The hybrid system in the Gulf sure looks impressive and is bringing increasing higher winds and heavy rainfall along the Gulf Coast. The European model shows it developing into a Tropical Storm once it crosses Florida into the Atlantic but the NHC shows nothing.
Rah we along the Gulf Coast are about 10 inches shy of our normal rainfall. Local weathermen say we are having a drought.
Which has been or is about to be attenuated to some extent.

Oh, and BTW there is another system forming that will follow about the same path. So more help is on the way.
I would also say that the claim that the threat of tropical development in the Gulf has passed is only a temporary situation. Still a good possibility of development in the western Caribbean that moves up into the Gulf and strengthens into a bad TS or hurricane.
Awaiting much needed moisture. So far my unreliable phone weather app shows none in the offing.
Here is the SE US European model 32 day precipitation anomaly (relative to averages)
The same but South Central. Does not look good for TX, especially since after September it is very rare for Texas to get hit by a tropical system.

The Palmer drought index. Lets see what it says in a couple of weeks.
Locally (Virginia), we’re 5 inches short on rainfall this year. The Soil is so dry, hard and unyielding this fall that a turning plow won’t work the gardens to prep for next year. Will have to try a sub-soiler to break the ground and then try again. We need a wet winter for next year really bad at this point.
That hyrbrid storm along the Gulf coast is actually stronger than Sean with winds 1o knots higher. Sean is likely to recurve and stay out in the Atlantic. However, Joe Bastardi says that feature behind it marked with the yellow X is likely to be in the Caribbean in the next 7-10 days and thus bears watching.
After wearing a winter coat and my winter slippers to let the dogs out early yesterday morning, I went out in just my sleepers and bare feet this morning and was quite comfortable waiting for the kids to do their business. Quite a change. Supposed to be this way the next two days.

There are still a number of cattle ranchers around where I live (Central Valley, CA). The cattle run up in the foothills and lower mountains spring, summer and fall. In the fall cowboys ride up into the mountains to round up the cattle and bring them back down into the valley for winter.
It’s still possible to get a job as a cowboy. A good cutting horse will sell for thousands of dollars.
The first video is a cutting horse competition. Watch the rider and you will see that he does very little other than stay in the saddle. The horse, once shown the steer to separate from the herd, does all the work without direction from the rider. Maximize the screen to full view.
The second video is a history, going back about 100 years, showing the breeding and lines of the best cutting horses.

That work van driver had to have been blind not to see those vehicles approaching at a high rate of speed. Doesn’t matter if he had the right away or not that was a bad move. The car went careening off and at that angle probably met something very hard and unyielding outside that intersection. The car already had damage to the driver area from the initial collision and the driver probably injured.

You know, sometimes unexpected things happen.
Lemme give you a for instance.
Back in the 80’s when I was a kid in college, one of my jobs was working at a steak house. The owner decided that it might make good business to deliver food on campus. This was (and still is) a small town in Eastern Kentucky and the college kids were and are necessary for the economy.
I did lots of different jobs at the steak house, but mostly I cooked. One Friday night, near closing time, the delivery driver had left for the night and my boss asked if I could cook something and deliver it on campus. Not a problem.
When I got there, I called the room from the lobby.
This is VERY important to the story.
I called the room. From the lobby.
A couple of minutes later a really cute girl came to get the food. And she had tears in her eyes. I asked what was wrong and she told me she had gone with her roommate to a party the night before and the guy she liked had hit on her roommate instead of her and she had already come down and picked up flowers the guy sent to her ROOMMATE, and this was the SECOND time that night she was picking up something from the lobby for her ROOMMATE.
She got tore up as she told it.
Sooooo…….I smiled at her and said “why, you never know, you may end up with flowers before the night is over.”
She said something to the effect that her luck wasn’t running that good lately, and went back upstairs with the food.
I put the phone number in a safe spot in the car and flew back to work.
Now, she seemed like a party girl. I don’t drink. I didn’t see any hope in a relationship, I just thought I would try to help her have a moment that she could take back to her roommate.
I cleaned up and closed the restaurant in record time.
And, I had a PLAN!
I would try to get to Kroger’s before they closed at 10. Yes, small town, and at 10 or before it was the only place in town to get flowers.
I was going to buy her pretty flowers, fly home and get a shower (I smelled like ribeye, which is a great smell, but not necessarily romantic) and put on a SUIT, and take her the flowers.
Like I said, I didn’t expect it to go anywhere, but I wanted to do a simple little thing to hopefully help her have a better night. And I figured bringing her flowers, in a suit, and her coming to the lobby to get them (giving people in the dorm something to talk about) after she thought she was not going to have anything nice happen for her, might help turn her bad day around.
So when I got to the car after work……that safe place I put the phone number?
Apparently wasn’t so safe!
I tore that Trans Am upside down trying to find that number. No luck. Never saw her again and had no way to contact her.
That’s bugged me for a long, long time now. I just wanted to cheer her up.
I told you that to tell you this:
It is entirely possible he could have lost your note with the number. Just like I lost a number.
And, he would not have randomly said he was single without interest in you.
He can’t get a good read on you. He sorta put himself out there, in his eyes, by saying he was single. If he had your number, I think he woulda called, unless he thought you gave it to him in case he had questions about the soup.

You are such a gem. Truly. What a sweet, sweet story for you to attempt to encourage that young lady.
Things happen, or don’t sometimes, for very good reasons. Sometimes we thank God for unanswered prayers, right?
I am a huge risk assessor. To me, I value more highly sustaining the status quo and keeping a nice acquaintance and someone I consider influential in the community. Things are cordial and light and delightful just the way they are and if nothing ever changed, would I be happy? Yes.
What if they didn’t stay that way? Then we risk alienating one another and I lose my nice experiences and my source for wholesome veggies.
And what to the discomfort of my teen daughter? When she had her job, I suddenly found myself with “me” time… which sadly didn’t last that long. I felt I could do some things for myself without robbing her of anything. God-willing, she has 1 1/2 more years of high school. I’ve been able to keep things quiet and stable for her for most of her life. No need to jeopardize any of that.
Plus, I’m a Christian conservative, so I’m not going to play around and throw myself out there like a dessert on an all you can eat buffet. He’s got lots of lady opportunities all around him, so the stick will have to come swinging from his direction.
Guys like the chase and good noble men, IMHO, are the pursuers… not the women.
Being in the midst of some terrible single mom experiences with other women, I cringe at the entrapment game. CRINGE. Like spiders going after prey… so creepy!!! Oh, I’ve seen terrible things and one too many compromises on their faith putting themselves and their kids in very dangerous scenarios.
I just don’t roll like that and need my man to respect and protect that! I want him to protect my faith, like it is as precious to him as gold.
I hope (pray) I can set an example to my daughter of how meaningful courtship can be and how women and men should expect to treat each other honoring faith and dignity.
Now, I’m a little embarrassed and laugh that we have taken the OT back to junior high school as mentioned yesterday.
The challenges… no matter how big or how small ARE REAL. We live in a complicated world.
I hope by my sharing my little escapades, maybe men out there will make grand gestures, like you attempted, for their ladies and keep those home fires burning.
For those who are afraid to take a leap… it can be as simple as “Hey. You seem really nice and I would like to further our conversations without interruptions. Would you like to meet for coffee and hang out together?” and “Would you be my friend?”
We’ve lost our art of communication.
I bet if we could hone that skill again, we could find our way back to civil discourse.

What I miss most? Companionship. When you are pushin’ 80 there aren’t going to be many opportunities to meet someone new. I’m blessed to have good friends but, in moments like this, the absence of that companionship is a heavy and most uncomfortable weight.

I can testify to that! Maybe I got a little gun-shy when she turned me down, TWICE, when I first asked her out…
We worked on the same floor in a Dallas office building and I’d managed to catch her eye in the hallway, so one day I worked up the courage to ask her out… sort of. “Maybe we could meet for a drink sometime,” I offered.
“I don’t drink” she said.
Undeterred, a week or so later I suggested, “Maybe we could meet for a cup of coffee?” to which she replied, “I don’t drink coffee,” as I crashed-and-burned in a WWII Corsair a second time, in my mind.
As I reconnoitered over the next week or so, she shared the story with her roommate who told her, “I know you don’t drink alcohol or coffee, but WHATEVER he asks you to do, if he asks again, say yes!” Turns out my love is a bit of literal thinker, like myself.
So I figure, she has to eat, right? And even though she doesn’t eat evening meals, following her roomie’s advice, she replied “Yes! I’d like to go to dinner” when I asked her out for the 3rd time.
Fast-forward just 4 months later, I was thinking of asking her to marry me! But as you say, Greg1, sometimes we men can be pretty dense and I wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do. The prayer that came out was something like, “Father God, if she’s the one, please make it obvious, like a brick dropping on me from heaven so that even I don’t miss it!”
That very evening we went to our first baseball game, of many that would follow, to watch the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas, July 28,1994. Kenny Rogers pitched a perfect game while we watched every pitch from our seats in the 9th row outside 1st base. At that time, it was the 14th perfect game in 115 years of many thousands of professional baseball games.
That was my brick from heaven! I didn’t miss that one; we were married 2 months later and she is still the love of my life. Thank you Jesus!
Second date. I didn’t have much money so we were flying kites off the seawall. The sailors on the passing ships were fascinated by the gorgeous red-head teasing them with her kit’s tail. I turned around . . . she was smiling at me. That moment felt like there was a ray from heaven shining down. I knew then that she was the one. The love of my life, we were together 55 years.
God is so good to us!

-Blinken is coming to Israel. Not good in my opinion. I don’t like him and hope he will not interrupt the war effort.
-Trump made a comment in a rally that “he will never forget that Bibi disappointed us”. I believe he is upset that Bibi called to congratulate Biden when Trump was challenging the elections. In my opinion it was two weeks or more later and all leaders of the world called and Bibi had to call too.
I don’t really know why Trump is still upset about it? In any case Bibi is not going to be in power by the next US elections if you ask me. What just happened will take a toll on all the responsible people from the bottom up.

-Israeli Health Ministry wants to hospitalize injured terrorists in a Psychiatric facility. The facility is threatening to go on a strike.
-A report that terrorists are treated in a major hospital near Tel Aviv. An extreme right wing organization that is known to hate Arabs and go into physical fights is sending many people to the hospital. The decision was made and the terrorists are taken to a prison hospital facility.
-An image of a terrorists bed next to a victim bed in the same hospital is cratering rage. I am sure it was taken care of.
-The largest North Hospital in Haifa is slowly going into a war protocol moving department underground.
-Blinken is coming to Israel. Not good in my opinion. I don’t like him and hope he will not interrupt the war effort.
-Trump made a comment in a rally that “he will never forget that Bibi disappointed us”. I believe he is upset that Bibi called to congratulate Biden when Trump was challenging the elections. In my opinion it was two weeks or more later and all leaders of the world called and Bibi had to call too.
I don’t really know why Trump is still upset about it? In any case Bibi is not going to be in power by the next US elections if you ask me. What just happens will take a toll on all the responsible people from the bottom up.
-Secretary of the UN is demanding that Israel stop the blockade on Gaza.
-The Arab League of Nations are calling Israel to stop the blockade. (Give the hostages and we will stop the blockade I say).
-Republican House members are saying they will oppose an aide package that includes both Israel and Ukraine in the same package.
-Israeli is on a massive campaign of “Hamas is worse than ISIS”. Preparing the PR ground for annihilating Hamas.
-10,000 Israelis arrive to a funeral of a lone soldier who died. Lone soldier mean he came from abroad and have no family in Israel.
-Israeli Defense Minister :”We will wipe Hamas off the surface of the Earth”. “It will be a long and difficult war”.
-Defense Minister shows the Heads of NATO a video with the atrocities and make it clear that “we took a strong hit but this is not 1943”. “We will get down to the last person who was involved in the murder, planners and those who did it.”
-Germany’s leader. “The silence of the Palestinian Authority (Abu Mazen) is shameful. Germany stops aide to Palestinians.
-Israeli Energy Minister :”Humanitarian aide to Gaza? Not one power switch or water valve will be touched. No fuel truck will arrive until the hostages are back and don’t anyone dare preaching us morality. Humanitarian for humanitarian.”
-Huge drop in the number of rockets and missile on Israel. First time a quiet night. They understand that they will need rockets for a whole month. Conserving the stocks.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Duchess….seeing that ladybug prompted me to tell you this small story…
The other night, I found a black ladybug with brown barely visible spots floating upside down in my bathwater, legs frantically wiggling.
I was so distressed. Chris handed me a tissue, and I was able to get him onto it, but the water was warm and he had stopped moving.
Chris took him outside and lay the tissue down and waited…
He suddenly started moving, at which point Chris lifted the sodden tissue with its precious cargo onto the leaf of a nearby plant, whereupon the little bug hurried off into the other leaves.
It may sound ridiculous, but this miracle with one of God’s tiniest creations absolutely thrilled us. I can’t explain the joy we both felt for a successful rescue.
I’m sure your Scripture today with that beautiful ladybug was so that I would be reminded to tell you about this mustard seed sized gift from above.
Especially as the news around us is of the most terrible, I thought it might brighten someone’s day.
Sometimes the littlest blessings can be pretty big😍🙏🏻

Every poll I have seen has shown “Climate Change” at the bottom of the list of concerns if it even makes the top 10.

No doubt there have been a large number of storms this year. Every Basin shows an above average ACE.
But the fact is that the storms are weaker. And the NHC has been naming storms that they would not have bothered naming a decade ago. Joe Bastardi calls those storms “ham sandwiches” and points out:
we have had 9 ham sandwich storms this year ( ACE less than 2) In the entire decade of the 1950s, the ace/storm was over 10. This year, for all the attention to the TOTAL NUMBER its an abysmal 6.7. If we want to scream more storms you are hiding overall THEY ARE WEAKER

Additionally the brutality and cruelty and the kidnapped who will never be the same again if they survive. And we have a multi front situation from three directions and a risk of Iranian nuke if they managed to have one. And also internal Arab population that could turn. In Israel people are connected. One of my Facebook friends lost his young son in battle, the son just had his first born son. Another friend of my sister in law that I know had the daughter kidnapped. She went to the nature party to dance.
She looks like a young angel . Like someone who never heart anyone.

jb, I have a lot to say about the NHS and the insidious propaganda which made people believe what the government was pushing was true.

But I will say this…the Brits keep meticulous, accurate records and release the figures come what may…unlike this country.
