some are in anger; some in bargaining believing we can just do X or Y and then everything goes back to normal

some in denial that anything is going wrong, some in guilt phase that this is all our fault

Nailed it, and helpful to understand that the 5 Stages of grief are not like a set of stairs, that each person goes down in a specific order.
For each, we go back and forth, up and down jumping from one step to the other, in no specific order, until finally at last we settle at acceptance and stay there.
I grimace when I see pueople saying “we are “losing” our Republic, or that the fact that THIS has happened is final step and NOW we have “lost” our Republic or similar comments about our Constitution.
OR, comments about how WE can ‘restore’, ‘save’ or ‘get back’ our Constitutional REPUBLIC.
They are talking and thinking as if they had lost their wallet, with $100 in it. , so “Wheres the last place i saw it,…etc thinking makes sense.
whereas the truth is, since childhood they have had a fantasy that they won the million $ lottery, and ‘living’ in that fantasy, imagining what they would do with the $, the lifestyle, etc. was far more attractive than reality, and so they grew ever more deeply immersed in it,…to the exclusion OF reality, and so refusing to see anything which contradicted the fantasy.
Now that REALITY is intruding to the point that it is increasingly difficult to ignore, they are desperately trying to “get back” the fantasy THAT NEVER EXISTED, except in their minds.
No “wallet” and sure as hell no Million $ lottery; if you are reading this, you have never lived in a Constitutional Republic, and the Republican Party leadership has ALWAYS been one wing of thexUNIPARTY bird, working in collusion with the MSM and IC to subvert/circumvent the will of the people; look at JFK and Goldwater.
Looking for where we misplaced our lottery $, is a distraction that many cling to, as ‘refuge’ from facing this horrific reality, and also part of the mental process of grieving, even if in this case we are grieving the loss of a fantasy that never existed.
Smaal confort that that reality, horrific as it is, will not be denied; it will continue to intrude, and erode the fantasy.
And that we have seen this same EVIL emerge throughout history, unfortunately consume 10’s of millions and fortunately, ultimately and inevitably be beaten back,…so in the LONG TERM it will not succeed.

I think most of us are in the same boat. My family has a few MAGA and a majority category two, ignoring the obvious because they don’t want to know or be bothered by any of it. Then there are the sheep and avid govt. lovers who think the govt should solve all their problems and that republicans are against the common citizen. Most of them are unreachable. Now, I go my way and let them go theirs. Once in awhile we brush on political issues and the state of the govt. When one of them reiterates that they think Biden is doing a good job I quickly walk away before I explode because if I did, it first would do no good and second I would lose a family member for good. So, life goes on, information is presented when possible and preparing for the inevitable conflict is what I continue to do. Fighting everyday for those I care about, even the sheep.

Hmm, Pat Fallon is my rep. He’s generally voted well, then ws one of the absent ones for Mayorkas impeachment hearing. Then within 48 hours announced he was not running for re-election then suddenly announced that he was going to run after all. Think they got to him.
Isn’t it amazing that people are willing to spend millions, most of it “borrowed”, for a job that pays a couple hundred thousand per year. And “somehow” they become multimillionaires. I wonder, eye roll, how they do it?

Was at a hospital yesterday with my spouse for an appointment and the door to the room we were in was open. She read it to whomever was in the hallway and they were laughing at how “nuts” MTG is and those like her. I was ready to go see what they were reading and speak with them, but it was not the place to do so and the doctor came in at that moment so I couldn’t leave. Point is, there are millions like this nurse who get their news from very biased sources and believe every word of it. Unless that changes in much greater ways, it’s clear we are still fighting the media which still has a stranglehold on the average American. There are fraud problems with mail-in absentee ballots but the problems with universal mail-in ballots are much more significant. Still most countries ban even absentee ballots for people living in their countries.

Last week, the New York Times offered a long piece on why Hamas had chosen to attack Israel on Oct. 7 (aside from the sheer pleasure of raping and killing Jews).
As is so often the case, the simplest answer appears right: Hamas’s leaders felt marginalized as Israel moved towards peace deals with Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia. They wanted to remind the world that millions of Palestinians live in squalor and provoke a vicious Israeli counterattack.
So far, so good.
But near the end of the article was this paragraph:

Because, yes, Hamas has succeeded in dragging Israel back into Gaza. But the Israeli strike has not provoked the counter-counter-attack that Hamas wanted. At least not yet.

I noticed the same thing.
Either it is a deliberate delay while putting ducks in a row, or there is a restraining hand on the Muslim ME, or they have decided to play out the game and count the Palestinians as pawn sacrifices.
Game strategy would suggest that the play is to allow Israel to way overplay its hand by exterminating the Palestinians.
Egypt and Jordan and Syria and the rest of the ME aren’t going to play along with accepting the evicted.
That leaves Isreal with a choice of killing them all or flying them out, because there will be no land route out.
Thus the push for “the West” to start flying out 7 million people.
Will it work?
If not, the choice is going to be between a) complete the land grab and get wiped out by a world united against a genocidal state, or b) give up the gambit, declare a “win” at eliminating the Hamas “leadership ” in Gaza (but not Qatar), and go back to status quo ante.

Our role is to protest extremely loudly at the very notion of taking any “refugees” in at all.

Over the past 24 hours, thousands of TikToks (at least) have been posted where people share how they just read Bin Laden’s infamous “Letter to America,” in which he explained why he attacked the United States.
The TikToks are from people of all ages, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Many of them say that reading the letter has opened their eyes, and they’ll never see geopolitical matters the same way again.
Many of them — and I have watched a lot — say it has made them reevaluate their perspective on how what is often labeled as terrorism can be a legitimate form of resistance to a hostile power.
This is not limited to TikTok; similar videos have been posted on other social media platforms.
The Guardian had a copy of “Letter to America” posted, but once these TikToks went viral, the Guardian took it down, which has only led to more interest in the letter and conspiracies from TikTokers who say this is part of the media and the powers that control it trying to silence the truth.
As the saying goes, if it looks like a psy-op, sounds like a psy-op, it probably is a psy-op. Pretty sure the US govt is the only one that uses social media to manipulate minds.
