The following is long. But this contains insights and border line confidential material. It is from Retired General Brick. He is a decorated war hero but also the only one who predicted this disaster for years.
Screamed , advised the last 4-5 IDF’s Chiefs of Staffs, was regular on TV and his advice were not acted upon, some thought he was “damaged from war”. and to a degree he was shut off. Everyone in Israel now knows that he was right and now he was just called by Bibi to advise. Now he tends maybe exaggerate so you decide for yourself. But he has information here that you won’t find anywhere else at this stage of the war.
This should give you an insight as to how come the IDF messed it up so bad and Intelligence? Why does the invasion not happening fast enough? How dangerous is it really to get into Gaza? What is the balance of forces in the Middle East?
So if you want to know, take the time and read. It was not easy to translate. Here it is:
Should anyone be blamed and take responsibility ? Everyone from the bottom up is responsible and most have already announced they took responsibility, and they may resign after the war but there are two who should resign now or fired. The Head of Military Intelligence and the Head of the South Command of the IDF should resign right away. There were two serious alerts at night that people approaching the fence. And they know it can be a starting point for a war. Like in Yom Kippur war the Egyptian Army approached a few times and eventually attacked. It’s the same.
The Alerts arrive to Head of Military Intelligence who is on vacation and the Commander of the South Command. The advisors for the South commander telling him, “leave it, it’s a drill, we know about it” And instead of getting the Brigades and putting thyme in positions he gambles. Even with 1% risk you must put people on standby. Why not? Get people out of bed.
Then a second alert and again The Head of Military Intelligence says “will be ok. Nothing to be excited about”. They had the concept that Hamas is deterred. Conception made them ignore facts. But also thre should be a sunrise standby even when there are no alerts. For years we had it. This is also not done. A concept that “they are deterred so no need to wake up in the morning and take positions”. And this was the biggest disgrace we ever had.
Our soldiers were killed in the beds. 70 combat soldiers of Golani (Infantry Brigade) get killed. How can a person who is directly responsible keep on going and lead a war for a few months? Now their conscience is overloaded. On their soul. How can they function properly in this survival war? The Chief of Staff and Head of Shabak (spy agency) will have to resign later after the war. They already suggested it. we need someone who is spiritually not depressed.
Should Bibi resign too? Three or four days before this disaster the Defense Minister and Chief of Staff of IDF and I think also head of the Head of Military Intelligence and Shabak of IDF sit with Bibi and telling him that “Hamas is deterred .” “No reason to worry”. They are so much in this conception that everyone goes out for the holidays in the army bases and they make a big festival by the border. Commanders bring in families to be in the Bases. As if there is no Hamas.
Like Yom Kipur war. We said “they are deterred”. Concept prevents facts. Prime Minister has responsibility too even if not a direct responsibility.
Was the concept that “we can live with Hamas as neighbors” is also a mess up? Yes. We need to put an end to Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
In order to do it we must be wise and calculated. It started with us now strangulating them, closing the area, separate the north from the south, telling the civilians that if they want to live they must move south. The siege must be “no fuel, no food, no water. Let them dry inside the tunnels. At some point they will not be able to take it and come out.
You must understand that the challenge of killing them is one of the toughest we ever new. Because its 2,000,000 citizens. 40,000 terrorists who are in the “tunnel city”. You can’t just treat the upper Gaza, you must treat the tunnels. Every street has booby traps and explosives, traps. If we enter now with infantry and tanks, and friction with people in houses. We will go over explosives. Terrorists will emerge out of tunnels and shoot and go back in. There will be many casualties.
And if we make it anyways and get to destination. Now we need to treat the tunnels. 40,000 terrorist under ground. It’s months. So after you get hit you now have to stay months. You will get attacked along the way. I say “let them be in there for a few month with no water and food and fuel and ventilation, let them choke. In few months they will start get their heads out. Then we hit them. Some will surrender. They can’t be in there for so long. Make them weak and exhausted and then get the final job done.
Going in now is a trap. If we enter now we have a high chance for an expanded regional war. Explosion in West Bank with tens of thousand terrorists run into our settlements. Tens of thousands inside Israel too and we are not prepared. Then Yemen and Iraqis and Hezbollah and thousands of missiles daily on our electricity and water. So its better to slow down while preparing to regional war. we have things we should have done to prepare for 20 years. At least we should do the urgent things we can.
Prepare the airports that have no bunkers for soldiers. Civilian Guard with weapons. Arm better and organize the settlements in the West Bank. The 300,000 reserves, some can go home until we enter Gaza. Don’t rush!!! Let them die in the tunnels. Enter when they are weak. Break them mortally with the siege before entering .
Are you in contact with BIBi? I was about three days ago last time but I will not detail it. I did tell him what must be done now in case we get a regional war. I told him specifics of what need to be done that was not done 20 years and the immediate things.
I can’t tell you all but things I said in the media are “equip all the settlements in the West Bank, a few pistols will not stop thousands of terrorists. Need standby platoons in every settlement. and positions around the settlements. Same in the North by the border and the South and a National Civil Guard inside Israel.
No Preemptive strike on Hezbollah? No way! They are spread on hundreds of kilometers. Not just the borders. It’s not a small area like Gaza. Even in small Gaza with air force attacks we didn’t stop their rackets.
Even if you destroy a half their rockets they still have some 75,000 enough for thousands of rockets on Israel per day and then you get the Iranian Militias joining from Syria and from Yemen and Iraq and all raining missiles on Israel. we are not prepared for it. We can do more when we are strong. Not now.
I had reports detailed for years for 20 years. To all Chief of Staffs. I was silenced. They bluffed with false security.
Can we do something in the middle ? We now have world support and it will not be forever.
Entering is a trap with lots of casualties for months. Now they still have water and power. After months they will not be able to stay inside. we can keep bombing while they are under. we must prevent water and supplies from the south to the other areas. There could be connecting tunnels. We must disconnect them. I can’t expose how.
This is how you win wars.

Here in America, my concerns include the fact that Gaza has a small population yet the numbers of people who have been protesting this, in favor of “Palestine”, would far outnumber the Gaza population. The enemy has had 20+ years to scheme and dream.

When I mentioned WWIII I do not doubt the abilities of the Israeli military which America has contributed much of. I mean the huge fifth columns of Muslims that many “religious” organizations have helped brought them in along with with the Chuck Schumers,Nancy Pelosi’s etc around the globe. I didn’t see them supplying anything to the hostages.
The last thing I would want to see is the brave IDF Forces turned into cannon fodder. My question is … can Israel effectively block food and water from entering Gaza … after Biden pressured Egypt to open the border to resupply? Can Israel effectively weaken Hamas ? Starve em out?

Did a delivery to San Francisco once of an oversize load that was very hard to maneuver in the area near the port. The job foreman told me to bring it on so I worked my way in successfully. Upon arrival on site a very loud “man” in pink overalls and pink hardhat with all the affectations going at level ten was in my face in an instant. The foreman had to calm him and inform him that I hadn’t arrived without permission.
BUT
Neither one would listen when I tried to explain how to unload the three large cartons with the on site forklift.
AFTER …much noise and feathers flying…
they arranged for me to go to the port to be unloaded without my knowledge or consent.
When informed of their solution I inquired if there was a route to get there to which they responded, “that was my job.” I then stated that since they had already stepped into my job why they didn’t finish it and oh by the way here’s the keys to the truck if you want them also.
Had to plot my own route, of course and then wait forever to be unloaded, of course because union didn’t have me on their schedule for the day.
Barely made it out of town during rush hour and almost scraped a street car of all things trying to maneuver where I shouldn’t have been in the first place.
Refused any other loads into San Fran from that day until I quit driving trucks. Thought I had walked into the bar scene from star wars on that job site, an unbelievably ineffective and feckless bunch of clowns.
I don’t miss my second career of driving trucks at all!
(pardon the lengthy “war story” but it provides a glimmer of what its like trying to get the job done these days.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Up date on Niki. The cancer has not grown! Praise the Lord! Unfortunately Laura has COVID and cannot help Niki now. But Niki seems to be able to handle it on her own. In February Laura, who the Dean of one on-line university, and does classes for another, has a conference in N Carolina she cannot get out of and so Sherry and I will be going down there again during that time.
In other news, it looks like you Texans are in for more rain before long.

Pileated Woodpeckers. These crow sized Woodpeckers are stunning if you see them in the wild. They are huge (crow sized). I had them in my old woods, though typically only saw them once or twice a year. They are here also, though I have never seen them in my neighborhood
8 species instate but have never seen a red cockaded woodpecker.
Those Pileated Woodpeckers are erroneously referred to as flickers locally and are quite common and quite loud. Both their “drilling” and their call can be heard from a distance.

Oh Betsy – I cried with him. Lord have mercy! I fear we will see more and more of this. Police and Firefighters go through so much in their every day. My dear friend who I’ve known 32 years just retired as a Fire Captain in June. They’re in the heart of Los Angeles. The stories he tells… I just want them out there, but he and his girlfriend have aging parents to care for and the parents won’t move. Lord, restore us to sanity and grant our peacekeepers safety.

Police managed to talk him in, but this young man was in such despair my heart broke. Just as it did for this fellow. I cried to. How many more people have reached such a point. I wept for them all.

Marathon Carriage Driving with a 4-year old Warmblood
named ‘Raphael’ after the archangel – he is a real spitfire –

overall – good start for the young whippersnapper !!!

When I was much younger I would go every year to the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara to watch the Morgan horse show – both dressage and western. Those were the days…

His Dad was a Reiner – and quite talented – cannot recall his show
name but I know it had Spark in it – so Raphie’s bloodline is good.
I wish I knew how to bring some pics over so you can see just how
beautiful Raphie and his Dad are – muscular and strong !!!
Will see if I can get a dressage and marathon video – hers did not
come out – she went with her trainer and hubby who navigates
for both of them – so no one was free to take videos this time.
I am so happy for her – she finally found a lifelong buddy !!!
And she is getting a miniature Corgi to drive with her at home !!!

Waffles yes, fried chicken yes! but not together……..but hey I don’t care for honey chicken or honey ham either and some love those combos.
I have so far been enjoying my day, yes. And, I’m with you. Fried chicken, yes! Waffles, yes! I’ve never tried them together myself but it appears some really do enjoy a meal that way.
The video just seemed Open Thread-ish so I shared it.
I’ve had it now and then. They don’t really go together. But both go good with maple syrup.
Have you ever tried real Maple Syrup in a cup of coffee? It’s not to bad a flavor.
