After 55 years of companionship, I’m still adjusting to being alone. Don’t like being a holiday orphan so I’ve learned that it’s perfectly ok ask close friends for a dinner invite. The boys can recline on the limitless recliners in the living room in front of the big screen. You know… for the turkey comas. After the meal, we can recline and laugh to “Fred Claus” with Vince Vaughn.
Dishes wash themselves this year, so no work there… just eat, relax, and to go boxes of all your favorite leftovers.
I’d gladly join but the dinner here is at 3, so I won’t have any room left in my stomach. This year we are providing the venue, the ice cream and wine. Daughter and son in law are doing the cooking with two twenty pound turkeys ready. Total about 18 people. No Nipper, he is with his mom at her brother’s in New Braunfels.
After the meal I’ll sip on a bit of Metaxa and enjoy some second hand cigar smoke.

Alton Brown’s Oven Roasted Turkey underway. Thanksgiving isn’t Thanksgiving without a 5 gallon bucket and rinses in the bath tub. Lol. Cooking turkeys isn’t for sissies.
We found these small disposable aluminum loaf pans, maybe 4″ × 4″ × 6″ and I make small abbreviated quantities of the sides so we are not overwhelmed with leftovers. (But we still have a ton of freezable leftovers, which are just as good reheated.)

-A delay in the hostage release: Israel was suppose to get the list of people to be released and the release was to start on Thursday. We didn’t get the list.
Israeli Lead Official is now saying it will be not before Friday.
Another Official is saying dealing with “loose ends of the details of the release operation”.
Mossad Chief is in Qatar talking with the Leader of Qatar about last details of the deal.
Note: When dealing with a psychopath remember that it’s hard for them “to give”.
Nothing is certain until it is done and difficulties are predictable.
If Sinwar (Their Military leader and the man behind the decisions of negotiations and behind the 10/7 attack) wants to mess with Israel then all hell will break loose. He is probably with his friends sitting in Han Yunis (South Gaza). Han Yunis is about to be flattened.
But at this point I will just pray for the release of the children and women to happen before the weekend. It will be in a few phases, group by group.
-Speaker of the IDF is now taking reporters on a guided tour under Shifa hospital. Israel exposed more of the tunnels and it is exactly what we said. And there is more to be exposed yet. I will post the video.
-A US ship intercepted drones that came from Yemen. Yesterday an F35 Israeli jet fighter intercepted a missile that also was on its way from Yemen.
-The son of the Chairman of Hezbollah in the Lebanese parliament was killed in an air strike. Additional 4 Hezbollah people died in the strike, one of them is a senior commander of their top elite force “Raduan”. The total death toll of Hezbollah is now at 84. They keep attacking Israel and getting hit harder.
-The older son of Ismail Henya the political leader of Hamas is killed in an air strike in Gaza.
-Geert Willdees was elected in Netherlands. The first anti Muslim European leader to be elected. He may not be able to form a coalition as others said they will not join him. So this is not a done deal. He is a very strong supporter of Israel so I wish him well.
-Families of the kidnapped met the Pope in the Vatican. The Pope: “Bring everyone home.”
-In a press conference today Netanyahu answered a question about the fact that Hamas leaders are alive in Qatar: “I issued an order to the Mossad to act against Hamas leaders wherever they are.”
The Defense Minister was also asked this question and said:”Henya and Mashal (the two Hamas leaders in Qatar) are living on borrowed time”. (“Borrowed time” in Hebrew means that they don’t have much more time to live).
Note: I doubt that Israel will kill them now when hostages can be executed. I am sure that a kidnapping was looked at because it could be a card for hostage exchange. But they expect it so it will be complicated to do. Plus Israel is now using Qatar in the negotiations so we don’t want to kill people on Qatari land. But they are on borrowed time. Another note is that Chief of Mossad has visited Qatar a few times for the negotiations. He is very close to the Hamas leaders. I wonder if he used the opportunity to do something with relation to an upcoming operation. The Mossad is on the ground over there for sure. Probably many of them.
-Intensive bombardment East of Han Yunis , South Gazan city.
Note: I mentioned it before. Pay attention to Han Yunis. When Israel breaks this city it will be the end of Hamas in my opinion. While the North is getting taken as planed, the leadership of Hamas and hostages are in Han Yunis. It’s a real stronghold and they have no more places to hide unless they use tunnels to escape to Egypt. So Han Yunis will be a challenge as it’s fortified and very populated. Israel already started calling the residents to leave.
-Bernie Sanders is saying that the US stop military aide to Israel until it stops “indiscriminate bombardments”. Note: Every Air Force target in Gaza is coming from either Intelligence that market that target or people on the ground who need assistance. There is no indiscriminate bombardments. Note: Bernie is Jewish. We call it auto-antisemite. We refer this term to people who are Jewish and acting against the State of Israel. I despise them. There are too many of them. Yikes. By the way I checked, he is 84 years old and managed to have a young crowd of idiots. LOL. As you can see I am not very respectful to Progressives and Socialists.
-Gaza says that their death toll is at 14,532.
-A bag with Hebrew writings from a Kinutz that was attacked was found in a tunnel under Shifa hospital. Probably they had hostages in there.
-After attacks on US bases in Iraq the US finally responded properly. A US attack in Iraq, 8 Hezbollah terrorists dead.
-A targeted assassination in Gaza in the Jabalia city. 9 terrorists died and 20 injured.
– Since the war began there were 10,500 missile attacks towards Israel at all fronts.
1,300 landed in enemy lands, 459 fell on Israeli towns and cities. The rest intercepted.
-46,000 people left their homes in South Lebanon by Israel. They know what will happen if a full war begins there.
-Israel released a video that was filmed by a Hamas terrorist who is driving in Israel. He is singing the Anthem of ISIS.

Was speaking with someone the other day and after hours of conversation, I was taken aghast at her opinions to the Israel invasion.
Her “sources” are not credible as she couldn’t defend them or identify them and frankly she yields much to social media sites… which we Treepers know how very dangerous that can be.
She was absolutely closed-minded to any dialogue in the error of her stances… as she is my socioeconomic “better” in her eyes and thusly I could not possibly be so well educated. You just cannot talk sense into those whose ego and station in life is built on their fantasies.
There are a lot of naive rich people in this world and I’m certain I offended her when I made the assertion that there are many who claim Christianity who are far from being Christian… just as there are many politicians and world leaders who feign “servant leadership”, who are far from serving and closer to raping their constituency of their freedom, safety, wealth, health, and lives to line their own pockets with wealth… the traders and money changers in the Temple of God. One cannot pass judgement on a whole people due to the actions of bad actors.
We know the origin of the evil in this world resides in the lord of the air. his corruption is far reaching.
We know that we humans may never have full answers of “who started what and when”, but we know the ultimate source and the defeat of the devil needs to be on everyone’s minds. I think that one day safe and economical fusion reactors will be a reality. Probably after I and about everyone that reads this here are long gone. But for now it is one of those things “the news” likes to present as about to arrive but never does. They do that while at the same time helping the “greens” to present fission reactors as an unsafe and thus nonviable alternative to fossil fueled power generation.
‘Wright brothers’: US startup aims nuclear fusion using plasma railguns
In 1986 my team was deployed to Belgium to run an SF annual exercise. You may have heard the name “Reforger” which was the annual major exercise where conventional US military forces would deploy to Europe and conduct exercises with other NATO members and train to repel an invasion by the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact.
Well SF ran their own exercises during that time and teams from the US would deploy to different European countries for exercises training for their missions in the event the big balloon went up.
We in 1st Bn., 10th SFG(A) at Bad Tolz were of course training in Europe all the time and so all the teams in 1st Bn would be tasked to run and support the exercises for the teams coming from the states, or individuals from teams would be tasked with accompanying reserve component teams when they deployed to act as an evaluator.
When as SF A team deploys a significant distance from its permanent station it packs up all of the team and individual equipment that it is not taking with it. That is so that if they are suddenly tasked for a real world mission their equipment can be packed onto palates by others and sent to where ever the SFOB (Special Forces Forward Operating Base) they are sent to, in order to isolate and prep for what ever the real world mission they have been tasked with is located.
While we were up Belgium the Chernobyl melt down occurred.
Included in the standard SF team equipment was an NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) warfare kit. Now they call it CBR (Chemical, Biological, Radiological) warfare.
Included in that kit were two dosimeters.
About the size of a fountain pen. They serve the same purpose as those x-ray film badges that people that work around radioactive materials or sites wear to determine their level of exposure to radiation. Except the dosimeters are reusable and can be reset. on the end with the pocket clip there is a glass lens and looking through it one reads a scale graduated in rads.
As per SOP, the dosimeters are reset to zero by the commo man before the team deploys and they are packed away for possible later transport because over time they show exposure to ambient normal radiation we all are exposed to.
The dosimeters were stored in their plastic sleaves that goes into a foam slot in the sealed aluminum case that the rest of the radiological warfare kit is stored in. That large briefcase sized case was then stowed in a large plywood box with other team equipment and left out on the concrete floor of the team room. Our team room at Flint Kasserne in Bad Tolz, was located on the first underground floor of a steel reinforced concrete building having walls about 1 foot thick. There were three above ground floors above it and the quadrangle had a tile roof. The only direct passage to the outside was a small well window that could not be opened.
When we returned to the Kasserne from the exercise a order was sent out telling the commo men to be sure to zero the dosimeters. Both of ours read 15 rads. Far above what would have normally been accumulated from ambient sources of radiation but well below the 100 rad limit of exposure in 24 hours that can cause serious radiation sickness.
All the German dairy farmers in the area were euthanizing their herds. The commissary had no milk on the shelves, except the powdered variety for weeks. The local Jägermeisters (hunting guides) would not accept the meat from the deer taken as part of their payment as they had before.
Scary eh? But to this day none of my family has shown any latent possible signs of over exposure to radiation that can be definitely attributed to that incident and neither have any of my previous teammates or their families, though the wife of one recently succumbed to lung cancer.
This looks promising as a stop gap measure until we can figure out how to use fusion.

Saw the movie “Dog” last night with Channing Tatum.
Brought back some memories of my father and his attempt to reintegrate into civilian society. He was not successful, as is the case with many. They often don’t speak of their military service because few understand it. There is one small part of the movie that is hippy new agey some language, but the movie could be watched by all ages. Highly recommend.
Please lift in esteem and prayer those who are struggling this Thanksgiving, especially our infant, Jackson who is in PICU after stem cell transplant and fighting his battle for life (further on Jackson in the Prayer Thread), and his family… and those like his… whose feet are not safely under a dining room table but are walking a hospital ward instead.
Esteem and lift those who served our country faithfully… who may not be faithfully served back… an extra portion of pie for them. Hug them if they let you. You don’t have to tell them why you’re paying them extra attention…just do! Huge pile of whipped cream on an extra big piece of pie… make the generosity and affection obvious for all to see. We owe them our freedom and they’ve often traded so much of their lives for so little tangible return in their own lives. To lay one’s life down for their friends and in their case strangers, there is no greater gift a human can give no matter how callous and hard they may have become through the refining fire of service.
For those that have gone on… fly high, friends… we won’t forget you.

Those struggling are very much on my mind this day. The other day, Chris was gassing up and saw a car parked on the garage forecourt with an older lady in it. He walked over to make sure she was all right and mouthed the question to her through her rolled up window.
She was wiping off a fork she’d eaten her lunch with. A quick look into her old car showed him a little dog in the back and clothes hanging everywhere with other possessions.
It was clear that was where she was living…in her car. It broke his heart, and mine when he told me this story. She rolled down the window to assure him she was fine. Conversation ensued with this cheerful woman, and he said to her that none of us ever knew the day when circumstances would find us in a similar position. He did not ask about hers…
He gave her the ten dollars in his wallet which was all he had on him and was glad to do so. I wish he’d had more…but she was grateful and assured him she was all right.
How many thousands upon thousands are in the same situation?
So on this Thanksgiving I am offering prayers that in His mercies unending He showers those who may be alone and poor in spirit with His compassion and the knowledge that He is not taking a day off. That He never sleeps, that they are loved and watched over.
And for Jackson and Frank and his family as they wait and pray for that precious grandson. Please, dear Lord, hear our prayers for them and for all who stand by the bed sides of those they love 🙏🏻💕

Possible smoking gun indicating Mike Pence was involved in staging certain “scenes” behind the January 6th Incident. In this video, you see Schumer and Pelosi taking a call from Pence about the Joint Session possibly being able to “reconvene within the hour.” There are two scenes of this call, and Pence’s end does not sound exactly the same, and the staging with Pelosi and Schumer also changes. Grassley is in one take, not in the other.
Now, I’ve always said that Pence did not have the authority to make unilateral decisions about the handling of the Electoral Vote Count, but this is different. This indicates he was in on the BIG FAKE of this incident. Once again, it is important to note that the man who picked Pence as VP was PAUL MANAFORT, a logical suspect as a State Department and CIA asset inside the Ukrainian government. That alone always made me leery about him.
Action starts at 7:35, but watch the entire thing when you can.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Happy Thanksgiving! Today is the day people of the United States give thanks to God for all of the blessings He graciously gives this country. It is generally a day of celebration with family and feasting. While much of the population enjoys warm homes, health, and an abundance of material possessions, many may have situations that are not as bountiful or pleasant, but everyone has something to be thankful for.
Looking back over the history of the United States and the world, tragedies, wars, and natural disasters abound. Comfort can be found in today’s verse. Nothing is too hard for God. Jesus said that all things are possible with Him (Matthew 19:26). He also said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). James 4:2-3 states, “You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”
The apostle Paul said through good times and bad, he could do all things through Jesus. “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:12-13).
Turn to the Lord in prayer, knowing nothing is too difficult for Him. Pray that Americans will turn to God and His ways. Thank God for how this nation is still blessed even through these tumultuous times and for the freedom to worship Him and declare His praises publicly.

When you build a computer, the first thing you look for is a motherboard, or “mobo.” Then you select the CPU that fits it. You have to decide whether you want to go with an Intel or an AMD platform, and the two are not compatible. Once you choose, you’re stuck with that and you can’t cross over later. You’d have to get a whole new mobo and CPU. So it’s kind of a synergistic pairing; your CPU choice depends upon your mobo, and your mobo choice depends upon your CPU. I of course am an Intel guy so that’s what I went with. I’ve had AMD systems in the past and there’s nothing wrong with them, but bless their hearts they’re just not Intel.
So I got this mobo, the Krait, which is a snake found in SE Asia, known for it black and white coloring and its deadly venom. The mobo itself is black with white screen print lettering and white accents on some subcomponents. When I saw it, it gave me the kernel of an idea. I am going to build my first ever color-coordinated designer computer! And every single component I purchased afterwards was based on that decision. The video card, from the same manufacturer, had the same color scheme; black with white accents. I have 4 sticks of memory, 2 white and 2 black. The slots on the mobo for the memory are also 2 white and 2 black, so I guess you might say that the collars match the cuffs.

Some will note that some of these designations are not quite current tech. it’s true, this is an LGA 1150 platform, circa 2014-2015, which in computer terms is ancient. I can almost see power users reading this and shaking their heads, “Are you sure you don’t have cobwebs in there?” But I planned ahead and future-proofed the heck out of this thing and almost all of these components were, at the time of their purchase, the best in their respective field. The only thing I scrimped on was the CPU, because it was about $700 at the time. Instead I got its baby brother the G3258, planning to upgrade when funds became available. And I had to get lower-speed memory, due to the CPU limitations; that limitation is now removed.
I am excited to announce that this morning, I clicked on the button and purchased the last 3 components on that exact system; the CPU and memory, and the radiator. A radiator for a computer, who’d a thunk? I’ve been running placeholder components until now, and I decided that it’s time to finish the job. Hey, I’m only 7 or so years late, and all this equipment is now considered obsolete, but I couldn’t be happier. Obsolete or not, this computer is so ridiculously overpowered that I fully expect it to last me from here on out, barring any breakdowns. And I could juice it up even more with the addition of a stronger video card, but I’m good for now. I’ve always wanted to max out a computer, and now I’ve done it. Check one more off the bucket list.
Can I tell you what’s so great about each of these items? I’m glad you asked.
This mobo was designed specifically for this CPU, the I7 4790K and its little brother the I5 4690K, code named “Devil’s Canyon.” The “K” designation means that these CPU’s are unlocked and users (such as myself) can go in there and fiddle with the voltage and frequency settings and make it go faster. This mobo was designed and has the tools to fully exploit this capability. It’s called “overclocking.” Of course, you run the risk of making a mistake and overheating your CPU, and these Devil’s Canyons are known for running hotter than comparable CPU’s, mainly because we’re running them past their rated specs. If that happens, well too bad so sad. Caveat emptor, all warranties are void, etc. Which is where the radiator for a computer comes in. I’ve never had water cooling in a computer before, so I’m looking forward to see how that works out. The computer case itself is so nice, it’s going to be my forever case, no matter what components or even complete new system I may assemble later on. It’s designed to accommodate water cooling, it’s absolutely cavernous inside, it has 6(!) fans and best of all it has the same black and white color scheme as the rest of the gear.
I’m really proud of this thing, it’s been a labor of love for some years now, and at last the last few pieces are coming together. It’s visually striking, with it color coordinated black and white palette. It’s a clean build; I was meticulous with my cable runs and there are no exposed wires hanging out all over the place. It’s another good thing about this case, there’s room behind the mobo to run most of your bulky ugly cables. Take off the back cover, and it looks like a nest of snakes. But we don’t look behind the curtain, instead look at the front, where the cover has a large window to see all the beautiful components inside, lit up with a soft white glow from one of the fans. And nobody but me will ever see it. Ah, vanity!
It’s a hobbyist thing, kind of like tinkering with your cars on the weekends back in the day; there was always something you could do or something you could add that would make your ride go a little better or a little faster.
Wow, this turned out to be a lot longer than I planned. I know, it’s pretty hardcore geeky and may not appeal to all. But I’m passionate about this kind of thing and I love talking about it, and if I was fortunate enough to entertain or amuse you,then that makes me happy .Thank you for your indulgence. Now I must go. Little Libby has just awoken from her nap and is now perched on my lap purring her face off and demanding her required attention.

I’m sure everybody here has also visited the Thanksgiving threads, and visa versa, so I thought this would be the best place. There is also a spiritual layer to the blessing or thanks we give at meals and feasts. Of course we are acknowledging, and giving thanks to the Creator for His bounty, but additionally on the spiritual level we also elevate the “sparks” of life contained within that sustenance, thereby spiritually increasing the goodness contained within that “fruit”. This in tern ensures that physically we are “blessed” to receive the maximum “life” contained therein. It is believed that a person “in holiness” does and will receive a greater “amount” than a person who is not. (the same portion). I’ll assume of course that the “food” we are about to receive isn’t poison. I doubt mumbling a few words over a dozen “extra everything” “super sized” is going to count. This extends to everything around us, but that’s for another time. Blessings
