‎1/‎4/‎2024 – We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard

Ezra 4:1-6 “Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel; then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said to them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as you do; and we do sacrifice unto Him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assyria, which brought us up to this place. But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said to them, You have nothing to do with us to build a house to our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us. Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building, and hired counselors (lawyers) against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia. And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote to him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.”

And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. For that indeed a notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken to you more than unto God, judge you. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shown.”

I am inspired by the great courage of those who were commissioned with rebuilding the Temple and the wall of Jerusalem, and how they had to put up with the conniving and false accusations, and even hiring lawyers to make them stop the work; and of Peter and John, unafraid and nothing intimidated by the rich ruling class, bullying and telling them to shut up about Jesus. 

In whatever place the Lord has us working for Him; it is inevitable that the adversary will have his willing servants nearby to harass us, and frustrate the work. The many strong examples of righteous boldness, of our brethren who have gone through the same things before us, show us exactly how much we have nothing to be afraid of, encountering whatever opposition against us. And the strength they found in God, came out of the abundance of the Spirit they had in their heart, and the firm understanding, WITHOUT DOUBTING OR HESITATION, that God was behind them, and they were doing all according to His authority.

Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the fathers of Judah, immediately discerned the diabolic intent and hypocrisy, of those who had nothing to do with them, nor of the work that God gave them to do. We should see immediately a likeness to the devil’s infiltrating the churches in the West, with perverts, and antichrist globalists, and communists, and teachers of lies and doctrines of demons; all in an effort to cause the Lord’s work to stop. And if the churches have the discernment of what’s really going on, and stand against the demonic attempts to infiltrate and sabotage the saints; then they pull out their entire arsenal, of the wicked media, and lawyers and the courts, to bring accusation against the Christians, and force them by law to stop.

It is worth noting, that when those same men who had persecuted Jesus, saw the courage and Spirit in Peter and John, they recognized them, that they had been with Jesus. We do not want to be honored, or recognized by men; just for the sake of honor and recognition; but we do want it to be recognized, that we have been with Jesus. We always like better to be approved and supported when we do right, and are especially guided and used by God. But the facts are, that we have many serious enemies for Jesus’ sake; who are already expecting us to get back in line and shut up when they say. If it were for any other reason, we might be better Christians to humble ourselves and do what they say. But when it comes in direct opposition to obeying the Lord, and the work He has commissioned us to do; no one has the authority or any business telling us not to. What are they thinking who they are, to tell us not to do what God has told us to do?

And finally, looking carefully at how the wicked were still allowed to continue in the direction they chose, to fight against the saints; and how undeterred the men were, notwithstanding all the threats and accusations and calling the law on them; they went home to the brethren, and told them what happened, and they all brought it to the Lord in prayer. That didn’t make the enemies have a change of heart; and it didn’t necessarily cause the persecution to abate; but the challenge and opposition made the disciples stronger, for the work to continue better than ever.

We can tell them, just like Zerubbabel did, You have nothing to do with us, to build a house to our God; but we will ourselves together build. And we can tell the proud unbelievers, who seek to intimidate us by their position and power; You judge it right in the sight of God, to hearken to you more than God? For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. Let us then take courage through our brothers and sisters who are standing up to persecution and relentless attempts to frustrate them, and force them by every means to stop teaching in the Name of Jesus; and ourselves be much more bold to speak the word without fear; leaving all our cares with the Lord, who cares for us; and loves us for sacrificing and serving Him.

Israel Update :

–High intensity alertness across Israeli security, specially at the north following the assassination of the Second of Hamas’s Political Wing.   Note: Revenge is a very high value of Arabic culture.  I don’t think that Hezbollah wants a full scale war just for this, it’s more of a Hamas problem than Hezbollah.  But they will want to show a response which can spiral to a war. Also the recent terror attack in Iran can act as a factor for a full war in the North.  

-A major terror attack at the fourth year memorial event of Soleimani in Iran.  Two explosions of suitcases. Over 200 died and over 170 injured.  
Note: Israeli Mossad would never approve mass murder.  Specially in such a high profile event that would require a direct approval of the Prime Minister.  
But for sure Israel supports many organizations inside Iran who resist the government.  
The way this terror attack happened was an explosion first, following later by a second larger explosion that targeted the rescue forces.  This is a tropical method of a Sunni terror organization. US officials denies a US involvement and says that “doesn’t think that Israel did it”.  

-The head of Mossad in a funeral of a former Mossad Chief.  “Every Arab mother of a participant in the 10/7 massacre should know that her son is not going to live.”

-I posted earlier a video of an earlier interview (before the war) of the Deputy Leader of Hamas that was just assassinated.  He said something important.  
He suggested that in a full war with Israel they are going to try to defeat Israel by using precision missiles to shut off Israeli Air Force bases, water and electrical operations and by this to halt Israeli economy and air superiority which will collapse Israel.  
So this indicates that he is referring to Hezbollah’s military capabilities.  It shows me that the 10/7 attack was a violation of the Iranian plan for Israel.  But it also shows the direction that Hezbollah will go for in a confrontation.  I know that Ex- General Brick told Bibi that Israel is not prepared for such an attack and he possibly prevented the full escalation at the North border.  By now I can only hope that Israel took some steps to be better prepared.  I know it was the intention but it takes time to prepare. Considering that now Hamas is more than half gone and is losing more and more areas and people, it means that Israel can’t be defeated from the north alone.  Their plan can hurt but not win.  

-The US and 12 nations total, called to stop the attack at the Red Sea.  The White House :
“The Hoothies will carry the responsibility and consequences if continue to threaten world trade at the Red Sea”.  Later today an American official suggested that the “Hoothies will not get another warning.”

-President of Iran is blaming Israel for the explosions in the memorial event and says Israel will pay a heavy price.   Later today the Supreme Leader of Iran called for “patience and to avoid confrontation with the US”.  

-Canada and Germany are calling their citizens to leave Lebanon.  

-Israeli Chief of Staff in the North still saying we are not intending to attack in the North at this time, “we are focusing on Hamas and are prepared at the north”.  

-In an exchange of fire at the North of Israel and Lebanon Hezbollah lost 4 more soldiers in addition to 5 the day before. They are now at a total of 147 dead.

Good morning all!

Yesterday and the day before I helped Steve with his cabin.

The forecast was for partly cloudy skies and a high of 35.

All went well until 15:00 when a mist started and then began to freeze. Got too slick to work on the roof.
The roof btw is 1 1/2” thick rough cut pine boards. This because the ceiling of the cabin is the under side of the roof that one can see from the inside.

We have three two rows on one side and three on the other to reach the peak. All the lumber is cut to finish it. That is what we did after it got too slick to work up high.

Then it will be covered with the highest quality roof underlayment and finally the metal roof will be screwed on.

Started helping Steve at 11:00 and got back in the house at 16:30.

Yesterday I showed the forecasted total snowfall for the NE. Here it is for the central U.S. over the next 2 weeks according to the European.

American shipping and railroad magnate (New York Central Railroad), dies at 82

Biography: Cornelius Vanderbilt rose from humble beginnings to become one of the richest people in nineteenth century America as an influential shipping and railway magnate and the founder of the Vanderbilt family dynasty.

Vanderbilt began his trade ferrying goods and people along the inland waterways around New York. During the 1812 war he secured government contracts and enlarged his fleet. After the war he switched to the steamboat industry, making his way by undercutting competitors and offering more luxurious services to passengers. Vanderbilt’s business made him tremendously wealthy and he was nicknamed ‘the Commodore’ for his dominance in maritime trade.

After the California gold rush Vanderbilt formed the Accessory Transit Company to transport people, via Nicaragua to the West Coast. During the American civil war Vanderbilt lent his flagship steamship the Vanderbilt to the Union Navy at the request of Abraham Lincoln.

If was only later in his career that Vanderbilt turned his hand to railways, for which he is most remembered. He had gained control of the New York and Harlem Railroad by 1863, which controlled access into New York. He then acquired a network of other railways so that by 1873 he could offer the first rail service from New York to Chicago. In 1869 he began construction of the first New York railway terminal, that would be eventually replaced by Grand Central Station. When he died in 1877 his personal estate was the world’s largest at 105 million.

There are times when you cannot understand why you cannot do what you want to do. When God brings the blank space, see that you do not fill it in, but wait. The blank space may come in order to teach you what sanctification means, or it may come after sanctification to teach you what service means. Never run before God’s guidance. If there is the slightest doubt, then He is not guiding. Whenever there is doubt – DON’T.
 
In the beginning you may see clearly what God’s will is – the severance of a friendship, the breaking off of a business relationship, something you feel distinctly before God is His will for you to do, never do it on the impulse of that feeling. If you do, you will end in making difficulties that will take years of time to put right. Wait for God’s time to bring it round and He will do it without any heartbreak or disappointment. When it is a question of the providential will of God, wait for God to move.
 
Peter did not wait on God, he forecast in his mind where the test would come, and the test came where he did not expect it. “I will lay down my life for Thy sake.” Peter’s declaration was honest but ignorant. “Jesus answered him…The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied Me thrice.” This was said with a deeper knowledge of Peter than Peter had of himself. He could not follow Jesus because he did not know himself, of what he was capable. Natural devotion may be all very well to attract us to Jesus, to make us feel His fascination, but it will never make us disciples. Natural devotion will always deny Jesus somewhere or other.

An artifact from the Late Bronze Age has inscriptions from ancient Israel bearing the name YHWH. A cave with artifacts from the Exodus has been found in the Sinai desert. 

King David had tremendous regard for the Word of God. Psalm 19, from which today’s verse is taken, is one of his hymns to the beauty, reverence, value, and life-affirming nature of Scripture. In the New Testament, the apostle Paul reminds his protégé, Timothy, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).

Maintain a steady diet of God’s Word in your life.

Pray for those in government who have yet to discover the richness of knowing God through His Word.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Meanwhile here at my place one crew is installing the 5/16” OSB that is the ceiling of the new garage. And the siding and gutter guys are installing the new vinyl siding on the sunroom. The walls of the sunroom are insulated and all the outside widows and door in.

So the guys have a salamander heater in there. So that is where they are cutting the vinyl. That warms the vinyl up so it is not so brittle that it is impossible to work with.

Kind of ironic that I’ve got contractors working on my house while I go help someone else build their log cabin.

Two days into the new year my wife went grocery shopping in not the best of moods and with little faith in humanity after reading the news. She returned a different person. At the store she saw an old man with a few items in hand shuffling up the aisle. A lady shopper noticed his shoes were untied and offered to tie them. The old man said “oh no, he could tie them himself.” She insisted, saying his hands were full, and went down on her knees to tie them. The old man was totally taken back and told her she didn’t have to do that, thanked her, and said she will be blessed. My wife told them there so much evil in this world it’s wonderful to see such an act of kindness. She asked if she could hug her and they did, tearfully, with other shoppers taking it all in. That’s the news from the middle of Wyoming.

About ten days ago I mentioned on this thread, after having had a long time of feeling unwell on and off (since October 1st) while I had three different bouts of some kind of flu. The third starting early December, might have been a revived number two (starting early November) as both were focussed on the chest with incessant coughing, deep and harsh and exhausting, making sleep difficult among other discomforts.

Some kind treepers said they would pray for me. I was very grateful. I thank you kind people most sincerely for your prayers, as I am feeling much better. Thank you, Lord for healing me. I actually have a little energy returning and went the last few days with only very short bursts of occasional coughing. I have slept like a log the last few days…ah at last! 🙂
