The celebrated Canadian composer/writer/teacher John Beckwith, O.C., died December 5, 2022 in Toronto at the age of 95. His long life of service to Canadian music began on March 9, 1927 in Victoria, BC, where he started piano lessons at age 6 and sang as a boy chorister in the choir of Christ Church Cathedral. He moved to Toronto in 1945 to continue his studies with Alberto Guerrero, an important teacher and mentor, dies of pneumonia at 95

Mozart started composing at the age of 4 or 5, finished his first symphony at age 8, and his first opera at 11. In total, he composed over 600 works, including 53 symphonies, dozens of masses and liturgical works, and over 20 operas and lyric theater pieces.

Vienna became his home for the last ten years of his productive, yet short, life.

12/‎5/‎2023 – Answers to the question of whether there are many counterfeit Christians today, and how to recognize them

The question itself, of whether we are allowed to judge if someone has had an illegitimate experience, or has fallen prey to a counterfeit conversion, is of the utmost importance; yet the topic itself screams to heaven for neglect among the innumerable multitudes of Christians. In fact, the most common response to even the suggestion of someone being in error, is that of intense hostility and quarreling, under the supposed banner of, Judge Not! 

To modern Christians in the west, reproof, rebuke, correction, and instruction in righteousness, are nothing they are accustomed to, or anything open to; and the first thing they search for, to fight off any advance of the conviction of the Spirit in the Scriptures, is to grab and misuse other Scriptures, which they think protects them from honest self examination, or correction from someone else. This is one huge indication, that there is something very wrong in the heart of one actually professing faith in Jesus.

In the simplest terms, Jesus ALWAYS set the producing of good fruit alongside being saved. Of the twelve apostles chosen, all had great issues of ignorance and immaturity and misunderstanding and wrongly placed self-assurance, to overcome. But there was one kind among them, who made other choices than his brothers in the Lord; and took other actions. Judas made a conscious decision, that he was not to be humiliated or exposed for a fraud, in front of everyone; and all the Lord’s teaching about self sacrificing love and humility and not having our hearts upon anything in this life, and being wholly for God and for serving others first; came to the point where he decided, that he could no longer endure this kind of “fanaticism.” So, he went to the chief priests and Pharisees, and told them, What will you give me, and I will deliver Him up to you?

Did Judas have a true conversion at the first? Jesus apparently saw the potential, and took him at his word; even to the point of calling him into the closest confidence and friendship, with the hope of making Judas Iscariot one of His pillars of the church. But Judas afterwards changed his mind, and turned instead to be the Lord’s worst enemy and traitor. The things that happen in a man’s mind and soul, which he takes the decision to follow, are the man’s choice, and his own responsibility before God. 

Peter and some of the other disciples, were often rebuked or corrected by Jesus; but they didn’t let Satan into their heart because of it. Even though they on a rare occasion let their human thinking be manipulated by the devil, to actually contradict the Lord, and tell Him He would never have to suffer and be killed; still, after Peter was sharply rebuked for stupidly letting Satan’s thoughts seem like loyal friendship for Jesus, and forbidding the Lord from entertaining such dark thoughts; when Peter was rebuked, he did not turn traitor, or look for a way to get even. 

Peter’s conversion was real; even when he fell so badly the night the Lord was arrested; he after wept bitterly at what he had done, and how he had failed Jesus, his Friend more than any friend; and was afterwards again converted, and now able to strengthen his brethren by the same comfort and strength he himself had received from the Lord when he repented.

There are also many examples of altogether false conversions, and false Christians; who didn’t enter the way that Jesus said we must enter; through the strait gate and the narrow way, through confession and repentance and complete abandonment to Christ for our salvation. Jesus describes them as, “climbing up some other way;” and in reality being “thieves and robbers.” 

These are also the hearers of the word, but not doers. Like the hare or the camel, which chew the cud, but do not part the hoof; they talk the talk, but their walk is still completely in and of the world; so God says, they are unclean. Fish and creatures in the waters, which have no scales and fins; represent being of the world, and are therefore unclean. While fish that have fins and scales represent being in the world, but not of the world, are to be counted as clean. The other kind, are those who have a form of piety, and of a devout religious life; but not according to the Scriptures and the Spirit of Christ. Like the swine, they part the hoof, and are cloven footed; but the do not chew the cud: so they are unclean. The cow, and the sheep, and the goat, and the deer, all part the hoof, AND chew the cud. So they are clean to eat. 

Once we have believed and repented and turned our hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ, God accepts us and receives us for Jesus’ sake. And He gives us a New Birth and makes us a New Creation, and puts His Spirit into our hearts to teach us all things, and guide us into all truth. It is then up to us, to follow on to know the Lord; to learn the Scriptures, and rehabilitate our thinking and habits unto obedience and love and taking up our cross and following Him. This is not automatic, and it is nothing that God is going to do for us. He will, and He has, provided all we will need of His grace and competency to accomplish what He commands us; but WE ARE THE ONES who have to do it! And that is where we are known by our fruits, or if we even are bearing fruit, or nothing but leaves.

God’s kindness and compassion, and willingness to bear long with our so many weaknesses and stupidity and innumerable faults; we should not dare to think of as Him winking at sin, or giving us a free pass. For while He does have mercy, and provide for sins of ignorance; and makes atonement and forgiveness: it is expected, that after we have come to knowledge, the sin will stop. For there is no provision in the law for presumption, insolence, and arrogance; but we put ourselves in very grave danger of the judgment. 

If we are of God, we will hear God’s words and do them. We will believe the truth when someone says it. We will come to the light that our deeds may be manifest, whether they are wrought in God; and receive correction, reproof, rebuke, and instruction in righteousness, with a good and honest heart; even when it hurts our pride, and makes us feel ashamed; knowing that it is the LORD! 

Matthew 21:28-31 “. . . A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Which of the two did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first.”

At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes perfectly how to say, whether one is a real saved Christian, or a fake. It all comes out in whether we bear the good fruit. The good fruit is not the ministry we may have, or whether we have been hearing Him preaching, with open and receptive hearts; but in the actual doing of all whatever Jesus says. So the best way is to read and understand exactly what the Lord said about it. No one taught it more clearly! 

Matthew 7:13-27 “Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. *Wherefore (then truly) by their fruits you shall know them. 
Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? and in Your Name have cast out devils? and in Your Name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work *iniquity (lawlessness). 
Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 
And every one that hears these sayings of Mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

These rains, and floods, and winds, coming and beating upon us; they are both the ordinary things of life in this world, in our interaction with others, and the troubles that just come by themselves; AND will also be the great tribulation and trial of our faith, directed at us for Jesus’ Name sake, right from the devil and his seed. We should then learn how to be faithful to remember how to do what Jesus says in the every day ordinary things: that way, when the hard trials come, we will already be in a trained and ready condition to do our job well and overcome whatever! But neglecting of these first little things, and not bearing fruit of a Christian character and conduct; will end very badly.

Israel Update:

-IDF is preparing to invade Jabalia and Khan Yunis.  Those are major strongholds of Hamas. 
Massive bombardments and hundreds of tanks and vehicles and thousands of soldiers are getting to positions to move in.   A main road into Khan Yunis seems to have been prepared for the IDF to move in.  

-Hezbollah are saying that they attacked Israel 10 times in the last day. No known injuries in Israel at this time.  IDF attacked infrastructure and positions of Hezbollah. 

-Wall Street Journal is saying that Israel prepared a plan to flood the tunnels with sea water.  
Israel prepared a set of at least five large pumps which can completely destroy the tunnels and make the terrorist come out.  Each pump can transfer thousands of cubic litters of water per hour which will flood the tunnels in weeks.  Apparently Israel informed the US already last month which raised questions as to the environmental damage versus the benefits. Apparently Israel didn’t decide yet. 
Note: This is odd because Israeli war plans should not leak to the papers in the US.  Looks like the Biden Administration is leaking  or it’s a psychological war to stress them out in the tunnels and improve the bargaining pressure to get more hostages released.  
Note: today I saw in a footage of a tunnel some odd looking wide hose going into the tunnel. I don’t know what it was exactly.  I know they also use liquid explosives.  

-US Officials are demanding that Israel allows 120,000 litter of fuel into Gaza daily (double of what it is) and called to prevent violence of Jewish settlers in the West Bank against Palestinians.  The White House keeps insisting to discuss the future of Gaza after the war and sent to Israel the Advisory of the US VP.  Jake Sullivan also considers to come.  
Note: Everything that I just wrote is activities to sabotage the success of Israel in this situation.  Some say malicious and say simply not understanding. Probably both.  
Note: Pamala Harris sending people and sticking her nose is bad news. She is much worse than Biden in my opinion.  She is closer to the Progressives who are straight enemies of Israel.  Another Note: Knowing Bibi he will try to manipulate them and delay things for after the war is well under control and we don’t need ammunition so badly.  Later he can steer anywhere he wants when we are holding more cards and less dependent on the US for hostage release negotiations and aide.  

-Head of the Red Cross came to Gaza.  We all expected her to secure visits to the hostages. Instead she gives a long statement about Gazan hospitals and humanitarian situation and only one sentence about the need to release the hostages and visit them.  

-The US is blaming Iran for the attacks the Houthis (Yemen) did on ships).  

-The US attacked militias in Iraq.  Killed 15 of them.  Looks like a serious attack.  
Sullivan said there were four attacks on ships in the Red Sea in the last weekend.  
He is saying the US have talks with other nations about forming a force to protect the passage of ships.  

-NY Times: “An Israeli base that is thought to have nuclear capability was hit in 10/7.  One rocket hit the base and cause fire that almost got to the missiles in the base.” 
They claim that there are probably 25-50 Jericho missiles in that base.  
Note: Israel never admits nor denies that it has nuclear weapons.  It’s called the “ambiguity policy.” But it is well known in the world that we have nukes.  Reports vary from 80-400 nukes. Israel has the Jericho 3 Intercontinental missiles that can practically carry a nuke to any place in the world, from the Middle East to Asia, to Australia or America or Africa. It is believed to be very deep in the ground.  Israel also has German submarines that can carry nukes and of course it can be carried by airplanes.   The nukes are a part of “The Samson Option”. It is believed to be Israel’s only plan to use the nukes. Like Samson who decided to die with the enemies and collapse the building. 
IE. If Israel goes down it takes the enemies down along with it. 

-State Department is saying that they have no evidence that Israel intentionally targeting civilians.  They also saying that now Israel improved the way it evacuate civilians after it came up with a map of zones and no longer evacuates all cIties. 
Note: Today I watched a video of a known Israeli politician from the right. He showed the map which is Gaza divided into hundreds of zones.  He said that this is a disgrace and it is going to allow Hamas to move from zone to zone and prepare sniper positions and traps.  
I am not sure how right he is but it may be true and weakens Israel’s ability to win at low cost of Israeli soldiers.  On the other hand I am now thinking that if Hamas moves and attacks from inhabited zones then it will increase the Gazan death toll. But I think you understand that the Biden’s Administration is using its power over Israel against it.  I feel that time is of essence and that is why Israel has now intensified attacks on more than one place at a time.  

-Finally Israel was permitted to present the rape cases in the UN.  There were films and testimonials.  A representative of Israel’s police was there to show.  There was a video with the descriptions online but I avoided it. I already heard some before which was more than enough for what I can take.  

-US State Department: “Hamas doesn’t release Israeli women because it’s afraid they will expose what was done to them”.  

-3 Israeli soldiers died and 4 badly injured.  Looks like a tank was hit.  

-Explosions seen in Yemen at a base of Houthis. Missiles fired at them.  Likely an Israeli strike. Long away from Israel.

‎12/‎5/‎2023 – A brief summary and interpretation of the Seven Seals

Revelation 8:1 “And when He had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.”

I believe, that the Seven Seals should be thought of as the Summary of the Book of Prophecy, The Revelation of Jesus Christ. For the things they describe are as in an outline form, of things which must be shown in more detail, and each of their pertaining aspects, throughout the volume of the book.

The Seven Seals opened by the Lamb for our benefit, to see things from heaven’s view; do not speak only of certain things to come, but as it were, things which already are in the world; however coming to the full with the end of all things. And as we go through each one of the Seals; it will be clear, that these things have already been, and there is no new thing under the sun. But also, how that the things under each descending Seal, are at the bottom of the Seal previously opened. In other words; what we find under the Second Seal, and those coming after, are what’s under the First Seal; and we have to go through each one in turn, to find the root cause. And as we say, these things already being in the world, and continuing, are so mentioned because, they are what will come to the full at the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

The First Seal, in brief, is the arise of the mighty one of the heathen, the Antichrist.

The Second Seal, is the institution of war; and peace being taken away from the earth; out of which Antichrist will rise to power.

The Third Seal, the balances of God are the meaning of the famine and want and scarcity, for the measuring and weighing of the spirits of men, unto Judgment. At the root of all the restraint being taken away from the earth, and the coming of the wicked one, is the sifting of the nations and finding out what kind every man really is in his heart toward God. Yet still there remains the Testimony of Christ and His Spirit in the world for this time and purpose; which no one will have the power to hurt or take away, even though that will be the whole purpose of the war being waged against the saints.

The fourth Seal, a dun-colored horse, pale and greenish with death, and hell following with him; is the underlying cause for the weighing out and measuring of souls; AND why the saints are still in the world with the word of the Glad Tidings.

The Fifth Seal, again, is underneath all that is seen up to this point: for awaiting the day of vengeance and righteous judgment of God, for all the blood of His servants shed upon the earth. Death and Hell, the sifting of the nations, the continuing of the work of the saints until the end, the great sword of violence and war, and the conquering son of perdition; all come out of the anticipated day of vengeance of our God.

The Sixth Seal, without a doubt is the coming of the Lord and the end of the world of the ungodly. It has to be noted here, that the opening words of the seventh chapter might be helpful in understanding what all is taking place at this time, alongside the coming of the Lord. In the English it is translated, “After these things I saw . . . ” The word in the Greek, which is translated, AFTER, can also mean, in certain usage, WITH. Now we understand, that due to the limitations of space and time and our faculties to express thoughts; it is correct to use, After these things; but we may also allow for the context of what is all being said, that, “WITH these things, I saw . . .” meaning, that together at the same time, this was happening; rather than our English limitation of the word, AFTER, indicating strictly something coming after these things, later. And the reason for allowing for this consideration, is because they are all still under the Sixth Seal. The gathering together of the 144,ooo out of all the tribes of the sons of Israel, will be at the time of the end, WITH the coming of the Lord.

Then we come finally to the Seventh Seal, which actually reveals nothing, except a half hour of silence in heaven. I believe that this suggests, the things which have not been yet revealed to man at all, of what God has prepared for them that wait for Him. The half hour of silence in heaven, marks finality of everything up until then, and a moment of quiet reflection, and a dividing of time coming up to what is not yet permitted for man to know.

I believe, that this first verse of chapter eight, is the end of the summary of the book; and that from the next sentence on, begins what exactly those things are. For it soon becomes clear, that while the descriptions themselves vary, according to the particular aspect of what is being shown; the same things are happening, apparently again and again. But they are not, again and again, but multiple views of the same things; and all expounding what was first seen when Jesus opened the Seven Seals.

What should intrigue us greatly, and spark our desire and fervent prayers for understanding; is how the Lord said, “Him that reads, let him understand;” and, “Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” For if there’s anything least understood, than the prophecy of Daniel about the placing of the abomination of desolation; or any book of the Bible apparently more locked up than Revelation; I am curious to know what they are. But the very fact that the Lord said, that they are unsealed to us, and that we should understand when we read; to me means, that we have to meet certain conditions and prerequisites. For God does teach man knowledge, and from His lips goes understanding. So our part then is really want it bad enough, and for all the right reasons according to Him who has that knowledge for us: which He has plainly indicated, that we will need it when the time comes!

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel not only to prove that God is the great “I AM” but to invoke the people of Israel to quit “limping between two different opinions. If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him” (1 Kings 18:21). Though the idol’s prophets called to Baal for hours to accept their offering, it was to no avail. Elijah then prepared an altar and spoke to God Almighty, saying, “Let it be known this day that you are God,” and fire fell immediately from heaven and consumed his offering and the stones upon which it lay (vv. 36-38).

God the Father’s response to prayer is contrasted with human response in a parable Jesus told of a person who implored his friend with impertinent persistence for help at midnight. The friend finally responded and complied with the inconvenient request (Luke 11:5-8). J. Vernon McGee wrote, “You do not have to storm the gate of heaven to get God to answer your prayer.” The Lord has not gone to bed as the man at midnight nor as Elijah accused Baal. He is very much awake and attentive to you. 

 
The Father never views the prayers of His children as bothersome. His answer may be delayed, or He may say no because you do not ask for what is best, but He always hears and listens. As you reach out in prayer, search your heart and make sure you are coming to Him with the humility, respect, and love due Him. 

Then pray for the people of this nation who are limping along in darkness. Intercede for their hearts to be convicted to know the God who answers prayer.

Reading and searching around, I come across many different ways of looking at our scriptures. One of the most effective tools is in dating when it was written. (You may remember I discussed how some do that with the books of Moses.)

When were the Gospels written? When were Paul’s letters written? So forth and so on. And a reliable indicator is that the further away from Christ these things are pushed in time, the more the person dating the writing is trying to undermine Christ.

I, unfortunately, like everyone else, don’t have those dates. But, those that claim they do are almost always pushing an agenda, and it is not one that will uplift your faith.

I fell into works from one such group looking at books on Paul. The group is Westar and it is the group that held the Jesus Seminar. If you haven’t heard about them, they claimed to try to find the ‘historical Jesus’ by voting on scriptures to say if Jesus really said or did the things the scriptures say. But they also added the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas and assert they know what is in Q (from the German for source, a hypothetical source for the gospels not ascribed to John.)

In the page of podcast interviews on Paul, one of the interviewers actually said the Jesus Seminar was a response to Jerry Falwell’s prominence in the 80’s. Looking at it that way, they didn’t like the faithful having political power so they decided to attack all faith in Christ.

But they never say they are doing this to attack your faith. And they never admit they are trying to shove modern nonsense on believers. But they are sure to bring up that nonsense as an aside. And they always sound so reasonable while giving these friendly interviews.

And it is not just these people. There are a lot of crazy agendas being pushed.

As to why undermine Paul? I guess it wasn’t enough to undermine Jesus. There are surely lots of teachings they can dispense with by dispensing with the letters containing those teachings. But that isn’t enough. They also have to take those teachings out of the letters they say Paul wrote. And they do. One of them even presented a ‘new translation’ of Paul’s letters into English.

Good morning all! I hope all of you have as great a day as Sherry and I are having.

It is a wonderful morning even though it is rainy and cold here.

First off, Niki’s cancer is still not growing and she is feeling better and finally starting to put back on some weight. They have limited the potency of the chemo because of the need for her to put on weight and if she keep it up she may get to where they can up the dose and push it into remission. She has been feeling well enough she has not had to use the pain pump much and has been able to get up and about some. All hopeful signs and it is great to hear her being happy and optimistic for the first time in quit awhile. For the first time I think she believes she has a chance of beating this.

Secondly, my fever broke and I am feeling much better today. Today I feel up to eating a nice big dinner for the first time in four days.

Finally. A week ago we bought coats for the our dogs. They are made by Carhart and are the heavy ducting outside with quilted liner. Easy to get on and off. A Velcro strap across the chest and one around the belly and they’re ready to go. Both of our dogs are spoiled rotten and don’t like going out in the rain. But when I put the coats on them, they seem to have no problem.

We are at a juncture where we have to wait a bit on further construction. A few details on the trim and then next week, hopefully they will be getting the windows and doors in the sunroom and garage. Just a matter of waiting for weather and subcontractors.

Well everybody and his brother have been forecasting December to have above average temperatures for most of the US. Now the models are backing off on that. The MJO is transitioning through the warmer phases much faster and at a lower amplitude than expected and appears be headed towards the colder winter phases of 8, 1 and 2 where it is expected to hang out for some time to come.

So if we get some warmer weather with highs in the 50’s later this week up here at my Indiana home, it isn’t going to last long.

Here is a look at the MJO (Maden Julian Oscillation). Black is what has already occurred. The center circle denotes the “null phase” OIW very low amplitude. Teh further outside the circle the line goes, the higher the amplitude and the greater the effect on temperatures.

And here is how the temperature patterns correspond to the MJO during the winter months.

I hope Hamas have diving equipment because the tunnels which don’t contain hostages are about to be flooded. See the hose ?
