I am so pleased to have found —thank you Siccas curators—Cassie’s especially fine concert. I thought about making a few comments about trhe hours of work it takes her level of virtuosity. But, in retrospect, I’ve realized that doing this sort of takes my Treeper friends for granted—most of you guys know this stuff as well as I do.
What we get to hear is a very accomplished player who is demonstrating real chops. Cassie’s virtuosity is simply exquisite. I hope you enjoy her playing as much as I have.

Israel Update:
-IDF so far lost 105 soldiers since the beginning of the ground invasion. 1 today and three badly injured. 582 injured. 34 in bad condition. 210 medium injuries. Not including the 10/7 day.
-A tanker in the Red Sea was attacked with rockets and damaged by Yemen. It has a Norwegian flag and is nothing to do with Israel. There is talk of the US forming an international force to protect the waters. So far I don’t see it done.
-Biden: “we will keep provide Israel military aide till we get rid of Hamas.”
“I know Bibi for 51 years. I told him long ago ‘I love you but don’t agree with anything you say’,
It’s about the same today. It’s a difficult point”.
Note: I can read between the lines that he is talking about the day after the war. Biden wants a Palestinian State controlled by the Palestinian Authority. A disaster to Israel. It’s so easy to prove it’s wrong, I can’t understand why Biden is so misguided about it?
-Rumors that Israel is asking for Egyptian and Qatari negotiators to talk about hostage deals again.
-Some allegations that Israel used White phosphorus bombs in Lebanon. This is used as “inhumane” accusation. Practically it’s not against the Geneva Convention if not used on populated areas. It’s good in exposing things under trees and vegetation like the bomb storages that Hezbollah has in the woods.
-The city Metula in North Israel was hit with some 5 anti tank missiles. No injuries but lots of property damage.
-Jake Sullivan is about to arrive to Israel on Thursday. Will meet the small War Cabinet.
The US want to coordinate the next stages of the war and are asking that towards the end of the year or beginning of next year the power of the attacks will decrease. They want to increase humanitarian aide and consider humanitarian pauses which will enable hostage release. There are agreements about the goals of the war but the Americans think that Israel should do more effort to decrease civilian casualties.
Note: The idea of putting a stopper in this war and telling us when to stop can completely sabotage the whole war if Israel agrees. The way how to fight and at what speed is military and not political. I really hope that Israel explains that it takes what it takes and we will not risk a single soldier for political PR reasons. But it may work out well anyways because I just heard the Chief of Staff say to his officers that the rate of progress in Kahn Yunis is historically amazing considering they are moving into a well fortified urban area which prepared. I am getting the idea that Jabalia and Sajaiah in the North will fall in a week or two. Khan Yunis also in a couple of weeks. But the problem is that then we have Rafiach that is the most south by Egypt, which has many civilians as everyone evacuated to the remaining zones. Also a couple other places in the North that I think will be relatively easy one of them not so much easy. But considering the rest of the North fell, they will be hungry and exhausted and may surrender faster. So I think we have some 6 weeks of heavy war.
Not much more than what the US is asking. It can be explained.
But then we will have many months of clearing tunnels and dealing with emerging terrorists here and there. I want to mention that war is not a predictable business. Things can easily change. One major Israeli error that kills many civilians in a protected zone and public opinion can change. If the terrorists start to execute hostages Israel may start to kill leaders in Qatar and God knows what happened then. There can also be a major collapse of Hamas where they give up. We shall see.
-I watched two videos of reporters who got access into Gaza and film. I like those because it gives an idea first hand with the troops and commanders.
One was in Jabalia that is one of the strongest strongholds of Hamas in the North. It was absolutely intense with daily encounters and terrorists emerging in mosques and houses and there were weapons in almost every house. Hundreds of tunnel shafts. The soldiers were doing an amazing job. Systematically going house to house and clearing it. The morale of the soldiers was very high. Almost every house had something. They did tens of houses that day. They are following D9 bulldozers and there are explosives everywhere and the bulldozer is handling it well. They are moving with artillery and tanks and can get air support in seconds and drones and they have intelligence officers providing data in tunnels and homes of terrorists etc… they also had a woman who is in charge on coordinating firepower if needed heavy bombardments from the air or otherwise. The other video was from Gaza city and there I saw that it was almost quiet with much less encounters. Overall we see more Hamas surrender, some hundreds and the Chief of Staff said that some were involved in 10/7 and are providing “interesting information.”

Even after I discovered rock & roll in the early ’60s, I never lost my affinity for the old big bands and orchestras (and some singers) of my parent’s youth.
Yea I’m Groucho too, there is a gem song or group from time to time but mostly to me, they stopped making music by 1990 (rap / hip hop era).
Other than some of those bands before 1990 were still producing music up until recently with the deaths of key people. Rush, Meat Loaf …. sigh.

She had it playing most of the day. Of course Charley Pride quickly became one of her favorites.

There are under three weeks left in this calendar year. What type of year has it been for you? Good or not so good? Or perhaps an “annus horribilis,” as Queen Elizabeth II called 1992? Have you been fruitful for the Lord this year?
Two people participate in today’s parable of the Barren Fig Tree—the owner of the vineyard and the caretaker. Initially, when the owner came upon the tree, he denounced it for producing no fruit in the three years since it was planted and ordered it cut down and burned. Why should it take up space, water, and resources if it is fruitless? The owner reconsiders after the caregiver advocates for one year of cultivation.
It would be a year of nurturing, one in which the caretaker would pay special attention to the needs of the tree, which might make it fruitful at last. A year of grace was given to the tree… more implicitly, to the caretaker who was determined to give it all the attention he could.
As you consider whether or not you have been fruitful in the Lord the year, thank Him for the areas He has shown you grace and ask Him to reveal where you could use cultivating. God is both the owner and the caretaker, apart from Him, you can do nothing. It is His Spirit that bears fruit in and through you. Your part is to seek Him in prayer, to drink the “water“ of the Word, and to be nourished by His tender loving care and faithfulness toward you.
Consider the admonition the Lord gave His disciples in Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Good morning all.
Ryan came by yesterday afternoon and finished roughing in the electrical in the garage. Next will be the sunroom. Also the siding and gutter guy came bye and I we selected the best color siding to match the existing and I gave him a spare elbow from my gutter so he could match that color.
Got a fire going in the insert and Gabby the cat is in her element. Both the pups have been out to do their business. Frosty out there. Not once this week so far has the forecasted high been met. Yesterday it wasn’t even close.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Well, I had hopes we were going to have a white Christmas at my Indiana home this year, but the closer it gets, it appears the less likely it is going to happen according to the models. For the first time in many years we won’t have any of the kids or their family coming over for Christmas. it is just as well with all that is going on.
Due to construction, we are not decorating this year. Going to be workers in the house soon changing a window into a door for access to the 24′ x 30′ attached garage. And changing a double window in the living room to a opening for a pocket door accessing the 12′ x 19′ sunroom. Both of those also involve moving existing floor registers.
But all is now under roof. All have the windows put in as is the sliding glass door for outside access from the new sunroom. Electrical for the garage is roughed in. Next will be the electrical for the sunroom.
The guy doing the siding and gutters was out yesterday. Looks like we can match both siding and gutter colors pretty well. Once the gutters are in, I’ll be getting the guaranteed for life gutter guards installed. The only ladder work I intend on doing from now on is for Christmas decorations after this year.
Still waiting for the utility engineer to show up to get an estimate of price and timing for running incoming power underground and for 200 amp service.
