I think he is suggesting that people step up to run for those positions since they are all up for grabs this year.
Don’t be naive. That’s not how it works in the Philadelphia ‘ring’ counties. They are still GOPe controlled.
In MontCo (one over from Bucks), the GOP’s sole mission this primary season was to topple Joe Gale, a very conspicuous MAGA supporter, and the sole remaining ‘Republican’ on the Board of Commissioners (a county that the GOP has completely lost to Democrats in the last 10 years). Because in that county, there must be at least one Commissioner from the “minority” party. The Republicans are guaranteed 1 seat, no matter what.
They have been after Joe Gale for years. Not Democrats.
And this year, they succeeded. Gale lost to the GOPe splitter.
Now they are guaranteed their Establishment hack, and the resulting political crumbs from a 2-1 Board.
But they are now seriously alienating normal voters who otherwise would not pay attention, which was the cost. It will bite them badly, soon.
The way forward in PA does not yet involve the GOP there. Independent MAGA groups are slowly filling the vacuum. It is a race against time, as the fraud mechanism becomes institutionalized. The GOPe is fully on-board with that fraud machine.
Okay. I admit to knowing nothing about the situation in PA. I will shut up now.

Just recognize that national figures like Scott mean well, and are doing genuine good.
His success in registrations show just how fed up the electorate here is.
But sometimes people like Scott don’t see the bigger picture, or the local situation, at times.
How the sausage is made is still very much a local custom in many places.
It really doesn’t matter, as THEY use slight variations of the same model, in EVERY State.
RINOS in controlof the State R Party Executive Committee.
THEY control the parties actions in the State: the State Chair is largely a figurehead, like a CEO that is beholden to the board of directors.
They direct the flow of$, from the RNC to candidates. They oversee the “vetting” of Candidates, especially the COUNTY RECORDERS, sometimes called County Commisioners, County Boards of Supervisors, etc. the important point being THE PEOPLE that count the votes; the ones that actually oversee the elections.
If they detirmine a State should be painted “Red” they install such election officials with an (R) after their name, or in the case of Boards, a membership of (R) and (D) but of coarse the (R) are RINOS.
In “Blue” or “Purple” States, they install openly (D) election officials.
Maricopa County, and so Az elections in 2020 and 2022 were stolen, by (R) party officials, who ran AS (R) and with the State R party endorsement.
And Steven Richer, and Bill-not-that-one-Gates are STILL “in office” and WILL be running the elections in 2024, although IIRC Gates has announced he will be retiring.
Point being YES, MAGA people need to run for these vital positions, but if you are open that you ARE MAGA, the party hierarchy will work to insure you lose.
Perhaps adopting the “RINO” or “DINO” tactic, of running AS a RINO, and
once in showing your MAGA colors, would be more productive?
And I’ll also add that in most PA counties, the 2023 GE ballots are now effectively closed. The election is almost here.
You can’t just “step up” to be a candidate a few weeks before a county-wide election, not in the bigger counties. A last minute write in can’t even put together the required campaign advertising at this point. We are talking about counties with hundreds of thousands of voters.
Scott is a nice guy. I’ve met him. I applaud him for relentlessly banging on doors. But he doesn’t know how it works under the hood of the elections process here.
The 2023 cake is already baked as to candidates.
So is this Scott guy suggesting that we can make a difference with votes for the GOPe candidates?
There is hopium, and there is reality.
The reality in PA is that a civil war is still raging over the control of the PA GOP. The Establishment’s sole focus has been purging all MAGA members out, even if it leaves only 10 people in their party. They are seeking retribution for 2016 and 2020. They are happy being a minority party for the crumbs. They just re-nominated McCormick as the state-wide Senatorial candidate. And he is worse than Pat Toomey was. And he will lose.
MAGA makes up the majority of the conservative electorate here, and is developing avenues to exercise political power outside the GOP structure. You cannot play and win under the present GOP rules here. It is completely rigged by the Establishment, and its big money donors. It takes grassroots money, people, lots of organization, and time to turn it around. The internal political war rages on.
It is ugly and a bit of an ongoing political knife fight.
So cheerleading to “step up” as candidates on the eve of county-wide elections completely disregards what is happening here. It is naive, and simplistic.
Electing an Establishment Republican is no better than electing the Democrat in many of these races. They both hate MAGA, and work together as a Uniparty. Voting for the ‘Republican’, just because they are a Republican, will not make a meaningful difference here. Scott is a little simplistic about that nuance.
That was the point of my original post regarding Scott: It was PA REPUBLICANS who concocted and then passed Act 77 -ushering in Mail In Voting.
Then-Governor Wolf didn’t even ask for it.

That’s why I repeatedly (along with numerous other Treepers) discourage the use of Democrat, Republican, Red, Blue. Many new Treepers do not yet realize that those terms are meaningless once you “see the strings.”

We tried in NJ back in the 90’s during the Pre-MAGA MAGA days of Buchanan, but the state Uniparty made it as difficult as they could to keep us as far down the ballot as they could push our third party. The difficult situation for these ‘ring’ counties outside Philadelphia is that:
1 These counties are the swing counties in all state-wide elections … and might even be swing counties in national elections as PA becomes a swing state.
2 These counties are being invaded at their southern borders, just like the United States southern border, by an army of Democrats who have destroyed Philadelphia and are now escaping to these counties. Their political habits are unchanged, and they are putting tremendous pressure on flipping these ring counties. MontCo has been effectively lost. Chester nearly so. And Bucks is hanging by a thread.
3 The GOP in these counties remain Establishment controlled, and are back-stabbing any attempts to change their party.
So MAGA and the majority of the electorate in these Philly ring counties are being invaded in front by Democrats, and simultaneously backstabbed in the rear by the GOP. The GOP are collaborators and saboteurs, actively aiding the invasion. Quislings.
The Russians in WWII never had it so bad, politically.
People that do know how it works, need to get the word out on what strategies might work to change this. Few know how the sausage is made.

This is going on in many states, not just PA. So my comments may apply to your state.
Again, where the existing GOP apparatus is fully corrupted to Establishment control, there is no immediate way to wrest control back. They have rigged all the rules to prevent outsiders from gaining power, and you need to know their “secret handshake” to get into the inside power channels. Big money donors still steer the ship. Got enough money to give them, or can prove you are a dedicated Establishment soldier/consultant/operative? Then you learn the secret handshake to their little clubhouse. Most people donating that much money are not MAGA, and are just looking to buy politicians to advance their interests, not the interests of the community or the electorate. For the latter group, it takes many years of doing their dirty work in the trenches until you learn the handshake.
This internal GOP apparatus in some races make the candidate decisions behind closed doors, in secret, on who the endorsed candidate will be. This goes on at all levels. They work in conjunction with their big donor masters to then fund and support that candidacy.
The solution is the model that PDJT developed to success, the one attempted by the earlier Tea Party, and the one mastered on the other side by the Unions for decades: The cultivation and aggregation of the individual small dollar donor and everyday voters who make up the electorate in most communities into organized, independent, political interest groups. The PAC is the doorway. Look how PDJT does it. Look how the Unions do it. That’s how you do it, at a local level.
Get the small dollar donors and voters interested, and they will bring their checkbooks, their time and personal energy, and sometimes even the candidates. That requires expert messaging, campaigning, and organization. The group’s first campaign is for the group itself, to the community. If you have a message that resonates, the people will come. Today, that message is MAGA. That’s where the electorate is. PDJT has a 50+ point lead among Republicans for a reason.
You form these local political groups, outside the umbrella of the local GOP, that aggregate the grassroots energy of small donor MAGA voters, and pool it towards supporting local candidates that satisfy the group’s specific political criteria, values and mission. MAGA candidates, but with a local flavor towards local issues. Then the group endorses and supports that candidate as best they can. If that is someone running as a Republican, then likely the GOPe will not support that candidate, and will seek to sabotage them by all manner of tricks. So the group must thoroughly help that candidate. Your candidate will be fighting both the GOPe apparatus and the Dems.
There are many groups attempting this across the country in many communities. Most are stumbling along due to lack of organization and focused messaging. Because most are formed by concerned citizens who are not first or foremost political organizers. This is not their day job. They are doing their best. A few are making some headway. Many others are not, lacking those attributes above.
But be forewarned. Your groups will be immediately attacked by all sides, Democrat, Republican, and even the weaponized government in some cases. You are horning in on their monopoly of power. They will seek to infiltrate and destroy your group the moment it becomes a meaningful political threat. This is a dirty, no holds barred, political knife fight. Just ask the Tea Party. So tremendous courage is also required. Most people are unwilling to put that much on the line. But each day, the number who are finally willing increases just a little.
Look at the House demographics and you can get a sense for it. It is just small now, but growing each cycle. It is going to take at least several more cycles to turn the corner. Hopefully there are enough cycles left.
As I mentioned above, it is a desperate race against time now. The other side wants tyranny, and all opposition jailed or dead.

On “strategies that might work to change this”;
Right after the MAL raid which recall was a GALVANISING act that engendered a LOT of anger and outrage (can you say ENERGY?) with the MAGA base, the precict captains and activists in Maraicopa County were demanding that the District R party board issue a strong statement of condemnation.
3 RINO members exposed themselves, as they were forced to be assertive in blocking this action.
As a result, the ‘membership’ called for a meeting to vote to replace these members.
The board tried changing the meeting time/location so that MAGA majority would not attend, but MAGA Forces ‘caught on’ to the ploy, showed up in huge #’s, and voted the barstuds out, and the 3 RINOS voted out actually threatened legal action, lol.
The District board then issued a strong, unequivocal condemnation of the MAL raid, and pressured the STATE R party to, as well.
The Young Republicans of Az., TEENAGE Republicans of Az. and the Kari Lake organisation all joined in public (shaming) calls for the State R party to publically condemn the MAL raid which (dragged kicking and screaming) it did.
Mind you 2 1/2-3 weeks AFTER the raid.
The strategy, call it “out and oust” or “bag and tag” is use events to FORCE the RINOS within the State R party apparatus to expose themselves (for instance, you just KNOW they are working to keep PDJT off the ballot, or with “proportional delegate” rule changes, try to prevent his nomination)!
USE such actions, by EXPOSING the actions, to EXPOSE the RINOS, and call for elections to vote them out and replace with RINOS.
Work your way up through the organisation of your State R party, USING the State parties own “bylaws” i.e. rules.
Be aware they will break their own rules, and use every dirty trick in the book.
WE, MAGA already have virtually every Precinct Captain in the Country, and the volonteets they supervise.
In many districts, counties we have moved up to chair and board control.
Frankly I doubt we will be able to unseat RINO Executive boards, and replace with MAGA.
However, if MAGA controls the State party organisation, the Executive board is like a group of Indian chiefs, with no tribe, no warriors.
And, MAGA then has an in place party structure, with which to form a seperate A1 Party, OR to unseat the Executive boards at the State Level, and THEN tackle the RNC.
Its dirty, nasty methodical work, it takes time, concerted effort and will.
The RINOS Cling to power, and hope to wear down and so dilute the MAGA forces, …and in the past (Tea party, Buchannsn, Ron Paul, Goldwater, etc.) they have.
But each time, the resentment has grown, and it has now reached the point that they can not put the toothpaste back in the tube.
Anyway, in Az. the same “out and oust, tag and bag” was used to remove Rusty Bower, the former Speaker of the Az. House, who had successfully diffused the Az. audit effort, and the County Recorder for Pinal County,..
And Bill Gates is resigning at the end of his term.
An opportunity to get a MAGA candidate on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors that is packed with McCain R’s, although I have yet to see any potential names floated.
Any thoughts on Hamadeh/ Masters for Lesko’s seat? Neither lives in the district, although Hamadeh did at one time. Odd AZ quirk that the candidate doesn’t have to actually reside in the district they represent!
