The Holy Spirit will do the changing. There is nothing we can do of our own accord. We come to Him as children desiring the milk of the word. We just have to admit we were sinners and ask for His forgiveness. Some things happen fast some others take time. As long as we are willing to accept guidance.

Ever here that the heart of man is wicked? This is also extremely profound, most of our thoughts are not ours. I believe in the past it was an understanding and in our future I see it becoming more common to see.
Truth. There are many paths that can lead us to Our Lord. When I made friends with the three Mormon sisters last summer, this was one of the first things we talked about—and, surprisingly. they agreed! And every time we met for pie and ice cream (my treat) we felt the presence of Our Lord. We met over a period of months, until their mission was complete, and had a great time.
And there you have it – enough bible content to make many many believers live in guilt and shame. Square your caution with the incredibly joyful and competent apostle Paul who claimed (and I assume he meant it) that he was the chief of sinners and that he claimed to not be able to do the “good that he would”.

My ideal is that I love The Lord with my body, mind, and strength. It is my honor to be persecuted with Christ for my belief. (1 Peter 4:12-19)
Because I love Him, I want to learn His Thoughts and Ways and to do my very best every day to serve Him well. I fall down. I get back up. Press onward.
Anything more? One cannot buy or earn their salvation. It’s a gift.

I have lived in an area where many cults knocked on my door.

I love Respighi’s music, something I came to know well in my 30’s and wondered how I had missed it. Right now I am listening to Charles Gounod’s Mass for St Cecelia, patron Saint of Music, whose day is November 22, if I remember correctly.
Every note has been a joy, but it is the Sanctus from that great work which overwhelms me in a way I cannot explain. It needs a powerful voice. And to me there is none which does it more justice than that of Jessye Norman’s. What a gift she had.
I know what you mean about the “Sanctus”. As part of my guitar program at university, I had to sing in “Festival Choral” under the direction of Maynard Klein (borrowed from University of Michigan). We performed Charles Gounod’s masterpiece with orchestra in Grand Rapids. Sanctus, Sanctus. Sanctus Dominus.
Its funny how a simple passage of music can mean so much over the span of decades. It just gets into your consciousness and takes up residence.
This is true. Hearing it is glorious in its own right. But singing it? Oh If…it’s not hard to imagine how moved you must have been.
For those works which mean so much to me and which I know well, there are times when I find myself hearing them in my head unprompted. I may not have listened to them in a long time, but there they are. At which time I find myself desperate to hear a performance. As necessary to me as food when I’m hungry. Hungry all right…for spiritual sustenance through beautiful music, especially choral works.
The human voice is the finest instrument God ever made.

I will start with an Introduction. Who are the main players in Israel?They are the top War Cabinet. They run the war. Who are they?
Benjamin Netanyahu, Benny Gantz, Yoav Galant, Ron Dermer, Gadi Eizenkot.
That’s all. They make all the decisions. Here is a short explanation of who they are.
I will skip Netanyahu. I assume he is familiar enough. I recommend to Google their faces to associate names with faces. I don’t know how to add images in here. If you know let me know how.
Benny Gantz:
He joined from the opposition just for the war.
He was the Chief of Staff of the IDF from 2011-2015. He has a rich military career that started mainly as a Paratrooper. He fought in Lebanon. He also did Green Berets special Survival Course in the US. He has a few academic degrees including from the NDU National Defense University in DC. It’s common that the IDF sends the high command to do University studies. He was the Defense Minister in 2020-2022.
He led Israel in a few major operations in Gaza. He had his own party in the last elections and came as the second largest party in the opposition. In the past he did a political brave act when he joined Netanyahu at a time that there was about a tie and he did it against his base he did it when Corona started and he felt he must unite forces and help. The deal was that Netanyahu will be first and then a Rotation and he will lead. Netanyahu broke the deal and split the coalition before his turn arrived. This created a distrust and he had to overcome the “bad blood” between them now to help Israel in a time of war. He is currently leading in popularity in Israel over Netanyahu and may well be Israel’s next Prime Minister. He is a man of high integrity and a patriot. He is center politically and maybe slightly left and had some relations with Abbas the Head of the Palestinian Authority. He invited him to his house a few times. He tends to be a bit naive and “too good” for a politician. He has high charisma and leadership. He may want a two state solution that can endanger Israel but I don’t know his positions now after the 10/7.
Yoav Galant: Is the Defense Minster. His background was from the Israeli Navy Seals (Shayetet 13 it is called). Many operations behind enemy lines in Lebanon and other places. He also was over the South Command of the IDF and was in charge of many operations in Gaza. He was chosen to be an IDF Chief of Staff but it was sabotaged by the left who didn’t want him. They find in his past a building without permit violation and prevented him from the job that he deserved. Later he was in policies as a Minister of Education and other Minister positions. Some of his Seals friends describe him as “a most impressive level headed man in difficult operations under fire.” He is known for special operations.
He is from the Likud Part like Bibi. About a year ago Bibi fired him because of things he said about the Legal Reform that seemed closer to the left than the Likud party. He was liked both in the right and left and pressures from the protests demonstrations and the opposition caused Bibi to change his mind and keep him after firing him. The fact that the opposition likes him is both suspicious and an advantage as he unifies in times of war. He is close to Gantz and another Cabinet member who are all IDF veterans and worked together in the IDF.
Gadi Eizenkot: Is also an ex-Chief of Staff from the IDF. 2015-2019. He emerged from the Golani Infantry Brigade. He commanded the IDF in operations in Gaza. He fought in Lebanon and was injured. Before he was the Chief of Staff, as a Deputy Chief of Staff he said to journalists that the IDF can conquer Gaza in 10 days but collapsing Hamas will take a year to two years. He is the second under Benny Gantz’s party like he was also his deputy in the IDF and replaced him as Chief of Staff. He is center views with a slight inclination left.
Ron Dermer: He is very close to Bibi and Bibi got him in despite not being very involved in his political party’s scene. He is a very good speaker and very good in dealing with Americans as he was born in the US and can speak English perfectly.
He is the Minister for Strategic Affairs. an Office that Bibi invented for him.
He was born and grew up in Miami Beach. His mom was Israeli. His father was a lawyer in NY. His father and brother were both Mayors of Miami Beach from the Democrat Party.
He has degree in economics and management from Wharton University of PA of was excellent student. He has degrees from Oxford University in UK in Economy, Philosophy, and State Affairs. He immigrated to Israel in 1998. He is married to a Lawyer from Yell University and he has five children. He is a very active football player in Israel. He was a writer in the Jerusalem post. He met Bibi in 2000. and became an advisor and a speech writer for him.
He was later the Israeli Ambassador to the US. He was strongly involved with the Trump Administration in working on the Abraham Accord peace treaties. Dermer is considered a very close person to Bibi and one who Bibi thinks can replace him one day. He wrote a book with Sharansky (a known freedom fighter from the USSR who became a minister in Israel) that is called “The Case for Democracy” that George Bush said that “any leader should read it.” It explains the opposing forces of Dictatorships Vs Democracies and explains the Israeli Palestinian conflict in this context. It does mention that the Palestinian Authority must be made democratic and de-radicalized and their education system must stop incitement and hate.
-This Weekend the IDF’s main Brigades who operate in the North of Gaza have almost completed the first stage of the war of gaining control of the main strongholds in the north of Gaza and are now preparing for the next stage of the operation in the South.
Forces of Tanks, Infantry and Combat Engineers with Air Force aide have moved into new areas of the North Gaza. The Jabalia and Zeitoun areas which are major strongholds of major Hamas Brigades.
The IDF will also need to arrive to the notorious Sajaiah area that in past rounds the IDF have lost too many soldiers there.
The forces are operating in three stages which they developed before the invasion and improved during it.
1. A powerful penetration of the D9 bulldozers and tanks with Infantry following a massive artillery fire and attack helicopters and jet fighters along large attack drones.
2. Conquering the area that got bombarded.
3. Clearing the area from surviving terrorists and locating tunnel openings and weapons and Intelligence materials.
It is estimated that so far thousands of terrorists were eliminated but many are buried under tunnels and buildings so there is no way to confirm the numbers.
There are indications that the conquering of the south is imminent.
The Defense Minister suggested we are ready for it. Also a massive bombardment of the areas between the North to the South this Saturday.
Also leaflets in the Han Yunis district in the south to all civilians to evacuate.
South Gaza is 75% of Gaza but contains only 30% of the power of Hamas. Therefore the IDF choose to start with the North in order to first destroy the control centers of Hamas.
Yet there are hard challenges in the South. Thousands of armed Hamas terrorists managed to escape the North to the South. The leadership of Hamas is likely in the South now.
And probably most of the hostages are there. The South West also contains the humanitarian corridor with about a million refugees who came from the north.
The South border of Gaza with Egypt also has many tunnels from Gaza to Egypt that Hamas used to get in weapons and munitions, including weapons that were used in 10/7.
Along with this operation the IDF is also dealing with tunnels slowly.
Tunnels under the main bases of Hamas at Jabalia and mainly under the four hospitals, Shifa, Rantisi, Naasar and the Indonesian.
The IDF has indications of major underground spaces under the hospitals and under large bases, that is connected to an unusual network of tunnels that includes elevators to different floors and weapon factories and command centers. The IDF is operating about it by an initial surveys and markings. That is done only by the Combat Engineers. Mainly the Special Forces Unit Yahalom. They use combat dogs or robots into tunnels.
After identifying and neutralizing traps and explosives the elite warriors from Yahalom are getting in. This process can take days. It is dangerous and must be done slowly for the safety of the soldiers and for a good survey of what is present underground. There is still a lot to do but the IDF has already overcame the main power centers in the North.
-The IDF intercepted a drone from Lebanon. IDF attacks back in Lebanon.
-6 more IDF names of fallen soldiers are published.
-The IDF is conducting major fights with large numbers of terrorist in the Jabalia and Zeitoun districts if the North of Gaza. At the same time there is a complete electronic blackout in North Gaza , no internet or phone connectivity. Those areas have some of the largest Brigades if the Hamas.
-Note: In one of my Social Media groups someone made a comment that he lives close to Gaza and he hears bombardments every 30 seconds for a long time.
-More fire from Lebanon. Some 20 rockets. Israel bombs Hezbollah targets.
Note: The rockets and anti tank missiles that are coming from Hezbollah are a problem but every time the IDF responds it’s much more significant because of the precision and intelligence that the IDF is using.
-Biden is instructing to see how to act against Israelis in the West Bank who are “violent”. Like denial of visas etc… Note: this is insanity. Palestinians are stoning and shooting at Jews in the West back daily for years and Biden is busy with a few settlers who never kill anyone and never try to kill (with a couple of exceptions over the years). All it tells me that he is fed those nonsense from the Palestinian Authority which he accepts as “moderates”.
-The IDF published a fire fight today with Terrorists who are in a kindergarten.
-Last and not the least. Again Biden said that “The Palestinian Authority should take Gaza” and the again talked about “Two State solution”. Bleinken is on the same route.
I have explained before and so did Bibi why the Palestinian Authority is no less dangerous than Hamas. Same desire to eliminate Israel only different ways of going about it.
So sometimes in life one have to look at something and decide if he is looking at evil or ignorance and stupidity. I am sure that they are captured in their traditional opinion and instead of working out with Israel what can be done they simply use American pressure and resources to achieve what they think is best. So is it stupid or evil?
So I have to also look at the fact that Trump stoped funding of the Palestinian Authority. He also almost got Iran on its knees with sanctions. And while everyone talks about the few billions that Biden gave Iran, more important is that he wouldn’t do what Trump did that was letting anyone involved in buying Iranian oil they would have no business with the US.
So Biden actually permitted Iran to make hundreds of billions of dollars and become a strong economic force too. This money is how Hamas and Hezbollah can arm themselves.
The 10/7 weapons could relate to this money too in direct or indirect ways.
So stupid of evil? All I can say is that Bibi is aware that he is on a collision course with the plans that Biden is promoting. But Bibi knows how to deal with this kind of BS.
As people on this platform I know that you know the evils of this Administration, you are also at the other side of it just like Israel is at another side of it. It’s very insidious and hard to see when help is betrayal. When someone presents help with bad intent. And this is the end of this shirt rant.

This is the day The Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Even if the two house cats disrupt our sleep and wake us at 3 AM. I’m getting quite fond of my new early morning hours. It’s peaceful. Quiet.
Betsy, you ask if anyone helped kiddo with her picture? I can’t be certain. The adult I know of that was employed by her small Christian daycare may have worked there, but she herself wasn’t necessarily focused on the Ways of The Lord due to some life choices that revealed themselves later. As mentioned, I added the halo when kiddo showed me her picture. I could immediately see the Angel of God and to me, what appears the broken body of Jesus in Its Arms.
It is uncertain to me, though she did bring me art that I loved. I would like to frame and mount her Angel the way I did another piece of her art. I’ll post it here. Who doesn’t have fun viewing the art of a little bit?
She had some really funny ones, too. These are my favorite though.

Kiddo has professional artist in her blood line.
Shirley Wright Johnson adopted Savannah’s father and his sister as infants. His mother died in 1996, so we never got to know her, but I visited with him in her delapidated home on Lopez Island that had roof damage.
The rain was leaking onto her beautiful canvases, and I tried to encourage him to save and restore her canvases. Shirley’s art reminded me of the Amaryllis in Lexi’s art. Lexi and Bern were family to Shirley.

I am in deep lament right now. I realize the error in that during her recent punishment, I threw away her special shading markers. “GONE were to be the things that were distracting her from her studies and whittling her day away at senseless sketches!” I was so angry with her lies.

I have found some history for her on her father’s side this morning. Saved the files to my hard drive for her. Lexi Sundell even had a TedTalk and I could not catch the hint of any faith in Christ. They are very new-agey, but capture they do the beauty of God’s Creation. Hopefully they attribute such magnificence to Him. I do not know, because I have no discourse with them. Her father married a new-agey, too, which is not unusual for the Dark Northwest. In one of their articles, it mentions if there was no good gossip in the town of Lopez Island to be had, they would go start some. That sounds about right from my experience with her Dad.
Neither here nor there, I will pause and contemplate when to show these historical articles to her.
And I’ll be replacing her precious markers -post haste.

God does oppose the proud, but He will give grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). The apostle Peter told these young believers who were persecuted for their faith to become submissive to God and to other believers. He wanted them to understand that God’s way of strengthening them, purifying, and training them was sometimes under pressure they were not able to withstand by themselves.
Submitting to God is an act of faith. You can trust Him to direct your life, work out His purposes in your life, and take care of your burdens in this life. His mighty hand covers you. And, not unlike David who was anointed and became a conqueror at a young age yet did not become king for years, the Lord will take care of you and bring you through your trials in due time. “Cast all your anxieties on him, because He cares for you” (v. 7).
Pray now for those in government whose faith is true, that God will uphold them by His mighty hand. Then, as you submit to the Lord, ask Him to make you a light to those around you, proclaiming God, the Lord of hosts, your strong Deliverer.

I have offered this before, but some time has passed: two versions of Psalm 150 by two of the greatest composers who have ever lived, Anton Bruckner and Cesar Franck.
When I was 12, I discovered the score of Bruckner’s Symphony #7 in the Dayton Public Library, read through it, and thought: “I absolutely MUST listen to this!!!” Fortunately, the library also had a new recording of the work, imported from (the old West) Germany.
A glorious experience!
I am now a septuagenarian (How did THAT happen?!) and am still “hooked” on all of Bruckner’s music! His 10 symphonies (one is eccentrically numbered “0”, but is no zero!) are “must-hears” along with his sacred music. *
Also one of the greatest, Cesar Franck – like Bruckner -was an organist: his output is more varied than Bruckner’s, and it is also quite worth your time to seek out his works.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. To be done and completed – I just could not wait
In all the anxiety – I forgot one important thing
I had not remembered – I was under Your wing.
All the sources I amassed for my work
The one high above all I must not shirk
It was You, Sweet Jesus – I left behind
Have I lost my edge – misplaced my mind?
I stopped what I was doing to take quick stock
My website – went awry – it really did not rock
Of course without help – what could I expect
I must go to my rock and get it all checked.
I stopped again – remembered her advice

Exactly 20 years after warning America about global warming, a top NASA scientist said the situation has gotten so bad that the world’s only hope is drastic action.
James Hansen told Congress on Monday that the world has long passed the “dangerous level” for greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and needs to get back to 1988 levels. Snow represents the covering of all that is dead with a bright coat. A complete transformation in front of your very eyes by a power you did not create nor can control but then will come as a reminder that in a short period of time, the mundane can be transformed to the wonderful.
Think about Why do you love snow. Why do you love the weather. Because deep down inside it represents the challenge we all face of something that we hold dear having both problems, but immense promise
We are approaching and very interesting winter. There are problems that can stop it from being the winter I am portraying which is not even as impressive of what I am thinking this could go to. But then there is the promise of things unknown, the challenges of them. And so it goes. There is more than just slamming each other on the forums or whatever. Snow rises above that. When looked at in the terms of before the first flake and after the first inch, it shows a reminder that all things can be transformed
And perhaps that is its great lesson
Most of you all probably have not heard or read that much of coastal Alaska has been getting pounded by snow storms. This month Anchorage has gotten 38.1″ of snow. Their record snowfall for the month of November is 38.8 inches set in 1994.
You sure hear about it when Alaska has a warm winter or doesn’t get as much snow as usual, but when it goes the opposite way you are not likely to be informed by the “news”. It doesn’t fit the narrative.
Just like this last Typhoon season. Typically during El Nino years the NW Pacific basin has a lot of powerful storms. During the Super El Nino of 2015 they had:
38 tropical depressions resulting in
27 storms, of which
18 became Typhoons, of which
9 were classified as Super Typhoons (Think CAT IV or V hurricanes)
This year during this El Nino there were:
28 tropical depressions resulting in
16 storms, of which
10 became Typhoons, of which
4 were classified Super Typhoons.
Again. Doesn’t fit the narrative so the don’t want to talk about it.
Why such a big difference? As I have stated before this year high Sea Surface Temperatures (SSTs) dominated the oceans. The formation and strengthening of Tropical Cyclones requires not just high SSTs but contrasts in the temperatures and pressures of air masses and those contrasts were muted by the high SSTs which dominated all over the ocean.

once uploaded, click on the image to it shows a panel out to the right side with different forms
select the 2nd one down, “direct link” … highlight and copy, then paste here in comment box
It’s also important to put that link on its own line. It will not work if there is other text on that line, even if it’s separated by spaces.

There are zillions of images on the web that won’t post correctly here.
The problem is – the URL must end with .jpg. or .png. Any code in the URL after that is unnecessary to post here and will likely prevent it from appearing graphically. I think the WordPress software is limited to those two image file formats.

Just bottled up a bunch of hot sauce that I fermented in several jars. Had a bumper crop of Fresno chilies this year, which is about my wife’s heat level, so got about 48 oz of fermented Fresnos with garlic, ginger, peppercorns, all-spice, and cardamon pods. Think homemade siracha but better and the consistency of Chulula. Then I made a hot batch for me and a couple friends. Only got about 30 oz because it was a rough year for my superhots. Too much rain at the wrong time, and aphids were terrible for awhile. I’d say the Fresno batch is around 5000 Scoville and the superhot sauce is around 800,000. More potent than a habanero sauce but nothing near as hot as I made last year with Carolina Reapers. It was so, so hot. Had to tone it down a bit. Two different types of ghost peppers and some Caribbean reds. The fermentation tames them some.

That’s interesting. I look at the NFL players from earlier era’s and the difference is astounding.
I’m 6’6″ (well, used to be, shrunk an inch over the years.) I guess “large frame” but honestly I’d consider myself medium-large frame. I’ve been 275, and I’ve been 250, 225, and when I was in my early 30’s I got down to 188. I felt great but there was literally no way to maintain that size and not drive everyone around me crazy with my dietary requirements to maintain that. At that weight I could only eat a certain way, and man I had to work out. Oh, and everyone would say “You’re so skinny.” The reason I did that? Because I was absolutely determined to get in shape. At the time, I was Michael Jordan’s height and weight when he won his 4th-6th championships. And yes, I could easily dunk a basketball, heck, I could touch the top of the backboard. And I’m white. But that’s not a weight I could maintain, no way no how. Not long term.
In college I dieted down to my lowest weight. I was the lower end of normal and able to wear a size 6!! I felt pretty good about the achievement until a classmate expressed well-wishes, he thought my weight loss was due to cancer! There I was reveling in being what I thought was svelt and he thought I looked like the end result of chemo!!
I’ve been all weights over the years from thin up to what my family doctor recorded as “well-nourished.”
You’re so right about the ongoing effort involved to maintain a trim weight–and the social impact too. Maintaining is far harder in my exerience than the process of losing the extra weight.
At age 13 I was spot on! At 67..oh my I’m off the chart!
2 lbs over for my height and frame…..oh well…….oh wait! Height in shoes………..Pass the BBQ please!

Two songs we sang in choir that I hold close, the second we sang in Carnegie Hall in 1989 under John Rutter with the New England Youth Ensemble. A friend’s father worked for RCA and smuggled a tape recorder. I need to find the recordings to see if the cassette tape is still good.
I can hear it in my mind as if it was yesterday. These renditions are slightly different, but beautiful nonetheless.
