Good morning Bet! Made it last night to where we had planned to stay in New Mexico. The hospital sent us with an oxygen tank for the driving and a concentrator that plugs in the wall for the hotel and for home. So we did ok, praise the Lord! The only problem for the last leg of the trip is that there is just a little left in the tank and it won’t last too long. However, we just did a little test and took Elizabeth off the oxygen for 5 minutes and if she takes deep breaths the levels stay where they need to be. So in a couple of hours we leave for the last 6:30-7 hours of the journey. ❤️😍

Believe me, I know…having watched Chris struggling for air during his awful health troubles last year. I KNOW!! Just get home safely, where she will have access to doctors you are familiar with. Sick away is not a good place to be. I hope you are feeling so much better, and also hope Nipper and his mother are not becoming ill…🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😘

The trumpeter is Rolf Smedvig who died far, far too soon. I had the great good fortune to hear him and Empire Brass when I lived in an East Texas town long ago. They came as part of a Community Concert series. I was blown away.
In the comment section of this BWV 142, a fellow student of Rolf’s said he would pass by a closet in their music building and hear him practicing..and then say to himself, “Why am I even here??”

In addition to dyslexia, I also have several other cognitive deficits, one of which is a short-term memory deficit.
I’ve had this problem my whole life and, while I have some adaptive strategies, I’m also very much aware of how age (I’m pushing 80) affects memory.
This can become acute when you also have learning disabilities. Not gonna’ piss and moan about this, although I am very much aware of the age versus memory versus LD dichotomy. Thanks again, Bet, for the timely back-up. 🙂

Afternoon, Bet. Fresh Bustelo and kitty snuggles get me going this morning. Just got back from my favorite local Tarueria. I observed something interesting. As is often the case, we were the only Anglos in a Sunday crowd that completely filled the space. When we first moved here, almost 60 years ago, you’d feel a little tension being the
only Anglos in a Mexican-American crowd. Nowadays, however, the absence of ethnocentrism is clearly evident. Being an Angle amonst Hispanics is simply not a big deal anymore.
A good thing. I bet Hispanics are just as worried about Texas being infiltrated with criminals and diseases on invitation of the reprobate government as we are. Something which should unite all in this state, no matter who we are.
Told my grands to become conversant in Spanish. They’re working on it.
Spanish is a beautiful language. My wife was a Spanish professor and was extremely fluent. Alas, I can’t say the same. I think what’s happened over several decades is 1. the Texas Hispanic population has become not only better educated but also 2. more cosmopolitan and modern.
I saw this happening every semester in my college classrooms. My students, most were the first in their families to go to college, became increasingly upwardly mobile over time. They expected becoming educated to provide them with the means to advance in society.
It was always gratifying to encounter former students in later years to find that they had, in fact, done well, had good careers and good families. Education proved to be a pathway to success in life . . .

Israel Update :
–An IDF Officer, an Infantry Colonel, was killed in Gaza. Another one was badly injured at the same location, North Gaza. The Officer was about to be promoted to a Battalion Commander. His name is Roie Mordechai and he was not supposed to be in Gaza on his assignment but insisted to enter the war.
The IDF lost 550 soldiers in this war and 176 since the ground invasion started.
2,336 were injured. 45 are still in hospitals in bad condition. 276 moderate injuries and 115 light injuries. May God bless his soul and heal the injured and families.
-Hezbollah attacked a strategic IDF base and filmed it. It is a base on a mountain
(Miron mountain) which has large radars and suppose to provide the IDF “eyes in the sky” and control over air traffic. The degree of the damage is not known and the actual role of the base is partly known. The video is edited to exaggerate the damage. They fired quite a few missiles and you see hits close to or at some domes. There are three large domes.
This base is 8 Km from the border. Hezbollah are saying that it is the “command and control of the Air Force” for the North of Israel. They say it’s “the eyes of the Air Force”. They called it “first response to the assassination in Beirut.”
Note: It was very hard to get good intel from the IDF but accidentally I ran into a comment by someone who I am sure was actually there. He said some things which I think are confidential and he shouldn’t have said them so I will skip. But he also said that they expected it and were in bunkers and there is one direct hit on a dome but they are still operational anyways.” (What counts is what’s under the dome and not the dome itself).
So there you go. I think I find answers that are not published. In the past Israel let them think that they injured soldiers just to satisfy their need for revenge and publicity.
-A battle in Jenin (West Bank “terror capital”). One Border Police soldier (woman) was killed, 3 wounded from an explosive device. 6 terrorists eliminated. One soldier is badly wounded, one moderate and one light. Note: In one of my social media groups there is daily footage from the West Bank. Whats going on there is scary. I have been following for over a year now. The IDF is entering to arrest terror members or actual killers and they used to get stoned very hard but their vehicles are well armored and we typically don’t shoot to kill people who throw stones unless there is a perceived risk to get killed or badly injured. Then I would see a lot of Molotov cocktails (improvised fire bombs), the armored vehicles wouldn’t catch the fire for more than a few seconds. Sometimes the soldiers would shoot to kill depending if it was doable. Now days I see shootings and explosives almost daily. I see the footage, Arabs are filming. I keep seeing miracles how the explosives barely miss the vehicles. It was predictable to kill sooner or later. Specially in Jenin and Shchem (two cities) it’s very bad and the nightly targeted arrests will not be enough. Specially that all those arrests will likely be released in a hostage exchange at some point. The IDF with Border Police will need to step it up somehow. Those areas are really close to the centers of Israel. It’s not like Gaza because we do operate there but I see funeral parades and they walk with rifles and are not even afraid to show off. Just like the neglect that we had in Gaza, the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) are a hidden explosive situation.
-An Israeli got shot and killed in his car in Binyamin settelment area in the West Bank.
It is likely a terror attack. He was 30 years old an Arab Israeli citizen.
-17 killed and possibly 50 injured in Kahan Yunis Gaza, an attack on a building.
Another 4 dead in a place they say was a building of UNRWA in central Gaza.
Note: that they are fighting from UNRWA and other civilian structures.
Note: the report on 17 dead and 50 injured is questionable as they are painting it as if most of them are children. I will mention that I just watched an interview with two ladies (a young lady and her mother) who returned home from captivity. At some point the young lady tried to say to herself that “some are good people”. She had to tell herself in order to keep her sanity, so she says. But right then they were in a school and the terrorists were firing missiles from the school and the people in the schools were all cheering and yelling Allah Akbur.
So she saw that there are no peaceful people over there.
-UNRWA: “Almost 90% of Gazans left their homes.” UNRWA is talking about food shortages and a disaster and a need for an immediate ceasefire.
-The Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards : “Teheran is about to get into a full scale battle with the enemy”. “We must defend our national interests everywhere.”
Note: It’s not clear if he referred to Israel, the US or both. I assume he meant Israel because a few days ago their Supreme Leader warned not to go into war with the US.
Note: They do have a history of threatening beyond what they actually do. But you never know.
-Trump said that Iran can produce a nuke in some 34 days. He mentioned that in his time Iran was poor and didn’t have enough money to provide Hezbollah and Hamas and now they are rich with some 250 billions. Note: I remember he mentioned this amount before in reference to the US letting them trade with no sanctions now. In his time companies who did business with Iran were banned from business with the US as far as I remember. Specifically oil and weapon business.
-Biden sent Mr.Amos Hochman to try to make a deal with Hezbollah to make them move back past the Litani River (about 5 Km, 3.1 Miles from the border). He just met the leaders of Israel. They all said that they want diplomacy but if that doesn’t work then there will be a military action. Israel is saying that without the move of Hezbollah away from the borders the evacuees will refuse to return home. So Israel have no choice but resolve it one way or another. Hochman thinks that after Israel transit to the Third phase in Gaza of raids rather than a full heavy war, it will be easier for Hezbollah to make agreements.
Concurrently the French are discussing with the Lebanese government about this subject. (France has a lot of business and presence in Lebanon).
The Foreign Minister of the European Union also arrived to Lebanon and spoke with Hezbollah and Lebanese government in an attempt to prevent a wide war.
But for today Israel killed another 6 terrorists and they, Hezbollah, now have a total of 153 dead.
-The Speaker of the IDF announced that we now have an “operational control over north Gaza”. Note: It is divided to “north” , “center” and “south”. There is a video today from the Speaker with a whole explanation of how many Brigades and battalions Hamas had and how all those Brigades had their commanders and the next echelon below all killed. It’s a real good video. I will try to find the time to translate and post. Basically when the Brigades lose their commanders and locations and many people and structure then he is calling it that we “have an operational control”. It doesn’t mean that there are no individual and small groups who can cause damage and fight. But as an organization they are crushed.
-Thousands of people in a demonstration in Tel Aviv to “Free the hostages”.
Some who returned from captivity spoke. Specifically one who met other hostages and said that she saw women who said they were sexually abused and are wounded with no proper care and men who were tortured.
-Hamas released a film of psychological war. It shows some four hostages speak and then mentioned that Israel killed them. Blaming Israel. The film is not available in Israel but I watched in social media. The three that Israel accidentally killed are speaking and another one who I don’t know how he got killed if he was?
-Blinken, Secretary of the State, is again in Israel. He said his goal is preventing the expansion of the war. He did signal some support of Israeli actions in the north.
“It’s important that Israelis will have security at the north. We want to make sure that nations around will use their influence to prevent escalation. It’s obvious that Israel doesn’t want escalation, they want to protect themselves.”
-IDF with Shabak (spy agency) assassinated a Battalion commander and his deputy of the Nusirat city. An airstrike. IDF is saying that the Nusirat Battalion was used for deploying some of the attacks on 10/7. Including Beeri Kibutz which was the worst massacre area.
-Bibi repeats his “we are not stopping” statement on TV.
-IDF reports massive”wide attacks at south Lebanon.” They say they attacked a couple of “significant assets” of Hezbollah. One was a surface to air battery area, also missile launching positions and command and control places were attacked.
-The balance so far between Hezbollah and Israel in three months:
Israel lost 5 civilians and 11 IDF soldiers/officers. The highest was a Deputy Commander of a Brigade. Hezbollah lost 152 terrorists. More than a third are from the elite commando unit of “Raduan Force”, two of those were Battalion commanders.
At the beginning Hezbollah deployed small groups to penetrated Israel but they got killed so they stopped with this. They shifted to anti tank missiles and rockets fired at Israel.
Most of their fire lands on open grounds. Tens percentages fall inside Lebanon.
Yet, so far they hit over 120 civilian buildings/homes. They also attacked electronic intelligence collection posts along the border. They also hit an important IDF base with heavy kind of rockets.
On the other side the damage caused by the IDF is not comparable. So far more than 600 infrastructure and structures that served the Hezbollah were attacked.
The IDF managed to damage badly all the infrastructure that Hezbollah had in order to serve for raids into Israel similar to 10/7: Command centers, gathering locations, launching positions, munition storages, defense and attack tunnels, etc…
Israel evacuated some 60,000 citizens, in Lebanon some 120,000 evacuated the border areas. Israel has a temporary solution to the evacuees and compensating them but holding them out of home is a win for Hezbollah. The IDF did push Hezbollah a few Kilometers off the border and ruined some infrastructure that took years to build. So far the Hezbollah was very carful not to extend the range of fire which is only a few mile radius. There are some Hamas there which violated the range and the IDF also expanded range in those cases.
The IDF wants them to be at least 5 Km (3.1Miles)away from the border. Even the Litani River is not always 5 km away. The IDF is ready for a land maneuver if and when the political level will approve.

Could you please clarify on the “domes?” Or provide footage of them so we understand to what you are referring.
I can find no data whatsoever about physical “domes.”
I can find info on the Iron Dome weapons systems, which is an anti-missile defensive intercept system against incoming missiles. In other words, “dome” being a metaphor for protecting whatever is underneath its protective cover.
If it is Iron Dome, then there is no physical dome to strike and any incoming missiles that did strike underneath its cover would have indicated failure of the system or the system being overwhelmed by quantity of incoming missiles.
Further, is this area of engagement on the border the same area where previous proposals for consideration to have US troops deployed for “peacekeeping” military personnel to be deployed?

Those were Kornet anti tank missiles and not rockets. They fly straight. We have defense on tanks and vehicles against it but not on structures. And yes it is being investigated, there should have been a defense for it. If they just need to place the Trophy Active Defense system like there are on tanks than it can be resolved rapidly. But it seems like we don’t have an answer for a large short range anti tank missiles that are flying straight. I read that the engineers are trying to give an answers. . Also trouble with low flying drones. The soldiers are using their rifles.
Ny the way. The Laser Beams will resolve this issue in clear days (not rain). Working on it. Soon to be seen.

Active Defense system Trophy works for single incoming RPG or other missiles that they fire from the shoulder. But a large barrage of missiles that are flying straight is a problem.

Iron Beam is not being used. In the begining of the war there were rumors of it being used and maybe there was some experiment that caused the rumors. But I know there is a race trying to get it ahead of schedule. It will solve a lot of the cost problems and the short range missiles and Drone problems. Its only downside is that it’s not for bad weather.

I only saw them once in 1987 in Salt Lake City. Power Windows Tour. I’m a drummer and of course Neil Peart was an idol and still is. I figured, if I could play like him, I could play anything. (But, I still have trouble with certain songs anyway. It’s never easy.)
I wrote him a letter once and he sent me a postcard back with a nice reply which was his usual way to handle his mail. A lot of people got postcards from him back in the day. He said he liked to send postcards back to his fans and he did for me. I have it framed and so thankful.
I’ll meet up with you someday, Neil. Thank you for helping me along the journey both in music and in life.

Biography: Ignacy Łukasiewicz is one of the most important figures in the history of Polish industry and technology. He was born in 1822 in the village of Zaduszniki, in the Polish region of Galicia.
After completing his schooling, he worked in a pharmacy in the city of Lviv. He then went on to study chemistry in Vienna and Krakow. In 1845, he returned to Lviv and opened his own pharmacy.

INTIMATE WITH JESUS
“Have I been so long with you, and yet hast thou not known Me?” John xiv. 9
These words are not spoken as a rebuke, nor even with surprise; Jesus is leading Philip on. The last One with whom we get intimate is Jesus. Before Pentecost, the disciples knew Jesus as the One Who gave them power to conquer demons and to bring about a revival (see Luke x. 18-20). It was a wonderful intimacy, but there was a much closer intimacy to come – “I have called you friends.” Friendship is rare on earth. It means identity in thought and heart and spirit. The whole discipline of life is to enable us to enter into this closest relationship with Jesus Christ. We receive His blessings and know His word, but do we know Him?
Jesus said, “It is expedient for you that I go away” – in that relationship, so that He might lead them on. It is a joy to Jesus when a disciple takes time to step more intimately with Him. Fruit bearing is always mentioned as the manifestation of an intimate union with Jesus Christ (John xv. 1-4). When once we get intimate with Jesus we are never lonely, we never need sympathy, we can pour out all the time without being pathetic. The saint who is intimate with Jesus will never leave impressions of himself, but only the impression that Jesus is having unhindered way, because the last abyss of his nature has been satisfied by Jesus. The only impression left by such a life is that of the strong calm sanity that Our Lord gives to those who are intimate with Him.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

I have finally finished building my dream computer; the end of a 6+ year journey.
I have a 43″ 4K TV as my monitor. Careful, Treepers, sometimes bigger is not always better. This thing is almost TOO big. I’m writing this comment on a screen the size of a bedsheet. When I close a program, I almost have to stand up to reach the little “x” in the upper right corner. And it’s ironic that when I bought this TV, the 50″ model was on sale for the exact same price as the 43″, and I passed it up because I knew it was going to be too big. I recommend something more manageable, like a 40″ or even a 32″ will suit just fine, unless you’re a hard core gamer like me.
Driving this primo monitor I have a sweet video card, the RTX 3060ti, with specs out to the moon. And dollars out to the moon as well, but that’s another story.
I got the Intel I7-4790K Devil’s Canyon CPU. It’s got a scary name, so it must be impressive, right? It sits on a Z97S motherboard that was designed specifically for this chip. At the time it was made, it was the Big Daddy of all CPU’s. Today the newer CPU’s easily leave it in the dust. But it’s powerful enough to serve me well for several years to come. At least, that’s the plan.
I’ve installed the maximum amount of memory this motherboard will carry, 32GB. And by the way, this is the best and cheapest way to increase your computer’s speed. It’s easy to do; you can’t mess it up because the slots are keyed and you can’t put it in the wrong way.
I also put in a water cooling system, which is turning out to be effective. But I can’t get over the fact that there are now radiators for computers!
I’ve finished migrating to all solid state drives, so that now the only moving parts on my rig are the fans and the CD drive. I was having problems with the RAID array early on, so I sidestepped the issue and ran them as straight independent drives. I’m going to have to go back in and address that problem at some point. Which means wiping all the drives and starting again. Eh, I’m used to it by now; I think I must have done that 20 times over the past couple of weeks. Not difficult, just tedious and time-consuming. At least with all that practice, I’ve got it down to a science now and I’ve standardized the procedure.
But everything’s together, and it runs. I’ve got the temps down to where I want them and it’s great. I don’t fancy all those lighting effects the kids are using nowadays; I just have one lighted fan issuing a soft white glow inside the case, and the radiator pump has an illuminated logo. Understated elegance is the theme.
And it’s all obsolete.
All this tech and equipment (except for the video card) are from 2016-2017, which makes it now almost two generations behind. Seven years in the computer industry is a long time, and everything they’re putting out now far outperforms what I have.
So now that I’m done, what do I do now? Why, start in on the next one, of course. I’ll get back to you in about 7 years and let you know how that comes out. 🙂
Meanwhile, The Games! I’m now open to a new plateau of games that I couldn’t run before. I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 and Days Gone right away, and Harry Potter’s Hogwart’s Legacy is next on the list. Those should keep me busy for a while. By the time I finish those something else will have come along, so I’m looking forward to an extended period of customer satisfaction.

I now have lights in the garage and electricity to get the gas heater in garage installed.
I also found out that once the new 200 amp meter base is installed my existing breaker box has adequate open slots to accommodate the new circuits.
Had to move one outlet in the living room and had new one installed above the fireplace mantel for the 70” TV we’ll be putting in over the fireplace.
It won’t be long until they are ready to start putting in the doors for access to the garage and sunroom.
Gotta go with the contractor to pick out the doors.

Hi all. Has anyone experienced audio breaking in on one of the TCH pages? I am using Brave browser and so far, only on the Tucker / Higgins interview and only on page 2 and w/o any comment selected, audio about Royal history is breaking in. If I change to pages one or 3, the audio doesn’t break in.
I probably will uninstall Brave and see if it happens again once installed…assuming it was a problem via Brave but could it be an attack on the Treehouse?
It turned out to be a problem with the Brave shield. Although the Brave shield was enabled, it wasn’t ‘shielding’ an ad. So I turned the shield off then on, fixed. Sorry to take your time. Something to remember though if you notice an ad but your shield ‘shows’ enabled. Do and off/on.
