Ever attentive Little ‘Tink stayed with me this morning until I “officially” arose at about 10:30. Sleepin’ late never felt so good.
‘Tink is such a great little kitty. She’s now learning words. She perks up when she hears “outside” or “food”. Of course when I first woke up about 5am I found that she’d curled up on my shoulder and was keeping us both warm. When I quietly said “Nice kitty” I got a charming little return “purr” from her.
She was a very nice, even if feral, kitten but now that she’s decided she’s actually a c-a-t, she’s an even better kitty.
Awwww… aren’t we all a little “feral” sometimes, but with kindness and warmth… we can be tamed?

Nothing can top the Harlequin Duck, but the Common Goldeneye is quite majestic. The picture really does not give it its just due. A male and 2 females showed up in my area a few years ago for 2 years in a row in the same large pond, but the area got more housing and a paved path around the pond which made it unattractive to most species. I’ve had numerous locations get ruined for similar reasons. More people, less wildlife habitat. The only duck migrants I have seen so far this winter and that are really somewhat common here are Hooded Mergansers.

The following will give you a good idea of what’s going on without opinions. Those are IDF statistics not including civilians. It was true about five days ago. Remember that Israel has about 7 million Jews and the US is about 333 million. So if you translated those numbers to the US it would be 47.6 times more in the US. So if we had about 1,400 dead in 10/7 it would compare to 66,640 Americans proportionally.

Number of terrorists dead:
About 9,000.
Terrorists at a level of Brigade Commanders -2
Terrorists at a Battalion Commander level – 19.
Terrorist dead at the North border with Lebanon – about 170.
North Gaza:
Commander of the North Gaza Brigade, Achmad Anjur, responsible for all the fightings at North Gaza. One of the planners and commanders of the 7/10 terror attack.
Also the Battalion commanders of three main cities in the North were killed.
Central Gaza:
Iman Gufel, The Commander of the Central Gaza Brigade was killed. He was amongst the higher commanders and considered very high in Hamas and was very close to the big bosses of Hamas.

-Hamas released a psychological video with three Israeli hostages. One of them is the young lady that was abducted at the Nova festival on motorcycle. A known video.

-Blinken, Biden, Macron all making statements they will do everything to release the hostages now that it is 100 days in captivity.
-Israeli soccer player in Turkey arrested for incitement for dedicating a goal for the hostages.
-US unidentified reports from the White House about “Bibi is annoying Biden and refuses everything. Telling ‘no’ to reducing the war and ‘no’ to returning Gazans to North Gaza and ‘no’ to dealing with the Day After proposal to have an ‘improved Palestinian Authority’ take over Gaza.” Saying that Biden is losing votes with his base for Israel and is getting fed up with Bibi.
-Hezbollah managed to kill two civilians, a mother and her adult son with an anti tank missile.
Wide counter attacks in Lebanon.
-3 terrorists managed to cross the border from Lebanon towards an IDF base and got killed in a fight. Mild and medium injuries to a few soldiers. It was a foggy day and hard to see.
-Qatar managed to get an agreement from Hamas to provide medications to hostages in exchange for some medications to Gaza.
-Dispute in the Small War Cabinet between Bibi and his Defense Minister who are more right wing than the two additional members of Cabinet who joined from the more Liberal center side of politics, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eizenkot. The last two are pushing to agree to a hostage release deal even if the war has to stop for now because the hostages will have a hard time to survive. The idea is to finish the war later. Bibi and Gallant are against it.
The Small Cabinet has : The Prime Minister (Bibi), Defense Minister (Gallant), temporary coalition member Beni Gantz and two observers, Gadi Eizenkot (close to Gantz) and
Ron Dermer(close to Bibi). So Bibi does have a majority.
Note: In my opinion Hamas will not do a deal and give all the hostages because they need some as an “insurance policy”. Therefore the only way to succeed is to get then surrounded and give them a deal for a flight to Qatar or another Arab country. The Mossad will close the deal later.

I watched the entire Laurel Canyon documentary recommended by Nimrodman … and learned that The Monkees Mickey Dolenz house in the canyon was a hangout for surprisingly … John Lennon and Harry Nilsson. Nilsson actually wrote a song for The Monkees … Cuddly Toy. The canyon was the heart of late 1960’s rock music … and silly TV pop tunes.

Biography: Born in the Bedford–Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, and raised in a broken home, Harry dropped out of school a moved to Los Angeles. He found work programming computers for a bank at night, and pursued a singing career by day. He possessed a wide vocal range, and fell into songwriting when improvising forgotten lyrics.
After working on demo recordings and releasing a few singles, and having The Monkees cover his song “Cuddly Toy”, he signed a major label contract with RCA and resigned from the bank. His early RCA albums were critical, if not commercial, successes, and caught the ear of Beatles press agent Derek Taylor. Soon after, Paul McCartney and John Lennon endorsed his work, and his career took off.
He did not enjoy performing, and never toured. Part of his recording process involved multi-tracking his own voice in a choral fashion, which could not be replicated on stage.
His biggest hit singles, both of which won Grammy Awards, were cover versions – Fred Neil’s “Everbody’s Talkin'” (from the film Midnight Cowboy) and Badfinger’s “Without You” (on his career defining album Nilsson Schmilsson). As a songwriter, his biggest hit was by Three Dog Night covering “One”.
The follow up work to his biggest success was decidedly less commercial, the album Son of Schmilsson contained lyrics not suitable for broadcast, and then he made an orchestral album of torch song standards (A Touch of Schmilsson in the Night). His increased drink and drug usage began affecting him, and culminated with him working through severely injured vocal chords on his Pussycats album, produced by John Lennon during his notorious ‘lost weekend’ in Los Angeles.
After Lennon’s murder, Nilsson largely stopped making new music and became a gun control advocate. His musical output was mostly concentrated on film soundtracks.
In 1976, he married for his third time, to an Una O’Keefe, an Irish woman who was a student-waitress when they met at an ice cream parlor in New York City in 1973. With her, he had 6 of his 7 children.
Bankruptcy and a 1993 heart attack motivated him to get back to recording in order to support his family. He was working on an album when a second heart attack in 1994 ended his life. 25 years later, his finished vocals were given some backing music, and the album “Losst and Founnd” was released.

Biography: Dolores O’Riordan was an Irish singer and songwriter, best known as lead vocalist and lyricist for the Cranberries. The band earned worldwide fame with their hit single, “Zombie,” in 1994. The song was inspired by the Troubles, the conflict in Northern Ireland from the late 1960s to 1998, in which more than 3,500 people were killed.
The Cranberries released a total of eight studio albums, first coming to fame in 1993 with their debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? They followed this with No Need to Argue, which featured “Zombie” and was their best-selling album. O’Riordan also released two solo albums, one in 2007 and the other in 2009.

IWI – Israeli Weapon Industries had a very good Light Machine gun that could be used on auto and semi-auto (single rounds) which is not common in this kind of weapon. It has low recoil too that is unusual for this kind. Now they improved its ability to function in sand and bad weather and changed the rounds from 5.56 to 7.62 which makes it go through walls and some concrete. This is a killer and it was pushed in the last couple of months to all the fighting units in Gaza. Quite a lot of them. See video. It’s short, only 3 min video but nice.

Have you ever heard the term “educated fools”? It does not matter how much you know if you do not know how to apply that knowledge. James says to not only hear the word but do it (James 1:22). In today’s verse, wisdom is shown by actions and a humble attitude.
True humility and wisdom recognize the infinite power, might, and wisdom of God and the weakness of humans. God appears to take pleasure in sidestepping the wisdom of man. “Jesus declared, ‘I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father for such was your gracious will’” (Matthew 11:25-26).
Paul elaborates, “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. … But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise: God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong” (1 Corinthians 1:25, 27).
Acknowledge the fact that you need God’s wisdom and when you receive it, humbly apply it to your life. Ask the Lord to open the eyes of citizens and elected officials of the United States to the need for godly wisdom and actions.
Pray for the decision-makers who are determining foreign and domestic policy to be guided by God’s wisdom. Pray for peace and unity in this country, especially in the Church, and that the Lord would use the United States to bring peace to the nations currently at war.

Elisabeth Elliot (1926-2015), Christian author and speaker, was an amazing woman, mastered by God and devoted to Jesus Christ.
Her first husband, Jim Elliot, was killed in 1956 while attempting to make missionary contact with the Auca people. She later spent two years as a missionary to the tribe members who killed her husband. Returning to the U.S. after many years in South America, Elisabeth became widely known through her ministry of writing and speaking, till in her seventies.
I am deeply indebted to Miss Elisabeth for her Christian mentoring in my life, as many others are. Her daily radio broadcasts, “Gateway to Joy,” are still available today, including other spiritual resources on her website (aka treasure chest).

Such a dilemma- which one outweighs the other?
This past fall, I began listening again to Elisabeth’s Gateway to Joy program on her website.
A topic of special interest for me is: Growing Old.
It’s been so inspiring since that’s what I am now!
And, I like that the broadcasts are about 10-12 minutes.
At the end of Miss Elisabeth’s life, she suffered for ten years with dementia. It’s so sad that she lost her most precious gift – her brilliant mind and beautiful voice.
But the good news – she never lost faith in Christ till her death.
I need to pay attention to these spiritual giants, in hope that my life will mimic a fraction of theirs!

It is -6 here at my Indiana home. As usual, 4 degrees colder than the model generated forecast on my phone.
The kitchen plumbing is on an outside wall so we open the cabinets below the sink and run a trickle through the faucet on nights when it can get this cold.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

The guys have all the dry wall up in the sunroom. They have a thermostat controlled heater in there and are muddying in the drywall today.
Then they have to wait for the mud to dry to sand it. They are doing all of that before they open the passage to the living room so we don’t get the dust.
So three days before they open the sunroom to the living room.

We put a conservatory on the end of our 1869 Welsh home when we lived there. It meant knocking a hole through the kitchen. Our farmer neighbour’s son did the grunt work with that (9″ inch cavity wall); but then Chris did the rest. Dug the trenches, laid the concrete, built the hip wall, put the frame up and installed the rest to perfection. Took about 4 weeks and transformed our home.
I hope you get as much pleasure out of your remodel as we did 💕

Here on the Central Oregon Coast global warming is in full swing. Our electric went out Saturday. Electric lines coated with 1//2 inch ice. All super markets in town closed for lack of power. Roads covered with thick ice. Hundreds of Ice covered trees fallen across main roads. Sunshine today makes the ice trees sparkle. Ancient coast pine trees uprooted brought down by that globally warmed ice. AND what’s more we have a gale coming through tonight.
