Scientists are pointing to lower energy coming from the sun for the very cold Winter and now cool summer in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as cooler than normal temperatures in various areas of the Northern Hemisphere last year.

Solar sun spots, etc have been recorded since the 1600’s in England. Other historic records also exist from other nations. Real solarphysicists (Maunder, Dalton, Zharkova) have studied these records and found the pattern of the sun’s cycles.
This is how we know that the sun is due for its “rest” cycle aka a “Minimum.” While there is debate as to when is the beginning and severity of this next rest cycle there is no doubt it will come. This is the extent of the solar weather predictions. We will not know for certain if we are in a Minimum until we are in it.
So here is my .02 regarding this:

There is spending on their own defense.
There is coordinating their defense with NATO. A grey zone that funnels normal defense spending into NATO weaponry.
There is money spent exercising with NATO.
There is money spent actually performing NATO operations.
And there has to be money given to NATO.
How does that breakdown?
And, how does the sum of the rest compare to America’s contribution? EU’s GDP is as big as ours isn’t it?
There is NO distinction between NATO and non-NATO expenditures. The NATO charter simply states a %GDP figure as NATO members are ALL-IN when committed. This is especially true for European Members as they have no other commitments than their own Security which EQUALS NATO.
As for GDP … US in 2023 was $23.32 Trillion and EU was $19.35 Trillion.

The FBI has asked a federal court for a second delay after being ordered to produce information from Seth Rich’s computer to a Texas resident, Brian Huddleston who has sued the bureau.
Huddleston says that the court should force the agency to produce the information before the 2024 presidential election, as it may show that Rich, not Russians, was Wikileaks’ source of leaked emails which were damaging to Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US election.
On Thursday, the FBI asked Obama-appointed US District Judge Amos Mazzant to reconsider their request not to produce the documents, and should be withheld under exemptions under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The filing was a response to Mazzant’s Nov. 2023 order to hand over images of Mr. Rich’s personal computer, as well as an index of his work computer.
It gets better; the FBI initially claimed that they didn’t have said records – only to later admit to being in possession of Rich’s personal and work computers, along with other items.
As if it wasn’t suspicious enough that the FBI is stonewalling on information related to a ‘mugging gone wrong.’

Thirty-seven states have so far changed their mail-in voting procedures this year in response to the Coronavirus. Despite frequent claims that President Trump’s warning about vote fraud/voting buying with mail-in ballots is “baselessly” or “without evidence” about mail-in vote fraud, there are numerous examples of vote fraud and vote buying with mail-in ballots in the United States and across the world. Indeed, concerns over vote fraud and vote buying with mail-in ballots causes the vast majority of countries to ban mail-in voting unless the citizen is living abroad.
There are fraud problems with mail-in absentee ballots but the problems with universal mail-in ballots are much more significant. Still most countries ban even absentee ballots for people living in their countries.
Most developed countries ban absentee ballots unless the citizen is living abroad or require Photo-IDs to obtain those ballots. Even higher percentages of European Union or other European countries ban absentee for in country voters. In addition, some countries that allow voting by mail for citizens living the country don’t allow it for everyone. For example, Japan and Poland have limited mail-in voting to those who have special certificates verifying that they are disabled.

Newly-installed Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has insisted that he won’t tolerate any kind of “anti-Ukrainian sentiment” in the ranks of his government.
Tusk claimed in an interview with TVN24 on Friday that in the run-up to last October’s election the right-wing Law and Justice Party (PiS) “tried to play an anti-Ukrainian note” to remain in power and that nothing of this kind will happen on his watch.
“I will never allow anyone in my government to build their position on some kind of anti-Ukrainian sentiment,” the pro-EU politician, who headed the Polish government between 2007 and 2014 and was president of the European Council from 2014 to 2019, vowed.
Kiev needs the backing of Warsaw and the entire West because “as long as Ukraine is fighting Russia, we are relatively safe,” he explained.
“There can be no doubts about… our involvement and the involvement of the entire Western world in support of Ukraine… Every Polish patriot must absolutely recognize these reasons,” Tusk stressed.

You’ll fail, but I would love to see this debate such as it is.
Let’s start: Boeing. An aircraft “door” (really a plug, but in a place where it can be a plug or a door) flies off in flight. Looking at the images posted by the passengers on social media and which got out basically immediately it is clear that at least two, and perhaps as many as four, bolts, nuts and cotters or safety wire were missing. This is really not in much dispute and wasn’t as soon as the door was found and not structurally “folded” — and the airframe portion where it is installed appears to be undamaged so we know that did not fail either. The frame of the door drops over two pins on the frame of the fuselage at the top on each side, the bottom two hinge points are vertical posts, the hinges are still there (so the bottom attachments to the hull are intact) and so are the pins on the side. Once over the pins a bolt is inserted from the rear with a nut and a cotter pin or safety wire on the front, so the bolt cannot back out — but with that bolt in there it is impossible for the plug to rise vertically and clear the pins because the bolt blocks it from moving, and thus it cannot come off. It may also be the case (not sure without being able to personally view the assembly) that the two retaining bolts on the bottom going through the pins on the hinge assemblies also prohibit vertical movement (in which case its four bolts, nuts and cotters that have to be missing.) Even if the torque on those four bolts is incorrect if the cotters or safety wires are installed there is no way for them to back off.
I like this design; it requires four separate ****-ups to come apart in flight and it appears that is exactly what happened. That is either wild-eyed gross-incompetence or deliberate, but whichever it is doesn’t matter because there are supposed to be cross-checks and sign-offs by both the original person who does the work and someone who checks it.
So how did it happen in the case of Alaska Air? At least two and perhaps four bolts, nuts and their safety wiring or cotter pin were left off when the plug was installed onto the frame of the aircraft. What’s worse is that United, when inspecting their similar aircraft after the first incident, has reported loose bolts on the lower hinge assemblies and some photos of those have circulated. Again everything has a torque spec in anything important on an aircraft (or in a car for that matter) and in an aircraft someone has to install it to specification and then it has to pass inspection, with both the person who did the installing and inspecting signing off on it. Obviously the inspecting is not happening and the installing is not being done competently which is not one failure it is two failures, sequentially, in the same place.
What happens when you start firing people who are skilled (and expensive) and replace them with people who are less-skilled (and cheaper)? This!
