Besty: Exellent. There is a novel by early 20th century European author, Joseph Roth, called, “Radetsky March,” about the decline and fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. I read the book last year (2023!) Hearing the Strauss march evokes the period described in the novel very well.

With this in mind, begin this new year aiming to spend time with God and His Word, where He will remind you of the things that really matter. The Lord will encourage you in times of disappointment and direct your thoughts to a level you have not known before. He gives wisdom generously to those who ask.
As you spend time in prayer, adore the Lord for who He is, confess any wrongs that you have committed, and express thankfulness for His many blessings. Then intercede on behalf of friends and others who are struggling, some of whom may have lost their way. Pray for people to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ so that there may be peace in this nation and the world.
Ask the Lord to provide wisdom to the leaders who determine the next steps.

Good morning to my 🌳🏠 friends!
Last year, at this time, I posted my desire to find ‘Joy in Jesus’ for a 2023 goal. I am pleased to give an excellent report of success. The Journey changed my years long habit of wondering how I (as in me, myself and I) would be able to course out my life in a manner to accomplish what I felt I needed to provide and sustain a living and to care for those in my charge. Notice all the I’s?
This is the story of a girl that learned to move over and let God! Hard road, lots of reversals, prayers of forgiveness, just letting go…hard, hard, hard! But!
Letting go (of the I’s) and just letting God involves so much more than just saying it. First of all, there are the Ten Commandments that start with ~ I AM the Lord your God ~ Thou shalt have no other (strange) gods before ME! ~ Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images. This, He pointed out, is a heart issue. It’s not limited to building a real idol…it also includes what my wandering heart yearns for the most.
As I searched out my own heart, I found that my own self-reliance meant that I didn’t trust God enough, that He wasn’t first in my planning. These are hard words to say but necessary. God demands that He be first in every part of my life…every part! Going through the chambers of my heart (and my house), sorting out, throwing all of the clutter away…hard, hard, hard! Santa, Halloween, Easter, to name a few prominent ‘idols’. Things that compete with His Holiness! Things that dilute His Presence! The mixture is abhorrent to Him. He will not inhabit a ‘house’ that He has to share His Holy Presence. No wonder I couldn’t find ‘Joy in Jesus’.
We are the Church

His Son’s and Daughters
Then why don’t we follow His commands? Why do our hearts follow after Egypt and the world’s fun and entertainments?
The God we serve is the same yesterday, today and forever!
In the upheaval of long-standing habits and beliefs, clarity began to shine through the thick fog of self-reliance and a compromised heart. Learning to pray about EVERYTHING and then resting and waiting upon God has become my new reliance. And, I found Peace and Joy in Jesus!
Going forward in 2024, my goal is to strengthen the truth and purity of God and His Holiness that He has so graciously revealed to me ~ and His LOVE ~ within my heart, that one day, I may dance among the stars with Him…
There is no doubt in my mind that you will, indeed, dance among the stars with Him, my sweet Stevie, friend.
I pray God’s continued sustenance for you and yours and for Him to bless you indeed.
Control is a super hard thing to let go of – especially as a grown up, bread winner, revenue producer, host organism with lots of parasites sucking the life out of us every single day! I stumble often with what is “my job” verses what is “God’s Job”. (not to be confused with the Book of JOB in the Bible – I relate a little too much to that!)
Resting from the anxiety and letting go of FEAR is my goal. When we do the very best we can working as though we are working for the Lord Himself – He Has a way to slay those giants for us. I thank Him so much for that.

It could be my computer, it’s been doing weird things lately.
Also, computers can be eccentric, and sometimes, magical.
It is an interesting place. Naturally, nearby it is ‘touristy’ but it is still a charming part of Britain. I do hope you get to go. But things are not as they were. Britain is going through the same awful political mess that the US is, both countries ruled by people we did not vote for, both inundated with unwanted migrants and a deliberate attempt to destroy the culture of the land .
The Cornish coast is full of interesting places to visit ,some of them were once just small ancient fishing villages, so are challenging to drive in and out of. Since I was there (just visiting 1978)at Tintagel there have been more archaeological findings.
Also some areas are safer to access than they were.
Try going on Google earth and exploring the area. Look around the streets of the villages. eg, Looe and Polperro, (not far from Plymouth Devon) south coast, Port Isaac, (the location used for a tv series’ Doc Martin’.)

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
