s posting yesterday in which I read of a church deacon chided for not sharing his threat of leukemia diagnosis with his church brethren (couldn’t get through all of that thread… it was too hard to read for me):

• Daughter slipped off the bus on Tuesday. She sprained her ankle, but was able to walk and bear weight. It bruised up pretty good and is swollen. Took her to Ortho Indy and there is a small bone protrusion at the base of her fibula that appears broken. She is in a boot and we go back in 2 weeks to check her progress with an ortho surgeon.

• A “friend” who gained my trust and took advantage of my kindness ripped off my company for services we performed and she didn’t pay her bill. She is wealthy, very entitled, and claims being a Christian and now she’s revealed her true self. I feel inclined to pick up and pay for her bill because it is not my company’s fault that I befriended this horrible person. I will not tell my boss when I pay for it. I will just clear her sin towards my company because I feel partially responsible allowing her to rack up the expense in good faith. I will not send her to collections and will just release the evil she inflicted. She will have to reconcile herself and her behavior with God. I gave her my handyman, too, which makes me very nervous that she’s taking advantage of him, too. He’s a good and honorable man. Single father of two small children. I’ve warned him what I could to make certain he is paid an honest wage for his work. I hate that I’ve possibly hurt him with my referral to her.

• I have been trying to leave my present job because I don’t trust who I am surrounded by and these last 6 years have worn me down. We are finally making some headway with changes, but its success hinges on our ability to retain our technicians and the management is too skilled at running them off. It is very stressful. People leave slamming the door at my company and the owner is a hustler who falls for every get-rich-quick scheme. He’s impatient at acquiring wealth, often at everyone else’s expense in health and body. I’ve stayed because my job is autonomous for the most part and it lent me flexibility to tend to daughter’s needs. It has come at an extreme cost due to slavery to Obamacare which relates to the loss of our home and her father’s court case against us.

• I had an opportunity for the 2nd time with the same employer in two years. It was with a church I admired and had connections to through my deceased dear friend. Admittedly, I thought it would be my “respite”, my “hiding place”, my “shelter”, my possible new “church family”. I thought it would be deliverance and to be able to use my occupational talents and go to and attend church every day. Seemed like Heaven to me. It hurt. I am not naive though, and know the Lord has His reasons. It could have just ended up another disappointment, but I had built up my courage to go out on a limb and try for it. Safety, security, and flexibility are a big deal for a single parent, so it is terrifying for me to take risks now. Especially now. I was ready to go, but I’ve no experience with non-profits. Nothing I can’t learn, but for the second time I was denied for someone they feel who is better qualified. I guess I will hear from them again in another two years.

• Daughter is failing high school. Has a 1.9 / 4.0. (I’ve posted here she used to be on their prestigious Social Studies Academic Team, but she quit in protest because of them discriminating against her Christian faith. They are making a clear, passive-aggressive threat that “THEY are in charge of her future academic success or failure” – which, of course, we protest against. I could “help raise her grade” if I agreed to pay $250 / course for summer school. Why in God’s green earth would I subject my daughter to more of their filth??? If my daughter can fly a Cessna airplane – she can do anything she sets her mind to. However, she has disconnected from her love of learning and she cannot pass tests, of any kind. It’s like whipping a battered mule to get her to drive a car, but I am constantly trying to remind her that driving gives her freedom in case something should happen to me. She is happy at her job and frankly she’ll learn more about life at her job than she will from that no-good school. A pestilence on these people who have seen fit to dumb down our kids and destroy their education. I’ve SOMEHOW got to get her to pass the driving written exam and not bust our budget with drivers education courses at $400 to $600 a pop!

• She must get her high school diploma which floors me they would still give out given her grades. She needs her diploma to apply for jobs and I cannot homeschool her for I am only one person. I’m sure the school will find a way to strip her diploma from her, too, as they are maneuvering. This time exerting pressure because I refuse to allow them to report her vax status to CHIRPS which is handled through her doctor anyway. The school wants the authority to give her vax record to anyone they want to… because, you know, they have usurped us as these kids’ parents. I cannot even read an email from the school anymore without signing in to one of their THREE informational systems with user id and password. They purposefully build walls between the parents and students and isolate and obfuscate. They want us parents to know “they” are in charge!

• Now that college seems completely unattainable, and 10 years of expensive private education is down the toilet, my daughter wants to honor our family heritage and our country and join the military. Possibly serving a regime who will not honor our Constitution, will likely inject her with poisons, and which she will fight with all of her Spiritual might to push back against our enemies foreign and domestic. I know I can’t stop her and she is looking at it as a way to eventually pay for college – achieve some independence – learn to shoot guns – gain physical and mental resilience – until our regime finds further ways to strip our honorable service members of their benefits that they trade for squalor pay and risk to life and limb. I can’t stop her and I totally “get” and respect what she’s doing. I have persuaded her to wait until the November election and to finish high school in May 2025. Please God bring Trump back and help him to repair our government, convict and put asunder the organized crime syndicate. I pray this in Jesus’s Name not just for my own selfish request, but for the safety and perpetuity and order of our Republic and its faithful citizenry. Oh, that He would now allow us to be destroyed for the remnant herein!

• Now the “if anything should happen to me” part referenced in the need for daughter to drive. We have medical appointments with our wonderful, direct pay, functional medicine practitioner January 30th. My blood work is a mess. Since 9/2021 – long Covid symptoms persist. Lung damage. Sleeplessness. The blood markers indicate that I’m having trouble delivering oxygen to my organs and I am in a very, very high risk for stroke. My thyroid is a mess despite being treated for Hypothyroidism since Savannah’s birth. I am grateful that I have detailed blood work benchmarks to mark the changes. I am still exhibiting bouts of Parosmia – the smell of burning flesh and smoke (and not the good campfire kind) – it is like cigarettes and sulphur – and it repulses me. Still on the Omega-3, NAC, Vitamin D, Armour Thyrooid, and Low Dose Naltrexone regimen. We did not take any of the jabs, but were treated with Regeneron Monoclonal Antibody where we were intravenously infused with “something”. We can’t let our minds linger too much on that – because what’s done is done.

• Lastly, my daughter’s biological father – his genetics company out of Seattle was acquired by Pfizer. As much as I carry hate for the man who harmed my daughter and made us lose our home for his gain of $30 per month in child support adjustment (being an incredibly wealthy individual) – I still pray for the man. I still pray for his deliverance and the turning of his heart towards his only daughter. He does not speak to me, nor does he ever place his daughter as even a remote priority in his life. (Which could be a blessing in its own way as his narcissism in his present state would destroy her. As long as he embraces evil… distance is a good thing.) She is a good, good human. She is in balance mentally and physically and aware of all that is occurring. She loves The Lord and trusts God. She wants nothing to do with her father and has set a boundary for her own self-preservation. However, he sent an email with the health insurance cards and seeing Pfizer on the signatory line awakened in me a fury for what satan has taken from us… over and over again. The leader of his company that was acquired for $45 billion is an awful, detestable excuse for a human being. A disgusting filthy demonic figure, and that is who her father’s wagon and financial success is hitched to. Now our devil is employed by the devil. It is the source of great sadness for me.

So there you have it. In the midst of the morning teas, French macaron cookies, beautiful prayers, hopefulness, faith, and push against darkness… there is suffering. We all have it. With unrequited love. Prodigal family members. Seeing clearly the evil before us. Trying to control us. Trying to destroy us. Looking in disbelief at those who fail to see it. (Cannot even fathom those people.) Or, worse yet, to look upon those who are perfectly comfortable with good, honorable, people dying as long as their life raft is intact.

How do we pray for our enemies?

For me, I have to lay them down at the foot of the Cross and say “Thy Will be done”.

Finished watching “1883” and reflecting on my own “Oregon Trail”. It’s been a really super hard journey, but I have had peaks and valleys that you couldn’t imagine. My peaks were really high and the view from up there was glorious. The valleys have been low and I have walked through those depths. Psalm 139 is our family verse adopted at my daughters conception for a reason. It speaks of our journey. We have been witness to, and recipients of, God’s miracles. We know He exists.

I don’t take kindly to watching those who take for granted their blessings of family, spouses, parents, togetherness… for they have no inkling the journey in life without any of those things or how hard it is to exclusively rely on an ethereal and untouchable God. They dismiss my sadness and see it as faithlessness, rejection of God, or elevation of my self ego and pridefulness. What more can I do, but lay down in a ditch, tear my clothes, and wait to die? There is no protest.

They have no idea of my faith I have grasped and clung to. I can’t quite explain it and I am not sure I’ll effectively put it into words for you, but I believe that just like clinging to that life raft in a raging river with the utter fear of hypothermia, thrashing, and drowning, there is possibly deliverance in just loosening the grip and letting God be God. It is for Him to save and surrender. I don’t mean GOD surrenders – I mean, we do.

I know He Has A Purpose for it all and can we TRUST HIM in all things… good and bad?

I am resigned to believe that my Lord’s Promise to me, Hebrews 11:11, will be fulfilled through my daughter. I have stopped asking for my behalf now. I am too tired from the “no”, the “not yet”, and the “not ever”. There is no such thing as unanswered prayers. They are all answered, just not in the answers we want to hear.

Our futures are certain, though. We will meet our Maker when our races are won and He Will have final say. His relationship and mine is very intimate and He knows I am angry at the circumstances. Not that my anger matters one wit. He knows I would do anything He asks of me, if He would just make it clear to me.

Friends, this may sound prideful… but I do not want pity, sympathy, or to be coddled. We are ALL fighting battles Spiritually and physically. I am no different from anyone else.

I have the book our beautiful Betsy mentioned “A Grief Observed” by C.S. Lewis. Finally, I have some time this morning that I can read it.

My apartment is clean, my daughter fed and warmly clothed, she is warm and dry, and her foot is tended. My company job is in order and we are close to begin season with whatever nonsense lurks beneath. My job is clear in its definition and I will be there to do what needs doing when the boss leaves the country in February on his family’s vacation.

I do not look to the future. I do not look past this very moment.

It’s anyone’s guess how this tangible world is going to go.

Please forgive my long-winded stories. We are “living life in reality” people. Reality SUCKS right now and I can’t poop skittles and rainbows.

We look forward to our MercyMe and Newsboys concert in April and to our trip to St. Louis in September, which the latter is a bucket list journey. Billy Joel and Sting and staying in a nice hotel across the street for the weekend. Heading to a nice cathedral for church that Sunday. A nice tangible event to look forward to. Let’s hope Rome doesn’t burn before then – we know too well the odds, though. I am trying to make pleasing memories for my daughter, while I still can. (It took me 3 hours to write this. Shaking my head.)

I have a square cast iron skillet, but it is super seasoned, so it might leave burn marks on the bottom. Please, how does he bake it and at what temperature and duration?

I always put flaxseed on the bottom of the skillet when I make cornbread. It adds a nice nutty taste.

We have found that an enamel stays much cleaner with a ceiling fan. Plus we want maximin light to brighten up our living room.

You’re correct though that ceiling white is flat. So we bought wall paint.

I hope this encourages more European farmers to do the same, and make this a protest demonstration that says with great strength, We Will Not Back Down!
