I think this year more and more are anticipating the arrival of God’s Promise… for us the birth of Christ is the gift we look forward to with immense joy. Our tradition is to watch Carols from Kings College on Christmas Eve. There is no service like it.
I think more lights are going up and more professions of faith in The One True God are being sent out.

The Geni offers you a one special wish; namely, you can all by yourself apply — without the seemly endless and insurmountable political hassles — one amendment to the US Constitution. What is the one amendment more than anything else that you would like to be applied to the Constitution? And why?
You can mention more than one, but please be clear which one is at the top of your list and why.
An amendment to abolish and forbid political parties and to ban lobbyists. It would include a section requiring all funding of politicians be publicly published and would ban any and all funding not originating in the politician’s district.
No new ones…..but if you asked pick one to be removed, it would be the 17th.
I’m with Cactus on this one. The only other consideration for me would be to abolish Article 1, Sec. 8, 2nd clause…the ability to borrow money.

Term limits to include NO private or commercial interest funding of any political candidates.
A person’s run should be free of charge and free of coercion as a public service to serving and thereby grant even a poor commoner the chance to serve our local and federal government. Many choose not to serve because they can’t compete with war chests. They shouldn’t have to.
Every candidate would receive FREE media on public television to express their platforms and must answer basic questions to identify hot topic stances (no cable subscription necessary for viewing) available on wrap 24 hours a day 7 days per week before, during, and after election and there would be a search feature to find your candidates. Include their tax returns and SEC holdings for 2 years prior to and 2 years after term end… in case they choose to come back during cooling off period. After election, keep the winners on there so new constituents to their districts can learn their candidates with ease. Purge the unsuccessful candidates or the elected representatives during their cool off periods in which they are not running.
All of them… right down to and including the local school board and dog catcher. Judges must have a short resume of cases, quick synopsis of case, and ruling as viewable public record.
Term limits mandatory with cooling off period… for everyone. No more lifers.
For instance, serve 4 years and cool off for 2 years, and then give freedom to run again with contract and ongoing auditing that when serving public office, none shall profit more than the pay the office provides.
Travel, food, lodging, healthcare, wardrobe uniform attire, all subsidized… so even the modest may serve and a uniform because then none shall be set above another due to socio-economic differences.
Give them a max that they can accept as gifts from the public but worth no more than a lunch or a baseball cap and this must be reported and audited regularly for conformance.
A representative committee of equals.
Once term is over… pay and benefits is over… and back to being normal Americans with distinguished service to country. No lifetime benefits just during term of service.
Let one’s voting record be their badges of honor or disgrace. Their voting record for four years prior to their run, during their service, and after their run, listed in real time on their televised profile.
We need to KNOW our representatives without financial manipulations or media blockade.
If they wish to gain monetarily for their service, they must turn in their pen, cell phone, and representative voting rights before conducting any lucrative career.
Let’s restore these representatives to positions of honor and trust.

A limitation of all government activity to cost no more that 3% of GDP that must be fully paid for through import taxes.
What is needed is to starve the beast. Government corruption you will have with you always, but if it is kept small, then that corruption becomes almost irrelevant.
This is a common error regarding the art of statecraft and does the opposite of its appearance. An amendment “limiting” the spending to no more than 3% of the GDP is linking spending to GDP. The only spending authorized in the Constitution is on the subjects they may address, not the GDP. So, this is no limitation at all, but a new authority to spend. Do you see? In the same vein, “limiting” spending to 3% of the GDP is the same as permission to spend up to 3%, yes?..as there is no authority to spend any amount linked to the GDP.
Yes, but the US federal government is currently spending 26% of GDP. Strangle the beast and all the fascist schemes of the left evaporate. We cannot have liberty while the government commands 26% of GDP. Do this and then enforce the 10th Amendment.
I agree that spending is way beyond sustainable…and way beyond lawful, constitutional spending.
The percentage does not matter. Watch the linkage, not the percentage. It’s the linking of spending by amendment to something other than the enumerated powers…which makes it a new authority to spend, not a limitation.
No amendment will throttle this government that is hell bent on violating the Constitution on a daily basis.
Your last comment is the most salient. The complete abrogation of the 10th Amendment implies that your suggestion has already been bypassed. Putting a cap on the size of the grift is necessary, in my humble opinion.

Be careful. That’s one heck of an amendment! The Term Limits effort is a distraction.
We already have term limits for U.S. Representatives & Senators – just vote them out of office.
But we keep re-electing the same people! So, the people in the term limits movement seek to impose term limits by amending the Constitution to impose them. And somehow, this is supposed to fix our problems.
But the term limits movement is a distraction which diverts us from dealing with the real cause of our problems: Our legislators disregard the Constitution. So why do we keep re-electing them? Because we don’t care that they disregard the Constitution, or we don’t have a clue as to what the Constitution means.

It would be a start to require that our Constitution in its original form be followed as written. No clever “interpretations” by activist “judges”. No twisting of the language. As with Congress who keep passing law after law after law after law, more does not mean better. It was explicit to start with.
It doesn’t matter anyway at this point. Courts rule that something is unconstitutional, the other two branches ignore (see Biden after the recent SC ruling on student loans…they said ” No”; he said “Go to hell”)
Which essentially eliminates one branch of government and rather makes that precious document moot.

Personally, I am much more in favor of consecutive term limits with the additional feature that while in office soliciting money is strictly forbidden. This would force the politician to live with his decisions in his home district before being allow to run for office again.

“strictly forbidden” by what?? An amendment has no force of statutory law by by itself. An amendment can “forbid” all it wants, but cannot enforce itself.
Also, consider unforeseen consequences. Most term limits amendments that have been offered so far limit Senator’s terms to two terms and House members to three.
This means that the last 6-year term for a Senator is a lame duck term. He can do whatever damage he wants for the next six years without fear of not getting elected again. How can that be an improvement? As it stands presently, his lame duck status is only about 60 (?) days or so. Six years is a long time.
Oh… when they strike out at doing damage…or the flipsy-flopsy-do between parties jumping from one to the other… there should be an immediate 86 option to boot their arses right out of office. It’s clear they don’t represent anyone but themselves.
They are to represent US… not themselves and it should be a criminal charge to misappropriate power and public funds.
What I meant was not to use his time and position while in office to obsessively raise money for running for office again, which in my mind is a serious abuse of the privilege of being in office in the first place.
Perhaps you are concerned about his/her responsiveness to constituents. Personally, I think politicians have far less a sense of responsibility to constituents at present — politicians nowadays have more ‘job security’ than practically anybody – than they would if the if returning to office were not so predicated upon being in office already.

I can’t wait and I’ve taken two blessed weeks off of work later in December. It may be really hard for me to go back. There will be lots of quiet and prayer time during that period and I have a stack of books at the ready. I’ve only taken a partial of the off time while kiddo is out of school – so I can just spend a couple of days tending to myself during the day. That never happens and my health is getting to the point that the respite is needed.
There is a new, small coffee shop in town and I am looking forward to attending with a book and cup of Joe.

Yesterday I posted a map showing the cold weather that Europe is having and two maps showing what the models are saying about the coming even colder weather for Europe.
I was asked if that was what Joe Bastardi is saying is coming for the US?
No, it is not. Joe has been forecasting on the balance a warmer than average December for most of the US lower 48 with upper New England having average or lower than average temperatures this month. And now that is what about everyone else is forecasting.
This does not mean that places won’t suffer cold blasts. In fact here is what is on the table for the SE US Dec. 7-14.
And I still hold out hope that my Indiana home will see a white Christmas.
Joe is still forecasting that come the 2nd or 3rd week of January we are going to see very cold Arctic air penetrate deep into the lower 48. Starting then and going into February is when winter will get nasty for most of us. This is the idea Joe has had since early this fall. Some of you may recall my posting about stratospheric warming causing that Arctic air to come south.
Do you ever wonder how they come up with this information? Here is an interesting account.
Out in western Massachusetts there is a substantial Indian community and back about twenty years ago they became really frustrated. You see, they were basically stone age people before the Pilgrims arrived, and now they realized that they had missed out on the bronze age, the iron age, the industrial age, the electronic age, and now the digital age was also upon them.
This time they decided to do something about it. What they did was search about their entire population, and lo and behold, they found a young man who was a total techie. He had the most Up-to-date computer loaded with Up-to-date software, the latest smartphone, the biggest Flat screen TV they had ever seen, and a fantastic sound system! (In fact, he even had a GPS device, but he was sensible enough to never tell anybody about that!)
Right then and there they decide to make him their chief, even though he was a generation younger than any previous chief.
So, at the very next Wednesday night campfire meeting, which happened to be in mid-September, somebody asked the new chief: “Chief, are we going to have a cold winter this year?” A slight twinge of anxiety struck our new chief because throughout his whole life he had never given a darn about all the Indian lore his father had tried to tell him because he was always tinkering with digital devices or had his nose in Byte magazine and other similar literature. In short, he had not the slightest idea about the many signs concerning the coming winter or how to interpret them. But our quick-witted man at least knew that winter was darn cold so he opened his mouth and said “It is going to be cold, so you all had better go out and collect wood.” That took care of that, and the meeting moved on to other matters.
By the next Tuesday our man was just a wee bit nervous about the winter matter so he decided to call up the Weather Bureau and check. The person at the Weather Bureau told him that indications are that “this was going to be an unusually cold winter.” That was helpful.
So, at the weekly campfire meeting the following night the new chief said “I have been thinking more about the coming winter. I think it is going to be an unusually cold winter and so I urge you all to go out and collect more wood”
Again, the next Tuesday the new chief decided to double check with the Weather Bureau, and in this second phone call he was told that the coming winter was expected to be the coldest in living memory.
WOW! So, the next night he told the assembled Indian “I have thought some more about this winter, and I have concluded that this is going to be the coldest winter in living memory. You all had better go out and collect all the wood you can lay your hands on.
The last phone call to the Weather Bureau was such a surprise to the new chief that he decided check again on the next Tuesday. When he called up and inquired what their prediction is for the coming winter, the person on the other end of the line said that the coming winter was going to be so cold it might mark the beginning of the next ice age. “What?!” exclaimed the new chief, “Two weeks ago you said that it was going to be unusually cold, and last week you said that it was going to be the coldest in living memory, and now THIS! How do you come up with these predictions anyway?”
The Weather Bureau man said: “We have the biggest and best computers that money can buy, and we have legions of scientist, software engineers, and data collecting technicians; and with all of that we can predict tomorrow’s weather pretty darn well, and the following day fairly well too, but as time goes on our ability to predict the weather accurately diminishes until a week from now you could predict it just about as well with a dartboard. So, with a question like yours, what we do is we watch the Indians and observe closely how much wood they are collecting.”

Israel Update:
–As you know, the break is over. Hamas was supposed to to give a list of 10 Israeli women and children. They know our sensitivity to women and children so thought they can keep some and negotiate men and for a higher price. Mossad Chief who is the Israeli representative sent a message : “We are not playing games, you meet your promises or we resume the war by 7:00 AM”. Before 7:00AM Hamas started firing rockets to Israel and that was the end of the ceasefire.
-After talking with 81 released hostages and other Intelligence data Israel determined that 6 hostages were murdered in captivity. The families got informed.
-Israeli air strike in Syria by Damascus. Note: This is usual. Iranian shipments of weapons to Hezbollah are usually the targets.
-54 Palestinian journalists, 4 Israelis and 3 Lebanese died in the war so far.
-Blinken asks the Iraqi Prime Minister to protect American Bases in Iraq.
-A bit of an overview of what’s coming. You may refer to the map that I posted below.
The IDF will need to conquer Shujaiyeh city in North Gaza. This is one of the strongest and most fortified cities in Gaza because it is close to the Israeli border they always expected an invasion there so they built up a strong force and positions. Additionally Jabalia that is also a strong city in the North but is already surrounded and the job began before the ceasefire. Those two cities will complete most of the North. The key city and the toughest with the most population is Khan Yunis. This city has the leadership of Hamas and probably most of the hostages. It has tall buildings and the best Brigades of Hamas. Once this city falls Hamas will likely break. This city will have a drama because Israel is expected to put it under siege until Hamas either cuts a deal and let go to, maybe to Qatar, in exchange for the hostages or other options. If you see the map on the south by Egypt there is a Rafah city. There are tunnels probably from Khan Yunis to Rafah to Egypt. This gives the leaders of Hamas a potential escape route.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Israel comes from that direction to control this route. But now Israel gave evacuation warnings to areas of Khan Yunis.
-Gaza reports 178 dead and 589 injured. The IDF threw leaflets telling to areas of Khan Yunis to move south to Rafah.
The IDF bombarded targets in Khan Yunis. Lots of complaints by residents of Khan Yunis to media. IDF distributed a map with a very detailed division to many zones to control who needs to move and when. It seems like some new action to reduce the quantity of evacuation at the request of the Biden Administration (my guess because we didn’t bother to analyze cities to little zones before). The IDF is calling the citizens to follow the detailed maps and the instructions on media as to where to go as to save lives. The IDF also spread leaflets in some areas and protected routes to leave. Note: I hope those maps are not giving the IDF a disadvantage of revealing its attack plans. But the IDF is using so much force that the designated zones don’t have a chance. By the way by now we have so many Hamas prisoners and I know that there is a lot of information that was extracted and is going to give us some advantages.
-More “release the hostages” demonstrations in Israel with thousands of people and volunteer celebrity singers.
-Israel reported that its intending to create a buffer zone from the border into Gaza to be a safe protection area.
– I read an article in Israeli news about Generation Z in the US (The latest Generation of young people). Apparently there is a wave on TickTock of people who discover Islam and some become Muslims. Magen Rice is an African American, well known one on Social Media who started with support to Palestine and then discovered Islam and conducting a group of reading scriptures. She is not the only one, she is a part of a trend on TickTock of young Progressives who “discover Islam” and find in it expression to their beliefs and values of Freedom, Socialism, Social solidarity, resistance to a greedy materialistic world, and anti establishment. Some of it in Israeli eyes who are familiar with the subject, it seems rediculus. For example Orora Bird the Queer who is telling of a “revelation “ she experienced at the first time she read the Koran. Note: I had to look up Queer and it’s defined as those who are “not normal in their sexual orientation”.
An Israeli expert explained that after 9/11 when there was an anti Islam wave the muslims in the US softened their Islamic version, known preachers started to appear with western clothes, started to talk about American patriotism, encouraged people to be more involved in society and even some said that the American Freedom is the best place for Islam.
Note: Islam has many ways to look at and it’s all depending on the nature of the participants. While in the Middle East you see a lot of Jihad and war. In the US most of the Preachers said that “Islam is against the killing of civilians.”
You can find things about “love and kindness” also there are things that call for killings. So it’s depends on the interpolation and the society in which it is learned. I don’t know the magnitude of the wave and if it’s something to worry about. For that I will need to farther investigate.

Amir is well informed on the situation. He stressed to them to pressure the administration to stop pushing the 2 state “solution” and let Israel do what needs to be done.

LONG COVID TREATMENT – mine is 27 months from diagnosis
Some of you may remember that I have very significant long-Covid side effects.
Forced menopause at 48 years old with no perimenopause symptoms prior. Normal ovulation immediately stopped overnight.Lung damage resulting in MOPD (mild but progressive as this will not heal and will get worse)Sleep apneaParosmia which is a condition in which the olfactory nerves are damaged causing random and acute phantom smells that are like smelling rotting or burning flesh, decay, smoke – this condition doesn’t require the presence of stimuli, so you could be smelling flowers or not smelling anything at all and sitting quietly and focused on something else when these waves hitMy thyroid (formerly diagnosed Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism with pregnancy with daughter 17 years ago – so longtime user of Levothyroxine – now only using Armour as it has T3 and T4’s whereas Levo only has T4’s that it depends upon body to convert to T3’s which can become problematic with aging and long term use)2 sets of full blood panels pulled in May 2023 in which 6 and 7 of my key indicators where outrageously off the charts. Doc tried to force me on statins – I refused. My CT scan of my heart subsequently revealed my heart was perfect with 0% blockages or abnormalities.The Functional Medicine practitioner 21 different blood tests for me including full panels, and TSH, free T4, free T3, and T3 reverse, and Cortisol. She will also be checking my Cortisol levels because my body is continuing to attack itself – thinks stress and inflammation. This is the “fight or flight” response of the neurological system.
Our health insurance *SHOULD* cover the blood testing which will be directly billed to insurer by the laboratory. (Until they find a way to wiggle out of paying it because they do NOT cover the doctor… of course.)
The TREATMENT PROTOCOL for long-Covid follows the Frontline Doctors method (who incidentally I credit with saving my life during infection) includes the following:
4 GRAMS of Omega-3600 mg NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) two times per dayand a step method of LOW DOSE Naltrexone HCL stepped from 1.5 mg up to 4.5 mg over a multi week step up process.Notes: Yes, that is A LOT of Omega-3. A LOT. However, when I had my car accident in 2018 and suffered a multi-month concussion – I was treated by a well known sports medicine clinic that deals in athlete impact injuries – race car drivers and football players – I was prescribed 3 Grams per day for brain health. This lent credibility to me in my mind of the high dosage effects for brain health. I believe I have brain damage in the area of the olfactory nerves causing the extended Parosmia.
Next, Naltrexone HCL – yes, you read that right. It is a drug used in much higher dosages (50 mg range) to treat drug dependency for alcohol and opioid use. However, it is being administered in stepped up LOW DOSE up to 4.5 mg to attempt to get the body to reset itself. It treats chronic pain and autoimmune disorders. You have to purchase this lower dose through an apothecary compounding pharmacy – but it is inexpensive – cost me about $25 a month and this protocol will go on for around 3 to 4 months.
We waited FIVE MONTHS for appointment with Functional Medicine practitioner. Ours is a Nurse Practitioner and thus far, we absolutely love her. We paid each $150 to see her. Cash, they don’t accept our crappy marketplace health insurance.
A side note: I work for small business and marketplace insurance is the only insurance we can purchase as small business. We TRIED everything to navigate away and premiums jumped to $2,500/month from our existing $1,000/month to make a change to non-marketplace insurance. Marketplace insurance is merely a legal trap to take more of our money to subsidize others who we would never choose to subsidize through voting for it!! I was refused a CPAP because I refused a $9/month payment plan – because I wanted to pay for the equipment outright and was told by health insurer that I had the right to do so. Turns out equipment provider never filed insurance claim, nor would the crappy public doctor perform a peer-to-peer review to get the claim through. Thus, no CPAP. I have a parenting plan in which both parents must insure daughter for health insurance, so there is no “abstaining” from marketplace. We are forced into some form of policy with them to maintain legal compliance.
Please NOTE that this is not intended to give you individualized medical advice. You must consult a doctor (a good one) to form a treatment plan that is right for you. Please do not give up on Direct Pay doctors because they seem “out of reach” or financially unfeasible. This one has thus far fit within our budget and my intent is to lower the marketplace insurance to a simple catastrophic policy and pay for our care out of pocket. With the terrible marketplace insurance, and a $1,000 a month premium, we still have co-pays and deductibles that are like paying for a surgery out of pocket – so no matter about paying out of pocket for a good doctor.
Remember our GOD Who Is In Control of all things. His promise in Joel 2:25 states that He Will “restore the years the swarming locust has eaten”. I believe Him fully and rely on Him to keep His Promises. He always has.

I always told my children that I wanted to be “The Book Grandma.”
And to that end I started giving books for Christmas, many purchased in the UK with gorgeous, imaginative illustrations. These in particular were to me as important as the story…so that a child could look at them for hours and let their own imaginations run wild.
My younger daughter started her first daughter on books when she was just verbal, and the triplets who followed. They all took to reading like a duck to water. She even decorated the door to an upstairs spare room so that it looks like the wardrobe entrance to Narnia, affixing a full length mirror to it. They adore reading. I have videos she has sent of the four of them on the floor, on sofas, in beds engrossed in their books. They are happiest when the day is done and are in their pajamas turning the pages.
I can’t help but remember Dr Ben Carson writing about his own mother, illiterate herself at the time, making him and his brother not only read books but also write book reports which she then pretended to read and mark. Would more parents follow one of my favourite British aphorisms with their children…
Start as you mean to go on.
Get those children early and instill into them a love of reading. A gift which opens worlds.

I’m sure this is too late, but we spent several years south of Sandusky, of earthquake crack cavern fame. I remember marching in the band in the Memorial Day parade – and our band director made us do the last two blocks at double time, after a half-mile march! Those were the days . . .

The thing is many of the “indians” who drifted into what became Saskatchewan pushed out other indians who travelled there during the warmer times. No indians spent the winter in Southern Saskatchewan. The buffalo migrated south so their food stocks were gone. There were very few trees (because of prairie fires) so it was difficult to heat a teepee.
The indians who settled were brought in by the fur trade. They were typically “mixed blood” that signed treaty in the late 1800’s.
