The House Rules Committee has 13 members … 9 Republicans and 4 Democrats.
A GOPe member of the Committee (Chip Roy GOPe-TX) proposed a rules change 2 weeks ago to change votes required to elect the speaker from 51% (i.e. 217 votes) to a “simple majority”.
It would only take 2 more GOPe members of the Rules committee to join him and Hakeem Jefferies wins. This way the GOPe can spin it as “oops we made an error in judgement” vs having 6 x GOPe members vote directly for Jefferies, to give him 51%. This also makes it easier for GOPe members to help Jefferies defend calls to vacate in the name of Unity.

I have no idea who told Trump what. However, I’ve been following the Eastman disbarment trial (one of Trumps advisors on what to do about the election fraud) and there is all kinds of trial testimony/evidence by experts about massive voter fraud.
How would he have not only known… but known it at the time?
Well why is Meadows opinion any more valuable than mine? Or anyone elses? He isn’t a lawyer, why would Trump listen to what he said. Just another headline to make it look like some of the others indicted have turned on Trump.
I am very disappointed in Meadows. He was my Congressman and he was very good at it. He was very well liked, he supported Trump, he came back to his district frequently, actually he attended a church where I live when he was in town. Then when he became Chief of Staff he went off the rails, swampy..I don’t get it.
It infuriates me when these people include the word “widespread” when denying that the election was stolen from President Trump. They always do it in a deliberate attempt to deceive, which is obviously their intention. With our electoral system for presidential elections, there doesn’t need to be widespread fraud. It’s just the opposite. You only need a little bit of fraud in just a few of the right places. Why don’t more people understand that?

All “guilty pleas” were actually deferred adjudications under Georgia’s First Offender Act (§ 42-8-60) which means, as the court states below, each defendant will be “completely exonerated of guilt” if they complete probation.
Zero Judgments of Guilt. Zero Convictions.

For the two-plus decades after 9/11, professionals of the U.S. homeland security enterprise have fretted about illegal immigrants from foreign nations where Islamic terrorism groups operate who, without invitation or authorization, breach the Southwest Border and enter the country every year.
The professional presumption that these immigrants pose a greater national security risk than other illegal entrants has remained great enough, in fact, that federal agencies still tag them for enhanced security screening when encountered as “Special Interest Aliens” or SIAs (or due to the Biden administration’s aversion to the word “alien”, “Special Interest Migrants” or SIMs) to help ensure the strangers are not clandestine terrorist agents.
But new records released to the Center for Immigration Studies last week as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit reveal that the Biden administration has been authorizing thousands of SIAs for escorted entries through land ports along the border since at least May 2021, using “CBP One” online interfaces such as a mobile phone app. Using this program, the administration has authorized the paroles into the country of some 7,332 SIAs from 24 of the roughly 35-40 U.S.-designated countries, including smatterings from Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, but the largest numbers coming from Muslim-majority former Soviet republics in Central Asia such as the Kyrgyz Republic, also known as Kyrgyzstan, (3,852) and Uzbekistan (1,843).1
Democratic Senator Ron Wyden’s warnings about voting machines and election software before the 2020 election sound oddly similar to the concerns raised by Mike Lindell:
“The biggest seller of voting machines is doing something that violates cyber security 101. Directing that you install remote access software, which would make a machine like that a magnet for fraudsters and hackers.”
“43% of American voters use voting machines that researchers have found have serious security flaws, including back doors. These companies are accountable to no one. They won’t answer basic questions about their cyber security practices. And the biggest companies won’t answer any questions at all. Five states have no paper trail, and that means there is no way to prove the numbers the voting machines put out are legitimate. So much for cyber security 101.”
“The vast majority of 10,000 election jurisdictions nationwide use election management systems that run on old software that will soon be out of date and ripe for exploitation by hackers, according to an exhaustive analysis by the Associated Press. PA, WI, MI, FL, IA, IN, AZ, & NC among others are all at risk. Even GA, which passed legislation to buy new voting machines, is on track to buy equipment that suffers from the significant cyber security weakness.”
“Our elections weren’t secure last week, and they sure as heck aren’t secure this week, and anybody who says otherwise is either selling you voting machines or simply has a malicious intent towards our elections.”

Amazing that Wyden would be bringing this up when Oregon is one of the least transparent states when it comes to voting. We use mail-in ballots, enhanced with an insecure (hacked) DMV database, and private companies to count the votes. The only thing done to make the vote more secure, even after an election official was fired a few years back for admitting our elections were vulnerable, was to use “pre-bunking” to insist that the elections are above question.
Vote counting computers were developed in Venezuela to steal elections.
Eric Coomer, Dominion Voting Systems Vice President of U.S. Engineering, while on a conference call, stated in 2020,
