This is from a Orange County California Congressional race in 1996. What is of interest is Democrat Sanchez dropping of her last name “Brixey” so it was “Sanchez” for the ballots, Motor Voter Laws, illegal aliens voting (this was in the early stages of the invasion begun in earnest after Clinton/Gingrich NAFTA), early vote fraud using illegal aliens. Orange County was a very different before NAFTA opened the borders.

Here is an analogy about RCV.
When you are shopping for an item and there are two choices available with good information about both that lets you make your decision with reasonable effort, you end up picking one and feel it was a good choice.
When you are shopping for an item where you have 5 or 10 choices and information on them is hard to find, how do you make your choice? If you don’t have the time or desire to research every item, you can’t even flip that coin. Most of these items are designed to look like the others, so when you finally just grab one, or three, it is not an informed decision.
One of RCV’s claims is that it removes negative campaigning and makes the candidates try to appeal to everyone so that they get those second and third choice votes. Doesn’t that mean all the candidates are going to be mediocre and not take a firm stand on any one issue because it may turn off second choices? Doesn’t that mean we won’t really know what candidates are better or worse than others? How does a voter make a choice if all the candidates are essentially the same because the system forces them to be milquetoast?
