My conclusion is that I want to play more and more like this. In other words, pay close attention to EVERY note and don’t hurry, but always highlight the passages that really speak to you.

Israel Update:
This update is different as it is exclusively about the hostage release deal.
It took me a very long time to put all the data together so I will skip the general news, there is nothing major there aside for a few assassinations of terrorists in Gaza. The hostage release deal is the main news. It can have long term ramifications so let’s look at it.
-The hostage deal was approved by the Israeli Government with a very high majority.
It was supported by the Chief of Staff of the IDF, Head of Mossad, Head of Shabak (Israel’s FBI), Defense Minister. They all say they can handle it without much damage to the overall goals of the war to wipe out the Hamas and they helped to close some Ministers who are on the far right and opposed it initially.
General information:
~Israel estimates that there are 195 Israeli hostages (some could be dead so it’s an estimation). There are 41 more who are foreign workers (Thai and Nepali as far as I know).
~Of the Israeli hostages there are 40 Children and 58 women. Israel gave Hamas a list of those names. Hamas says that they only have 30 children under their control but they may be able to get more with a second phase of this deal.
~Israel estimates that Hamas knows the whereabouts of 75 of those Israeli hostages or can find them.
~It looks like Islamic Jihad and others (possibly “innocent” civilians) have 10 children. There was a meeting of Hamas and Islamic Jihad yesterday, probably related to this.
~There are also 5 female soldiers in capture who are not a part of this deal.
~Israel also have two bodies of IDF soldiers who Hamas kidnapped some years ago and Israel wants to get them in future deals.
~Also since Sep 2014 Hamas are holding two Israelis. One is a Jewish Ethiopian who crossed the border on his own and one is an Arab Israeli who crossed on his own. Both those hostages are mentally ill. That’s why they crossed. They are not fully sane. Israel wats them too in future deals.
~Hamas announced that a deal was reached “after a complex and difficult negotiation with the help of Qatar and Egypt.” They give specifics which I will include below.
The Hostage Release Deal:
~The exchange will begin on Thursday.
~One Israeli hostage for three Palestinian prisoners is the basic exchange ratio.
~In the first stage 50 children and women will be released over a period of 4 days ceasefire.
30 children, 8 mothers, 12 women = 50
~At those 4 days Israel will release 150 Palestinians mainly women and minors (They really mean under 18 years old. I doubt that we have anyone younger than 16 years old).
Not convicted murderers.
~ The hostages will be released in stages not all at once.
~Israel agreed to hold off unmanned airplanes (drones) for 6 hours every day of the ceasefire. Hamas published that there will be no flights whatsoever over North and South Gaza. It’s probably true.
~Additional release of 10 Israelis will give another day of ceasefire and 30 Palestinian prisoners.
~Hamas agrees to let the Red Cross to visit other Israelis hostages and give them medications if needed.
~It was understood that if Hamas violates the deal there will be a high price.
~Israel will receive every day the list to people be released the next day.
~Every day of ceasefire 4 trucks of fuel will ejected Gaza and 200 trucks of humanitarian aide.
~The released Palestinians will go back to their home either West Bank or Gaza.
~According to the Hamas statement I can add that they call “children” those who are under 19 years old.
~Hamas are saying that the deal includes a stop of the motion of all military vehicles.
(Note that Hamas use civilian vehicles).
~According to Hamas the IDF committed to not arresting nor attacking anyone in Gaza.
Risks:
~The IDF is preparing for the Ceasefire days for a case the Hamas or others will violate the deal. There is a lesson from a previous deal some years ago that Hamas ambushed IDF soldiers and blew them up with a building and kidnapped two bodies. It was the worst day of that war.
~It is likely that Hamas will improve positions, will place snipers, will boobytraps tunnels and buildings and roads. Israel is used to it and will have to bomb the areas it’s entering very well.
~If there are no arrests or attacks I am wondering what will the IDF do if terrorist emerge out of tunnels. Armed or unarmed?
~In Israel some of the opposing were concerned that this signals the premature end of the war. The leaders of the IDF and other security agencies persuaded the opposition that its a no issue. The war will continue as planned.
~There are concerns that this time will be used to smuggle the hostages out of Gaza.
Reactions :
In my right wing social media groups people are intensely mad! Almost all of them consider it a betrayal because of endangering the soldiers and making it harder to release the other hostages. They consider it a surrender to terrorism and another humiliation.
90% of the comments were very negative. People call to organize demonstration. Many derogatory words about Bibi and his party.
I also looked at a Liberal news paper and the comments were also very much against the deal. So I see a disconnect between the leadership and the people.
Bibi and a few of the Cabinet’s leaders gave speeches about it on TV but their sale’s pitch was not very good. They all repeated that everyone in the Cabinet agreed: the IDF, Mossad and Shabk agreed so it must be a good plan.
My opinion:
This is a hard one and I am not jealous of what Bibi had to decide here after a 3 hours meeting with desperate families of hostages.
An ethical decision must be for the greatest good and the least bad for the longest term.
It’s not a black and white matter. So let’s make a comparison of good and bad.
Bad:
~Will improve the positions of Hamas and endanger soldiers. Likely more casualties.
~Will give Hamas some supplies and more durability. Possibly can transfer some fuel and food and water.
~Will stop the momentum of the IDF and endanger them if they are targeted during the ceasefire.
~Raising the moral of the enemy, both the terrorists and the hostile population.
~Giving legitimacy to a terror organization when negotiating with them.
~Motivating terrorists in general to kidnap Israelis.
~Making it potentially harder to release the other hostages.
~Risking the transfer of hostages and losing them.
~Israeli population who was just crushed morally and humiliated may look at it as surrender and crush farther.
~Hamas could lie and keep more children and women.
~Released terrorists could kill Israelis and cause damage later.
~Reduced deterrence in the Arab world. They will look at us as weak.
Good:
~A fulfillment of the obligation of a government who failed to protect its citizens.
~Sometimes it’s better to get a certain gain now than a maybe gain later.
~If one of the key goals of the operation is the release of the hostages and we can get 70 out or maybe more. 70 is equal to 36% of the goal and it’s a progress.
-What is the value for a child or a baby to gain freedom from the horrors, for self, for the family, for the nation? Can it even be measured? Some things have such a value that they eliminate many other negatives.
~The hostages will provide Intelligence about people and locations. This can lead to other hostages and give leads as to the terrorists.
~The national relief of not having to imagine what those children and women are going though.
~Soldiers may be uplifted and motivated knowing that their efforts helped us to gain hostages.
~A reduction of the National trauma from the relief of having children and women released.
~Every Israeli, civilian and soldier will know that we will do a lot in case they are in captured.
It makes a stronger connection to the nation.
~This could be looked upon as a great deal because Hamas didn’t insist on releasing convicted killers. In the past it was always the killers that they wanted.
~The mental health of the children and women. The longer they are captured the more damage is done.
~We already had a few hostages who were murdered in capture so time can mean death to more hostages.
~The IDF are saying that they can deal with it. So not taking an opportunity for a few days of a pause? Is that justified? Those Palestinian prisoners are not important. If they don’t have blood on their hands they are just not important to worry about they can always be picked up back to jail.
-The morale of the Israeli leaders is also important. Watching the families reunite can be very uplifting and of moral spiritual value.
~It’s close to impossible to rescue hostages who are sitting in boobytraps narrow tunnels so here we have an opportunity.
~I heard a report of Brigade commander saying: “Give them all the prisoners for the hostages. Everyone they want. Don’t worry. Just get the hostages home. We will find every one of them and kill them all.” In other words we have control over most of Gaza now and can get to those we release in Gaza and to anyone eventually.
-The upper Security establishment are unanimous about it. So I guess they feel confident the damage is not too great. They must know some things better than us who are not involved.
~What Will anyone tell the families of the children and babies if they end up dead and we didn’t take the opportunity to release them?
~We don’t want to be perceived in the West as not willing to do a deal.
In the Jewish religion we have a say: “He who saves one soul as if saved the entire world”.
While it was in the past taken out of proportion when releasing 1100 killers for one soldier and they needed up killing many, this say is here or remind us that every sound is important.
We are not dealing here with mathematical formulas.

This is an agonizing situation. I think there is no right or wrong answer. I consider IDF soldiers’ lives to be of equal value. But I’m biased. My “children” are soldiers, but when they visit me sometimes in my dreams, they are still three-years-old, or six, or twelve. So my sympathies are with all of the parents and family in Israel.
By the same token I might be somewhat hardened. There is a difference between what Hamas did — rape, torture, terrorize — and what soldiers do. Just kill the vermin, all of them.
So let’s see what happens.

David: Thanks for your detailed analysis. The decision probably came down to the amount of arms remaining in Israel’s stockpile. I think the JoeBama mis-administration was/is absolutely hellbent on a political “success” for itself, and threatened to cut off or severly limit arms replenishment to Israel. Israel cannot only think about Hamas. Israel also has to deal with Hezbollah, uprising in Judea and Samaria, Syria, the Houthis.

Makes sense to me. You certainly addressed all the pros and cons (Bad and Good). One thing that you didn’t mention was the Global Propaganda / Info War – there is enormous pressure across the world (as you have commented on in your previous reports) for a Ceasefire. I know that this is NOT a Ceasefire, but it is kind of a Mini-Ceasefire for less than a week. Israel agreeing to the hostage swap will go a long way in appeasing those demanding a Ceasefire around the world or at least show that they are willing to negotiate.
I do concur that once the Mini-Ceasefire / Prisoner exchange is over that the IDF should fully and completely return to hunting down Hamas in Gaza as they have been doing up until now.

Inernational PR a ceasefire will be seen favorably, however IF the terrorists release the hostages alive and in reasonably good health, I feel that the terrorists will be seen even more favorably. A net negative for Israel.
That said you cannot put a value on a life, that is of utmost importance. As we never know what may happen in the next hour or day. My feeling would be yes on the exchange, as long as the exchange can be made safely, and hopefully arranged on “neutral” land, otherwise it could be a trap.
Deal today, worry about the future tomorrow, as far as the terrorists regrouping and/or setting traps, surely Israeli intelligence can follow, track and watch their actions?

The exchange will be done by the Red Cross who will delver the hostages. I don’t think it’s a trap.
Hamas made a mistake. They did a premature attack. I am not sure why but criminals always make mistakes. That’s why criminals eventually get caught usually. The mistake could be just because of blood thirst and impatience. Or could be the opportunity of the Nova Festival with thousands of people by their border. The mistake is that based on past experience when they had an hostage it cased a lot of chaos in Israel and worry and division. They thought that with many hostages it will paralyze Israel and Israel will just do another round. They didn’t predicate the unity at all levels about one concept: “destroy Hamas”. So now they are dealing with an existential threat that is beyond their expectation.

And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days. But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean. And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil. And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: and he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy: and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot: and the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand: and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD: and of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering: and the remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD. And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering: and the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean.”
The cleansing of a man from his uncleanness, and his atonement, are intrinsically connected with the anointing of the Spirit upon us as the result. Cleansed and atoned for with the blood, is how we are let go free. And the entire work of being saved and born again, is not complete for us in this world, without the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
“Tell no man:” is the first commandment for the one having been cleansed from his uncleanness, however it seems always to be the first thing disobeyed also. Why does the Lord command specifically, Not To Tell Any Man; but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them? Why, when the Lord says, Do not tell anyone; more often than not, men think they still have to? What has just transpired between God and that soul, is not a matter for public excitement, and to charge the crowds. It is a matter between God and that soul, upon which hinges his very salvation. Jesus, and what He does for people, is not for a theater, as if he wants or needs to be famous. And the more people see and hear, and still do not repent; the greater the damnation.
Jesus often told those whom He had healed, to say nothing to anyone. There was one time, when He delivered the man form the legion of demons, to go home and show his friends what great things God has done for him. But the most of the time, Jesus told them to say nothing to anybody. And what I think that has to do with, is that the people were becoming hardened, and were not repenting; even while seeing Him do so many miracles before them, still they did not believe. There comes a time when the LORD stops sending to speak to people, and He tells His servants to shake off the dust of their feet against them.
And next to that, Jesus doesn’t do anything as a marketing campaign, as if He needed to gain public recognition. That is not how the Holy Spirit reaches those that are of the truth. Contrary to the worldly minded and unclean lovers of this world, in the churches; who think they need to adapt means for attracting people into their churches; the way of the Spirit is not on the broad ways of the world, neither does He take things highly esteemed of men to bring them to God. The work of the Spirit is first and foremost, to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; all of which are an abomination to the men of the world.
There was however an extremely important reason why Jesus commanded him to go show himself to the priest, and offer for his cleansing, according as Moses prescribed. The priests were under charge of God to be the keepers of the Testimony on behalf of the people. They were the ordained absolute judges in all matters. They were the anointed intermediaries between God and the people, and were alone authorized to handle the holy things of the children of Israel. The cleansing of the leper, and all the sacrifices and ordinances attached to it; was a sign for instruction of Christ’s offering and sacrifice for the cleansing and salvation of the world. That He sent this man to the pries was to bear witness to the truth, that the Scriptures were being fulfilled.
Moses wrote, saying, that “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto you, and will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak unto them all that I shall command Him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto My words which He shall speak in My Name, I will require it of him.” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)
The Lord Jesus testified to the Jews, in John 5:39-40, and 46-47, saying, “You search the Scriptures, because in them you expect to find eternal life; and they are they which testify of Me: however you will not come to Me that you may have life . . . For had you believed Moses, you would have believed Me: for he wrote of Me. But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe My words?”
The entire time that men have been on the earth, since being exiled from Eden, has been on account of the word of faith, that the Redeemer of God’s elect was coming in the flesh. That was the faith of Adam and Eve, which they passed on to their children. It was the faith of Abel, who instituted the sacrificing of a clean beast in remembrance of Christ, and for a sign to instruct; for the which he was also slain by his disobedient and self-willed brother Cain. That was the faith that Noah carried over the flood, and bequeathed to Shem; in which God also called out Abraham; saying that in his seed, Christ, would be the blessing and salvation of the world; as well the damnation of all who cursed it.
The teachers of Israel were in the seat of Moses for the people, and ought to have known these things. All the ordinances of the sacrifices and offerings, and all their holy days and feasts; all were given to teach them of Messiah, and the deep things of God in our salvation. The office of the priest, and the offerings prescribed by Moses for the cleansing of the leper; all instruct unto Christ. The Lord Jesus handing it to them, to perform the rites of the cleansing of a man from his uncleanness, and then dipping the tip of his ear, and the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot, in the blood of the sacrifice; and then putting the Anointing Oil on top of the blood, and pour on the man’s head; bore witness that Christ had come, and was there among them in the flesh. It also taught them and showed plainly, that which they all were about to do, in slaying the Lamb of God for the cleansing of the unclean man.
Just as this man was in fact really healed, and Jesus sent him to do what Moses commanded, for a testimony to the priest; shows that our salvation is not only theology or a belief; but a fact done, and imperative for the salvation of our souls.

Oswald was the patsy. When they saw they could get away with assassinating the President, they knew they could get away with anything and they have – right up to this day. The JFK researchers (AKA “conspiracy theorists”) are on the trail and many truths have come to light. Unfortunately no one in the MSM will listen (although Tucker had the courage to announce on his show that he had spoken with someone in the government who actually knew what happened and said the CIA did it). Gilbert and Sullivan operas are delightful. I can image the good times you would have had taking part in these classics. Many years ago I went to a nearby(at that time) high school’s performance of ‘The Mikado’. I was not expecting the high standard of acting and music that was presented that evening. The school performance was excellent, and to this day I still remember it, and even a little song in Japanese, that was included, that I had never heard before. The audience was very appreciative of the great evening’s entertainment.
I hope G & S’s fun-filled performances carry on for years to come. That song, ‘I’ve Got a Little List’ ( a revenge list) is always adjusted to include ‘the villains of the day’, and always enthusiastically received. 🙂

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

All this month Joe Bastardi has been keeping track of what the models are showing will be going on over the pole in December. And over that time more and more models are falling in line with what he has been saying is going to happen.
December is likely to have a period of warmer than average temperatures, but will also be wet for most of the northern half of the US and thus we will have snow. Best chance we have had in awhile her in Indiana to have a white Christmas.
But those warmer than normal temps are the result of stratospheric warming over the pole. When the stratosphere warms the tropsphere below is compacted and pressure rise and temperature drop.
The the warming in the stratosphere will split and when that happens is distorts the polar vortex and arctic air is forced down into temperate zone, meaning for us, down through Canada into the US. And that is where sub zero temps come from for us.
So if your thinking about heading south for some warmth, sometime this winter, the last three weeks of January is when I would be planning to be down in Florida or where ever down south you want to go to get a break from winter weather.

Sherry’s bond with Allison is very strong because when the girls were living up here and both working, Sherry took care of Allsion. I was still driving so was gone a lot.
Siding all torn off, walls sheeting outside all on and wrapped. As I write this they are hanging the 12″ beam that will support the 10′ gable that covers the 10′ slab out in front of the garage doors. Beam sits on 4″ tubing columns that have flanges on each end. Bottom flange has two holes secured by anchor bolts in the concrete. Top flange has four holes for bolting to the prepunched holes in the bottom flange of the beam.
Thing are moving at lightning speed. I’m very happy with both the speed and quality of workmanship. That is exactly why I hired Mustin’s to do it and did not go out for bids from others after I saw their bid. They do it right!

Just read a book about the scholarly belief as to how the first five books of the Bible came about. “Who Wrote the Bible?” by Richard Elliot Friedman.
The basic answer is competing groups of priests. Descendants of Moses, descendants of Aaron, and though both groups were from Levi, Levites as a separate group.
After the kingdom is split, Levites in Judah wrote J, named for the use of Yahweh for God and people mistakenly thinking the name was Jehovah. And descendants of Moses who lived in Shiloh in Israel wrote E, named for using El for god prior to god giving his name Yahweh to Moses.
After Israel was destroyed, refugees brought E to Judah and J and E were combined. Both write things that make Aaron look bad.
King Hezekiah and his grandson King Josiah both undertook religious reforms.
P, named for being priestly, was written by Aaronid priests who had favor and power under Hezekiah. This is both to support reforms and as a response to JE. They write things to make Moses and Levites look bad.
D, named after Deuteronomy was written under Josiah, by those refugees from Shiloh to support Josiah and his reforms. And then tweaked to correct for promises made about Josiah that fell flat when he was killed by Egyptians. (For you Armageddon aficionados, the battle was at Megiddo.) It also includes several other Bible books they refer to as Deuteronomistic History. These contain the Davidic Covenant, used to explain why Judah still existed and to exalt Josiah. The corrections were made in exile.
Finally, there was the act of weaving these separate and competing histories and traditions into one. They call him the redactor and reference his contributions with R. The author identifies him as Ezra. Ezra, an Aaronid priest, who was sent from Babylon by the emperor. Read Ezra chapter 7.
Friedman admires Ezra’s work. And thinks that combining these disparate elements has deepened the Bible. P is all about Justice, and relying on priests. J and E are really big on God being merciful. That type of mixing has provided great depth to both Judaism and Christianity.
Throughout the book, great emphasis is made on the shared traditions and history of all three groups. References are made to the probability of Torah authors referring to previous books, histories etc. which we don’t have. So they are not denying Moses, just denying the attribution of Moses as the author. (I’ve even seen archeologists on TV deny David and Solomon and their kingdom.)
Also, the flood stories are in J and E, hundreds of years before Babylonian captivity. Seen lots of claims that those stories were only added after they were learned from the Babylonians. I have thought that nonsense. First, Abraham came out of the area that had those stories. Second, more than goods get distributed via trade.
But by depicting the stories as crafted for a fight for power, their status is placed in jeopardy. Are things included or omitted based on who it makes good or bad? Are things outright fraudulent? What about God revealing stuff to Moses? Is an atoning sacrifice to make one right with the Lord, or is all that Justice fearmongering just to enrich some power hungry greedy priest?
And what about all the subsequent revelations and scriptures that rely on these to be revealed truth? That Davidic Covenant has echoed through later Messianic prophecies and Christianity. Did that all grow out of a false claim?
As far as the claims go, some sound solid and some seem flimsy. Very little debate is referenced as well as very little history of the development of these scholarly theories. But they do form an interlocking web that provides strength even to the flimsy.
The author takes issue with those who attack individual facets, refuting their attacks by saying they have to attack the whole. And doesn’t show these attacks. Definitely does not realize that a single counterexample can destroy a mathematical theory. Almost runs from it.
And I can’t say yea or nay. So I put it out here as food for thought. What say ye?
Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is God, said Moses wrote stuff. John 5:46 -47 “For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?” And II Peter 1:21 tells us how we got our Scriptures – “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” So each word that each of the 40-ish authors (including Moses) recorded is what he received from the Holy Spirit as he was moved by Him. I don’t see that leaving room for post-fact compilation, weaving, redacting, and editing. As far as Who Wrote the Bible? I’ve seen odd things over the years. Joseph Smith put the founding of his church in “revelation”. And it was made part of Mormon scripture. In it he states the day and year, but in flowery language.

I have seen some who avow that it is literal revelation that those who came up with our calendar were absolutely correct about the date of Christ’s birth.
Thus they refuse to acknowledge well known discrepancies. Such as Herod’s death long before, not after the start of AD.
That it was just accurately stating the date as it was known in that day escapes those who take every word from his mouth as given by revelation. BTW, even Joseph Smith didn’t take every word out of his mouth as revelation.
But it was part of a revelation. And it was made part of his scripture. Therefore it is straight from god. So our calendar must be true. So goes the argument.
All those centuries after the Torah was written, it was truly believed that Moses wrote the Torah. That was totally accepted ‘truth’ of the time Jesus lived and of the time that followers of Jesus put those words in writing to tell us Jesus said them. Though that does present the conundrum of Jesus being reported to have said something that may not be true, but was thought of as true in his day.
And you have fallen for sleight of hand with the Peter quote. Not all of our scriptures are prophecy. Even the prior verse makes the distinction. ‘No prophecy of the scripture’ are the words in the KJV. It doesn’t say that is how we got all scripture.
And feel free to use the very next verse, 2 Pet 2:1, against my example. It is irrelevant about whether or not he was really a prophet. My point is about extreme believers who go way beyond what was written or said. I deliberately picked the example because it won’t be taken as an attack on believing in the Bible.
I could have tried to find a Bible scripture that says the Sun goes around the Earth. There were definitely those who refused to accept that the earth goes around the sun because of the Bible. But instead of being seen as an attack on those who go to extremes on the infallibility of scripture, the extremophiles will depict that as an attack on scripture.
Speaking about extreme believers, some have studiously added up all the years that pass in the Torah and come up with an extreme belief that the world is only 6000 yrs old. That is wrong. And real study of this world has proven the world is much older. We have rocks that are proven to be 4.4 billion years old.

How we make our peace with that is up to us. Denial of science. Denial of scriptures. Something in between.
But the gist of your concerns are shared by me. Even if they aren’t denying Moses, they put his story up to dispute. And it is even harder to say Christ is the Messiah when the promise of a Messiah is made an after the fact justification of a false promise that David’s house would always reign.
Frankly it is hard to know any of this. The earliest versions we have are the Greek translations and the Dead Sea Scrolls, both long after Moses or Ezra but made prior to Christ’s time. And we only have copies of the Greek translations. The originals of course burned with the library of Alexandria.
We have no book of E. No book of J. No book of JE. No book of P. We don’t have the collections that supposedly underlay the writing of these books. And we definitely don’t have anything provably written by Moses. That was all before the city of Alexandria was built. That is all gone. Well, if it ever existed.
People with lots of time on their hands have taken what we do have and teased these texts out. They have also put them in the context of what was happening and how they were feuding. And they have done it to the point where they can even associate them with certain known characters. Is it real? Or is it all a figment of their imagination? Well, this figment has been built up by many successive scholars over more than a century. Maybe they will keep building it for centuries. Or maybe it will be crushed by someone else or some discovery proving it wrong. Or the Second Coming.
If we totally get into similar scholarly writings, we find that many of our New Testament books are under question too. Take Peter’s letters. Neither is considered to be written by him, or even written anywhere near his lifetime.

Curiously, lots of the people who write the popular books on these subjects are overtly antireligion. It is funny how they form cliques attacking their own historical religion and don’t communicate much between these cliques. Pretty hard to believe anything they say when they are overtly biased.

As to who planned the operation, that was always assumed to be the powerful men who were outraged at Kennedy because of his vows to eliminate the Federal Reserve and to eliminate the CIA. On this day of remembrance of John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s life being cut short by assassin’s bullets, and it being the day ahead of Thanksgiving, I’ll be watching a newly produced perspective on JFK’s death, JFK: What the Doctors Saw.
The movie can be streamed, for the adventurous, on 123Movies, at no cost. While doing so, I’ll be trying out a new home-made pumpkin pie recipe. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for myself and the cat, using only ingredients I’ve assembled for SHTF survival but still keeping the Thanksgiving flair.
Turkey and gravy, scalloped potatoes with cheese, baked crouton stuffing, green bean casserole, whole cranberry sauce and the aforementioned pie. I passed on making home-made bread. Enough carbs 🙂

We have an update on Baby Jackson. Please keep this family in your prayers over this Thanksgiving. Let’s pray this boy stabilized, improving, and their family home for the holidays with joy-filled news.

It’s been a rough couple of days. Jackson was transferred to the Pediatric ICU on Monday around 1 for respiratory distress. He needed some extra assistance to breathe so he has been on BiPap ever since.
He is officially “engrafted” meaning the body has started creating new cells from the bone marrow transplant. This actually happened more aggressively and sooner than anticipated, which put his body into overdrive, and ultimately caused hyper-inflammation and swelling in his airways.
He is getting the support he needs, but it is hard on all of us. The PICU is not a comfortable place to be, but for now it is the right place for him.
He is stable and our next steps are to wean him to a lower level of oxygen. One that could be managed on our regular unit instead of the PICU.
We are hoping this is a short stay and he will be getting better soon.
