Voting with the squad in never a good thing.

Unlike us their culture, language and activities are closely bound. Many have lost their language, their activities have been curtailed or changed causing much of the culture to pass because the usefulness is not evident. European people’s have experienced the same but we embraced the changes willingly and now we are seeing our error but we can only blame ourselves. Big difference. IDT they will ever forgive us. Some judges slow walk cases to run out the time on certain cases. Remove the dictatorship of judges. Judges are human beings and therefore fallible and subject to getting high off the power they wield. A judge’s decision to recuse or not should not be his own to make. Any decision made by a judge without specific evidentiary basis is automaticaly invalid.
For prosecutors, any malfeasance they utilize, including presenting cut and pasted scenarios to grand juries, should subject them to disbarment. Indictments need to be based on all of the facts being known to the jury.

I don’t think you need a huge anti-Biden bias to know that the economy is in dire straits and the American people are suffering because of it.
Personally, we have cut back on meat and I now bake my own bread, grow a lot of my own veggies, started canning and batch cooking… if hubby and I were not retired there wouldn’t be enough hours in the day to do all that.
Mother-in-law came for a visit recently and she really wanted a rib-eye. So she bought three steaks – $48. That is INSANE!
Nope its not fine….I have been working at my Job keeping Seniors in their homes – I am also doing ok…When Trump was president from 2016 to 2020 – The seniors in my area were doing ok – Complaining but doing ok – After 2020 and oil began to rise is when you saw more Seniors on the food lines – Lots that could not pay for their oil deliveries – Taxes – Food -repairs on their homes – Medicine or doctors…. the list is endless – And More and more of the senior African have been very vocal about the handouts to Illegals and some are even upset with the amount of cash going to Ukraine while they are barely making it by… This is not judged by how you are doing – Try visiting a senior center in your area and you will receive a valuable lesson of how things really are……

I used to buy Made-in-America shoes from Dexter Shoes of Dexter, Maine.
They were wonderful for my feet at least!
Until 2001…
“Dexter Shoe Co. plans to close its last remaining plant in Maine, ending all domestic manufacturing for the company and putting as many as 500 people out of work, a state official said Tuesday.
Dexter officials were making the announcement to employees Tuesday and layoffs of 475 to 500 workers are expected to occur through the end of the year, state Labor Department spokeswoman Kate Brogan said.
Dexter has closed its plants in Skowhegan and Newport within the past year. The company said it couldn’t keep up with foreign competition when it announced the Skowhegan plant’s closing.
The Labor Department’s “rapid response” team was moving into action to help employees apply for unemployment and counsel them on how to get job retraining, said Brogan.

Dexter Shoe Co. was incorporated in 1957 by the family of Harold Alfond, who has donated large sums to the University of Maine and other educational and youth organizations in the state.

Different wings of the same bird…
In recent days and weeks, both here and on other websites, one of Conservatism’s great problems has been discussed, namely, the problem of the disconnected, uninterested Americans, who could be persuaded to join Conservatism, and may, in vague ways, be spiritually closer to us than to our enemies, but who are surrounded by “kulcheral distractions” and are blind to the destruction around them, a destruction of our Morals and Laws, of the Economy, as well as a literal destruction (e.g. Detroit, San Francisco, et al.).
As a classicist, I am reminded of a late Roman commentator, a Christian who lived through the destruction of the Western Roman Empire in the 400’s, named Salvian. In a book called On the Government of God, Salvian tells of several instances of great blindness and stupidity among not just the average people, but also among their aristocratic leaders. In what is today Trier, Germany, Salvian describes a situation, where the primary concern was buying animals to be slaughtered in the amphitheater *, while on the horizon barbarians were preparing to attack the entire area!
Rather than worrying about the barbarians, the town council (and apparently the general population) was focused on bread and circuses!
Worse, after those barbarians sacked Trier, the main priority of the citizens was the restoration of bread and circuses!
From Book VI of Salvian’s work:
“Do you, O citizens of (Trier), long for circuses when you have been plundered and captured, after slaughter and bloodshed, after stripes (i.e. lashings) and captivity, and the repeated destruction of your ruined city? What is more lamentable than this stupidity, more grievous than this folly? I confess I thought you most miserable when you were suffering destruction, but I see that you are now more miserable when you demand public shows.
At first I thought you had lost only your material property in the capture of your city; I did not know that you had lost also your intelligence and control of your senses. Do you then ask for theaters, and demand a circus from our emperors? For what condition, I ask, what people and what city? A city burned and destroyed, a people captive and killed, who have perished, or mourn their dead; a city of which nothing survives but sheer calamity…”

And so, recently commentators here and elsewhere have described a similar situation now in America, with cable television, Internet/cell-phone nonsense, and Sports Mania eating up ever more time and attention among the population, with a large majority of Americans (c. 75%) overweight or obese (40% of that 75%), with schools inculcating our children with fearful and injurious Communist propaganda while failing to educate our children, at the same time as our country is literally invaded by The Third World and a usurping cabal of Communist, globalist billionaires controls The White House and Congress.

As a septuagenarian, I have noticed a related problem since the Barry Goldwater years: we Conservatives want to believe in The Common Man and Woman, we want to lionize them as if they were the brave, plucky, inventive, and industrious pioneers of earlier centuries. And yet, we find ourselves censuring them for their stupidities, their ignorance, their sloth, in short, we censure them for not being more like us, active, informed, and alarmed about the issues of the day and stridently, vehemently opposing the evils around us.
The great composer Arnold Schoenberg, whose music I have loved since my high-school years (check Transfigured Night), once wrote that: “If it is great art, it is not for everyone, and if it is for everyone, it is not great art.” I bristle at that still today, because I want to believe that great art IS for everyone, that the average American can indeed appreciate both Beethoven and The Beach Boys, Raphael and Norman Rockwell, Tolstoy and Thurber. And yet, the improbable popularity of the lowest kulcheral denominators is undeniable.
This contradiction arises in my mind every day, as I enter public areas. Perhaps this is more a problem for me from my experiences and observations than for you. As a Catholic I also have a missionary aspect in my personality, a desire to convert the unconverted, and so I become frustrated at how many need conversion, or at the very least, need to become aware of the ruin around them.
And why? Because too many Americans today seem like those citizens of Trier, standing among the ruins wrought by the barbarians and worrying about when the amphitheater can start up the circuses again, except today too many of our fellows would be asking when their cable television or Internet signals will be restored, so they can visit ESPN 1 through 17 or OnlyFans or when the Golden Corral will re-open with AYCE** Sausage and Pancakes.
In short, we must ignore everything negative about others, and speak to, engage with, proselytize, and convert as many of our fellow citizens as possible…as quickly as possible!
*In the Christian Imperial period, the human sacrifice of gladiatorial combat had faded away, but the animal fights remained and grew, along with chariot racing.
** I thought this was some sort of name brand, when I first saw it on a sign: late I discovered it meant All You Can Eat.

If we convert only a few, that may be just enough: remember that the usual wisdom about our 1776 America Revolution is that 1/3 were like the “hotheads in Boston,” 1/3 were against revolution, and 1/3 did not care much one way pr the other.
Tucker’s discussion about the recently translated Wrangel book about the Bolshevik takeover of Tsarist Russia after WWI and much of the population oblivious to the freight train headed their way speaks to your point as well. History repeating for sure.
