I find the current hostage deal disturbing. I sympathize with the families of those who were kidnapped. But believe all Israeli families and their government need to realize this and all other ‘hostage deals’ only encourages repeat behavior by Hamas
My next words are harsh but need to be said. All Israel, and everyone every where needs to realize all hostages, regardless of who took them, all hostages are politically and militarily dead the moment they are taken.
The only terms for negotiations should have been war continues until all hostages are released and Hamas is destroyed

Yes, harsh; but the situation is harsh, isn’t it? I have listened to how Israelis themselves feel about that subject; and it is almost unimaginable that someone has to bear such grief. As a parent or sibling, a spouse or child; there is nothing too much to give up, even life itself, to make sure the loved one is rescued and safe. But as an Israeli, it is an existential threat, a war being waged since for ever against them by wicked murderers, with whom is no negotiation, and no peace, and no recognition of even a right to live: so for that reason, EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE is expendable in order to save the nation and people of Israel from extinction. This, I have seen, is how they have to think about it.
I’m watching the US Military build up in Eastern Europe/Ukraine, and in Israel/Middle East; and then how they’re trying to keep Israel on a short leash; and I just wonder, What’s really going on?

Have you read “Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett? It was a fiction of building a cathedral in England…a story of one family unit in those days…the author brought the reader right into the times…and did go into detail by way of the story…of how they were built. The above link did not fully open for me…but wanted to share this book….I found it to be a page turner….
IMHO….there is a God…man made in His own image and likeness…man certainly did not have the genius to create these buildings, on their own…he gave them the knowledge.
Hi Aggiegirl. No I have not read that. I will write it down, just in case I may ever run across it. Don’t get out like we used to however. We used to love to go to Book Stores or Thrift Stores or just goin’ for a drive for a couple hours. Nowhere to go now, except to the bank and grocery shopping, and once a month to the pharmacy. After my Bible study when I get up, and do a few chores, most of the time is on the computer. Things that used to be important, and how I like to spend my leisure time; have changed or gone altogether. Not sorry or dismayed at all; that’s just life. the things that are most valuable when we get older, we had no way of knowing when we were younger. I remember listening to older folks when I was younger; and how I enjoyed listening and learning, just from their outlook; but of course, you don’t know what you don’t know; and many things, you just had to be there.

The thing that gets me, is we work all our lives, set goals, save…are honest people and we get these politicians messing with the economy and ultimately, our hopes and dreams…which make the importance of things…or what we believe, adaptible.

-Ceasefire tomorrow 7:00AM. 13 Israelis will be released 4:00 PM. 39 Palestinians will be released too. 50 in 4 days is agreed. Israel estimates that there will be a few more days and some more hostages released. 4 trucks of fuel. 200 trucks of humanitarian aide in every day of ceasefire. May it go well and we will see more than expected children and women back home. May it end up as a good decision.
-Targeted Assassination in Han Yunis (South Gaza) and the leader of the Sea force there is killed.
-103 Russian citizens in Gaza left today. So far Russia took 750 of her citizens. I assume those are dual citizens.
-Israeli Air Force attacked targets in Lebanon. Targets related to Hezbollah rocket and anti tank positions. This is an answer to their attacks. Note: It was published in Arab media that Hezbollah will cease fire too along with Hamas. But it’s not in writing. Questinable.
-IDF- heavily bombardments in Gaza ahead of the ceasefire. I watched a video on bombing of Sajaiah (a city in the North of Gaza that is the next challenge)and it was really massive, on and on and on. I expected things to intensify before the ceasefire.
-A report that Hamas will also release 23 Thai people. This is after some talks between Iran and Thailand.
-Bibi met the Zaka workers. This organization is a religious organization that treats the dead bodies. They went through hell. Had to watch the bodies that were hard to identify and put together in many cases. Those people are loved in Israel. We know their pain. We saw interviews and descriptions from them. They were traumatized. Israelis were hugging them, celebrities were singing for them.
-More than 85 graves of Jews in a city in Belgium by Brussels were corrupted and damaged.
-Israeli police is preparing for the release of the Palestinians. It is known that such events become huge terror incitement parades and Israel wants to prevent it.
-Israel closed the largest weaponry deal with Germany. 3.6 Billion dollars. They will get the Arrow 3 anti ballistic missiles defense system. Israeli missiles will be defending Germany from possible Russian missiles or whoever. Israel used it a couple of time in real defense recently and it went 100% successful. Arguably the best system of its kind. It will be delivered by 2025. It is considered very fast for such a huge deal. A single missile is about
3 million dollars this is a third of its competitors. If it can intercept an atomic bomb in space then it’s worth it. Also another weapon deal of a half a billion with two unknown countries(confidential) this one is for attack drones.
-Some shootings at the fence of a Jewish settlement in the West Bank. No one injured. Note:I mentioned that there are daily incidents yet Biden is “worried about Jewish violence” that is almost none existent. I am not reporting on the many stone attacks on the Jewish cars who are moving around there, it happens a few times daily.
-There is a report from a credible news outlet that the IDF had the plan of the 10/7 attack including how they will conquer a few IDF bases and the towns and Kibutzs around and deeper towns in Israel. The plan included how to make the IDF “dormant” to the situation that is cooking by rioting frequently by the border. This is exactly what happened. At some point the IDF also knew that this plan is also practiced on the ground.
High officers told the lower lady officer who exposed the plan that “it’s an imaginary scene”.
Note: It is very clear that there is a massive failure at many levels and I can only hope that the investigation will get all the truth. For sure many officers will lose their careers if not jailed.
-Iranian proxies militia in Iraq attacked US bases. West and North Iraq. We are talking about two bases. They used drones.
More importantly there were Iraqi Resistance fighters charging on a US air base in Baghdad. They used rockets and RPGs. US soldiers fought them off. It’s an escalation and the first time the American Air Base Ein Al Assad was attacked by the “Resistance forces”. I am not aware of injuries but wouldn’t be surprised if there are some.
-There were reports that Hamas will try to push Gazans back to the North. A high Israeli Security person said: “Anyone getting close to the IDF positions will immediately be made
handicapped and sent back to a hospital in the South“.
-Now that the IDF has been making tours to media inside the tunnels under Shifa hospital, the BBC admitted that it was wrong for challenging the Israeli claims.
-Israel arrested the manager of the Shifa hospital. Note: He must know information about hostages and more. Possibly more tunnels , etc…
-I see a video of Palestine protesters interrupting the Thanks Giving parade in NY and also a report of a similar occurrence in Tampa FL. Note: I can only hope the US is not facing something much larger than what we are seeing
-A Jewish lawyer in the US purchased the trademark “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free”. He is planing to sue anyone using it. LOL. (I am not a lawyer but it doesn’t sound doable, but well done, maybe there is more to it than I understand).
-This is a comment more than a news. So, the BBC, MSNBC, CNN etc… are constantly covering the poor Palestinan victims. I wonder why they omit three key questions: 1. Do you support Hamas? 2. What do you think about the 10/7 massacre? 3. What do you think about co-existence nation by nation?
They know the answered but this is what we call “an agenda”.
They voted Hamas into office, I published here a pole that says most of them are proud of the 10/7 attack and if you doubt it watch the footage of their celebrations. And A Two State Solution? It’s hundreds of years that there is no single Palestinan in that area that admitted the right of Israel to exist. In fact anyone who would say so is likely to be executed.
-So, most of the news in Israel were full of the hostage release deal. How it will be done in detail. The pros and cons. Many networks have debates about it. In the right, that is larger in Israel, most of what I see is anti the deal but now that it is done we are hoping for the best.
I thought that I have already covered this subject yesterday so I don’t want to grind this subject anymore. We will see and we can be happy for the families and children if and when they are free.

What is the definition of hospital? Is it the same in each country? If I were to count local hospitals, should I include urgent care clinics? There are many countries where a hospital is nothing but a clinic with beds.
How many people are served by each hospital?
In our country we have a hard time keeping rural hospitals alive.

I’m interested in Daniel Chapter 11 and the Kings of the North and the Kings of the South. If the Kings of the North represent Sunday keeping churches such as Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, and Protestants and the Kings of the South represent Friday keeping Muslims, ISIS, HAMAS, etc., then Israel is stuck in the middle both geographically and keeping Saturday. Who wins in this war and what happens to relatively tiny Israel?

I just polished off my first post Thanksgiving turkey sandwich. Topped it off with a couple of deviled eggs.
I’m sure that all here heard plenty about the wildfires in Canada this year, but I doubt you have heard this fact from the same sources concerning the burn acreage in the US.
The 2023 wildfire season turned out to have the lowest area of burned acreage since 1998.

This exactly opposite of what I thought would happen. With the record snowfall in the mountains out west last winter I anticipated that there would be a tremendous burst of seasonal growth made possible by the water as the snow pack melted. That had been a pattern noted in past years when it was wet.
The seasonal growth dies and dries during the summer months make perfect tinder and fuel for wildfires. But it didn’t happen this year!
Seems I have missed something and as yet I don’t know what!
Wildfires are a natural rejuvenative force of nature. They return the basics of life to the ground and clear out the dominate flora to allow for more diverse species of flora to flourish. And for trees like the Giant Sequoias fire is a necessity for procreation. The small cones of those trees only open when they are exposed to fire.
The fact that more and more people that can afford it are moving into wild forested areas and are thus susceptible to having their lives and/or homes and possessions destroyed by wildfire is on them, and not on CO2 or any other “green house gas”. It is a human tragedy when power companies sometimes fail to maintain their lines and cause fires and is no different than intentional arson IMO.
And then there are the wacko “green” policies in California and some other western states which forbid people from clearing deadfall even on their own land! And in fire suppression and not allowing controlled burns that for example, was the reason for the severe fire at Yellowstone in 1988. And in California the importation of Eucalyptus trees, the sap of which is a combustive oil that serves as a excellent tinder for starting wildfires.
Just so you know, out west when you see a grove of Aspen trees, your likely seeing a place where sometime in the last 20 years or more a wildfire cleared out a dense growth of conifers.
Anyway, I have yet to figure out why the burn season of 2023 was not the conflagration that I thought it would be. Got some researching to do.
rah: One possibility: Huge amounts of rain and snow in CA, earlier this year. Enough to keep soil damp and trees well hydrated.
According to what I have learned most of the west had a wet summer. That figures. Nowhere in California is in drought now.

Hamas is about to use the ceasefire to get footage of the devastation in Gaza. You will see the Liberal media diving into it.
The only lifeline Hamas now have is time. This is why I expect them to drag more time for more hostages exchange.

I heard that a Nov 9 video had been released by her PIJ captors and that she had been wrongly (thankfully) declared dead. But I never saw that video. I understand her husband is still a hostage, so her release must be bitter-sweet.
And what good news to see Yaffar Adar among the 13 released. I recognized her as the elderly woman photographed on Oct 7 looking so stoic and calm while being captured by Hamas and taken away in a golf cart.

And because Hamas is refusing to let the Red Cross check on the condition of the remaining hostages I suspect some may have been very poorly treated. Hamas may release those in good condition first for PR purposes.
When listening to future interviews with the released hostages I hope the public remembers that they may have loved ones still in captivity and may feel the need to be very careful not to speak ill of Hamas to the media.

In the Allied forces in Europe the elite units were considered Paratroopers. Rangers, and Commandos. Towering above them all was the elite of the elite, the First Special Service Force often referred
to as The Devils Brigade.
Do not think that the movie The Devils Brigade is a true representation of how the men were selected though it is at least a reasonable representation of the training, drama of command, and actions. Here is a 42 minute documentary that tells the true story but leaves out some details.
This unit is in the US Army Special Forces direct linage and I and all SF qualified soldiers wear the Presidential Unit Citation from the 1st SSF on our uniforms.
Other SF symbology that to this day immortalizes the legacy those wonderful heros left to us:

The V-42 is an adaption of the Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife first developed by those two men for the Singapore police force before WWII. The Fairbairn Sykes was issued to British Commandos and other elite units and any soldier in England could have bought one for their personal use.
An Englishman that had been a trainer and member of the Singapore police before the war trained the 1st FSSF men in knife fighting and silent kill techniques.
