Does anyone here know the genealogy of Jesus- from David to Mary?
Luke 3:23-31 is Jesus’ genealogy from Mary to David.
Read backwards it goes from David to Mary.
There’s another genealogy that goes from David’s other son by Bathsheba to Joseph, husband of Mary, in Matthew 1:1-17.
The first appearance of Joseph is in the gospels of Matthew and Luke, often dated from around 80–90 AD. Each contains a genealogy of Jesus showing ancestry from King David, but through different sons; Matthew follows the major royal line from Solomon, while Luke traces another line back to Nathan, another son of David and Bathsheba. Consequently, all the names between David and Joseph are different.

There’s been disagreement about this because of there are obviously two men named Joseph in the lineage, one leading back to David in Matthew, and one leading back to Adam in Luke. After reading up on the options, I now agree with those who say the lineage in Matthew is that of Jesus through Mary’s father Joseph back to David.

I met him once a long time ago, along with a small group of other people. He was charming. quiet and gentlemanly. It’s a bit of a story, but in that few minutes he showed to me and others what his character and true persona was. When a young man in a U.S. uniform was misbehaving due to having had too much to drink, it was clear Jack really cared about the honor and the reputation of the U.S. Forces in all situations.
He spoke quietly and kindly to the inebriated young man, who listened in a wobbly way, though I don’t think he had a clue who was talking to him in such a fatherly way. But Jack told him in no uncertain terms, that his behavior was unacceptable and firmly told him off. The young man listened and said,”sorry” to the group, and added few quiet words to Jack then wobbled off down the street. We were all very impressed with Jack Benny. He was a true star.
I always loved his humor.
By ‘Jack’ I am referring of course to the great JACK BENNY, …..THE Jack Benny. Whose old radio shows, when one can find them, are still very funny. He was very gifted. There used to be so many great comedy shows ‘ in the old days’ and incredibly talented comedians.
What happened to comedy? Have a couple of generations grown up without knowing laughter. The delight in nonsense. The fun of seeing pompous arrogant people exposed. The making fun of our own societal weaknesses and having a good laugh at ourselves (Monty Python was brilliant at that . Israel Update:
-Israeli weekend is Friday through Saturday and we had the worst weekend so far with some 14 soldiers who fell and some 8 badly injured. About a half of the fallen was in an armored soldier carrier which go hit by an anti tank missile. We have an active protection system on those carriers which blows up the incoming missiles in the air and also in many cases those carriers took hits like this and survived. We have the most secure tanks and carriers in the world but this system is only about 95% secure and there are weaker areas.
Another 5 fell in a boobytrapped structure in Khan Yunis (South Gaza) and the others were hit with an IED (Explosive) in the North Gaza area. I did not report to you because I thought you must be busy with Christmas and you may not want bad news. But war have a price and we are not over. Even areas that are conquered are not fully cleaned yet.
-The IDF finally got full control of the large Jabalia Area in North Gaza which was one of the largest strongholds of Hamas. I am seeing quite a few videos from the IDF which show: schools full of weapons and fighting positions, tunnels under mosques and schools, tunnels anther numerous civilian houses and shafts into them (mainly houses of the commanders of regions). I have seen a couple of videos that on one they find the Nazi book (Mein Kemp) in a commander’s house and on the other video I saw a screensaver image of Hitler on an IPad of a regular teenage civilian girl. I have not posted the footage of tunnels and schools etc… because I thought that you are aware of this situation and I don’t need to prove you anything. If you want to see let me know and I will post. There is a video in a school in Jabalia which had a fierce battle over it and the school contained large amount of weaponry and anti tank missiles etc… Israel deployed its Navy Seals on this battle, they tend to be faster and more effective and precise.
-A ship by the Shores of India was attacked and damaged apparently by an Iranian drone. That ship had a partial Israeli ownership.
The Hoothies shoot two missiles at another ship and missed, Hoothies also deployed some 4 drones at a US Navy ship and the drones were intercepted. They also sent drones at a Norwegian and an Indian ships. This is an escalation of their aggression. Spain and Italy who are in the collation that the US put together are not willing to send Navy ships under a US controlled headquarters. Also Netherlands and Norway are not willing to send in ships, they are only willing to send a few officers. Iran stated that the US led coalition is a failure.
Note: The test will be the UK, Canada and the US. We shall see.
-Egyptians are proposing a deal for Gaza which is basically a surrender of Israel.
With a phase one of releasing 40 injured and older Israelis for two to three weeks of ceasefire and triple released “heavier” terrorists. Then a phase of union of Hamas and Palestinian Authority which will take control of Gaza and the West Bank until an election (elections equal Hamas wins probably), then a complete withdraw of the IDF and a full release of all terrorists in Israel (I think it is 6000 or so) and all war prisoners and agreement to end the war.
This of course is not serious. But the first phase of the release of 40 may be considered but not for two to three weeks of a pause at this point. It’s more acceptable because if we release terrorists who are also old and ill then it’s less of a risk for the future. Note: It appears that Hamas considers the last round of ceasefire and hostage release as a failure for them and therefore they are in a position now that there are no negotiation until Israel stops the war. I don’t see that anyone is taking the Egyptian option seriously.
-Bibi went into North Gaza and met soldiers and commanders. He made it clear to them that “Israel is going all the way to fully destroy Hamas”. This is what the soldiers wanted to hear.
I translated this video. It gives a good idea of what is going on. I will post it after this.
-There are some voices inside the Israeli coalition ( the governing bloc) that say that “Israel is sacrificing soldiers because of less air attacks because of US pressure”.
The closer circle to Bibi are attacking those voices and saying “it is not true.”
There was also a confidential report published about Israel having to conduct an “ammunition management” which could indicate a different reason for the claim above.
This kind of report should have stayed confidential, by the way. I see a confirmation on this. Not, good, we need munitions, specially if the North gets into full war.
Note: In my mind there is no doubt that there is much less air attacks in the South of Gaza.
I see it in all the videos. The North looks very damaged and the South isn’t.
It is date coincidence with Biden pressuring Israel about civilian death toll and displacement of more Gazans. There are a few factors which we don’t know all the truth about like a strong attempts to locate hostages in Khan Yunis, ammunition management, etc…
PS. I just saw a massive air attack in Kham Yunis. I guess the sounds in Israel arrived to the right ears.
-There is a published statement from Sinwar (Hamas leader in Gaza) for the first time. It is a letter for Hamas’s Political leadership that is out of Gaza and was negotiating possibilities which are relatively “moderate” of how to survive after the war.
“Our forces are conducting an unprecedented violent and fierce battle against the Israeli occupation forces. The military of the enemy are suffering heavy casualties in life and equipment. During the ground invasion our forces attacked at least 5000 soldiers and officers, a third of them were killed another third badly injured and the last third incapacitated for life. As to military vehicles 750 of them were destroyed. Fully destroyed of partly damaged. Our forces destroyed the Occupation’s Military and are on the way to its full crushing and we will not surrender to the occupation’s terms.”
Note: The IDF since the invasion lost around 150 soldiers. If you want to count babies women and children as combatants then you can get a total of some 1500 or so.
The 750 ruined vehicles is a joke.
Reading some Israeli comments on this I see mainly mocking it. “He forgot to mention how he demolished our submarines and F35 fighters and sunk the US Navy in the area. “ LOL.
It brings memories of the Six days war when The Egyptian Leader was talking to the Jordanian leader about how their forces are arriving to Tel Aviv. And there was an Egyptian radio in Hebrew that was telling us how the Arabs are crushing us. In Yom Kipur war they started well and all Arab media celebrated while Israel eventually surrounded most of Egypt’s military in the Sini desert which could starve to death and annihilated and Kissinger saved them before a full annihilation of tens of thousands of soldiers.
This also reminds of Hitler’s communications while his army get crushed.
I also remember the Iraqi media reporting how they are crushing the US while the US was crushing them rapidly in the beginning. It shows of his psychotic state of mind and it shows that negotiations now are not useful. The truth is that they lost around 7000-10,000 terrorist and much more injured terrorists. Gaza is in ruins which will take a decade to rebuild, most of the Gazans became refugees for real (not their old fake definition), 20,000 death toll and 50,000 injured. A complete loss of grounds and their infrastructure that he built in decades in the North and shortly in the south. And in his head he is “winning”. I guess he may think this way until we arrive to him personally.
-IDF made an operation and brought back 5 bodies of murdered hostages, mainly soldiers. They were found inside a large tunnel center in North Gaza and this was demolished later.
It’s important for us and the families to have proper burial of our fallen.
-The IDF assassinated the leading Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s General over the Syrian area. He responsible for delivering munitions and weapons to Hezbollah etc…
Iran is saying they will revenge. Foreign Minister of Iran is saying that the countdown for
Tel Aviv started. Israel is expecting a response from Hezbollah. High alert in the North.

While Biden officially says that his admin is not directing Israeli war strategy, his withholding of munitions for air strikes is achieving his goals of tying Israeli war planners to his goal of saving Hamas.

Thank you Dale, The recent criticism in the Israeli right wing base for limited air attacks in South Gaza which included strong people inside the Government has led to the release of the “munition management” information. The Cabinet tried to say that there is no orders to limit the use of munitions. Realize that Israelis are highly sensitive to every soldier who dies, every soldier who dies takes front pages of all media with their life story etc…. So the high price created high reaction everywhere.
So the report is not false. The closest man to Bibi is Ron Dermer is going to the US to discuss the continuation of the war and also the speed up of munitions delivery. I just read a report from Gaza that mentioned as a side comment that the tanks are using their new advanced munitions that just arrived from the US a few days ago. (Israel does produce munition for tanks but I guess not all of it).
I also read that the logistic section of the IDF is introducing a computer software in tanks to have better control on how munitions are used while trying not to limit it.
Main problem is the air force dependence on munitions from the US. Israel is pushing now a program to manufacture in Israel but I doubt that it’s an immediate solution. Remember that munition deficiency is also due to saving a lot for the north border possible escalation.
You’re right that it’s bad news because sneaky Biden can use it. We are likely to push Hezbollah back in the north because they are holding the entire North out of homes and are actually destroying big parts of some towns.
I bet that Ron Dermer will try to secure munitions fast. I hope he succeeds.
I doubt that Biden is trying to help Hamas to survive. His goal is a Palestinian State controlled by the Palestinian Authority. The US have already trained them before and wants to build their force and “satisfy Israel” by reforming them. This is a collision with Israel since we know they have the same goals of destroying Israel as Hamas. So we will see. The munition problem is a part of what will have to be investigated. It’s a pathetic lack of preparedness. We are not even yet in a major regional war and already struggling. My hope is that there is a practical way to start production in Israel under emergency basis. It reminds me 1973 when Israel was close to losing the war and a disaster. US munitions was a problem. Defense Minister Dayan asked Golda the Prime Minister to take out the nukes and she declined and fortunately Nixon had a warm part in his soul for Israel and delivered what we needed urgently.

And the IDF soldier said it’s against the Geneva Convention to reuse the enemy’s weapons and munitions so Israel does NOT do that.

But I remember in past war, not sure if Yom Kipur or Six Day war the elite Delta Force of Israel (Sayeret Matkal) took and used AK 47s

In recounting the parable Jesus told about the persistent widow in today’s passage, the focus is most often on prayer. This is a tool the believer should always employ. However, Jesus also uses the word “AND” when He says not to lose heart, and not to give up.
It can become tiring and difficult when you are doing what the Lord has asked of you. God has directed you to not give up your faith under any circumstances, regardless of the pain, cost, self-sacrifice, or suffering. Consider the apostle Paul, who was imprisoned, repeatedly flogged, stoned, shipwrecked, suffering cold and sleepless nights, hungry and thirsty, and even fighting off snakes. Yet, through it all, he knew the presence of God, and could say with confidence, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
How is your faith today? Have you thought of giving up? Whatever your circumstances, repeat the promise of Romans 8:28, “We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Do not lose heart. Look at your problems through the prism of God’s love for you, pray, and receive strength from Him.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Merry Christmas to all. Visited little Germany in Georgia. Had Tafelspitz & Beef Rolladan which my grandmother used to make. I was even lucky enough to get into the German breakfast/lunch/bakery which I had never been able to get into on other visits. If you live in the Tenn/NC/SC/GA/AL area its a must visit at least once.
I was greeted in the morning with a beautiful bird song which I do not hear anymore, sadly. There were at least 5 singing Song Sparrows in the parking lot area which further backs up my theory of their switching their nesting habitats to parking lots to evade nest parasitism from Cowbirds who have expanded their range from out of the Mid-west were they were originally.
Song Sparrows are aptly named.

To my fellow Treepers, I hope this finds everyone is in good spirits and you and your families are well. I feel the need to inform those that care what I have been doing and where I am at now.
First the good news, I have found semi-full time work (35hrs/ week) and after three weeks of not having my dogs I was able to locate my oldest companion and recover her from the dog rescue. It was heartbreaking at first because she wouldn’t acknowledge me or come when called (she was MAD and traumatized) but after a couple of visits she finally warmed up to me and I was allowed to take her home with me.
Now the rest, I have no idea if arrangements where made for my friend Bill who passed in November because I have no contact with the people doing it. I am hoping that things come together for him and he is layed to rest with the honor and dignity he deserves.
With the little money I make I am trying to find small side jobs to help but Mexicans don’t like paying guerdo’s for work even though I can do the work better and correctly. The saying here is “If your going to pretend to payme, I will pretend to work.” thats typically how Mexican’s think here.
In general I have been lurking but don’t engage because quite frankly I don’t believe you will be able to vote your way out of this mess. My thoughts and beliefs of how to fix the problems that the American people face are not popular and many do NOT want to even think of what MUST be done in order to save our Republic. So this Mule will wait and prepare the best I can for that day when we are called upon.
I hope and pray that the American people will open their eyes to what must be done and that they can ready themselves and those they love to rise to the occasion and be victorious.
