Rich, a 27-year old staffer for the Democratic National Committee was shot twice in the back on July 10th, 2016 while walking back to his home in Washington DC. He was not robbed, yet his death was ruled nothing more than a botched robbery.
Although his murder would occur months before the election of Donald Trump, Rich’s name would become inextricably tied to the build up that culminated in that populist victory.
Many suspect Rich was the source of the leaked DNC emails provided to WikiLeaks – a rumor which was fueled by the odd circumstances surrounding his death, the sudden retirement of D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier five weeks after the murder, and an email John Podesta sent to Hillary’s inner circle about ‘making an example’ of a suspected leaker, written more than a year before Rich’s death.
Troves of emails were published by Wikileaks giving insight into the corrupt inner machination of the Democratic National Committee. While Rich was never officially revealed as the source of the leaked emails, it has been heavily suggested. Julian Assange was one key figure who made that suggestion when he highlighted Rich’s murder during a 2016 interview in which he was asked about the risks that come with operating WikiLeaks. Megavideo founder and entrepeneur Kim Dotcom said in May of 2017 that he worked with Rich to connect him with Assange.
I know all most nothing about computers/laptops except how to turn them on and off. But wouldn’t there be evidence of when files were deleted on the laptop? So any deletion after the FBI took possession would show up? Or can the FBI coverup those deletions? Just wondering? I know we have some computer wizards here!

When I search desperately for a non-Chinese alternative in the aisles of the big box hardware stores it is very demoralizing to watch the rest of humanity seemingly oblivious. I care a lot about this topic- as a single mother.
I’ve about had it with replacing everything we own every few years.
We live in this constant rotation of needing to replace one large high ticket item every single year it seems like.
The tires, the car parts, tools, household appliances, furniture, it’s all junk.
We’re being robbed and driven into poverty over this- because damn near everything out there now is a piece of crap that won’t last.
THEN this stuff is filling up our landfills.. and dealing with all that garbage then raises our taxes.
The answer to a whole lot of our financial issues would be to make high quality, long lasting products again so that we actually have a little extra money every month to save.. or put towards something else- like the grocery bills !!

My Hyundai Elantra is a good example. It’s literally falling apart, piece by piece.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in late 2021 ($1600), took 3-4 months to get it. Knowing it would probably not las 15 years, I was hoping it would last trouble free for 5 yrs, in June of 2023 the ice auger went out. We finally got a tech in and come to find out the mother board was bad and the 2 year factory warranty was up. I should have and would recommend getting extended warranty these days. It would not have made a difference in the short run, because they were out of inventory here in the US and at the factory, but I think I got lucky because we were able to find one, which I still have not received. The tech and older gentleman said hold on to your older appliances because it’s cheaper to repair than replace and will out live a new one.

I once went through three front loader washing machines in about a months time.
The first one I got, I pulled out the laundry and there was dry spots in the clothes.
The darn thing didn’t even use enough water to fully saturate the clothes.
I returned it immediately.
The next one was an LG and there was a problem with it immediately and that got returned.
The third one was a Kenmore because get this, the store had no other brands to sell me!!
That one did last for about 6 years of heavy use before it died.
After that I bought a $300 floor model Amana top loader at Home Depot.
It was the cheapest one I could find.
I figure if we are going to throw these things out in a year or so- may as well get a cheap one.
I’m happy to be back in a top loader that actually fills a tub and cleans the clothes.

I think basic, cheap and low tech is the way to go now- probably on most things.
The local rental store guy told me his business is booming and he’s expanding constantly into new things because equipment is such junk that no one even wants to own it anymore.

It was primarily for our German Shepherds; they seem to like ice-water with cubes in it. It has been nothing but a problem since then. We even renewed the warranty for another two years. Thank God. We have had new mother boards, new units, you name it.
I understand that Samsung has had two class action suits filed against it, primarily because of the defective ice-maker mechanism. Apparently they had had something like 80-100k complaints lodged. However, they are still playing hide the ball, and not fessing up to liability.
I like Samsung monitors; owned a few Samsung phones. But, never, never, again would I buy one of their refrigerators. JUNK.

The Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News that a federal agent was carjacked by two suspects at approximately 3:45 pm at the 100 block of 12th St NE.
The car was recovered at the 1000 block of 15th St SE almost 30 minutes later, according to Fox 5.
A spokesperson for the FBI confirmed the carjacking to the outlet.
The Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force and the FBI’s Washington Field Office are investigating the carjacking.
A spokesperson for the bureau could not confirm to the outlet if anything was stolen from the car.
Last month, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) was carjacked about a mile from the Capitol.

Retired Magistrate here: I know some people on this site are frustrated with my responses with regard to the rulings of judges in President Trump’s cases. However, I am giving real world responses, not the way we would like it to be. For those who have a moral base on what is right and wrong it is hard to understand how a judge could ignore the law and just do whatever he pleases.
However, the law really does depend on the judge/magistrate hearing a case. If you have a judge/magistrate who has a moral foundation he will rule with regard to the facts and the law. However, if you have a case before a judge/magistrate who has a political agenda, the ruling will be in accordance with the political agenda of the judge or magistrate.
That is why attorneys “judge shop”; to get the decision they want. That is why I always recommend that people go with a local attorney who has first hand knowledge of the judge/magistrate and how he usually decides.
There is no “hall monitor” in a Courtroom to stop the judge from doing what he is doing. Attorneys can make objections for the record so that party can take it up on appeal; assuming of course that there is money to take it up on appeal. The appeal process in some jurisdictions can take up to a year. Since President Trump’s case is a high profile one, the appeal process was much faster.
Of course there are still some law following judges; Judge Cannon in Florida appears to be one.
Rot in the judicial system is nothing new; it has been with us for a long time. However, what is new is that before it was hidden; now it is just in your face with these rogue judges/magistrates daring people to do anything about it.
I am relieved that I am no longer on the bench. Do I miss it at times, of course; however, if you do your job, follow the law and the facts, it really is a burn out job with high levels of stress which ultimately took a toll on my health.
What I am about to say is not meant to be personal towards you at all, so please do not see it that way.
When you a have court render a decision, it must be based on constitutional law. Allowing these judges to silence a defendant in a court case, without a written reason based on constitutional law, is

Here in the Seattle area, as in many blue cities, the crime rate is out of control, and much of the blame is because Leftist judges simply ignore the law and release criminals. Everyone is mad at the police for “not doing their job” but the officers have no control over what happens in the court room and are, in fact, equally frustrated. It goes all the way up to the State Supreme Court, which has simply decided to just create new laws on several occasions. I hate to sound cynical but I am very concerned that Lawfare is well on the way to completely destroying the country!

Retired Magistrate here: In Ohio it is the Ohio Supreme Court which can remove a judge for misconduct. An individual may file a complaint with the Ohio Supreme Court. A division of the Supreme Court will review the complaint and see if it has merit. If the complaint has merit, the Ohio Supreme Court will take disciplinary action anywhere from a reprimand to removal from the bench.
I am not sure about other states.

That’s not entirely true. It was actually Republicans and Northern Democrats vs. Southern Democrats.
In 1860, the official Democrat nominee was northerner Stephen Douglas, who the Southern Democrats rejected as being too moderate on the slavery issue. So the Southern Democrats broke away and nominated their own candidate, Vice President John C. Breckenridge, who would later become one of the Senators expelled for their support of the Confederacy.
Had the Democrat party not split that year Lincoln still would’ve won, albeit by a much smaller margin. But in the actual timeline they were curb-stomped by Lincoln. The divide continued past the election, with the northern Democrats opposing secession and the Southern Democrats supporting it.
Does that include the “Southern Democrats” from Maryland?
